i talk whit a dude who restore guitars for living but the restoration is kinda pricy (but the dude is pretty good on it) so im waiting to get money, just waiting to see what im gonna do. i havent decided yet, the problem is the guitar have no electronics it has the bridge tho
My first good electric was a 65 Mustang that the previous owner had sanded down to bare wood. I remember using just pure linseed oil on it, letting it soak in, then buffed it out a bunch. It looked okay, I loved it because it played well, and fortunately they didn’t sand off the Fender decal. Just fix it up yourself and don’t worry about it. It could be a great project.
Good find!
I feel like a restoration is in order. How many people can say they own/play a 68 strat….
Unless you don’t play, than I understand parting it out. Still, I’d try and sell it as a whole, to someone wanting to restore it, in an effort to keep the body and neck together.
I just know I’d have a hard time parting with it, if I were to discover something like that.
Edit: just noticed the cavity looks like it’s Sherwood green. Same as my ‘62 hot rod, reissue. Now I want it even more.

Lemme know. I’d be happy to do it for just the price of materials and maybe some time.
Another “refinish” gone wrong. My guess is someone started who didn’t understand the job started to refinish it and gave up.
