I'm not very outdoorsy but I think a lot of people would be surprised how satisfying it is to catch your own food

Hell yeah, good job. A good tip is to brain and bleed fish as quickly as you can if you intend on eating them. Then put them on ice. It makes the quality of the meat better because stressed fish release stress hormones that don't taste good. The meat won't be bad but not as good as it could be.

After how many years of fishing for catfish, I have never thought to myself, hey, I could just cut the barbs off while I clean the fish....I feel dumb.
