Fancy? Those apps are more annoying than anything else. No, I'm not going to create an account and give you my CC number. Fuck off. I dial the phone, order a pizza, and pay in cash when it arrives.
my dad grew up an orphan on a farm in texas.. they used whatever.. old torn clothes, catalogues, newspaper, phone books and corn cobs..he used to say the cobs were the best because they were softer.. made him feel rich ..
How my first job at a Pizza restaurant was told to name itself. Though they were told to just get an A at the beginning, so A&V Pizza was still close to the head of the list.
I always remember the businesses , lots of plumbers, that had that christian fish symbol on their ad.
That was a sign to me they would try and rip me off
I remember just sticking to the same local pizza chain and never branching out, lol. It also helped that I used to actually remember phone numbers, other than mine, so that's the pizza place I always called. Couldn't beat the phonebook. Got one every year up until like 2009/2010.
Nope. Always had the preferred pizza places menus on hand. I can count on one hand the number of times I had a use for a phonebook aside from destroying my snowblower.
I hated doing this like at the beach or somewhere like that especially in a part of the country not really well known for decent pizza. I don’t think I ever landed on a good one.
I still call in my order for pick up or walk in order ..they know Friday 4 pm Im ordering meatball pie with onions peppers and mushrooms ..usually hit the grocery store for a case of beer while I wait

The good old yellow pages. That was our internet back then.
If you had relatives old enough to have outhouses, they'd tell you it was their toilet paper as well.
Sears and Robuck, baby!

Yep the trick was to put as many “A”s in the name as possible so you would be listed first: A A Aaron Pizza Shop
Yep 😆😄 as a kid I was like which should I choose AAA Anthony's pizza or AAA Pizza Place?
That's basically how "Acme" became a thing.
That was a ploy to get Wile E Coyote to buy stuff
Out of Highschool I worked in a Liquor Store named AA Liquors for that very reason.
Pretty ironic name tbh

All those old phone books laying around the house… 😋
Let your fingers do the walking : - )
With every scammy business named ’AAAAAA’ to be at the top.
I can smell the pages in this picture.
Hell yes, can you imagine giving an 18 year old one of these and say looking up the number for...
We had a biz named “Pizza Bolis” and my dumb ass was searching for “Pizza Boboli” hahahaha
And you could get pizza coupons on the back of your grocery store receipt
I still do with one grocery store around here.
You've just unlocked a core memory for me. Yup, I remember several coupons to local businesses on the back of my grocery store receipts.
Or you go to the green pages in the yellow book, where the coupons were
I loved yellow pages.
Yes. Rather fondly. Now you order online like a pleb.
🎶 648-8888 for Pizza Hut Delivery 🎶
Thanks for the long burried memories
I remember when you could get a large pizza and a 2-liter delivered for like $12.
Sarnia yellow pages?

And dont forget the white pages lol

Then looking at a street map to find out how to get there.
New Phone Books = Fresh Coupons
Although that is still a great way to find a good Pizzeria!
Selling YP advertising was my career. Made a ton!
Sometimes the old days weren't so good.
And the coupons in the back
Some had coupons on the page
And knowing their advertized price was correct and final
had the three closest pizza joints' telephone numbers on the fridge..."speed dial"...
I hated doing this like at the beach or somewhere like that especially in a part of the country not really well known for decent pizza. I don’t think I ever landed on a good one.
This isn’t *that* old, there’s area codes next to the numbers!
Consumer highway right there.
The color versions came later, ours was black on yellow paper.

I'm old, but I was young the first hundred times this meme was posted in here.
