True but they were around for over 100 million years. The fact they made the last episode really the LAST episode for all dinosaurs was not something that they had to do. They could have hoped for another season and left it at a cliffhanger but they didn't.
As a kid I thought I was missing the next dvd, so i just put in a disc I hadn’t watched yet and pretended the story continued there.
Loved how the story ended with the baby doing a commercial for a frying pan
Edit: spelling
That ending was the point of making the whole show. It was brilliant social commentary that a lot of adults didn’t catch at the time because they didn’t pay much attention to the show. I was a kid at the time and caught how brilliant it really was.
Yeah the fox was a prissy bastard and hung out with her because she was cool. Cool meaning having good (expensive) fashion. She eventually stopped buying new clothes and the fox bounced because she was no longer cool.
Whoa, how have I never heard about this ending? Seems like the writers were pissed about getting cancelled and wanted to dump some of that grief on to the audience.
Yea, that son and daughter was just as much Bart and Lisa Simpson as it was Eddie and Laura Winslow or countless others. That was just the format. Fat ridiculous dad + reasonable mom + cool teen son + smart daughter + cute kid/baby + crazy neighbor.
Damn near every show was that and Dinosaurs was a satire of it.
I've never forgotten this show. It'll probably always live rent-free in my head
Every time I see it anywhere, I have to say, "Not the mama!" no matter what's going on lol
The “I Blame You Mama” was such a powerful episode for a first generation kid growing up with a narcissistic mother.
This show is directly responsible for much of my emotional awareness.
Does this really count as forgotten?
It was pretty popular back in the day, people still talk about the ending, & Disney did a whole ad campaign surrounding its release on Disney+.
That was my favorite show as a kid. Every week I looked forward to staying up and watching it. Then came the series finale and boy did I grow up a bit that day. Gut punch right to the childish innocence.
What Sexual Harris meant is a great episode.
The show has so many ahead of their time satire and ideas for the early nineties, also wildly expensive in the best way.
Definitive "they don't make them like they use to!"
I don't know the specifics, but who is making a show with nothing but puppets and props, good concept and writing and good voice acting week after week?
It's a shame Jim Henson didn't get to see it. It's like South Park but every episode took the level of effort as Team America: World Police, only there was no swearing... and I read that Jim wanted the swearing.
My first favorite show.
Not forgotten. Hellova show. This was one of the many where you heard something nuts was gonna happen so you taped an episode, often the season finale. If memory serves, the teen Dino in the letterman jacket was either voiced by, or the suit actor was, a former TMNT cast.
I worked on this show. Huge crew, 14 hour days, constant interference with the Burbank airport when using wireless ( telemetry). Made a shit ton of money the 2 years I was there. “ not the mama”
Oh I’m sorry just because the premise was dumb and the writing was bad and the jokes weren’t funny and it dragged on for five years it’s a bad show? Don’t you know everything from the 90s was awesome smdh

They killed these mf'ers off in the end! Amazing.
Pretty shocking ending to be honest.
Straight up wold ending meteor. Don’t hate the baby
Nope - deforestation leading to massive climate change and the Ice Age.
"It's gotta stop, right?"
Best series ending ever. I remember watching this finale and being fucking stunned.
Same. I mean what a hardcore way to end the series.
I mean it’s about dinosaurs. It’s hard to mention dinosaurs in any context without bringing up their extinction and the theory behind it.
True but they were around for over 100 million years. The fact they made the last episode really the LAST episode for all dinosaurs was not something that they had to do. They could have hoped for another season and left it at a cliffhanger but they didn't.
Imagine if they made it today. No way in hell would it end like that or they would t even make it.
Have you ever seen any episode of Rick and Morty, some of them are trauma inducing.
As a kid I thought I was missing the next dvd, so i just put in a disc I hadn’t watched yet and pretended the story continued there. Loved how the story ended with the baby doing a commercial for a frying pan Edit: spelling
This was on dvd? I only had vhs
Holy crap. I just watched the last two episodes. I thought it'd be an unavoidable astroid... Turns out it's completely avoidable what we're doing.
You're talking about capitalism, right? I can dig up a great video essay that breaks down the show's thesis.
That ending was the point of making the whole show. It was brilliant social commentary that a lot of adults didn’t catch at the time because they didn’t pay much attention to the show. I was a kid at the time and caught how brilliant it really was.
Yeah, more needlessly destructive capitalism.
*we're gonna need another timmy!*
Never seen the ending. I don't watch the end of a lot of shows. Google says it's completion anxiety.
Only one way it *could* end
I was shook watching the finale as a kid.
That ending.... like whoa
"And taking a look at the long-range forecast: Continued snow, darkness and extreme cold. This is Howard Handupme. Good night...goodbye."
They were actually planning something for the next season but they got canceled.
I remember an episode where the daughter buys this expensive coat that’s a living fox and it talks and goes, “I’m _better_ than _you_ are!”
Doesn't it eventually decide she sucks and goes off to live on someone else's shoulders? It's been decades so I could be wrong.
Yeah the fox was a prissy bastard and hung out with her because she was cool. Cool meaning having good (expensive) fashion. She eventually stopped buying new clothes and the fox bounced because she was no longer cool.
Wow that show was deep.
A Jim Henson production that got canceled due to how expensive the animtorics and costumes were to make it all work.
Yet it got 4 seasons… unheard of in today’s penny pincher Hollywood climate
Not the mama
I'm da baby gotta love me
Remember the awesome baby Sinclair music video lol loved it
I still have the CD.
Really that’s so cool
EetooaahharrI'mdying youidiot Sinclair. Aka Baby Sinclair!
Coming here to say that! lol loved this show as a kid. Ending tho. Woof
Ending for those who are curious: https://youtu.be/bnFjAkAs_q4?si=5zIZ6FbwUt3oBC8v
Whoa, how have I never heard about this ending? Seems like the writers were pissed about getting cancelled and wanted to dump some of that grief on to the audience.
I'm pretty sure that's not the end There's like 2 more episodes after iirc
My 34 year old daughter still calls me this
I could never look at Bill Barr without thinking of that line.
We still say this in my house at least 50 times a week.
I don’t know why but the episode where the son takes the equivalent of dinosaur steroids lives rent free in my mind
You mean when Robbie takes Thornoids ? lol ya the episode is called “steroids to heaven”
Wait… ME TOO
The episode is one of the best satires of the high school genre and afterschool specials in the 80s/90s
I came to mention that episode. What a crazy show dinosaurs was…. Like totally insane.
There’s also an episode where the family is basically eating marijuana. The episode is called “A New Leaf”
NOT THE MAMA
This show was a direct response to the success of "The Simpsons". The characters are almost exactly The Simpsons but in dinosaur form.
"It's like they saw our lives and put it right up on screen!" Took me longer than I'd like to admit that I realized the line was a burn :/
Similar but it's more like they were satirizing all the 80s early 90s sitcom tropes. You just are preoccupied with the Simpsons did it mentality.
Idk if they’re fixated, all they did was draw a conclusion about one show.
The dad is basically Ralph Kramden.
And his best friend was definitely Ed Norton
Next thing you know you'll be claiming The Flintstones is a honeymooner's rip off too. ;)
WoW you watched that Simpson where they stated this too
Sad ending
Damnit Earl
*Goodnight.* *Goodbye.*
- Howard Handupme
https://youtu.be/bnFjAkAs_q4?si=5zIZ6FbwUt3oBC8v
Dang, it ran for four seasons? For some reason I always thought it only lasted one.
NOT THE MAMA! Coach would come on afterwards. I always flipped the channel lol
Dad’s supervisor was a pitch-perfect toxic boss.
You don’t need more money Sinclair, you need less family!
I've never forgotten this show. It'll probably always live rent-free in my head Every time I see it anywhere, I have to say, "Not the mama!" no matter what's going on lol
Not sure this is forgetten. It kind of a cult classic and an iconic show.
Smoo!
Smoo!
Flark!
"We're gonna need another Timmy."
This was way down here, This was my favorite part. There has to be a compilation of these
[earl was a very accomplished rapper](https://youtu.be/C8vmlww9708?si=R-mw_nZtmINiMrPp)
Was scrolling until found this comment! That mashup is a treasure.
Bet you, it's on TUBI
What isn’t on Tubi these days?
All the new meaningless shit found on Netflix.
Touchè.
The “I Blame You Mama” was such a powerful episode for a first generation kid growing up with a narcissistic mother. This show is directly responsible for much of my emotional awareness.
Anyone have the soundtrack? Probably the first cassette I had as a kid I’m sure my mom hated it
Wow, you unlocked a memory there. “Work, work, work, work…”
lol poor slobs with terrible jobs 😭😭
Definitely not forgotten
Does this really count as forgotten? It was pretty popular back in the day, people still talk about the ending, & Disney did a whole ad campaign surrounding its release on Disney+.
The ending was so unnerving. Imo
not the mama!
This fucking show... XD
The last episode of this show was BRUTAL.
Craziest end to a sitcom ever
Ah yes...the biweekly Dinosaurs post. Of course.
One of the best shows ever.
Never forget this show
[Baby (also Elmo) has a meltdown on the Dinosaurs set](https://youtu.be/Xkqle9KQ8FQ?si=bMqvDbbv7Vu6RrIp) 🤣😂🤣
IM DA BABY GOTTA LOVE ME
Take off your top!
I used to have a talking stuffed animal of Baby Sinclair. I loved that damn thing.
Not the mama, not the mama, not the mama!
Must not be too forgotten this being like the 3rd post of this show in this sub
The final episode was probably my first existential breakdown.
Seriously. I rewatched the final scene a few weeks ago and I was just depressed the rest of the day.
It is definitely up there as one of the most spooky episodes of a TV show ever made. The charm of the show turned into dred and sadness.
Not the mama
That was my favorite show as a kid. Every week I looked forward to staying up and watching it. Then came the series finale and boy did I grow up a bit that day. Gut punch right to the childish innocence.
We have not forgotten
Not forgotten this us one of the most loved shows for 90s kids
Let’s find out what Sexual Harris Meant
What Sexual Harrass really meant lol
I think this was on the TGIF block if I remember right
Not the mama!
The happy plant episode was outstanding, Sherman Hemsley as Richfield rocking out to Purple Haze slays me.
Loved tv shows in the early 90s. 🥹
"I'M THA BABY!"
I cried when it was the final episode, back in 95 (14 at the time). Then my parents told me I was grounded from watching TV for the next two months.
If we don't learn from the ending of dinosaurs, then we are doomed to repeat the ending of dinosaurs.
My brother in Christ no one has forgotten this show
What Sexual Harris meant is a great episode. The show has so many ahead of their time satire and ideas for the early nineties, also wildly expensive in the best way.
Robbie looks like Jake Gyllenhaal
Me and the wife watched the first episode the other day. The show is nuts, hilarious and oddly sexist
Gone but not forgotten
The Wesayso corporation.
“Not the mama!”
Because We Say So!
No I’m afraid these creatures will Haunt my dreams until the day I die and I even liked the show lol
*Not the mama!* Never forgotten!
My dad had an action figure of the daddy Dino on his desk when I was a kid
The Exorcist episode is fuckin wild
The ending tho.
Straight up watching this on Disney+ recently. It holds up
Watched this a few weeks ago lmao
I MADE A BIG POOP!
Still remember the final episode😢😢😢
Dinosaurs is Forgotten TV??? Are you high?
Amazing television
This show taught me that steroids would make me grow cool spikes
Greatest series ending ever
They never was nor will there ever be a sitcom as horrendously awful as this one was 🥵😫🤢🤮☠️
I remember seeing the last episode with my brothers, i was like wait there is more, right? Right????
Not tha mama
Definitive "they don't make them like they use to!" “Not the Mama!”
I can’t look at Bill Barr without thinking “NOT the Mama!”
"I'm the baby, gotta love me, big round eyes, I'm very cuddly!"
I wouldn’t say this is forgotten. For those of us who watched this show will forever be remembered as an absolute classic.
This was on the air at the same time as Seinfeld?? How did little me enjoy both of those shows at the same time?
Not forgotten. Hellova show. This was one of the many where you heard something nuts was gonna happen so you taped an episode, often the season finale. If memory serves, the teen Dino in the letterman jacket was either voiced by, or the suit actor was, a former TMNT cast.
When I had my son, I got a shirt with the baby on it and the words “Not The Mama” underneath. Great shirt.
"Not the Mama!"
Like it or not, this show changed something *fundamental* about the way we watch TV
Show creeped me out
I worked on this show. Huge crew, 14 hour days, constant interference with the Burbank airport when using wireless ( telemetry). Made a shit ton of money the 2 years I was there. “ not the mama”
Epic series finale. I’ve seen edgy police dramas that didn’t end on such a dark note.
I bought these all of dvd like 10 years ago. Such a great show.
I accidentally taped 2 episodes of this show over my sister’s wedding video.
I'm the baby, gotta love me
This would be a cool show to do a reboot of.
Who is the baby
Not the mama
It's Hurling Day!
I will never forget the episode where the mom had a boss named “Sexual Harris” who predictably behaved inappropriately towards her.
“Im the Baby gotta love me”
Banger
Not the momma not the momma
Beer! Cigarettes! CHICKS!
not forgotten not forgotten
One of my all-time favorite series. I am "Not the Mama" to my son.
never seen the show at all but the finale is just so god damn dark
Not the mama not the mama
Not Forgotten!
Not the baby lol
This show was perfect
The only thing I know about this show is that it's extremely progressive even by modern day standards and the ending
I can hear the theme song easily
It was awful even for the time it came out. I remember being so excited and then let down hard
Not the mama
Most depressing ending ever. I was 7, God dammit. Why did you do this to me.
Somebody’s got to say it not the manma
Not the Mama
NOT THE MAMA
I'm da baby
Not the daddy loved it ❤️❤️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Loved the show, but this poster oddly looks AI generated.
This was my era, but I couldn’t connect with this show. Didn’t like it.
Not forgotten, I was just stuck behind a piece of Gouda.
Multiple seasons and currently on Disney* NOT FORGOTTEN. Just from the past.
There's a lot of not forgotten tv in this reddit.
The only thing that’s truly been forgotten is the ability to moderate a sub
I loved this show.
NOT DA MOMMA!!
It's baby mike pompeo!
Surprised this show lasted that long. It was god-awful.
Oh I’m sorry just because the premise was dumb and the writing was bad and the jokes weren’t funny and it dragged on for five years it’s a bad show? Don’t you know everything from the 90s was awesome smdh
Tbf 3 year old me loved it, thought it was basically Growing Pains but with Dinosaurs.
They promoted the fuck out of this stupid ass show if I’m not mistaken. Then they laid a big old dinosaur egg (pun intended).
This show was beyond awful. I wanted nothing more than for that annoying-a$$ PoS “baby” to be killed off ASAP.
And we got our wish eventually
I like how Trump was in the show
