I loved this show as a kid, and I knew I didn't get a lot of the jokes, but still loved it. I can't believe it ran until 2002! I really wanna find and watch this now
This show had such binge potential. It had such a strong concept with having the comedians basically lay out sets in a therapy session. I first learned of so many funny & talented people from this show as a child. It was the introduction of H Jon Benjamin for me. Laura Silverman was fantastic and Jonathan Katz is amazing. I watched him later in "Home Movies."
Ah, my introduction to the comedic genius that is H. Jon Benjamin!
This was such a great platform to feature various stand-up comedians of the time to get some of their best material out there. I'd love a "reboot" where Ben is the therapist for today's various comics. Hard to replace Jon Katz, though....
That’d be awesome. Benjamin’s voice is hypnotic. When I first saw archer I was wracking my brain where I had heard his voice before. It was like 4-5 episodes before it hit me it was this show.
“My dad used to smoke… a lot. He tried everything to quit. He tried hypnosis… but it didn’t take. Then he tried that thing… with all the needles… *heroin*… he loves it. Loves it. We can’t get it away from him now.”
Honestly agree with the title this is one of the greatest shows of all time, and I’ve watched it over and over again. One of those shows when life is shit or I’m feeling like shit I pop in a dvd and just get away
Not exactly. It was on for about four, then had a special episode a few years later. They’ve also done some live performances which are absolutely excellent. If only they could have gotten Dom Irrera to appear. Those Dom eps were my faves!

It's all on YouTube!! I often put it on autoplay and listen to it while I sleep. His voice is quite soothing.
Yes! I was hoping it was on there but hadn't looked yet. Thank you!
It only “ran” til 2002 bc there was a bonus episode with conan that aired then. I think it was over by 98
Ahhh, that makes more sense. I didn't look it up yet, but I remember watching this show during a specific age range lol. Ty!

Still one of my favorites of all time and is quoted nearly daily.
I still quote the manatee bit all the time. "Ricki, I can't get laid"
Loved this show, especially the ever-insouciant Laura. "Doctor Katz, the patients are trying to talk to me again."
Laura…? Laura! LAURRRRRAAAAAAA!!!!
She’s a big-ol-ball-o-bitch
Squigglevision
Back when comedy central would run this in those long marathon blocks the squiggles would make me feel sick

Same. I ended up rewatching a ton dr Katz after season 1 of Archer.
We’ve got the meats
One of the best shows ever
Manatee!
You don’t have to shift that car, it’s an automatic. Have you been shifting?
The thing about the passing lane is it's not a great place to do all your daydreaming.
Mostly I've been honking the horn and going woo WOO at the ladies
Which foot are you breaking with?
I’ve been doing that relaxing thing with needles.
Hey Doc, I’m going to do better. I’ll brush twice per day, and I’m even going to get some of that string.
Got back into this show during Covid, after having watched it in my teenage years. Still too notch
I think this played late night
Cat gets booted across the room. "I was going this way anyways..."
“My dad used to smoke… a lot. He tried everything to quit. He tried hypnosis… but it didn’t take. Then he tried that thing… with all the needles… *heroin*… he loves it. Loves it. We can’t get it away from him now.”
I think about this show every time I’m using Excel when I copy data from cells and the lines around them get all squiggly.
Damn this show takes me back to when Comedy Central was just starting out.
Back when Comedy Central had 4 shows and 12 hours of infomercials
I think I’m having some sort of seizure
In my opinion, this is the best show with this type of animation. Yes, I know about THAT show, but I LOVED this show.
Man, that show was hilarious but the animation style drove me bonkers.
Darth Fererra? No, Dom Irrera!
Dan and Mary?
My gf asked who emo Phillips was the other day and I went straight to Dr katz
If that was Jimmy Peterson, he would’ve grown up too.
Work from home. Make money. These are good things.
Great show, too many funny sessions
Such a clever idea
It’s so weird listening to early Archer/Bob Belcher in these episodes.
Most of it is on YouTube..
I loved this show.
The one with Dennis Leary and the darth vader bank is hilarious and lives in my head rent free
Loved this show
I know it’s a great show I just can’t look at it for too long
This show was such a gem. A showcase for late 90s stand up comedy.
never knew this was Sarah Silverman’s sister. but Laura is way better.
I had a crush on Laura just like Ben did.
Classic!
YOU shut up and be free!!
The whole goddamn things on YouTube it's amazing I keep shooting myself with laughter it's literally the reason this sub was created
Gone but it no way forgotten. These clips are still all over the place.
This made me dizzy
I would kill the see a crossover of this with *Home Movies*
The audible reboot was pretty decent. Too bad didn’t do it too long.
This show is unbelievable!!! ❤️ ❤️❤️ The guests on this!!!
Fantastic and completely unforgettable!
Ever since I found this sub always waited to see this one posted .. indeed greatest show of all time
I wish it would come back. For a minute there, Amazon was presenting Dr. Katz as an audible and I listened to every episode, it's so brilliant
OMG I loved this show.
Perfect format for comedians to do their material, great side stories. My sister and I LOVED Katz!
Honestly agree with the title this is one of the greatest shows of all time, and I’ve watched it over and over again. One of those shows when life is shit or I’m feeling like shit I pop in a dvd and just get away
Excellent show and great writing, with cool guests.
Dr. Katz! I think I’m falling hard for… Dr. Katz! And even though I know that it ain’t right… every night… it’s me and him in my dreams In my dreams!
It's binge before binge
It’s not for everyone - but it was and is for me!
Reboot!
Some of the shows posted on here have surprising runs... You're telling me this was on the air for 7 years?!
Not exactly. It was on for about four, then had a special episode a few years later. They’ve also done some live performances which are absolutely excellent. If only they could have gotten Dom Irrera to appear. Those Dom eps were my faves!
Never noticed it before but Ben Katz really looks like Adam Duritz. Was that on purpose?
