No, front brake is enough. If you’re stopping as quickly as possible your back wheel has almost no weight on it, so a brake there doesn’t add stopping power.
If you're riding it as a single speed you can disregard the foot retention comments and add a rear brake instead.. if you plan on flipping that rear wheel and riding it fixed then foot retention
Id look into a form of foot retention first and quickly. Maybe change the seat to something that matches the rest of the bike more in terms of sporty looks, this seat looks like a cushion.
Lmaoooo you bought this at the bike jumble on Saturday. I saw this exact bike there. Kilo is a decent entry level fixed gear bike, but I personally could do without all the red. It’ll get you around, should be fairly reliable.
Where do we begin with this... First of all please flip the wheel as other suggested, it will actually be a fixed gear bicycle as opposed to a non fixed gear bicycle as ot is now.
When you have the wheel off, make sure to check the tire for a rotation arrow and make sure it's pointing foward when the fixed gear is on the right side (where the chain is).
When this is done, you will absolutely need some foot retention, straps are not that expensive and will allow you to ride fixed and actually break with your legs without breaking them.
As for the looks, this saddle has to go IMO.
Look for something more road oriented, less cusiony and all black, lose some of the red accents in order to make it slicker and a little less "amazony".
For the rest you'll probably want a better wheelset in the future and clip-on pedals.
As it is right now I think this build belongs on X-biking more than it does here, if that's the look you're going for than great !
Hope you have fun with your new bike!!!
hey lots of know it alls in the comments, and my opinion doesn't matter as long as it gets you out there enjoying riding in any capacity if it puts a smile on your face, then it's a great bike! don't forget to wear a helmet and if you are indeed freewheeling in the rear a rear brake is recommended. Enjoy!
Flip both the wheels, then your tread is going the right way and the rear will be fixed. I have those same tires, they are backwards.
Get some straps, and then loose the gear brake (keep the front).
One day, get nicer wheels.
The rest of the upgrades can wait, you gotta make it fixed first.

That's a freewheel
It’s not a fixed gear if you have a freewheel on it
Shouldn’t it at least have a back brake then?
Debateable, my money is on no even with a single speed, front brake does most of the work.

I used to ride ss with front brake only for years but now I'm using pussy strats and have both on fixed gear. Can't beat 3 brakes

Darth Maul bike 🤠
To much red, not enough black. 😄 Get some straps and a helmet, please. Enjoy!
This screams « 2012 fixie » so loud
I was JUST going to say this. But there's nothing wrong with that, it's your bike and that's the beauty of the fixed gear community
You shut up. I got my mercier in 2002! She still rides like a beast!
They meant the color scheme
You’ll need foot retention. Have fun.
Personally, I’d switch out all the red

Like it's 2012 all over again
2007 called and it wants it PBR back

The tower of spacers...
Flip that back wheel and you can join our club!
Did you buy off a Sith Lord? 😂 jk...solid bike get some kind of foot retention tho
This is giving me thruster vibes ngl

Kilo is always a treat. Great color! 🔥
I think that’s a pretty sick bike. Get ready for endless “upgrades” and mild obsession
Less red/trying to match colors

Enjoy your ride
Needs straight bars!
it looks like its too big for you. its also not a fixed gear.
Still got the price tag! Lol
Kilo TTs are good bikes
That's slick
Flip the wheel your on freewheel my boy
Best way to ride a fixie is to the garage where you will find an actual drivetrain to install on this monstrosity
My God are those things still around?

Terrible advice for fit. What if the reach is not appropriate?
Looks good!
It’s like a regular bike, but harder. Good job
You don’t need foot retention btw, those are the chicken leg dudes that struggle with locking their legs and shifting weight
Tark Nasty for sure
