shiwoneek

No wonder why he grew up in an orphanage!

Pundarikaksh

With parents like that it isn't even surprising 😭

RIPOldAccountF

It beats being raised by them

Monkeyke

Probably better to grow up in orphanage then them

angikatlo

Maybe he was an orphan by choice. Left the family at the ripe age of 2.

Feisty_Professional2

2 days mind you. He couldn't even see yet and still he somehow found a way to flee from them because they were just that terrible at parenting.

Short_Restaurant_519

I think he's the one who left them, for not being able to keep up with their stupidity 🤣

Redscream667

They are basicallybasuna and kirito abridged.

Clione-ON

Naww 😭😭Lmao so tru-

GodOfUrging

Anime Child Protective Services was doing its job for once.

MausBomb

Damn they definitely need a performance audit for a lot of shows

getsuga_tenshu

The fool kept using steal on his new moms.

EdNorthcott

Heiter grew up in an orphanage. Himmel was from the same town, and mentioned Heiter as "a boy from the orphanage told me I'd never be a hero". I was always under the impression Himmel had a family. Did they end up clarifying otherwise?

ZandeR678

He mentioned that his mother died when he was very young. He was definitely an orphan

nhansieu1

Most characters in the show are orphans

LTareyouserious

Death via EXPLOSION?

DestinyHasArrived101

😆 🤣 😂 😹 fell off my damn chair 👏 👏

shiwoneek

I'm glad.

Active_Tumbleweed_54

Naahhhhhhh💀💀Wtf

Alyssum_28

So true! Comment of the day haha

discuss-not-concuss

that’s why he can’t pull out the Holy Sword, it rejects the genes of Kuzuma

robbanksy

Apparently Kuzuma also couldn't pull out "the holy sword"...

Stunning-Item4786

Wdym, he pulled the "Excalibur" out with the help of Aqua's words and Megumi's curiosity...???

TheMechanic04

Was that before or after he used the steal skill on them?

ProudPickle9994

Chunchunmaru

Bobyyyyyyyghyh

What?? That's a terrible name for a sword!! You can't just name it that!

ProudPickle9994

Henceforth, this sword's now called 'Chunchunmaru'. !

idc_bout_ma_name

Megumi mentioned, deployiny the potential man memes

VlaqSheperd

Always 'if' and 'when'... But never 'is'.

Pundarikaksh

What if his sword was a new modded chunchunmaru

ilovecatsandcafe

Those genes showed their faces when he screamed he wanted to see frieren panties 😂

FilipinxFurry

Yup, I think this should be canon 🤣 And Heiter prays to Aqua, which is why he’s an OP but corrupt alcoholic priest

stoic_koala

Or Heiter is actually their second child that inherited less of their physical looks, but more of their personality...

FilipinxFurry

Green hair is like Yellow plus Blue Heiter is Dust and Aqua’s kid

Pundarikaksh

The point about Heiter is so real lmao

HarleyArchibaldLeon

Man, Axis cult Heiter is just... wow...

Imfryinghere

So they're bad parents who abandoned Himmel?

stoic_koala

They just didn't want Himmel to inherit their debts.

Imfryinghere

Yet, they're **proud to say they are his parents** even though they didn't raise him?

Serious_Theory_391

Typical Kazuma / Aqua

KiraTheFourth

relatedly, when watching the anime with my mom, we were arguing back on forth on whether stark was the love child of taiga and ryuji from toradora, or kyo and tohru from fruits basket

monkeybanana550

Man, it's cool to hear someone bonding with their parents thru anime. Respect.

KainerNS2

I don't know how you watch this sht with your parents, I would feel uncomfortable ngl 😭😭

saber_knight117

Well, Toradora is a slice of life anime with wholesome vibes, as is Fruits Basket. And Frieren is too. So my guess is the viewing list is very different than like Gushing Over Magical Girls or something

IC2Flier

This is why anime can't be. "genre" -- it's just the same medium coming form Japan. And it's frankly easy to curate a parent-friendly set of shows to view, without needing to limit yourself with Shinkai, Kon, Miyazaki and Hosoda.

Shady_Merchant1

A medium is a TV or a paper it's the method in which something is conveyed animation is a genre with many sub genres

[deleted]

That would be the mode/medium of viewing. Anime is the medium created for viewing. Genre is based around the content that invoke emotion while viewing. Books are not a genre they are a medium. The method of creating a book (screenplay, comic, novel, novela) does not mean genre. Genres would be Romance, action/adventure, and historical fiction. Also I fully accept anyone replying to this with a nerd emoji

School_of_Anime

I appreciate you and the clear, concise, *high quality* of your semantic pedantry. That's not nerdy, as its not needless or whimsical. People who want to discuss serious topics like anime need to hammer out their definitions so they're not arguing past each other! What you just did is set up any further conversation to maybe, just *maybe*, make a bit more sense, in this crazy world where everyone debates everything for no reason other than to feel their voice has been heard. Keep at it. It's a heroic thing. ...now I'm going back to watching yuri, which for the media confused, *isn't* the definitive lesbian manga/anime genre. It's not definitive anything. No, really, *that's* its genre. It's ambiguous maybe-romance-maybe-tragedy that tortures the human heart with will-she-won't-she. The lesbian stuff is actually *satisfying* at some point. It resolves. People have real relationships. That's how you know its not yuri anymore. Ahh, delicious suffering.

Hardwarestore_Senpai

Yeah Toradora is one of the better RomComs out there.

Kraytory

He certainly has Taiga's melee talents and unreasonable strength. But he doesn't look like a thug like Ryuji and also isn't obsessed with cleaning so i guess the similarities are few.

shqla7hole

Toradora is so underrated

dreamendDischarger

Underrated? It was like the most popular thing in it's prime. That's like saying Haruhi Suzumiya is underrated.

shqla7hole

Tbf i wasn't there in its prime i just found about it this year

Cheap-Asparagus3842

Even then people rank it among the greats such as Fruits Basket and Horimiya

TheBraveGallade

Both are anime that all anime nerds know but few outside it do. Unlike, say, EVA or DBZ

jacker1154

There is no way Kazuma could produce a human being like Himmel

stoic_koala

Due to Kazuma's luck stat, his child got the perfect stats across the board.

Not-a-Drone

Not in longevity apparently..

itsTraX2

wtf he died at 76, you wanted him to live past 100 or sum 😭

Falsus

Well he did happen to fall for a woman where longevity is the main issue.

Not-a-Drone

He should've been an elf..

TeaGuyUseReddit

How would that even work lmao

puru_the_potato_lord

by fucking a god ... wait a min

themediocreradish

Not to be that guy but Heiter lived longer than him and was an alcoholic

kaukamieli

Priest with literal healing magic.

EdNorthcott

My grandpa made it to almost 90 after fighting in WWII, drinking like a fish, and smoking a pipe multiple times a day.

CaterWak

well that's him being a fucking badass

SoundShockWave

Heiter also looked a bit younger, so maybe he died second but still had a shorter lifespan? Himmel shrunk a huge amount, and Heiter just got wrinkly.

Despondaito

Dafuq so they recruited Frieren when he was 16? I thought he would have been at least like 20 when they started so 30 when they made it back after the 10 year journey. Damn thats young as hell.

AmbroseIrina

Yeah they say his age when the Journey started

HallowKnightYT

He made it to 90 bruh and killing monsters too

Wessel-P

In an our worlds equivalent to the 12th century.. its a miracle honestly

meditonsin

Not that much of a miracle considering they have healing magic and stuff like that.

Wessel-P

Booooo boooring

puru_the_potato_lord

ohhhh .... so heiter helped him

EdNorthcott

In the middle ages if you lived past childhood your odds of making it at *least* to your 50s was quite high. The low average life expectancy came from high infant mortality rates, dragging the average waaaaay down.

Zolado110

Aqua's bad luck

morbito_uchiha

There is no way Aqua could produce a human being like Himmel

Hoboforeternity

(-)*(-)= (+) So they could double the negative and result in positive

kramsibbush

Reverse bad parents technique: perfect child

MakeBombsNotWar

We call this one the Forced Maturity Special

MukorosuFace

YOU ARE MY SPECIALZ

entitaneo70_pacifist

edtufic

“Science b*tch!”

Level-Mix-7953

Beat me to it!

morbito_uchiha

peak fiction fr

Acrobatic-Budget-938

Curse energy?

AstralPamplemousse

Reverse birth technique

Euroversett

She can't produce offspring so this is correct.

amadmongoose

That's why he grew up in an orphanage, Kazuma and Aqua abandoning the baby because they couldn't deal with it is kind of, on brand

Falsus

Two negatives, Aqua and Kazuma, put together produces a plus, Himmel. It adds up imo!

uttol

thing is Kazuma has a high luck stat and Aqua has a negative luck stat so it cancels out

rocketo-tenshi

He reaches the biggest stats an adventurer class has ever reached + aqua's own busted stats

jacker1154

We talk about persoanality here, even Kazuma is a god reincanated there is no way in hell he could create such a person like Himmel. If someone said Himmel is an alien that can mimic human, it is more believable than telling me Himmel is Kazuma and Aqua child.

kaukamieli

Nature vs nurture.

Euroversett

Kazuma's stats are all low but for average INT and very high luck.

TheAccountITalkWith

Himmel was an orphan. So they obviously just abandoned him at birth.

Plenty-Chair-3511

HIMmel

oniyurei-kun

imagine Himmel with the snatch skill....lmao

stoic_koala

Frieren isn't safe...

CCO812

Aqua is literally unable to bore children because her body purifies all fluids into water

stoic_koala

Luckily, Kazuma's seed isn't out of this world...

TeaGuyUseReddit

This was truly a god's blessing on this world

Arcan_unknown

"Every Sperm Is Sacred" Monty Phython said

Maximum_Azure_Glow

Ah, yes, kazuma. What a man you are..

Acrobatic-Budget-938

This was truly our Kono Subarashi

HarleyArchibaldLeon

Isn't it technically?

Charlie_Yu

Aqua could get drunk

meditonsin

Can she get drunk, or does she just think she's drunk which makes her act like she is?

Charlie_Yu

She throws up rainbow and I don’t think she can create it out of nothing

Euroversett

It's anime filler, we don't know if she can throw up in canon, it never happened. But she does get drunk because only her skin purifies things, as long as the alcohol doesn't touch her lips much it's fine.

rocketo-tenshi

That's a plot point in many ... Huh... Artistic depictions

nhansieu1

Eris said if a goddess lost virginity, she would become a normal human

OnceUponATie

That's what the Big Heaven industry wants you to believe. But think about it; how do you make new gods then, uh?

Euroversett

Not even the virginity, any sexual act will make them lose their power. And as said on V10 if a God loses their power they vanish from existence. Not that Aqua, if allowed to have sex, would ever get together with Kazuma who's way below her league.

Pundarikaksh

Then how does she get drunk?

ItsmyDZNA

He got lucky?

Euroversett

Untrue. Goddesses lose their power if they engage in sexual activities. If a God loses their power they vanish from existance. So Aqua can't have children, but not due to the reason you mentioned.

Milordserene

Every Frieren Flashback: Hai, Himmel desu!

shiro_cat

Minus * minus = positive

stoic_koala

It's just Kazuma's luck stat giving him busted skills.

HarleyArchibaldLeon

Ah yes, the Reverse Curse Technique hero.

Ersh_Zenith_01

I ship it

rocketo-tenshi

What you doing! post this in r/Kazuqua !

argama87

It's well established that one of Kazuma's sons is Rance.

TheCrimEbonyNyaPho

Nah that's his uncle

Nok-y

\- × - = +

cut_rate_revolution

And both of them would totally abandon a kid. He grew up in an orphanage.

xkuclone2

Himmel is now able to steal ALL the panties in the world.

ForgesGate

Technically, he already did

FunkBlazar

Not Frieren or at least it was delayed by like 80 years

Pundarikaksh

Keep cooking

Buddiboi95

No wonder he's also fucken stupid.

Capitano-Solos-All

Wouldn't that make Himmel immortal like Aqua?

stoic_koala

Immortality is a recessive gene unfortunately.

Capitano-Solos-All

Explains Hercules I guess whose father was the immortal Zeus.

No_Employ4768

It was mentioned in the konosuba LN that Goddesses lose their immortality after losing their chastity.

Ass_butterer

I choose to believe that was a lie because its more convenient that way

Capitano-Solos-All

She can ressurect Kazuma infinite times and she does it while she is also on earth. Why can't she literally do the same to herself? What the light novel says is that now she can die yeah, but nothing is stopping her to ressurect herself from the after life. She does it to Kazuma herself all the time after all.

Axtel_A

To correct what the user above said, it's not mentioned in the LN but in Eris' Q&A, and they lose their goddess powers (which likely includes their immortality) if they lose their chastity.

613codyrex

Aqua can revive other characters, but only one time barring her overriding Eris for it. Assuming they don’t die of natural causes. Growing Old, illness or if the body is entirely obliterated means no revive. I can totally see Aqua running away if Kazuma dies and leaving Himmel on his own if that was an AU that existed.

Capitano-Solos-All

People give Aqua too littler credit. She really isn't a bad person.

613codyrex

She’s not at all, especially in the later volumes of the LN where. she’s very kind but also very soft, Aqua is probably the least equipped out of the party to handle the permanent death of another.

ConflictAgreeable689

Their other kid inherited her brains and luck, and his strength

TheCrimEbonyNyaPho

Aqua + Kazuma = Himmel Eris + Kazuma = Index Librorum Prohibitorum (Toaru) Anyone else that's missing?

lop333

LMAO the genes were so bad they canceld eachother out and created a perfect chad

justaran-doomhuman

That would be really accurate lmao.

DowntownButterfly581

I'm summon Megumi Oppenheimer

FunkBlazar

Himmel's mom didn't die; she dipped back to heaven

omguserius

Oooooh, i get it. And he's a well adjusted functional human being because he saw how his parents and their friends interacted and decided to do the exact opposite in all things.

devo14218

I hate how much sense this makes

JustYourFunnyFriend

He is pretty much the opposite of both of them

FamTheMystery

EXCALIBUR!

lactoseAARON

Bro inherited no personality traits

Living_Tie9512

LOL!!!! He only inherited Aqua's blue hair, vanity and high skill apptitude, and Kazuma's vanity and awesome luck.........man, even though it was their vanity which prevented them to reached their full potential, i mean, when Kazuma throws his vanity away he can be strong, Aqua can be useful........Himmel doesn't suffer from it. Guess those at the orphanage did a good job at raising him.

reylouie20

Holy shit so thats why Himmel is so lucky

9spaceking

Oh no wonder he wants Frieren panties

polaristar

If anything wouldn't that be a nerf?

phantom_knights

This is Kazuma’s son foretold by yunyun that was gonna slay the demon king.

Possible-Cellist-713

Cursed af

Cheta02

Never cook again.

Frost-Tree

No thx

OutcryOfHeavens

Oi! That makes a lot of sense! But when did all the scumbag personality went? He should have quite a high probability to get it considering who his parents are 🤔

No_Range2

She’s a piss head and he’s traumatised by the trans demon general

Pristine_Still_223

He beat the demon king with the power of crazy ass bullshit luck

Magic1904

Those crossover are getting out of hand and i like it :D Keep them coming

afnannm04

having aqua blood is not good 💀

[deleted]

pebieekun

🤣

Reallinky

No way is this canon? I always thought Aqua and Kazuma were at eachothers neck! Megumin probably got tired and actually learnt more spells 😂

sosigboi

That can't be right, hes not at least half useless.

Putrid_Ad7197

có bố mẹ mà chẳng nhu ai

Exact_mie412

Incredible, he was so lucky to inherit only the good of each one

iMango-Senpai

Who needs to be the Chosen Hero when you have your father's luck coursing through your veins. 😂💯

Magna_Strongkeep

He got the powers of god and anime in his side.

Alexcoolps

Correction, they have no blue haired son. Only a blue haired daughter named Mizu. The son they do have is Kazuma Jr and he has brown hair like his father.

Employ-Radiant

Is this supposed to be a reference to something else that I don’t know of?

Alexcoolps

It is a reference to the manga ending where >!Kazuma ends up with Aqua and the epilogue shows them having a small Aqua with green eyes named Mizu and a small Kazuma son named Kazuma Jr with Aqua's eyes. The confession scene is funni as typical with Konosuba's humor but also sweet.!<

DJ-Olaf

Umm... manga isn't finished yet. You mean the Konosuba WN? No kids were there, actually – she had shown some signs of affection towards Kazuma there in Epilogue, but the WN stopped here (or not, if you will treat the Aqua WN-SS as the continuation; but nothing interesting was there either).

[deleted]

Just no
