I spent hours pausing and rewinding on my VHS player to that scene. Up until that time, I was very much a novice at the practice. Thanks to Jenny, by the time Fast Times at Ridgemont High was released, I had honed my rewinding skills to the point that I was a master!
Fun fact not many know: Jenny Agutter from Logan's Run plays one of the members of the World Security Council in Marvel's MCU movies (notably Cap 2 Winter Soldier).
She also played Morgan Le Fey in a Camelot inspired episode of the 1985 Twilight Zone reboot. Whenever she steps in front of the camera, she is easy to look at, very soft upon the eyes.
She played Donald Sutherlandās 18 year old love that opens his eyes in The Eagle has Landed, very good movie, and David Naughtonās in An American Werewolf in London
Hmmm, the PLOT, yes. Much better than the film.
But in the book, the ages are much younger. You turn black at 21, not 30. The adult-rated plot elements are mostly involving middle to early teenagers.
If you are ever in Fort Worth is it SO worth visiting the Water Garden. Found myself there in the 90's on a trip and had no idea it was THE place from the movie. Just visiting what sounded like a cool tourist attraction.
Gawd, don't put that out there! I was sick for 6 months when I heard they were remaking Westworld, turned out well (in the begining) but I hate having my era movies remade, 99 times out of a 100 it's shit and then you spend your life defending the original. Ugh, makes me tired.
I went to the same professional children's school as Jenny Agutter. She was much older than I was, but when I saw her I was so excited. I'd loved her in "The Railway Children."
So yes, I love this movie. I'm also from Houston, so seeing the airport and the downtown Hyatt cracks me up.
She and Logan were both soaking wet and the elevator was heading into an iced-over refrigeration facility. They took off their clothes to avoid hypothermia (which was as good an excuse as any).
Gary Morgan, the guy who slides down the concrete to confront Logan in the tunnels with his gang, was an old friend and mentor of mine. He also played the dog in Cujo, not even shitting.
I participated in a run. I was a Sandman. We had it during a science fiction convention at the old Ambassador Hotel in L.A. (That was one fun place). We chased each other through the halls and up and down stairs and elevators. I thought a runner was on an elevator so I was waiting as the doors open, my weapon (a rubber dart pistol) was pointed at the cabin. The group of German tourists who almost shit themselves was a sight to behold. The runner had taken the stairs. I later tracked him down and nailed him in a stairwell.
The first thing I thought of at the end of the movie is everyone is going to die from exposure and starvation in the real world without any survival skills.
I put this movie on one night while working at Blockbuster. I had forgotten that PG was different. Luckily, the only customers were a dad and his young son. The dad just laughed, and the som had no idea what was going on
I never found Jenny Agutter, attractive, until she turned 50, after that she grew hotter as she aged. Which is strange considering Iām only a few months older than she is.
It didnāt age well.
Funny thing I read the book but never saw the movie until it came on TV. There is a significant number of scenes cut when they are up against Box. So there is a lot of missed content. I never knew what happened until about a year or so ago when I watched the uncut version. I bet Iāve seen the edited version ten times.
In the 80s and 90s it seemed like Logan's Run was on TBS or TNT or the USA Network regularly. I would watch it, irregardless of the point in the runtime, to the end.
Iām 39 and loved this movie as a kid, often times I will randomly say āthere is no sanctuaryā. Last year I watched Richard Pryor and realized there really arenāt any POCs in that movie.
I saw the movie on TV in the early 2000s in one of those "It's Sunday afternoon and we don't have anything better to show you" time slots. It was kind of stupid, but I was bored and didn't want to go outside.
The scene where they exit into the concrete waterfalls was the Fort Worth Water Gardens. I went there a few times as a kid. You could go all they way to the bottom step. I think it's fenced off now due to too many accidents.
Ahem, when I saw this, for Halloween, I bought half a dozen different Roman candles. I hollowed out a plastic Astro dart gun cause it was broken anyways, and painted it black, and stuck the Roman candle in where the rubber dart went . You can guess where this went, Me yelling, ā Runner!ā Btw, donāt do this. You could hurt someone or start a fire, even though I didnāt, it is a distinct possibility and you could possibly do permanent damage. You have been warned not to do this even how fun it sounds. Gawd we were stupid back thenā¦.
Jenny Agutter was beautiful in that movie
Farrah Fawcett was in that movie. Her 1st. Role.
Right? Also you can see her boobies in the ice cave

The cave was cold that day, my friends!
Still is as Sister Julienne on Call The Midwife.
In every movie.š
Not only has my light gone red, not only has it started to flash, but the battery's dry...
Mine stopped flashing several years ago.
Mine fell out.
HAHAHAHAHA
Mineās turned to black.
(cue Rolling Stones guitar...)

Yep.
She played Donald Sutherlandās 18 year old love that opens his eyes in The Eagle has Landed, very good movie, and David Naughtonās in An American Werewolf in London
And an old weirdo Aussie movie, Walkabout.
Walkabout is fantastic.
She was in Walkabout?!? I vaguely remember that. Skinny dipping in a billabong.
Did not know this..š
It's been a long time, and she's still beautiful. š
Call the Midwife, too.
And very good in it, too.
Childās Play 2
Carousel!
Last day - Capricorn
"carousel begins" still haunts me.
Renew!!
THERE IS NO SANCTUARY
This is what I was looking for
in the book
Renew!!
Beat me to it!
I knew I was getting old when I realized it was Jenny Agutter playing the head nun on Call the Midwife.
God yes. :-(
Came for Farrah Fawcett, stayed for Jenny Agutter.
Again and again.
Sea greens and protein from the sea.
It's my job!
More like the old guy who lives in the Capitol with the cats.
This is one of my favorite movies. Not going to lie!
NO! \*feels lines on face\* Omg I've almost reached thirty...twice! :( thanks for the post...
"Those cracks, in your face... do they hurt?"
it was the prefect line...she seemed so mystified seeing them
I wish they'd remake this movie and stick closer to the book.
Hmmm, the PLOT, yes. Much better than the film. But in the book, the ages are much younger. You turn black at 21, not 30. The adult-rated plot elements are mostly involving middle to early teenagers.
Yeah, the orgies full of 14-year-olds would not go over well if you put them in a movie.
But the book, while confusing at times, was a much broader āworldā and story. And it was only recently that I learned there was a sequel.
Book was much better.
In the book the age was 21. In the movie they changed it to 30.
Shortly after I turned 40, I received a solicitation to join AARP. I felt like Logan 5 when his life clock started flashing.
You're lucky, the cemeteries and conservatoriums are contacting me.
If you are ever in Fort Worth is it SO worth visiting the Water Garden. Found myself there in the 90's on a trip and had no idea it was THE place from the movie. Just visiting what sounded like a cool tourist attraction.
Iām flashing red.
Stale Soylent Green is old people!
im am now very much an old man collecting books and pretty pics.
Gotta be honest, I'm pretty surprised that there's not been an attempt at a remake of this (yet).
Gawd, don't put that out there! I was sick for 6 months when I heard they were remaking Westworld, turned out well (in the begining) but I hate having my era movies remade, 99 times out of a 100 it's shit and then you spend your life defending the original. Ugh, makes me tired.
The source of my username. I bring beer to The City. They will cheer loudest for me at Carousel.
Fuck no! Carrousel all the way, baby! I'm feelin' lucky!
That movie scared the shit outta me as a child
Right me too
My crystal went off a long time agoĀ
I went to the same professional children's school as Jenny Agutter. She was much older than I was, but when I saw her I was so excited. I'd loved her in "The Railway Children." So yes, I love this movie. I'm also from Houston, so seeing the airport and the downtown Hyatt cracks me up.
I saw this as a double-feature with Soylent Green. A great memory.
That would make a great double feature.
Inspiration for my user name.
We are beyond runners, we are the old guy alone in Washington.
Either that, or we're all Bozos on this bus.
This film foresaw the future of Tinder.
Jenny Agutter takes all her clothes off for no reason at all. I will never forget that scene. š«”āš¼
She and Logan were both soaking wet and the elevator was heading into an iced-over refrigeration facility. They took off their clothes to avoid hypothermia (which was as good an excuse as any).
Aw, hell, I'm Peter Ustinov at this point
That was a seminal film for me
Loved this movie. Brings me way back.
Farrha Fawcett was in this movie
She was so popular back then they advertised it as a Farrah Fawcett film, she has two scenes and like maybe five lines.
Funny you brought this up... My wife and I just watched this a couple of weeks ago. My dad took me to see this in the theater. Great memories
Gary Morgan, the guy who slides down the concrete to confront Logan in the tunnels with his gang, was an old friend and mentor of mine. He also played the dog in Cujo, not even shitting.
This was unedited on TBS or TNT when I was in my early teens. Many feelings were unearthed.
I am amazed we havenāt yet had a shitty remake starring The Rock and Sydney Sweeney.
Fun note, (I think) Tesla uses the car seat under from Loganās run to make their cars more audible.
I own this movie. Watch it once a year.
There Is No Sanctuary!
Behold the dystopic vision of several malls in Texas.
The Firey Ritual Of Carrosel.
The first thing I thought of at the end of the movie is everyone is going to die from exposure and starvation in the real world without any survival skills.
Great Movie
I am way older than 30 years old, so are we ineligible for carnival now?
Where Jenny runs, we follow. Amazing... um.. wardrobe.
I hate outside
I rented that movie for my 30th birthday :D
Just watched this the other day...
I'm about to turn 28 so I have a little time to formulate my run
Carousel!!!
Running? HA! I'd be lucky to hit an ambling speed tops... with plenty of sit downs too
RE-NEW! RE-NEW!
At this point I have grandkids that are runners.
If the remake is good, I hope they do the sequels.
I loved this show so much I "changed" my name to Logan in kindergarten! I made everyone call me that for almost a year.
We have this on DVD. I may need to pull it out this weekend.
"...there is no Sanctuary....there is NO Sanctuary...."
Jenny is still running in her outfit in my dreams
Fish and plankton. And sea greens, and protein from the sea. It's all here, ready. Fresh as harvest day.
Jenny, Jenny, Jenny...
Literally watched it two days ago.
Coming up on 28yrs as a runner
You'll never take me alive!
"Fish, plankton, sea greens... protein from the sea!"
I ain't exactly running anywhere these days.
A slow trot on a good day.
Run, runner!
Been running for decades.
Take a run at Jenny no worries
There are days where dystopian science fiction I learned in the 70s applies so apropos to my current life
Mmm maybe a 1/2 block fast walker
Oh yeah. Been seeking sanctuary for about twenty-five years so far.
No. Weāre the old guy they bring back to the city
Horrible. Walked out with my date.
No way I'm sure I'll be renewed
Not quite twice over but getting there
I put this movie on one night while working at Blockbuster. I had forgotten that PG was different. Luckily, the only customers were a dad and his young son. The dad just laughed, and the som had no idea what was going on
Blinkin like a motherfucker.
I did not renew on Carousel. And I remember the TV series, too...
the TV series.... oy vey
Been running since I turned green. Battery ran out after flashing red several years laterā¦ _ages_ ago.
I have the short lived series on dvd.
"Ya can't get away from a homer" - I think this was in the book
Muscle!
I'm a bit of a hobbler at the moment, dang sciatic nerve pain!!!
Some of us are cats...
No, we were all incinerated walking to the coffee shop like 20 years ago.
I (57m) remembered it being such a great film. My wife hardly remembered it at all. So we re-watched it again - Man, it did not hold up. ; )
If you see my fat a$$ running, you best catch up. Something crazy would be happening.
I never found Jenny Agutter, attractive, until she turned 50, after that she grew hotter as she aged. Which is strange considering Iām only a few months older than she is.
Same thing with Madonna
No, Iām a Sandman.
Fish and Plankton and Sea Greensā¦and Protein from the sea.
Isnāt that the āRecipeā for Soylent Green? Yum! š¤£
I should have been sacrificed 20 years ago...
Ugh dammit
That girl spent the entire movie without any panties. It was glorious.
Is this the prequel to The Island or City of Ember? /s
Been running for 28 years.
Thought that was such a cool movie back when.
"She was the one.who wanted to rent Logans Run, the SEXIEST movie ever!" IYKYK
God i loved this movie
Yeah, run to the toilet type running lmao
I wore an Ankh necklace for years. ! The Sandmen will never catch me!
I love this movie made from a book by 2 American authors.
Nah. Not everyone runs. Back when I was still on green, I used to cosplay a sandman.
I saw the movie on TV in the early 2000s in one of those "It's Sunday afternoon and we don't have anything better to show you" time slots. It was kind of stupid, but I was bored and didn't want to go outside.
Sanctuary my ass!
I've been running for decades.
I love this movie, especially the TS Eliot references
Iām going to renew
āClear Logan 5?ā
Run, Runner! Iāve always remembered that quote from the movie. Awesome movie.
I read the book in one sitting (pretty much) and saw the movie later on. The book was better.
Nah, I'm Peter Ustinov.
Bring you fish, and PROteinā¦and plankton from the seaā¦.
That film is sooooooo long. š š¤£ ITS LIKE....STOP RUNNING LOGAN.
I'd run with Jenny
Y'all can drool over Jenny and Farrah, I loved Michael York.
There is no sanctuary.
If I was in the movie it'd be called Logans Slow Walk.
Been running for 28 years
That strip down scene where they were soaked and had to warm up, tho.
Apparently there was much more to that scene but it was cut.
We'd all be dead for decades if the "kill everyone over 30" policy was enacted like in that movie.
āProteins from the sea!ā
"The Sexiest movie ever!"
A well-made remake please
The scene where they exit into the concrete waterfalls was the Fort Worth Water Gardens. I went there a few times as a kid. You could go all they way to the bottom step. I think it's fenced off now due to too many accidents.
lol..."the book was way better"...true...although i think max age change from 21 to 30 was a "little" more "realistic"... kinky sex houses as well
Only if you were under 30
Filmed in a mall in Dallas :)
I made it to the surface
This movie freaked me out, when I was a kid.
I remember the hype on this movie- and as a 12 year old boy loved the movie- I also remember the short lived tv show- Enter Sandman!!
Gawd we were stupid back thenā¦.
Twice even
Loved this movieā¦ I even had the soundtrack on LP.
She was also in An American Werewolf in London, but I can't remember if she flashed at all in that movie.
You must renew
The best scene was the orgy scene but it was too short. Runner up was the lake scene when they first get out
"But, I get my time back, yes? I get it back!"
Right.
