That theme song probably terrorized my parents
Iām scared to click the link because I know it wont leave my head for ages once Iāve heard it again.
Heathcliff, Heathcliff, no one should,
Terrify their neighborhood!
But Heathcliff just won't be undone,
Playing pranks on everyone!
There's a race to be on top,
The competition doesn't stop
Watching this just makes me wonder though....why did the car have a fan on the back, and when Cleo and the leader (can't think of his name) drop into the bathtub....HOW DOES THAT FLY!?!
Real questions her folks. Real questions.
Mom: We have Garfield at home.
I remember this coming on in the late '80s during the week and thinking that it was just a poor version of Garfield. Still watched it, though. You took what you could get back then.
Healthcliff Heathcliff no one should terrorize their neighborhood, but Healthcliff just won't be undone playing pranks on everyone. The gang will reign supreme and no one can deny i i i they'll make up history and always have an alab i i.
I had to go look this up on Wikipedia.... So now on top of this I learned that there were TWO cartoons. One in 1980, then this one by DIC im 1984.... I've never seen the first, never heard of it, is a completely different thing, and I've never heard anyone even remotely mention it.
Kinda feeling this is a Ghostbusters vs The Real Ghostbusters kinda thing.
One year, two seasons, a grand total of 86 episodes.
This is back when a "season" didn't mean "eight episodes."
Jeez, only two years? I have the whole series on DVD and thereās like a jillion episodes! Admittedly, the animation isnāt that great, so they probably had some Korean animator just crank out them out as quickly as possible
I really, *really* wanted to be like Wordsworth when I was seven.
I even tried to start speaking in rhyme a few times. Always lasted about one (very pre-planned) couplet and one aborted attempt at a freestyle in the moment, and I couldnāt rollerskate for fuckinā *shit.*
I remember watching this on... The Family Channel? The only other cat I know from this show is Hector of the Catillac Cats because he's the one with the headphones and roller skates.

All these shows that were only 1 or 2 seasons but felt like they were years long blows my mind.
They made like a zillion episodes, since they were intended to run daily, and then ran for 3-4 years in syndication.
My thoughts exactly. I figured there were hundreds of episodes
Wow l loved this show
Cleo, awakening the inner furries in people in 1984.
Sigh. Sadly very true. And then forgotten about until Monkeybone.
I hope you get the help you need
She was the Judy Hopps of that time.
part of the Rule34 origin story
Lolol
She was the sexiest cat ever.
Wow, talk about unlocking memories I can still hear the theme song in my head https://youtu.be/9LLb8EBU9nQ?si=yW7Lxc66umOt4Ca8
Theme was fire and still is.
I don't mind if the opening theme song is an earworm!
They used to give the theme song enough time for multiple verses, a great chorus, a bridge and a key change.
Another 80s cartoon theme banger š„

I hate you
me too

RiffRaff
I used to think the cat with the pink leggings was so hot š
I still do, but I used to, too. -Mitch Hedberg
This one started off the awesome WGN after school block. Heathcliff, then M.A.S.K., then Transformers, and finally G.I. Joe.
I lived 5 mins from my elementary school I could hear the theme song at the end and run to school in time lol
Chuck Lorre was a writer on this show
He also wrote the iconic theme song for the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon.

And technically Heathcliff came first

I read recently where someone called Heathcliff the Kirkland Garfield š
Except that Heathcliff came first. Itās a Hydrox-Oreo situation.

DIC did all those 80s toons back in the day
They did not do the 1980 version of Heathcliff, just the '84.
Heathcliff only ran for one year?? Seems like he was always on with new episodes

Ah! Love that high volume approach. That's why it seemed endless
I prefer rif Raf
Said the same
I first read that as The Catholic Cats.
Gone but not forgotten. He was the cooler Garfield.
Heās the One!
Jeez, only two years? I have the whole series on DVD and thereās like a jillion episodes! Admittedly, the animation isnāt that great, so they probably had some Korean animator just crank out them out as quickly as possible
Sometimes my brother and I great each others in Mongos voice. š
Heathcliff is a certified neighborhood terrorizer.
Heathcliff has always been my favorite cartoon cat.
One of my favorites as a kid probably my favorite non action figure cartoon
I don't know why but seeing this made Samurai Pizza Cats pop into my head.
Just grabbed this entire series last week for $1 on DVD.

Heathcliff > Garfield
No one should terrorize their neighborhood.
Oh man. Memories.
Funny I remember the name but I donāt remember anything about the show.
I remember watching this on... The Family Channel? The only other cat I know from this show is Hector of the Catillac Cats because he's the one with the headphones and roller skates.
Iāll die on the hill wondering how they never had an episode teaming up Heathcliff and Riff Raff.
Mel Blanc the legend!
Why didn't Heathcliff and Riffraff never meet?
This gave me nightmares as a young child
I remember a classmate insisting there had been a President Heathcliff that had been assassinated.
Cleo was WAAY hotter than Sonia .. you know it, I know it , Riff Raff definitely knew it , and so did Heathcliff
They gotta do a new Heathcliff series based on the current iteration of the comic... what with the meat helmets, Jimmy and whatnot
New theme song by Weenā¦
I always liked riff raff better
I was today years old when I realized it was CATILLAC cats. Makes sense. Also Cleo gave me r/confusedboners as a wee lad.
One is my favorite shows
Heathcliff Heathcliff no one shouldā¦
I remember him wearing a coat and hat....why do I picture him as such?
Like they knew what they were doing when they made Cleo right?
The second segment was "Cats & Co." in some markets.
Why do they look naked
The tall white cat in the background looks like Angel from Hazbin Hotel. Lmao.
Who sucks more: Heathcliff or Garfield? They're both pretty bad, IMO.
The art looks like ass
Ghetto Garfield. Hanging with his thug friends and chasing pussy.
Heathcliff and the $30 animation budget
