I trained Amadou as a Tackling defensive mid once when I managed LOSC in FIFA22. He went from 72 to 78 first season, 81 second season, 86 third season in Milan. Great player like you’ve said
Several have only made their break through this year like enciso and ferguson and they should definitely be lower, but the majority have been playing extremely well for longer
Criminally underrated player. As a City fan, watching him week in week out and cheering him on last season and now seeing him break into the first team makes me tear up.
He played for Bournemouth when we bought him, a team that got relegated. He wasn't going to be able to break into the team but of course we're going to spend £40m on a player of his quality to be a rotational player in defence because of the system we played at the time and his various roles.
I talk as if he was bought specifically to be a rotational option and never got the spotlight he deserved until we binned Cancelo and we won the treble. No coincidence that when Ake came into our starting 11, he played a vital role in our defence to win us three trophies including:
1. The FA Cup in which he scored a solo goal in our tightest match
2. The Premier League where he made multiple insane blocks, man of the match worthy appearances and beautiful plays.
3. The Champions League in where he had the most touches on the field in the final.
Any more stupid replies?
It wasn’t a stupid reply. Saying a £40mil player breaking into your team makes you tear up is ridiculous. Anyone worth £40mil should have a reasonable chance of getting into most teams.
It's not ridiculous at all. He's a player who I truly admire for the way he plays the game and the things he's had to go through in his career. He's a great person as well. I'm perfectly allowed to have a favourite player and I'm perfectly allowed to be happy when that player is seen more then a rotational option.
Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with any of that. But acting like he’s had some amazing underdog story because it took him a year to break into the team after a £40mil transfer is ridiculous.
Took him two years given that he didn't play much in his first season because of a hamstring injury. He was going to be sold to Chelsea as well. It is more of story then what's been given credit for.
I'm not really caring about the story. I just love the player and the guy. I'm happy seeing him play because I know he's great and to see my favourite player play week in and week out after he hasn't had a chance to makes me happy.
Right, but you realise that spending 40m on a rotation player is still insane, if you pay 40m for someone they must either be super young and the second coming of R9 or a player who’s getting into the starting XI most games
He was easily able to slot into the starting XI, that's why we spent £40m on him. It's proven by the fact he's now in the starting XI and was in it for two of the biggest matches in our entire history.
If he was so easily able to slot into the starting XI, then why did you tear up when he slotted into the starting XI? That’s what people are giving you grief for mate… City fans are really something else.
Kante was 81 rated in his first year at Chelsea after winning the league with Leicester I remember, then the season after he was high 80's
Just shows the bigger teams get that much more exposure
Kimmich is the CDM with the highest potential in FIFA 23. I don't think he needs or he is capable of anymore than that.
Starting with 89, potential to be 90, plus dynamic potential, he'll always be a beast in any save.
A bit unknown to a lot of people but Hany Muhktar is under rated. I think he’s like a 77 but he’s the best player in MLS and probably should be more like 83
I am biased af but [Edouard Michut](https://sofifa.com/player/261249/edouard-michut/230047/) is what every midfield need from a second division/small league to UCL
Mohammad Kudus, the Ghanaian baller.
Trust me, he will be the next big Centre Attacking Midfielder
A slightly more known one but I don’t think gets a lot of attention, Jamal Muisala
Reo Hatate, I get that he maybe had a low rating in 23 cause he was new to Europe and had a weird career in Japan playing in several positions.
But he showed this year he's one of, if not the best, central midfielders in Scotland.
Tbf to fifa they've boosted his rating and potential over the year as he's shown his skills. 75 is maybe slightly low but fair, however his potential being capped at 80 isn't on. I can see him running the midfield at a Europa league level team in one of the top leagues in 3-4 years. Imo his potential should be maxing out at 83-85.
In general I feel like a lot of the promising youngsters in Scotland have underrated potentials, sure it's not the strongest league but the players that do make the move south into the prem do prove they're great players.
Julian Alvarez, dude nearly won the world cup golden boot competing with Messi, Mbappe and Giroud, won the WC, Champions League, Premier League and FA cup while being one of the top scorers on an already stacked Man City team and being stuck behind Haaland. Bro is easily one of the highest potential strikers in Europe and only went from a 79 to 81 throughout the season.
Not answering this question but a player who I think is very underrated is Roy Krishna on the Indian Super League Team called ATK Mahun Bogun in FIFA 22 (idk what team he plays for now). I'm much better than my friend at FIFA so to make it fair I have to pick a one-star squad and he can pick any team, because of this I found ATK Mahun Bogun and Roy Krishna insane. He has 90+ pace, has excellent shooting and he is over 30 years old.
Honestly, most players. Kinda weird to me that there's never a 99 rated player. Highest rated player is almost never more than like 93. Which to me is stupid bc you're basically saying "even the best player isn't the best."
Obviously they’re developed by different teams, but Madden has loads of 99 players. It’s interesting that Fifa uses a different gauge. If Messi, widely recognised as the greatest of all time isn’t a high 90 at his peak, what is?
Perhaps 99 is reserved for a perfect all round player with no weaknesses whatsoever.
Used to be before FIFA 2006, after that it dropped. Only Messi and Ronaldo have for the most part punched above those numbers.
Although I feel there shouldn't really be a 99 rated player because there is no such thing as perfection. Even prime Messi missed chances, the best midfielders misplaced passes and the best defenders and keeper conceded.
I've seen players in CM rise to 96/97, it's still unreal.
Leon Bailey. Was a beast with Leverkusen, 81 OVR with a potential of 85 in fifa21. 2 years later, he’s a 80 OVR? But due to the dynamic potential I’ve seen him 90+ so I suppose he can still get there. It’s just weird that now that he is playing in the prem they’ve rated him worse
Yeah, I’m not sure why people think he continues to deserve higher ratings just because he had high potential in the past.
We’ve seen tons of insane potential guys never make it there, and EA, imo, often gives guys a lot of leeway, and will keep their potential pretty high for a year or more after most people can see, irl, that they player isn’t going to hit anywhere near those heights.
Agreed although I do think there are players that they downgrade overall/potential way too soon in ways that make no sense. Also, one of the many ways dynamic potential itself is broken is that IRL an 18 year old player who is on the first team for one season but doesn't play much is not going to suddenly lose all potential like he does in FIFA. If he's doing nothing for 2-3 years into his 20s then maybe it's time to question, but I feel like 16-20 their potential should be relatively static. It's very stupid and unrealistic. One of the things I really hate about player development in the game.
Having said that Bailey has had enough time in the Prem where it was reasonable to downgrade him
>We’ve seen tons of insane potential guys never make it there, and EA, imo, often gives guys a lot of leeway, and will keep their potential pretty high for a year or more after most people can see, irl, that they player isn’t going to hit anywhere near those heights.
Barcelona had so many over the years
He’s a tricky one because he’s very good at a few specific things, so I’m not sure if that would be reflected in his OVR rating. His slide tackling should be in the 90s though
I haven't looked at his stats recently but from what I remember he's solid in defence and a bit pants going forward. Does he get a ratings boost from switching to CB?
Jorrel Hato the Dutch LB who starts at 64 rated but can be a baller when hit with dynamic potential,he can be a great threat going forward and a great defender when needed
Sinclair Armstrong of QPR. Guy doesn't even have a photograph and is a 65. Managed to get him to 90+ in like 4 seasons. All the clubs are after him apparently.
their ratings must genuinely be done by people who don’t watch football or only watch top 6.
i remember years ago they asked for volunteers to join their rating team, i applied via their website and in my application i couldn’t fit anymore words into their textbox for “what makes you knowledgeable and a good fit for this role?”.
i didn’t end up getting the position and their reasoning was something along the lines of “not enough reasoning on why you’d be a good fit” - even though i maxed out the word count
It's difficult to make such conclusions after the season ended, as these ratings represent the 21/22 season, not 22/23. In the case of Ake, in 21/22 season he was mostly just a bench player with less than 1000 minuties in Premier League, so I guess that 78 rating is fair enough. Obviously his rating in FC 24 should be much higher.
Probably EA could make the player rating updates more frequently through the year, so they actually show the real current level of a player.
I would like to nominate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for the same question for EA FC 24. I can almost guarantee that he will only be rated in the mid 80s despite his incredible season last year. Same goes for Osimhen
Adeyemi or mitoma, Adeyemi should be 80 atleast while mitoma should be no less than 83. Another talent might be Lavia, which is insane for Southampton, yet was 70 rated.
Caicedo - 78 rated. Surely should be 80+? Mbuemo at 76 also seems a bit low. Always dangerous whenever I've watched him play.
Romeo Lavia, easily Southampton's best player last season, only got a 70 rating
Similar position but Amadou Onana should be higher than a 75. Great player.
I trained Amadou as a Tackling defensive mid once when I managed LOSC in FIFA22. He went from 72 to 78 first season, 81 second season, 86 third season in Milan. Great player like you’ve said
In ‘23 i got him up to a 90 ovr
I was about to say him
Entirety of brighton squad imo
Yeah, they always seem to be on the brink of relegation in cm, but in reality they're in Europe.
Well tbf to EA, Brighton’s whole thing is finding underrated players for cheap in smaller leagues.
Several have only made their break through this year like enciso and ferguson and they should definitely be lower, but the majority have been playing extremely well for longer
in reality they are in England, and yes in europe
Tim Ream was absolutely disgraced.
Mitrović's highest ever rating was 78
Ake is the right answer
Criminally underrated player. As a City fan, watching him week in week out and cheering him on last season and now seeing him break into the first team makes me tear up.
😂 u talk asif he’s a youth player not someone who was bought for 40 million quid
Correct 🤣 City buy these depth players for large amounts of money and sit them on the bench and people see them as underrated.
He played for Bournemouth when we bought him, a team that got relegated. He wasn't going to be able to break into the team but of course we're going to spend £40m on a player of his quality to be a rotational player in defence because of the system we played at the time and his various roles.

You need to get over yourself my man
Get over himself for being happy to see his favourite player play?
Right, but you realise that spending 40m on a rotation player is still insane, if you pay 40m for someone they must either be super young and the second coming of R9 or a player who’s getting into the starting XI most games

I am a city fan, we dont claim him. ill happily bring our fan count down to 19 because of this.
Surprised to see no one mention Mitoma, I feel he should be at least 82 or 83 with 85 potential
His end product tailed off a lot towards the end of the season, obviously talented dribbler but I think 80 would be about right.
Not 23 now but I think when Leicester won the prem vardy was like rated 84 or something like that? Felt real low to me
He started with 72 rating. His rate bump was unprecedent
To be fair, so was his rise and subsequent performances.
One of the best I’ve had the privilege of watching play
Kante was 81 rated in his first year at Chelsea after winning the league with Leicester I remember, then the season after he was high 80's Just shows the bigger teams get that much more exposure
Kimmich always plays out of this world but always seems to stay put at 89-88 rated, deserves 90-91 easy
Also Rodri only being an 87 with no promos untill the season was over
This is FIFAcareer not FUT tho
Oh yeah forgot but still it’s mad lol
Didn’t even get a TOTS either lol
And the fact casemrio got one..
He’s UNBELIEVABLY good IRL. I agree with you.
Kimmich is the CDM with the highest potential in FIFA 23. I don't think he needs or he is capable of anymore than that. Starting with 89, potential to be 90, plus dynamic potential, he'll always be a beast in any save.
Nah Ive gotten Camavinga to 95+ multiple times
Kim Min Jae is so underrated being the best CB in the world this year
Agreed. I may reluctantly agree with his current rating for now... but his potential only being 82 is criminal....
This physically hurts me as a Fenerbahce fan. Man I miss KMJ so much
Him and araujo both vastly underrated.
Araujo has an 89 potential tho, Kim only has 82
Oh true I had forgot that. Kim deserves the same
Camavinga
MARTINELLI 78????? NO WAYYYY
No one is surprised, Saka was 80😁 We know FIFA and Arsenal beef.
Julian Alvarez.
A bit unknown to a lot of people but Hany Muhktar is under rated. I think he’s like a 77 but he’s the best player in MLS and probably should be more like 83
Hany is an incredible talent. I haven’t looked at Reynoso’s rating, but I’m going to assume he is probably underrated as well.
Hes 28, hardly a talent
This just in, 36 year old Messi sucks!
I am biased af but [Edouard Michut](https://sofifa.com/player/261249/edouard-michut/230047/) is what every midfield need from a second division/small league to UCL
Yes! I used him in my latest Malaga save. At least a 7/10 every game. Rolls Royce of a player.
Garnacho. He started at something in the 60s and has grown to 70 but he should be about 75-78
Finishing and dribbling should at least be higher
Mohammad Kudus, the Ghanaian baller. Trust me, he will be the next big Centre Attacking Midfielder A slightly more known one but I don’t think gets a lot of attention, Jamal Muisala
I don’t really see it with Kudus tbh
Now reading the post properly, I’ve just realised what it meant lol
Ajax fans say he has horrendous offensive iq
I like getting Xavi simons he’s very good always with great potential
Zirkzee i think. When i watch him, he always plays good but his overall is only 73.
Botman newcastle. Bloke is one of the best.
Doesn't Kvara have a silver base card? I'd say him then
Reo Hatate, I get that he maybe had a low rating in 23 cause he was new to Europe and had a weird career in Japan playing in several positions. Arda Güler.
Nah 73 overall is high for a 17 year old
Not high enough for him.
MGW and Ryan Yates
Ake, Stones Botman, Wilson Mitoma
Julian Alvarez, dude nearly won the world cup golden boot competing with Messi, Mbappe and Giroud, won the WC, Champions League, Premier League and FA cup while being one of the top scorers on an already stacked Man City team and being stuck behind Haaland. Bro is easily one of the highest potential strikers in Europe and only went from a 79 to 81 throughout the season.
Giroud's highest ever rating was 83 and that is just criminal.
When did giroud deserve higher
Not answering this question but a player who I think is very underrated is Roy Krishna on the Indian Super League Team called ATK Mahun Bogun in FIFA 22 (idk what team he plays for now). Kante should have been a 93 for the last 5 years. He’s as good at what he does as Mbappe Messi Ronaldo VVD etc. Although lately he’s injury prone
Honestly, most players. Kinda weird to me that there's never a 99 rated player. Highest rated player is almost never more than like 93. Which to me is stupid bc you're basically saying "even the best player isn't the best."

Linda Caicedo only being 70 rated in the world cup. She is such a good player and ea only gave her good speed
Don't agree with this at all, he's kind of flopped in the Prem so far so it makes total sense.
Yeah, I’m not sure why people think he continues to deserve higher ratings just because he had high potential in the past. Insane. At Leverkusen he got benched by Diaby so moved to Villa. Now at Villa he's gonna get benched by Diaby again. 😭
Poor guy I loved him with B04🥲
Not underrated at all
He hasn’t had a huge impact in the prem though, I think 80 is completely fair
My Leon Bailey is at 87 in my third season now, still growing!
Ikone. He was kinda inconsistent this season, but he deserves more than a 77 rating, at least 79
Ollie Watkins
Wan-Bissaka is not a 79, in my mind he’s an 82-3
He’s a tricky one because he’s very good at a few specific things, so I’m not sure if that would be reflected in his OVR rating. His slide tackling should be in the 90s though
Aswell as his pace, he’s fucking rapid
I haven't looked at his stats recently but from what I remember he's solid in defence and a bit pants going forward. Does he get a ratings boost from switching to CB?
Zlatan, I can't believe the potential of one of the best up and coming young talents the same as his rating.
Shaw who should be similar to Cancelo in LB
Marcus Rashford. His rating is a joke. Should absolutely be higher.
He’s an 88 what should he be?
88 base game rating now?
Yes
Nope just checked. He’s an 85 with the updated rosters.
My fault he has 88 potential
Ahhh I was like 😱😱😱😱😱
In eafc he is a 85 and the eight best striker in the world
I’d have to check again. Didn’t see that on update me rosters..
Jordan Pickford. Quite literally made saves that prevented draws or losses in 2021 and 2022 yet got downgraded.
Salty city fanboy thread is making me heard hurt…
every brentford player
Musiala only rated 84. Mans is easily a 89 irl.
Dawg wtf
He's german Messi
Garnacho is still only like 71 should be closer to 80 imo
Lisandro Martínez been 82 when he is one of the best CB in the prem
Anthony elanga… takes his time developing But he is an absolute Beast when we reaches 85-86 And onwards
He isn’t that good that’s why he isn’t rated very high
But in game he is very very veeeery Underrated If your just patient with him
No he develops because he has potential and becomes good he is still not a great player now
You’ve misunderstood the question. He’s shite IRL so shouldn’t have a good rating on FIFA.
QA team.
Jorrel Hato the Dutch LB who starts at 64 rated but can be a baller when hit with dynamic potential,he can be a great threat going forward and a great defender when needed
Nico Raskin and Todd Cantwell
Kvara never goes above 87 in my saves, whereas other young talents like Pedri are always 92-93.
Deossa from Atlético Nacional. Terrible card, incredible player in real life
Can you change a players potential?
Enzo. Think he’s 79 rated and don’t even have his face scan which I thought was weird
Ahmed Daghim
Sinclair Armstrong of QPR. Guy doesn't even have a photograph and is a 65. Managed to get him to 90+ in like 4 seasons. All the clubs are after him apparently.
Enzo Fernandez just won the World Cup with 81 rating and he does not even have a real face in the game.
their ratings must genuinely be done by people who don’t watch football or only watch top 6. i remember years ago they asked for volunteers to join their rating team, i applied via their website and in my application i couldn’t fit anymore words into their textbox for “what makes you knowledgeable and a good fit for this role?”. i didn’t end up getting the position and their reasoning was something along the lines of “not enough reasoning on why you’d be a good fit” - even though i maxed out the word count
How did Kulusevski get 81
Rayan Cherki's face. Come on, fix it. It is awful on FIFA. player is great.
Reiss Nelson, Zinchenko
Lafont
It's difficult to make such conclusions after the season ended, as these ratings represent the 21/22 season, not 22/23. pretty much any Italian youngster who isn't barella or tonali. vicario maybe?
Entire Arsenal team is underrated in FIFA
I would like to nominate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for the same question for EA FC 24. I can almost guarantee that he will only be rated in the mid 80s despite his incredible season last year. Same goes for Osimhen
Adeyemi or mitoma, Adeyemi should be 80 atleast while mitoma should be no less than 83. Another talent might be Lavia, which is insane for Southampton, yet was 70 rated.
