Not even "essentially", they're straight-up the same unit with the only difference being one is Red and the other Blue (since Sword/Lance/Axe are basically all the same weapon type).
I mean even looking further into it F!Kris is meant to be the damage dealer with Fury 4 in her kit. M!Kris is more of the ‘staying alive’ kind of guy with Noontime and his interesting A skill. So separating them seems like a logical choice based on their kits.
I mean... I'm not against them splitting them IF they're getting 2 different refine.
As it stand they're both just the exact same characters, so giving them something to differentiate each other would be nice.
Hope the Krises have different refines otherwise male is effectively wasting a slot when refine pace is already so slow, that would be unnecessarily delaying it more (Im not blaming M Kris Im blaming IS, just to be clear)

Another month without a demote refine is really disappointing, I hope they get back on those soon - I'm happy about F!Lyon getting his refine, but Mustafa should have come first so we could get back on track with those
I mean, there's really not much that can be done about it for now. Even if they did Mustafa now, it'd still be a while before we got to Ilyana. Demotes come around the same time as anyone else on their banners, and for now that's just Say'ri for Mustafa.
We only had 5 new unit refines last month. IS could’ve just started the 4.6 NH refines last month with Mustafa, instead of starting with Say’ri this month.
We always get five refines (four summonable, one grail) in months without remixes and seven (two remixes) in months with them. That's a slow pace sure, but nothing unique to last month in particular.
Refines don’t work that way.
There are two hard and fast rules with weapon refines
1. The main pool refines operate on a three banner rule
2. The seasonal refine locks out that colour for the refine batch.
Mustafa’s earliest possible date was always July because Bridal Nailah and Summer Selena both bottlenecked the Green slots forcing Annette and Fallen Lyon to drop in March & May respectively - running Mustafa now would’ve broken either Rule 1 or Rule 2 as the earliest date that Fallen Lyon would be refineable was July, which either breaks Rule 1 by forcing them to pause the Fallen banner (Ike would get refined alongside Mustafa and there’d be no greens in June), or breaks Rule 2 by pushing Summer Selena back in order to not break Rule 1
The next two batches of refines will probably be:
**June:** Nemesis / Fallen Ike / Awakening Anna / MKris / Summer Selena
**July:** Ashera / Nott / Galle / Mustafa / Julian / Gatrie / Summer Byleth
They were still wrapping up 4.3 and 4.4 though and Nailah was also green when they usually avoid color sharing if possible for the new power banners. Even then they probably would've gone for the more premium unit if that was an option which there was with Lyon. Non brave/8% banner refines have pretty consistently been done in order for a while so May was basically the earliest Mustafa would have happened
The problem's just that we're in this chunk of time when we weren't getting demotes/applicable demotes on banners. So we always get the same gap of "no demote refines" for a bit every time this happens.
* April - Demote was Forrest (staff unit, so he's not getting a refine)
* May - Fallen banner, no demotes
* June - Demotes were Emmeryn & Mustafa (Emmeryn was a staff unit, so she doesn't get a refine)
* July - Demote was Lena (staff unit, so she's not getting a refine)
* August - Brave banner, no demotes
It wouldn't be until _September_ that we'd get Ilyana, who's a demote applicable for a refine.
But end of the day, in that massive 5-month span of New Heroes banners, Mustafa was the singular, _only_ unit who's applicable for a refine.
Pedantic correction - the Brave refines are in September, not in August. This is only relevant because it means that the free summon expires right before that respective group of Braves get their refines

In theory, I haven't actually built my Say'ri at all though haha. I've never pulled for her specifically, and didn't get one until quite a while after she released. I have enough copies for a +2 now though, so I'll hope her refine is dope and see if I can't finally put something together for her.
The second most exciting here for me is actually Harmonic Mia. Still my favourite Harmonic, one of my favourite alts in the game actually, but horribly underwhelming today.
I'm actually quite excited for L!M!Byleth too, though I only have one copy I've grown to like Byleth a lot more lately, and L!M!Byleth has always had some of my favourite art regardless.
Seasonals are still slightly ahead of normal banners so there is no need for now, once normal banners get ahead of seasonals I can see they making 2 seasonals/2 normal units per month plus a ghb

Mia's interesting. Half of me hopes they might update her harmonic skill too since it's very underwhelming but given they haven't changed any duo skills or prf skills they probably won't.
Yea. Mia and Veronica could use an updated harmonic effect seeing as every other Harmonic since then has two or three effects at the same time. But sadly, you're 99% likely to be right in that they probably won't touch it.
Kinda doubt that they will go Julian next month; I'm leaning M!Kris myself, since July will very likely have Summer Byleth (Duos/Harmonics have typically come first), a Red Tome, and I don't think they'd break the "three main pool banners per batch" rule yet.

I think the summer banner would be slightly better as Lute's taking away from some of the colourless 4* pool so there's an incredibly tiny higher Mia rate but that's so irrelevant I wouldn't worry about it.
Edit: Actually there's also the also incredibly tiny part where the 4* Special Hero Special Rate exists and... also probably isn't changing much at all. It's going to distort the ratio in an even smaller way than Lute does but I guess there's a like 0.0whatever% rate you get an off-focus 4* special Mia. So basically it doesn't matter either.
I feel like Time's Pulse is a given for Hallowed Tyrfing, but what are we expecting to be the other big effect, fellas? Full DR Pierce on special proc? Noble Lance's atk-based true damage and true DR? Or do we expect IS to be spicy and give him L!Camilla's pre combat damage?
Or are we expecting IS to be boring and go super light on his refine and give him some boring-ass Clash? Or will they take Seliph's Miracle gimmick and give it to Sigurd, since it's technically Tyrfing's effect?
Isn't L!Claude a bit overdue for a refine? He's one of my only two legendary heroes I have at +10 for arena scoring but he's getting really difficult to use in the current meta.

If you ask me, Ilyana's not coming until something like October. Unless they do something like a double demote with Mustafa (who's all but guaranteed to show up in July now), the July blue slot will likely go to Gatrie, who I think is more favored because he's 5*; August has Summer Ingrid, a blue unit (IS has _never_ let the seasonal unit of the batch colorshare with anyone from the main pool); and September has CYL.
Legendary Guyleth refine might give the biggest clue to what Legendary byleth refine would be since they have pretty much the exact same weapons, either way tho I'm hoping he pops off he's too fucking cool

I used a Forma Soul on F!Kris during a HoF rerun a few months ago, in case F!Kris gets a seasonal alt where I can use her in a Tempest Trial. This is convenient, especially for others who also used a Forma Soul to get their F!Kris.

They'll both be 4 unit 3% with effectively the same rates. I think the summer banner would be slightly better as Lute's taking away from some of the colourless 4* pool so there's an incredibly tiny higher Mia rate but that's so irrelevant I wouldn't worry about it. Edit: Actually there's also the also incredibly tiny part where the 4* Special Hero Special Rate exists and... also probably isn't changing much at all. It's going to distort the ratio in an even smaller way than Lute does but I guess there's a like 0.0whatever% rate you get an off-focus 4* special Mia. So basically it doesn't matter either.

I feel like Time's Pulse is a given for Hallowed Tyrfing, but what are we expecting to be the other big effect, fellas? Full DR Pierce on special proc? Noble Lance's atk-based true damage and true DR? Or do we expect IS to be spicy and give him L!Camilla's pre combat damage? Or are we expecting IS to be boring and go super light on his refine and give him some boring-ass Clash? Or will they take Seliph's Miracle gimmick and give it to Sigurd, since it's technically Tyrfing's effect?
Isn't L!Claude a bit overdue for a refine? He's one of my only two legendary heroes I have at +10 for arena scoring but he's getting really difficult to use in the current meta.
He came out before Sigurd and Byleth so yeah.

If you ask me, Ilyana's not coming until something like October. Unless they do something like a double demote with Mustafa (who's all but guaranteed to show up in July now), the July blue slot will likely go to Gatrie, who I think is more favored because he's 5*; August has Summer Ingrid, a blue unit (IS has _never_ let the seasonal unit of the batch colorshare with anyone from the main pool); and September has CYL.

F! Lyon, I plus 10’d you within hours of debut and have still cherished you as an iteration of Fomortiis, but please get an F! Julia tier refine so you can thrive. Almost could copy and paste even, but I’d appreciate some True Damage reduction, and or negate pre-emptive burn damage. I don’t the ink they’ll give end turn capabilities. Kris, slow merge project of mine, hoping she gets something good. Petrine: been waiting for final merges until her refine, so here’s to hoping it’s good. I don’t think they’ll make L! Sigurd too much stronger like L! Seliph since he had his time in the Sun and Safety fence existing now. L! Byleth, could get something, I picture more than L! Sigurd if one of them is going to have a slightly better refine. Duo hope you all that have her get something great. - tldr; I hope they all get great refines, but the one I hope for most is my beloved Fomortiis Lyon.
