Most of Aldi's "junk food" is better than the brands they imitate. Their sugary cereals taste like childhood. Their swiss roll cakes are better than Hostess and Little Debbie combined. And I have to ration myself when it comes to their cookies. So good!!!
Second this. Their cosmic brownies are so bad my kids didn't finish them. Idk what they did but nothing like the original. Shocking because most their stuff is phenomenal.
I'm not a big cookie person, but samoas are my favorite. I guess I will have to try them next time I see an ALDI. That might be a while, though. The nearest one to me is over 700 miles away 😁.
When my kids were girls scouts, cookies were $4 or maybe $4.50 a box. The troops got literally 50 cents per box sold for the awful cardboard masquerding as cookies. I told the troop leader that yes they were learning valuable lessons, but a lesson in exploitation. I would give her a $20 and ask for my kid to be credited for "selling" 40 boxes. If the weather was nice, we might help at a booth sale, for friendship's sake. But we would not attend in bad weather.
The Aldi versions are far superior in taste across the board.
My son was a boy scout, and they sold christmas wreaths for ten dollars. A couple more dollars, and you can get a bow and some pine cones on it. The top of the line was probably about eighteen dollars. He got half the money for each wreath sold into his camp account.
The wreaths sold themselves, and everybody bought at least one. Took one afternoon to sell them, one afternoon to deliver them. He went to camp for free every year.
My poor girls sold hundreds and hundreds of girl scout cookies. We spent many weekends walking around the neighborhood. Selling girl scout cookies and working at booths in the cold. They would get about twenty-five dollars for a camp account. They never got to go to Girl Scout camp because it wasn't enough to cover the costs.
We don’t have ALDIs in my state but I have bought the Keebler Samoas and they’re so good! Cheaper than GS, too. I always just donate cash to the GS when I see them since they make almost nothing from a box of cookies
Reese’s got an economist in their kitchen and the quality went way down. Sadly, their products are no longer fun. They used to slightly over roast their own peanut butter. I don’t know if that was the change, or just the crappy HFCS.
I knew something had changed. The peanut butter nowadays feels old, stale and dry. I always thought I was getting Reese's that have been left out on the shelves for too long.
My friend is a chocolate snob. Her folks are from Germany. I thought she may have seen Aldi chocolate and turned her nose up, so I brought her a selection of the little Moser Roth bars. She & her mom were absolutely crazy for them! (Wait’ll they see how inexpensive they are!)
Wasn't expecting to find this comment here and thought I was gonna have to make it myself! 100% agree, the name brand cookies can't even hold a candle to these.
WalMart Great Value All Purpose UNBLEACHED flour has actually malted barley flour in it and not just a squirt of "enzymes". The malted barley flour not only assista with the Millard browning, it makes it much more digestible.
I'm not a food scientician nor do I play one on TV, but when flour companies began removing malted barley flour from flour, everyone seemed to become gluten intolerant.
We were good for fucking hundreds of years, then to save a quarter of a cent, so many have to suffer.
King Arthur Flour also has it, but costs much more. However,if you're making roll-outs, gingerbread, or any cut cookie or puff pastry, buy the King Arthur, it has a much lower moisture content with will maintain your cut sames much, much better.
Stealing this. My last round of medical testing indicated that I am gluten intolerant. It runs in my family. I wonder if using different flours would help.
President’s Choice Decadent chocolate chip cookies are better than Chips Ahoy. The chocolate chips are bigger and meltier, plus there are more chocolate chips in the cookie in general.
Chips Ahoy chocolate chips are hard, smaller, and the chocolate chip itself is almost indistinguishable taste-wise from the cookie.
I’m indefinitely boycotting Loblaws and its other brands/stores, so unfortunately I’m just not buying any chocolate chip cookies. I really don’t like Chips Ahoy.
Also on the Loblaw boycott. The President Choice White Cheddar macNcheese dinner is so much better than Kraft Dinner macNcheese. Alas. Quick emergency night dinner is gone
I am a ketchup fiend to the point where I can tell Heinz Vs Hunts Vs Restaurant-Made based on taste.
Trader Joe’s has the best ketchup. Hands down. My only complaint is that I can’t purchase it in the giant 64oz 2-pack bottles that Costco stocks Heinz in.
Aldi Mac N Cheese is much better than Kraft, also the cheapest ranch dressing anywhere is the closest to what you get at restaurants. Kirkland brand at Costco... pick an item and it is on par if not better than its name brand counterpart
Kirkland brand at Costco... pick an item and it is on par if not better than its name brand counterpart
Absolutely! I know that, technically, Kirkland is not a name brand. But they do such a good job at reliably having good products I personally consider their stuff as "name brand" when I'm shopping.
Really, all Kroger brand ice cream is good. They just had a big sale, and my kids had her tonsils removed so I bought 5 different flavors - all were fire.
Aldi crackers taste better than name brand for the most part, especially their wheat thins. Oh and the peanut butter cookies are better than Girl Scout samoas at like ¼ the price.
Just be careful not to accidentally buy their Miracle Whip knockoff, unless you are into that sort of thing. The plain yellow labels aren't easily distinguishable! Haha.
That’s funny because it’s the ONE thing where I “splurge” and buy name brand. I’ve had terrible luck with food lion brand and Walmart brand. After that i gave up and only buy that brand in the red packaging.
I noticed a lot of votes for Walmart brand things that are better than brand name. I gotta agree, most of the GV stuff is pretty okay and wayyyy cheaper than brand name. Even the ground coffee!
i dont know if youd call Hydrox "generic" oreos, because they are actually the original. but considering the Marketshare of oreo. it feels noteworthy to mention that Hydrox are far superior
My grandpa used to bulk-buy Walmart’s Great Value donut sticks and keep ‘em in the freezer until he’d defrost one for breakfast every morning. They taste better than Hostess or Entemanns or any of those other pre-packaged donuts or snack cakes.
I may be a little biased with nostalgia and the “don’t tell your mother I let you eat these” grandpa attitude
YES TO THE PIZZA ROLLS. I have been screaming into the void about damn pizza rolls and how Walmart, for once, is the hero. Totino’s pizza rolls have to be nearly half the size as before and taste like cardboard. The Walmart brand taste just like I remember as a kid and are the same size as then, too. Plus, when I’m a sad, I can get a 4lb bag of those MFers the size of my bed pillow for under $10. It feels like some sort of special-kept secret.
HEB Mi Tienda tortillas. I will die on this hill. IYKYK. There's tons of other stuff too like their tajin and chamoy candy, Hawaiian rolls, etc. That grocery store is the best.
I grew up with Heinz but the first time I tried Hunt’s (probably 15 or so years ago) I realized that it is actually a far superior ketchup. Sorry bros. DM me if you want to fight and I’ll send you my address.
Whales are far superior to regular goldfish, but nothing can top the disgusting urge I have to eat an entire bag of pizza blasted goldfish in one sitting every time I buy a bag
Aldi peanut butter cups are better than Reese's cups, but I might change my vote if we were talking about the Reese's eggs - better peanut butter to chocolate ratio.
I like the Aldi version of double stuff Oreos more than the original.
And I'm not sure if I like them better, but Aldi animal crackers take me right back to the McDonald's animal crackers that came in a little box.
Aldi brand Honey Nut Cheerios. We usually go through a family size box in a week. Recently bought a box of the real cheerios, and they ended up going stale.
Most Malt-o-Meal cereals are way better than name brand, imo. The main three that come to mind are Frosted Flakes, Mini-Wheats (plain and strawberry), and Cinammon toast crunch, but others are great as well. They tend to put more of the coatings/frosting on their cereal, which stops it from getting soggy as quickly. Granted, it is more sugary, but I think it's better to treat it as a snack similar to chips or candy instead of a breakfast food like it's marketed. I love cereal, but it's awful for breakfast
Gummy candy. Fuck a Haribo or Trolli, give me me the shitty gas station brand at 2 for $2. Watermelon slices, peach rings, sour gummy worms, hell yeah.
This is obscure and UK-specific but Morrison’s supermarket’s own brand peppermint tea is the best. I’ve drunk peppermint tea exclusively for 15 years and I find it to be nicer tasting than any other type I’ve had in any country. I buy five or six boxes at a time as it’s not the nearest supermarket to me.
I don't like store brand for straight cola flavors or diet soda. But for flavors I agree wholeheartedly! Store brand grape, orange, and cream are much better than name brand. I have fond memories of riding my bike to the store and buying single cans from the outside machine for a quarter.
I highly recommend doing a blind taste test. Coke, Pepsi, and store brand cola. Or sprite, 7 up and store brand. Or A&W, mug and store brand, you get the idea. Rank them on preference, and try and guess which is which. Bonus points for saying ahead of time which you think you like best. I had a class do this in school once most people were surprised by the results and very wrong on their guesses.
Kroger large curd, whole milk cottage cheese beats any name brand I’ve encountered so far. I’m sure there’s some premium stuff out there, but for the price…
The only thing better than that is homemade. Kroger has the bulk buying power to make even that difficult to justify spending money on.
Not a good, but I like the Kirkland water filters better than the Brita ones. I had just bought a box of Kirkland filters and had 1 Brita filter left. I changed out our pitcher with the Brita and our fridge gallon thing with the Kirkland. The fridge water tasted so much better, I just tossed the Brita after a couple days and put in a Kirkland. They are like $15ish less for a 10 pack of them at Costco vs the 10 pack of Brita.
I’ve seen a lot of people mention Aldi’s brand stuff but I have to say that I go out of my way for their seasoned pretzels. They’re SO GOOD and I cannot recommend them enough. My fiancee and I LOVE them
YES the pub style garlic herb it’s making my mouth water right now. I grabbed them by accident one day, didn’t even know they made pretzels in flavors and that flavorful, and now that’s the only pretzel I’ll eat
I don't like mushrooms, but Great Value mushroom spaghetti sauce is one of my favorite spaghetti sauces. And Great Value vegan sausage is better, IMO than regular breakfast sausages.
There are some go-to "generics" I get because they're legitimately better.
Aldi small curd cottage cheese and their brand of cheese brats.
Meijer brand spaghettios.
Malt-o-meal brand golden graham knockoffs
Kroger taco sauce
Im sure there's others I'm missing.
The Great Value version of the Nature Valley oats and honey crunchy granola bars are better, AND the wrapper is way easier to open. I don’t know why, but I can never open the Nature Valley ones without scissors, defeating the purpose of eating them on the go.
Good and Gather fruit snacks from Target are better than *any* name brand options in my opinion. I don't know which brand they're trying to copy, but they are so good.
so this may sound odd?
beyond burgers come in different types of packaging. there’s one where it comes in a package of two patties.
for some reason, the meijer generic of the two patties tastes better.
there are now frozen beyond burger patties that come in a box of 8… those taste better than the meijer generic patties. if my math checks out, i think they somehow come out cheaper than the meijer plant-based meat… i just go by what’s in stock and what’s cheapest out of that
edit: someone mentioned aldi’s mac and cheese being better than kraft… i was shocked to find that meijer mac is fantastic… maybe better than kraft
meijer also has vegan yogurts. i have never had a vegan yogurt i liked… but meijer brand? AMAZING. like it better than dairy yogurts. unfortunately they’re too expensive for me.
meijer’s purified water is also pretty good. i have the big autism and i find water gross. meijer water is more tolerable than a lot of brands
Ooooooh. Good to know.
As we are coming up fast on Chex Mix season, do you have a generic that is particularly better than most? (we eat a pile of the stuff when we do.)
Meteor bars, knockoff Mars bars. I actually prefer them; the chocolate coating is thinner, there’s less fudge or nougat or whatever the bulk of the bar is…just overall not as overkill sweet as a Mars. Thanks, dollar store!
Walmart frozen precooked breakfast sausage patties are way better than jimmy dean. They taste like fast food sausage patties and are great for breakfast sandwiches or burritos.
Aldi is absolutely sweeping this entire post.
I guess I didn’t appreciate Aldi enough when I lived near one. I would love to live in a city with one again!
i’m using this post to make a grocery list lol
It’s so unfair they don’t have them in the PNW
Controversial, but ALDIs version of the Girl Scout samoas!
The dollar tree had thin mints. Omg they were so good and 1.35 vs $6. I threw them in the freezer and devoured them.
I did a blind taste test of those thin mint cookies. My husband preferred the Dollar tree thin mints to the Girl Scout ones.
Seriously. I can give the girl scouts a $5 donation, buy a couple boxes of cookies at the dollar store, and everyone comes out ahead.
I really love those. They have less of a crunch than the GS ones but the flavor is 😚👌
Also Aldi's Cherry Garcia dupe. It's like a third the price AND BETTER
They need to get on the Phish Food.
Most of Aldi's "junk food" is better than the brands they imitate. Their sugary cereals taste like childhood. Their swiss roll cakes are better than Hostess and Little Debbie combined. And I have to ration myself when it comes to their cookies. So good!!!
Whatever you do don't try their imitation of Cosmic Brownies. Idk how they managed it, but they are one of the worst things I've eaten.
Second this. Their cosmic brownies are so bad my kids didn't finish them. Idk what they did but nothing like the original. Shocking because most their stuff is phenomenal.
Aldi Swiss rolls is what inspired this question!!
I'm not a big cookie person, but samoas are my favorite. I guess I will have to try them next time I see an ALDI. That might be a while, though. The nearest one to me is over 700 miles away 😁.
Might be worth it. They’re that good.
Their peanut butter sandwich cookies are better than the girl Scouts, too. Edit: I cannot say that for Aldi chips ahoy and Oreo clones.
And their version of Reese’s peanut butter cups!!!
Yes! The chocolate is far superior
I wish people would stop pretending girl scout cookies are any good to begin with. Helping the scouts is good and fine but their cookies fucking blow.
I agree! However the thin mint are an exception! Nowadays Walmarts thin mint gluten free are a good option.
Keebler Grasshoppers are good, too.
the Scot Teas sugar cookies are pretty tasty
When my kids were girls scouts, cookies were $4 or maybe $4.50 a box. The troops got literally 50 cents per box sold for the awful cardboard masquerding as cookies. I told the troop leader that yes they were learning valuable lessons, but a lesson in exploitation. I would give her a $20 and ask for my kid to be credited for "selling" 40 boxes. When I was a kid forty years ago they were really good.
We don’t have ALDIs in my state but I have bought the Keebler Samoas and they’re so good! Cheaper than GS, too. I always just donate cash to the GS when I see them since they make almost nothing from a box of cookies
Dollar general brand is really good too
I've been wondering why I always called it aldis. Now that I noticed a lot of people do that on the internet I see. Aldi
I think it's just cause a lot of other grocery stores end in 's. In my city there's Schnuck's, deirberg's, trader joe's, pete's.
lemon cookies.. they are made in the same factory...
Aldis strawberry pop tarts go far af
Just make sure you’re still supporting your local Girl Scouts!
I like these and the thin mints
Trader Joe's peanut butter cups (especially the dark chocolate ones)
Same with Aldi, bc they're from the same seller.
Whoa, really?? I gotta take a closer look at Aldi next time. Similarly priced too?
Aldi is generally a step cheaper than TJ.
Their sunbutter cups are also better
The dark chocolate ones are dangerously amazing
Jewel's "fig bars" are 100% better than Fig Newtons!
Does she yodel when she makes them?
If she did I’d marry her
Found the Chicagoan
Thought I was in the Chicago subreddit at first haha
I love a reeses cup but Aldis peanut butter cups are even better.
Not only do the Aldi peanut butter cups taste better, they are not freaking individually wrapped. Makes for much more efficient eating 😉
LOL! Down the hatch!!!
We don’t have aldis where I live, but Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate peanut butter cups are by far better than Reese’s
All chocolate at Aldi is superior to any name brand. ~~They're~~ Their chocolate comes from Germany.
Y'all seriously need to stop recommending junk food at Aldi. That is a huge weakness of mine.
Trader Joe’s are even better
That giant bag of Fruity Pebbles…I love that stuff. Also, I prefer dollar store pop tarts.
I just got a big bag of Fruity Dyno Bites with marshmallows yesterday, and they are awesome.
Omg I could eat these all day. They make good rice crispy treats too.
They’re have a heavier lemon flavor than Fruity Pebbles and it makes them so much better.
Walmart GV brand garlic parmesan sauce is better than Buffalo Wild Wings IMO
HEBs fudge mint cookies have real peppermint oil and are better than Girl Scout thin mints.
Goddamn it, the more I hear about HEB, the harder I shake my fist at my own midwestern state
Wasn't expecting to find this comment here and thought I was gonna have to make it myself! 100% agree, the name brand cookies can't even hold a candle to these.
Honestly, just about anything HEB brand is so much better than the original. Their stuff is SO FREAKING GOOOOOODDDD
Everything heb brand is awesome.
You can buy straight up malted barley flour and just remove 1 tbs per cup of all purp flour, and add in 1 tbs malted barley flour.
Or I can just buy the Walmart Great Value Unbleached flour and run my test.
Trader Joe’s version on Takis
I am a ketchup fiend to the point where I can tell Heinz Vs Hunts Vs Restaurant-Made based on taste. Trader Joe’s has the best ketchup. Hands down. My only complaint is that I can’t purchase it in the giant 64oz 2-pack bottles that Costco stocks Heinz in.
Also Trader Joe's version of everything
Not cheerios tho. Aldi is the worst generic cheerios I've tried
And it’s not even close. It has an ingredient list half as long, too. No chemistry sets included.
Aldi Mac N Cheese is much better than Kraft, also the cheapest ranch dressing anywhere is the closest to what you get at restaurants. Kirkland brand at Costco... pick an item and it is on par if not better than its name brand counterpart
Kirkland brand at Costco... pick an item and it is on par if not better than its name brand counterpart Absolutely! I know that, technically, Kirkland is not a name brand. But they do such a good job at reliably having good products I personally consider their stuff as "name brand" when I'm shopping.
Kroger brand butter pecan ice cream! It is so good, slightly salty and sweet. Such a good combination and so much better than the name brands!
Kroger has an ice cream that is vanilla ice cream and orange sherbet swirl. Oh my gosh it is so good. It’s like a Creamsicle!
I recently bought this when they had ice cream on a great sale. Made a float with this and Sunkist. Amazing.
Really, all Kroger brand ice cream is good. They just had a big sale, and my kids had her tonsils removed so I bought 5 different flavors - all were fire.
Oooh I love private selection cookies and cream. It’s so rich.
Aldi crackers taste better than name brand for the most part, especially their wheat thins. Oh and the peanut butter cookies are better than Girl Scout samoas at like ¼ the price.
That would be Tag-a-longs. Lifetime Girl Scout.
Trader Joe’s corn chip dippers >>>> Fritos Scoops
Canada has a no-name brand called No Name. That mayonnaise is better than Hellmann's or any other name brand I've tried.
I will try this then! thanks fellow Canadian
Just be careful not to accidentally buy their Miracle Whip knockoff, unless you are into that sort of thing. The plain yellow labels aren't easily distinguishable! Haha.
no chance, the no name sour cream is really good as well
Mayo ^(For Spreading)
We buy the No name mayo, too. It’s way better
What’s the name?
Have you tried Duke's?
I finally found Kewpie Mayo at Costco, even better than Duke's!!
Apparently Costco Kewpie is not the same as purchased in Japan... disappointed me.
Generic cottage cheese is always better. Larger curd. Slightly saltier.
I recently discovered GV flavored coffee and it is as good as name brand running 3 times more.
I only buy Great Value coffee. We like it
The barefoot contessa margarita recipes specifically calls for cheap tequila because she says that using fancy tequila tastes wrong.
i dont know if youd call Hydrox "generic" oreos, because they are actually the original. but considering the Marketshare of oreo. it feels noteworthy to mention that Hydrox are far superior
It’s such a weird name for a cookie, though. It sounds like a cleaning product or weight loss drug! 😂
I absolutely thought it was a cleaning product.
Wasn't it hydroxycut that was popular/advertised a lot some years ago?
Hydrox were the original chocolate sandwich cookie made by Sunshine. I still like them much better but they have gotten harder to find.
I prefer Walmart's Great Value toaster pastries. They have more jelly in them.
Their pizza rolls are better + more filling too
YES TO THE PIZZA ROLLS. I have been screaming into the void about damn pizza rolls and how Walmart, for once, is the hero. I much prefer Great Value (Walmart) Toasted O's to Cheerios. Cheerios are smaller, have a softer texture, and worse aftertaste.
There is a bag cereal that is better than Cheerios as well. I think it's Melville?.
Nearly anything HEB brand.
Howdy partner! 🤠
You get it!
You'd have to pry HEB Creamy Creations out of my cold, dead hands.
Damn it - let go of the ice cream long enough for your hands to warm up!!! Your brain is gonna freeze like that! : )
Their Java Mocha Chip!
Creamy Creations > Blue Bell The lemon bar ice cream this year was just... OMG. If they don't have that in heaven, I don't wanna go!
WinCo's brand of girl scout thin mints and for a fraction of the cost
Going to WinCo tomorrow.
It might be that Heinz's ridiculous price hike leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but the generic "simply" version of ketchup just hits better for me.
Seems like Hunts and store brands have figured out how to make ketchup as good as Heinz or Heinz is just making ketchup for everyone these days.
I grew up with Heinz but the first time I tried Hunt’s (probably 15 or so years ago) I realized that it is actually a far superior ketchup. Sorry bros. DM me if you want to fight and I’ll send you my address.
Store brand fruity pebbles taste like name brand used to taste.
The off brand bagged cereal version of Fruity Pebbles. My kids swear they are better than the original.
Honestly, anything Great Value is pretty on point. I haven't been disappointed yet.
The stuffed crust frozen pizzas omg
Cheddar whales are so much better than goldfish.
Whales are far superior to regular goldfish, but nothing can top the disgusting urge I have to eat an entire bag of pizza blasted goldfish in one sitting every time I buy a bag

Gummy candy. Fuck a Haribo or Trolli, give me me the shitty gas station brand at 2 for $2. Watermelon slices, peach rings, sour gummy worms, hell yeah.
Great Value’s Potato Chips (Any flavor) are better than Lays
Aldi oatmeal is superior to all fancy instant oatmeals. The breakfast cereals are sometimes better too.
I love the Aldi oatmeal compared to Quaker etc.
Walmart has some incredible Great Value mustards. I haven’t had a variety that I didn’t really like.
Aldi’s kettle cooked jalapeno chips
Anything sold by Costco (Kirkland Signature) or WinCo has to be as good or better than the name brand.
This should be higher. Not always better than all name brands, but as good as many.
Stauffer's Whales are lightyears better than Goldfish.
This is obscure and UK-specific but Morrison’s supermarket’s own brand peppermint tea is the best. Store brand root beer is magical in ways I can’t begin to describe or understand.
That's absolutely true.
Sams Club red pepper hummus. Congrats to the chef on that one.
Kroger large curd, whole milk cottage cheese beats any name brand I’ve encountered so far. I’m sure there’s some premium stuff out there, but for the price… The only thing better than that is homemade. Kroger has the bulk buying power to make even that difficult to justify spending money on.
Aldi's version of Golden Grahams is absolutely better than the original!
Every Aldi cereal we've tried has been better than the name brand.
Fig Newtons are all whole grain now. The great value ones are the only ones that taste like when I was a kid.
The Walmart brand of hostess choc cupcakes are better than hostess…. Hostess was great before they left & came back … now it’s too dry
Kroger has a store brand kimchi that is my fave.
Safeway's version of Raisin Bran!
Malt-o-meal brand golden graham knockoffs Kroger taco sauce Im sure there's others I'm missing.
The Great Value version of the Nature Valley oats and honey crunchy granola bars are better, AND the wrapper is way easier to open. I don’t know why, but I can never open the Nature Valley ones without scissors, defeating the purpose of eating them on the go.
Walmart Great Value canned chicken noodle soup.
Not useful information, but I have never had better ice cream than the vanilla flavour ice cream Lidl used to make in a blue tub
Good and Gather fruit snacks from Target are better than *any* name brand options in my opinion. I don't know which brand they're trying to copy, but they are so good.
I’ve always thought branded Poptarts were gross like undercooked pie dough, where any off-brand toaster pastry was flaky and delicious.
Kroger American Cheese Singles are better than Kraft, according to my partner.
Nearly any HEB product, but specifically their smoked sausage!
Kroger brand Chicken in a Biscuit. On the flip side DO NOT buy their version of triscuits.
Walmart brand boxed Mac n cheese is better than Kraft
Walmart great value cookie dough is so much better than tollhouse/pilsbury. I will die on this hill.
(Ontario, Canada) President’s Choice White Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese 🧀. It slaps.
Kroger brand bagels are way better than Thomas.
so this may sound odd? beyond burgers come in different types of packaging. there’s one where it comes in a package of two patties. for some reason, the meijer generic of the two patties tastes better. there are now frozen beyond burger patties that come in a box of 8… those taste better than the meijer generic patties. if my math checks out, i think they somehow come out cheaper than the meijer plant-based meat… i just go by what’s in stock and what’s cheapest out of that edit: someone mentioned aldi’s mac and cheese being better than kraft… i was shocked to find that meijer mac is fantastic… maybe better than kraft meijer also has vegan yogurts. i have never had a vegan yogurt i liked… but meijer brand? AMAZING. like it better than dairy yogurts. unfortunately they’re too expensive for me. meijer’s purified water is also pretty good. i have the big autism and i find water gross. meijer water is more tolerable than a lot of brands
Not sure it tastes better, but generic plain chex don't upset my stomach like name brand. Name brand has a preservative that the generics don't
Ooooooh. Good to know. As we are coming up fast on Chex Mix season, do you have a generic that is particularly better than most? (we eat a pile of the stuff when we do.)
100% agree.
good and gather organic popcorn is better than skinny pop. I also like their potato chips better.
Ever since I was a kid I held that the Best Choice version of boxed mac was better than Kraft. I still do.
Walmart's great value stuffed crust pizza is my favorite.
Walmart’s Great Value Hazelnut Spread. My kids like it way better than name brand Nutella.
PC Organics Smooth Peanut Butter. Beats out any brand of PB including freshly ground. (Canada)
Safeway tuxedo mint “Oreos”. Dunk that in milk….. so good
Tesco's baked beans are far superior to Heinz.
I prefer store brand seltzer to Bubly. The Bubly carbonation just doesn't cut it.
Walmart's Raisin Bran Crunch is my favorite cereal in the world. Regular Raisin Bran Crunch doesn't compare.
ALDIs chewy chocolate chip cookies and their cinnamon toast cereal
Aldis nacho cheese doritos are banging and out Doritos to shame.
Meteor bars, knockoff Mars bars. I actually prefer them; the chocolate coating is thinner, there’s less fudge or nougat or whatever the bulk of the bar is…just overall not as overkill sweet as a Mars. Thanks, dollar store!
Sam’s paper towels. It’s all we use, now!
Aldi Plain greek yogurt is better than any of the name brand ones I can buy around me.
Omg I've been waiting for this post! The great value mango peach juice is so thick and delicious compared to the welchs watery juice 🤮
dollar general’s equivalent of the chili cheese fritos, they’re a little more spicier and have more in the bag. plus they’re $2 cheaper in my area.
Strawberry Awake cereal (great value/walmart) is way better than Special K with strawberries.
Walmart frozen precooked breakfast sausage patties are way better than jimmy dean. They taste like fast food sausage patties and are great for breakfast sandwiches or burritos.
Malt 'O Meal's Coco Roos! Kicks Cocoa Puff's ass 1000% of the time.
HEB Doritos. Fight me
