They absolutely grow in size, though I don't know how common it is for the size change to be so significant as to require remeasuring. I went from an 8 1/2 to a 9 myself and now, I can wear either size, so I guess I'm like an 8 3/4 or an 8 9/16 or something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It all depends on whether they are at risks of complications in the pregnancy. My ex-wife had pre-eclampsia and her ankles and feet became so swollen that she could only wear flip flops. But it’s not a rule.
I have never heard or experienced feet measuring due to pregnancy. I'm not saying she is lying, but it is highly unusual. Some people do experience chances in foot size, but not every person
