Do not for the love of god put a Cobb flash tune on your car. To answer your question that catback is not stock it’s the borla ford performance one.

CalebPandaMotorworks

\^\^\^ Cobb OTS are very generic. They get the job done, but not recommended. That is why you buy a Cobb Accessport from a company like us that provide a FREE custom tune with purchase of an AP. That way you have a tune specific to your vehicle with your mods. Would be happy to answer any questions, might even be able to save you some $$ on one :) [https://www.pandamotorworks.com/search?type=article%2Cpage%2Cproduct&q=focus\*+st\*+accessport\*](https://www.pandamotorworks.com/search?type=article%2Cpage%2Cproduct&q=focus*+st*+accessport*)

Can confirm I got mine from panda and i have not had a single problem and they reply super fast whenever i hit em up 😎

CalebPandaMotorworks

Ayee great to hear man!

Specific_Author2432

I second Panda. They have been great to work with. 👍

Styleyriley

I got my AP from Mountune with their OTS tune (MP275 kit). Do you know if it's possible to add tunes to their version of the AP?

OUberLord

Seconding this. For the price you pay it's worth getting a custom tune. With Panda in particular I've been using a 91 tune as well as an E30 one in a car that has seen extensive autocross and track use, and it's been bulletproof.

Trick-Mechanic8986

Tuned in street class? That's not cool...

OUberLord

Technically this photo was before the tune, but good to point that out regardless.

jeepersnanners

This coming from the company who has fucked more people out of built motors and bad tunes than we can count at this point... How many blown up built engines is it now? And unshipped orders?

Wild-Drummer-1312

Yeah and then it will take weeks to show up, and you’ll have the worst customer service 🙃

CalebPandaMotorworks

Nope! Got them in stock ready to go. Only reason something would take weeks is if it's backordered. I am sorry you seemed to have a bad experience. While rare, we always get those issues squared away, and if we didn't, its because we didn't know there was an issue. Feel free to shoot me a message, id be happy to clear things up!

Wild-Drummer-1312

Nah never again. Wasn’t back ordered it was just “gonna ship soon” and took forever. Like 3 weeks just to ship. Then another week or two to show up. Then when I made the return you took almost 3 weeks to give me my refund. And barely responded to emails. Please guys do not buy shit from these ppl

CalebPandaMotorworks

If it took 3 weeks and was "shipping soon"... it was on backorder. We don't intentionally hold customers parts just out of spite lol. Refunds always take 10-14 business days Again, sorry you had a bad experience, but that is not the case for 95% of customers. Our hundreds of 5 star reviews and other comments on this post show that

Wild-Drummer-1312

Refund was 17 business days. All I got was a sorry

Papsanch

Does that mean I would be good to get a tune? What would you recommend?

Joebuddy117

You can get a tune with zero part upgrades, just don’t run the stock Cobb tunes. Get a real tune from someone like stratified, jst, or any of the several other trusted tuners that are discussed here or on focusst.org.

Zrepsilon

Yes perfectly fine to get a tune. But you want a custom tune from someone like edge or stratified. The Cobb flash tunes reduce the sensitivity of engine safety parameters (knock sensors etc) to what in my opinion is an unsafe level.

nyuORlucy

Cobb flash tunes are fine. The hate for them is bandwagon paranoia

Somerockenguy

I'd like to agree with this. 218k being tuned since like 10k, and a Cobb ots since 30k after I got tired of the shit crackle tune young me bought. Intercooler, axle back, green filter, colder plugs.

Yeah that is the exhaust I want, i just dont want to pay for it. The cobb stage one tune is a generic off the shelf tune. You will be better off getting the cobb access port from a company like stratified. When you buy the AP they will give you some nice custom options for your tune. When you get the AP delivered it will only have the cobb generic tunes, what you need to so then is follow the instructions from stratified. You will need to use the access port to analyze data from your car then send that data to stratified and they will make a tune based on that data and any mods on your car and the oct ratio of the gas you use. Your downpipe will be what connects your turbo charger to the exhaust, we cant see it in these photos

Mrinohk

As others have said, don't run the OTS tunes that come with the Accessport. If you haven't read up on Low-Speed Pre-Ignition, or LSPI, you should. The short version is to not make much, if any boost below 3000 rpm to avoid damaging and potentially ruining the engine. The Cobb OTS tunes have really aggressive throttle mapping, so while the tune itself is pretty mild in terms of gains, the throttle opens way to fast with too little throttle input and will make a ton of boost well before it's safe to do so. It's easy to accidentally kill your motor with those tunes. As others have said, stay on Cobb stage 0 until you can get tuned properly by edge, jst, stratified, monstertuned, etc. I like monster's tune because it's functionally the stock tune, all engine safety logic intact, but just straight up faster once you put your foot in it. It also removes some annoying behavior like the massive rev hang and shift lights, but I think most tunes do that. With your current mods, you should be good to be custom tuned. The biggest things are intercooler and colder spark plugs. Make sure you've got those plugs and the intercooler and you're good to go. Do not run Cobb OTS tunes, except for stage 0.

OMYBLUEBERY_

I've had a stage 2 93 OTC cobb tune for like 3 years now. I don't redline my car ever, or drive it like I stole it all the time. YMMV but it isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I do second getting a tune from Edge, if you have the funds. Nothing but good stories and they can read the data and inform you of any issues they can spot. Ford performance exhaust is a nice addition too.

thrice1187

I ran an OTC Cobb tune for the last couple years and didn’t appear to have any problems. My turbo did just shit the bed though. Was it the tune? Idk

DoNotDisturb-2741

I’ve been around this platform since 2014 and I e seen hundreds of motors pop because of OTS Tunes from Cobb.

OMYBLUEBERY_

I agree, I've also seen them pop. But that's just a few who voice their issues looking for others of similar circumstance, out of thousands. I'm not saying it isn't risky, but the chances are low. I do advocate in seeking a proper tune from professionals though if someone is seeking reliability.

Ferniekicksbutt

Yeah same, I'm well aware of lspi and never wot it on 5th or 6th gear. The 91 tune isn't bad for daily driving. The boost is predictable and is only running like 18lbs of boost.  Just don't get carried away with it. If you are looking for north of 300hp then yeah I recommend something else

OMYBLUEBERY_

Yeah I'm pretty happy with where it's at as my daily. My 2nd gear went smooth on me a year or so ago so I can't even drive it hard like I used to lol

jdmdriftkid

10k miles on a Stage 1 OTS tune with 0 issues. If you don't know about LSPI and how to properly drive and take care of these engines, get a legit tune. I'm finally going to get an Edge tune, but again, no issue with a OTS Stage 1 tune, and it passes California Emissions testing.

numbr1bullshitguy

Bro’s got one of the most desirable exhausts and didn’t even know about it..

KinkyKoala11

300$ Allan at edge autosport will take care of you and educate you if needed. Just check the forums people can’t recommend him enough

Papsanch

Does the $300 include the access port? I constantly see “cob access port from ____ Brand $600-$650”. If I go to Allan at edge, is that all included? I know someone else dropped a link but I just wanna make sure that was the right thing before I go buying it.

KinkyKoala11

It does not, 300 just covers the whole etuning process with Allan. I would get one off FB marketplace or a Focus ST group page for 250ish , not worth buying new for 600.

vin_DOT

Stage 1 tune can be done completely stock, just unlocks some power from the motor so yes you meet the requirements. But that is not a stock exhaust looks like Ford performance exhaust. To go stage 2 you need an air intake and rear motor mount with the intercooler.

rageattheworld

Ford performance exhaust made by borla.
