It’s labeled as Langer’s on the menu so either made in house or sourced private label (unlike Dr Browns or something) came in a big plastic cup so it was from a fountain.
I don’t mean to sound rude or impolite, but I have lived in LA my whole life and if you are expecting Jewish delis to be the same price as a coffee shop or fast food place, I think you’re crazy because they have they serve higher quality food and they they’ve ALWAYS been more expensive—Factor’s, Canter’s, Langer’s, Art’s and now Wexler’s, etc.
The only lower cost pastrami and Reuben sandwiches in town WERE at the Arby’s on Sunset Boulevard that recently closed, but they were still no comparison to the type you get at a good Jewish deli.
If you want a cheap pastrami sandwich, they sell them for $12 at the Franklin Café near the Griffith Park golf course—they’re not the same as a Jewish deli, but if you’re frugal and penny pinching for that price they’re decent. They don’t look the same as a Jewish deli and they do not have the same amount of meat and they don’t have coleslaw on them either, but if you want a cheap self serve one for $12 there you go.
Just be aware that if you go at a busy time on a weekend it fills up fast, last two times I've gone there have been no spots and multiple cars lined up waiting for spots to open.
People make such a big deal out of the #19 when it's less pastrami and Russian dressing and Swiss aren't like amazing or anything. Yes coleslaw is nice but I get it on the side and put some on my sandwich. Regular hot pastrami sandwich gang rise up.
Katz canceled all the Postmates orders - I put in an order literally at 11am and by 2:30 they canceled it. The yelp reviews are hilarious and plentiful. Any goodwill they were hoping to get was destroyed today by that colossal fuckup

Postmates and the shop said that you should order through Postmates. The shop wasn’t open for a while and then I placed my order, which they canceled 30 min before I was supposed to get it.
I went to langers 1 time and they refused to give me a table .i don’t want to assume it’s because im brown but i did see nothing but white folks in there .i got my sandwhich to go instead and I hate that it was so good lmao (idc if it’s because im brown or not the place was worth it)😭😭😂😂
I was asked to get off my table while I was eating once so they could give it to the chief of police. I said, what if I say no. They said then they'll kick me out. That place is a regular to a lot of the city hall and upper levels of lapd crowd. They were probably holding a table for some of them.
I hear you but the place had about 10 tables open lol .idc about being brown or being discriminated against .did funny to me to see that happen still .im just saying i didnt go in to detail if the whole thing but other than that the place is worth it .not to mention i know personally one of the main investors of the place lol

I was pissed about Katz’s sandwich being $45 but this is almost as bad. That’s an absurd price for pastrami.
