Mate I had dogs for my entire life and all of them always ignored or played with kids just assuming the role of "pets". Labs instead naturally got the "parents" role in the family. I saw many times these dogs checking the kids, sleeping with them, guarding them, calling humans for help if there was any trouble and instinctively doing all the mansions that ONLY trained dogs can do usually with blind people!
It's a totally unusual behavior and I don't find anything laughable at all because if a parent read this comment can immediately understand what breed choose for their family. I saw kids of 5 ages with the face completely opened by a single bite from a Chihuahua because parents thought that a little dog was the best choice for kids.
We consider dogs + kids as a simple and natural equation but it's not because if this decision is not well pondered can be very destructive for the entire family.
Small dogs are actually not great choices for families with small kids. Kids are rough with dogs and small dogs can’t handle that as well as large ones can, so it’s more common for them to lash out defensively.
When I get home, my Yorkie jumps up and down like crazy. Her hair fans out in the wind and she looks like a flying squirrel.
Then, as we walk to go outside, she earns her reputation as an ankle biter. She will nip at my heels in a playful way and it’s the CUTEST THING EVER.
I love this dog with all my heart. Best part of my day every day.

A life long lab owner told me recently out of the three (black, chocolate, yellow) that the yellow are the derpiest. This video just confirms it for me, I definitely want to own a yellow lab one day.
Jesus, labs! LOL Ours used to get stuck in a corner if she woke up from a nap and had worked her way into a corner of the room. She'd ever so politely wait for it to move out of her way.

Absolutely. My cousin has one that is literally growing her two kids, I never saw an animal so responsible for kids in my life.
They’re so good around kids! They’re very intelligent but simultaneously the biggest goofs

I've had 2 yellow and on my 2nd white lab now. He is a mega goof Highly suggest any Labrador but idk if I'll get anything but white labs now lol
