These characters were respresentations of masculinity, while Araki likes to explore masculinity in a very differerent way now, these characters physical strength, displayed through their muscles and general hugeness, were key aspects of their character.
Joseph is probably the most egregious example here since he was a hunk well into his 60s thanks to his training in Ripple.

Oh, sorry, it’s My Hero Academia, a shounen anime based off the manga of the same name. It has some pretty good themes and sequences, so I do suggest it. The first season is make it or break it, but all the others are top teir.
