It was entertaining to play the matches, now it's just focused on cosmetics and how the game looks rather than what it plays like. They even hide the offline modes on the main menu and try to force people into FUT.
Frostbite engine is awful. Passing, shooting and dribbling is bad. Goalkeepers save everything.
Dunno why I've only got this notification now.
At least EA owned Bioware will be using the unreal engine for Mass Effect 4. This should end the use of Frostbite for all EA games moving forward.
My only problem really with the new games is that goalkeepers save every long shot and every long shot you take is usually absolute shit. In 17 I remember scoring with center backs from outside the box but now it’s always the same cheese across the goal pass or through ball. Every goal feels the same.
The problem is when your opponent takes some weird as shot and the goal keeper does a dumbass animation and let’s the ball in and in the same game you opponent goal keepers is having the game of his life (10 match rating for a player you don’t even control 😂)
I don't own the game or the previous one. I played the trial and it was horrible. Played again recently to see if it has improved, no it hasn't. Blind loyalty isn't the answer, EA are only interested in your £60-80 initial purchase and fifa point sales. Gameplay is piss poor.
Look at the reviews and ratings, the game is bad. It's patched that many times it no longer resembles the day 1 product. They might as well just do what Rockstar have done with GTA and make FUT completely separate.
I'm on 17 too. It's my favourite, and I didn't upgrade from 13 until 17 came along.
If I may ask a few questions:
1) Do you find youngsters with high potential in free agency? Because I never do. In 13, it was very easy, granted their stats weren't hidden, but in 17 I've had no luck.
2) For Youth Academy players, I'm scared to train anymore of them. My first generation of academy graduates have bad physical stats, example I have someone in the midfield with amazing mental stats and everything else...great passer and can dance around with the ball, but his speed and everything are in the 60s or 65's at best! How can I avoid this with development going forwards?
I started in world class the dynamic one given to me. And the games are finished with more than 5 goals. Always.
I score 3, the AI scores 2-4 goals to either destroy my cleansheet or win.
I used the OS Slider right away and got 6-1 in the games that I lost 5-3 or 3-2.
The problem with fifa is there is no comprehensive and general guide on it. The game doesn't teach you what each setting mean or for that matter any tutorial.
Me too, went straight from 19 to 22, and now I'm thinking of going back to my lovely fifa 19. Can't deal with the terrible ass defending in fifa 22 with the AI attackers just easily cutting through my defense like a hot knife in butter.
the only thing abt 21 are the kits last year for most teams were herrendous n watching games now w good kits makes me want to play 22. the only thing being the shitty shaky zoom in thing on career mode makes me want to go back to 21 icl
Just made the switch to fifa 22 when it came to gamepass from 20. Played my first season, can confirm 20 is more fun, 22 is more realistic (and harder at same difficulty)
Tbf only thing really is create a club but even then its more just changing the stadium is fun cos its realistically just another low league team u set ur own restrictions on
Not really a whole lot to miss, only new features in career mode is the training ground stuff
There's something about explosive burst and upgrades to ball physics in the release media but I haven't noticed any real improvements other than my guys kicking the ball 30 yards accidentally when i hit the turbo button
You shouldn't be sad about it, the game really iisn't that good. Although Fifa 22 was free on Playstation not too long ago, you could've picked it up if that's what you're playing on
I've got 06 and 11 on PSP and 08 for the Xbox 360. You are not alone. Besides. The older games are better, less full of underage gambling, less buggy, and have better CMs.
I played FIFA 18 for the past three years just to finish out the full fifteen seasons on one save so you’re not alone. I bought FIFA 21 but didn’t like the commentary that much so I haven’t played it as much.
I can't actually because I have no money I am just 18 and my mom sure ain't buying it. Also I'll be going to college jn a whole diffrent country in 2 months and the ps is staying
The commentary for me is the best. Comments that make the immersion great when playing through the season, they comment on strikers leading the league in goals and different contracts and transfers happening throughout the year. The soundtrack is decent on that one compared to 21 and the size of the ball I feel like the ball is much bigger in 21 and it just feels a little off. Other than that I’m sure it’s quite similar to older versions but better than say 10. I do like the idea of create a club and the celebrations in 22 look sweet but I usually do RTG with small clubs and try to find unknown real players with decent stats and I like to look up the real rosters and trade for those guys if they aren’t on the team. I’m decent on World Class but struggle a little on anything harder than that. There are some bugs don’t get me wrong it’s not perfect but it was worthy of playing for that long amount of a time for me I played on switch while traveling and it was good for a quick bit of action then back to whatever I was doing.
I started with fifa 21 and this week switched to 22. I dont see a single new feature. No kidding.
I always thought these are just a memes about same game evrry year but hollly shite. Its real.
Ps I play only career mode
I played 20 for over a year until 22 came on PS Plus so I know the feeling.
Honestly prefer 20 for the more pick up and play career modes - no having to do all the training drills. Great soundtrack I still listen to now as well as the definitive perfect premier league anthem compared to the current one (which sounds too sad for my tastes)
I wouldn’t say *enjoying* Fifa 22 is completely accurate, more like just playing it. I’ve been playing 22 less and less over the last few months and whenever I do I just don’t find it particularly fun anymore
I'm in a similar situation as you, playing Fifa 21. But the difference is a lot bigger in my opinion because the development plans are a game changer in career mode.
The only thing i need for fifa 20 is the option to add/switch positions and the variety of YA faces then im good. Been running CM on 20 since Apr 2020 and still enjoying it.
Haha. Feel ya brother. I'm wondering whether it is worth getting 21/22. I don't currently have WiFi which is fine normally as I have so much phone data but for an update not so much which is what's put me off.
i used to play 22 before my ps plus subscription ended (i got the game from the monthly game thing) and imo between 20 and 22 22 is better for many reasons
I did a 2 year(reality) long 15 season career mode on fifa20. I’d still be playing it if they didn’t cap you at 15 years. I had twice taken a league 2 English side to continental dominance and had populated most of the top European sides with my youth academy graduates. So much fun I was devastated when it ended at the end of the 15th season.
For those that’ll recognize some of the names, the gods of the world became: Alessandro Branco, Igor Cardoso, Carson Tremblay & Will Rose
22 is bad idc keepers are too op then let in shockers every game just bored of it tbh. No real difference in any game its just boring and scripted as hell. Unless someone knows realistic sliders the career mode is boring.
22's defending kills me. Your defenders regularly play the striker onside. Like the line stays, but one defender inexplicably sprints ahead of the opposing striker. That is just infuriating
Dude I got fifa 22 for free with PS plus and yeah it's not all wow the amount of bugs EA still hasn't fixed is kind of ridiculous like the CF OVR bug its annoying because my CF should have a higher OVR but the stupid bug shows it as it being lower.
played 20 until last week, bought 22 on sale (84% discount) on PS4 tho.
Here's my two cents.
Jumping from 20 to 22 is pretty hard at first but some match and some FUT solo game later it's more manageable. You don't get extra sweet cutscene and the new engine on older console. Gameplay wise can be more challenging but with 41212(2) formation with 2 pacey strikers I could win almost any match. Of course the fake player faces are more complex, and more fake players has commentary name. the addition of displaying top scorers, top assist in news section make CM more immerse. The development part can be confusing at first, then the training you have to manually play practice mode for better score because simulate it depends on your best score. Then the fitness and sharpness of your players make it fun for me, if you use a player too much his fitness and sharpness degrades overtime making him not in form sort of speech. Using a player too little he has all the fitness but no sharpness which also make him not in form, this made me always switching players, make sure everyone got some playtime. Which I find is a nice touch FIFA 20 CM didn't have.
with only 10+usd for fifa 22 i can live with it for another two years cuz I'm cheap :P
17 here, is the latest FIFA gameplay I find both challenging and fun
17 was the last good one for CM.
Why tho
It was entertaining to play the matches, now it's just focused on cosmetics and how the game looks rather than what it plays like. They even hide the offline modes on the main menu and try to force people into FUT. Frostbite engine is awful. Passing, shooting and dribbling is bad. Goalkeepers save everything.
Fifa 17 is Frostbite engine tho...
Dunno why I've only got this notification now. At least EA owned Bioware will be using the unreal engine for Mass Effect 4. This should end the use of Frostbite for all EA games moving forward.

In 17 I remember scoring with center backs from outside the box but now it’s always the same cheese across the goal pass or through ball. Every goal feels the same.
Sliders
All I score are long schlong shots, can never get the tap ins
goalkeepers do not save shit if you know how to shoot 🤷🏼♂️
Sure the GK are stronger and it takes some getting used to, but geez we've had 8 months already. Plenty of time to have figured out how to beat a GK.
yh and ive played for 2 months and can score with ease
They might as well just do what Rockstar have done with GTA and make FUT completely separate.
yeah i completely agree that the game is absolute bollocks, but hey its ea they only care about money exclusively
Reporting for duty! Another 17 player here!
Fifa 17 somehow has more fluid gameplay than 22 so you're not missing out on much
I'm on 17 too. It's my favourite, and I didn't upgrade from 13 until 17 came along. If I may ask a few questions: 1) Do you find youngsters with high potential in free agency? Because I never do. In 13, it was very easy, granted their stats weren't hidden, but in 17 I've had no luck. 2) For Youth Academy players, I'm scared to train anymore of them. How can I avoid this with development going forwards?
1 I notice good young free agency after the 4th year. 2 I never grow youth academy, I don't care what the club wants... They're all shit.
At that point I would say you should think about upgrading
I tried every year. FIFA 17 still is the best for me
I agree, 17 was pretty good, I played a lot of Fifa 16 and 17 during Lockdown, I barely played any of the new games
I play fifa 21, so ur not alone
I just came from 19 to 22 and holy damn it is different and kinda not satisfying
I still regret it. Anything outside of the top leagues is sweaty goals only and endless defender blocks.
I started in world class the dynamic one given to me. And the games are finished with more than 5 goals. Always. I score 3, the AI scores 2-4 goals to either destroy my cleansheet or win.
Oh yeah I had that problem: there's good sets of sliders out there now that will make the games more realistic from a scoreline perspective
I used the OS Slider right away and got 6-1 in the games that I lost 5-3 or 3-2. The problem with fifa is there is no comprehensive and general guide on it. The game doesn't teach you what each setting mean or for that matter any tutorial.
Me too lmao, defending is a noghtmare
Me too, went straight from 19 to 22, and now I'm thinking of going back to my lovely fifa 19. Can't deal with the terrible ass defending in fifa 22 with the AI attackers just easily cutting through my defense like a hot knife in butter.
Me too. The removal of so many NTs was a let down. Plus love the soundtrack lol.
the only thing abt 21 are the kits last year for most teams were herrendous n watching games now w good kits makes me want to play 22. the only thing being the shitty shaky zoom in thing on career mode makes me want to go back to 21 icl
Fucking Madrid kit last year…
Same here
Just made the switch to fifa 22 when it came to gamepass from 20. Played my first season, can confirm 20 is more fun, 22 is more realistic (and harder at same difficulty)
Yh but it's probably worth for all the new features
I don’t think you’re missing out so much. There’s a lot more bugs in fifa 22
Tbf only thing really is create a club but even then its more just changing the stadium is fun cos its realistically just another low league team u set ur own restrictions on
not really lol
I only started playing it because it was free for ps+ members
*critisizing new glitches
The only difference between 20 and 22 is the training system and development plans.
To be fair the rosters are also new
Not really a whole lot to miss, only new features in career mode is the training ground stuff There's something about explosive burst and upgrades to ball physics in the release media but I haven't noticed any real improvements other than my guys kicking the ball 30 yards accidentally when i hit the turbo button
You shouldn't be sad about it, the game really iisn't that good. Although Fifa 22 was free on Playstation not too long ago, you could've picked it up if that's what you're playing on
Ngl the only cool thing you’re missing out on is create a club and even the objectives in that is kind of bugged.
Enjoying isn’t a word I’d use personally
I’m still playing fifa 15…On PS3 lol
PS3 had such great sports games.
Same on ps4
FIFA 18 for life!
Fifa 14 4 life
That’s solid too!!
I've got 06 and 11 on PSP and 08 for the Xbox 360. You are not alone. Besides. The older games are better, less full of underage gambling, less buggy, and have better CMs.
I'm still on fifa '18
went from 15 to 22 lmao
What new features lmao
I played FIFA 18 for the past three years just to finish out the full fifteen seasons on one save so you’re not alone. I bought FIFA 21 but didn’t like the commentary that much so I haven’t played it as much.
I would give everything I own for a copy of fifa 18. One of my favourite fifas
You can buy it...
I can't actually because I have no money I am just 18 and my mom sure ain't buying it. Also I'll be going to college jn a whole diffrent country in 2 months and the ps is staying
You might want to edit I think I hope you meant 18 not 8 haha
Thx m8
I think you meant m18
What makes FIFA 18 that good? Never owned it, but I hear great things about it, especially when compared to FIFA's of the last few years.
The commentary for me is the best. Comments that make the immersion great when playing through the season, they comment on strikers leading the league in goals and different contracts and transfers happening throughout the year. Enjoying is a strong word... more like enduring
Hahahahaha new features 🤣 funny
trust me, we are NOT enjoying fifa 22..
Jokes on you I still play fifa 15 on my ps3
don't worry bro i was playing fifa 18 for 4 years even when 22 came out 😭😭
14 here 🥺🥺
Enjoying the new features? Yeah that doesn't really happen a lot xD
New features lol
Pretty sure the game is like 5 bucks my man
It’s like 2 dollars 😂
Play fifa 22 then? Tf is the point of this post?
Not everyone can afford to buy games every year. Even on sale
I started with fifa 21 and this week switched to 22. I dont see a single new feature. No kidding. I always thought these are just a memes about same game evrry year but hollly shite. Its real. Ps I play only career mode
I play career and the only thing I’ve been playing is my create a club club. That’s one new feature. The only one 💀
Will try it after I im done with the brentford :D
I'm on PC, are there for real new features?
I played 20 for over a year until 22 came on PS Plus so I know the feeling. Honestly prefer 20 for the more pick up and play career modes - no having to do all the training drills. Great soundtrack I still listen to now as well as the definitive perfect premier league anthem compared to the current one (which sounds too sad for my tastes)
we can say we are brothers bc i play too Fifa 20
I wouldn’t say we’re enjoying 22 lad icl haha
I wouldn’t say *enjoying* Fifa 22 is completely accurate, more like just playing it. I’ve been playing 22 less and less over the last few months and whenever I do I just don’t find it particularly fun anymore
good memories from fifa 20 tbf
I prefer fifa 20 career mode tbh especially getting an actual potential
I'm in a similar situation as you, playing Fifa 21. But the difference is a lot bigger in my opinion because the development plans are a game changer in career mode.
I stopped playing Fifa22 because it's full of bugs, glitches and crashes.
I'm playing fifa 20 on the xbox 360
The only thing i need for fifa 20 is the option to add/switch positions and the variety of YA faces then im good. Been running CM on 20 since Apr 2020 and still enjoying it.
I came from 20 to 22 a week ago
if you’re on xbox, it’s free with game pass right now
I played Fifa 21 until a week ago but 22 just came on the Xbox gamepass so I got it for free
Change from fifa 16 to 22, mainly because i Finally Saw Interresting features for cm, so Many changes and also some good features just gone….
I was stuck on fifa 18 for 3 years 😥
i play 20 didnt bother to buy 22 until 2 weeks ago when was on sale for £8! but im really enjoying career mode on it and may get 23
Stick to fifa 20. This new game is shit
Haha. Feel ya brother. I'm wondering whether it is worth getting 21/22. I don't currently have WiFi which is fine normally as I have so much phone data but for an update not so much which is what's put me off.
I moved over to 22 from 20 only recently. There are 5x more bugs but there is create a club which makes it slightly better than 20
fifa 18>>>
that's tuff, worst ever Fifa easily for me
I play fifa 19 lol
What feature ? More Scripten plays ?
Not missing much tbh
Same
😂
man i am playing FIFA 14 and it's okay if you're having fun
Still play FIFA 19 and I must say, I'm pretty content in terms of gameplay. Even though I still yearn to play with updated squads and kits.
I had over 2k hours of career mode on fifa 20 before I switched to 22 💀
I went back to FIFA 21 because compare it to 22, not worth the free upgrade
What new features?
What new features
I play 14
What new features?
"Enjoying" is pushing it
Wait Fifa 22 has new features?!? I gave up on FIFA like 3 years ago.
It was literally 8 dollars
holy shit same
It's not worth it, trust me.
i used to play 22 before my ps plus subscription ended (i got the game from the monthly game thing) and imo between 20 and 22 22 is better for many reasons
New features? You probably got more features 😅
This is me rn
Whats features?
I did a 2 year(reality) long 15 season career mode on fifa20. I’d still be playing it if they didn’t cap you at 15 years. fifa 22 was free tho 😸😸
everyone playing FIFA 20 vs me playing FIFA 14
What new features?
Definitely never buy 22
Enjoying is a bit of a stretch
Thought I was the only one out there...
I bought 21 second hand, currently playing 18.
I was stuck with fifa 14 until I got my new laptop
fifa 15 here lol
Me still playing FIFA 18
What new features? What did ea add to career mode except for the create a club feature you will use once.
Still on 20!
You ain’t missing out on much lol
19
You see the complaints all over this sub as well, don't you?
I was still on fifa 18 until October 2021
22 is out on Xbox game pass
22 is bad idc keepers are too op then let in shockers every game just bored of it tbh. No real difference in any game its just boring and scripted as hell. Unless someone knows realistic sliders the career mode is boring.
I play fifa 19 on ps 3
22's defending kills me. Your defenders regularly play the striker onside. Like the line stays, but one defender inexplicably sprints ahead of the opposing striker. That is just infuriating
Then there's me who switched to pes
I got fifa 22 just last week because it was on sale...
Dude I got fifa 22 for free with PS plus and yeah it's not all wow the amount of bugs EA still hasn't fixed is kind of ridiculous like the CF OVR bug its annoying because my CF should have a higher OVR but the stupid bug shows it as it being lower.
What new features? Lol
I played fifa 16 last week, it was a lot of fun
I play FIFA 21 still. 22 didn't add enough features to CM for me to buy it.
played 20 until last week, bought 22 on sale (84% discount) on PS4 tho. Here's my two cents. Jumping from 20 to 22 is pretty hard at first but some match and some FUT solo game later it's more manageable. You don't get extra sweet cutscene and the new engine on older console. Hahaha imagine not having jude bellingham ij your game
Extremely relatable.
This was me for the longest time with Fifa 18, shoutout to XBOX Game Pass tho
‘Enjoying’ is such a stretch, my dude. But not nearly as much of a stretch as ‘new features’.
Fifa22 is 13$cad rn in ps
