I don't think it's as bad as you're probably viewing it through your eyes. You still look really good and a little more length, especially in the back will look 👌 you can pull off the top knot for sure, and few people can do that well
First tip bro is stop going to a barber! They specialize in mainly shorter styles and clipper cuts/fades and most barbers are only trained in trimming length but not necessarily styling it. There are a few that can do long hair really well but you have to ask for recommendations and do your research. I'd suggest going to a full salon as they are more versed in longer hairstyles and how to maintain hair while it's growing out.
To be honest it doesn't look that bad like everyone else is saying here, if you want to give it some texture or shape throw some light styling cream or pomade it, or pull it up in a half bun/top knot which totally works for you. Otherwise if you're fine with going a little shorter then only going in for maintenance trims, ask for a few face-framing layers so it looks less choppy. Hair looks healthy though, you're on the right track so keep it up! 💪

Maybe like an overgrown skater look, or a wolfcut kind of look? I think you should find inspo pictures to show the hairdresser

as for hair growth I say stick to it I did the same thing, my suggestion is when blow drying do it with your head bent over like your touching your toes and brush the fringe upwards so it don’t get knotted trust me doing that adds some great volume and if you get your fringe in the right position you want use hairspray too keep it in place
