Users with blue flair reading "Friend of the sub" are considered well qualified to give advice without having verified lifs. A reminder to all users commenting: **Please make sure that your advice is useful and actionable.** Example of **useful and actionable**: *try setting up for your deadlift by standing a little closer to the bar. This might help you get into position better and make it easier to break from the floor*. Example of **not useful and not actionable**: *lower the weight and work on form.* **Low-effort comments like *my back hurts just watching this* will be removed**, as will references to *snap city* etc. Verbally worrying for the *safety* of a poster simply because you think the form or technique is wrong will be removed. Do yourself a favour and sign up to your local boxing gym. You’ll be surprised how quickly you will pick up the basics!

Ok-Ratio-Spiral

This is the only answer, OP. Find a gym, get instruction.

Ruohoinen

Watch a video of how to throw a hook. Your hook is a swing.

amishdoinks11

They’re also looking away from the target when throwing the hook which is easy on a stationary target but will get you knocked out in an actual fight

Rainbowcowpig0

Chances are… 99.98% of never laying my hands on a real human. Only if I really need to but you both are correct! Thank you!

ac42369

Breathe my brother. Atleast it seems like you arnt. When I first started I held my breath and it gassed me out. Look up breathing techniques.

Weary-Wasabi1721

Relax a bit.

Gnemec3

Your 1-2 does not need to be that fast. You’re not allowing yourself enough time load up the right hand. Bring that lead hand back to guard, reload your hips, and then throw the cross in there. Don’t overthink it, it should all be one quick motion. Also, shorten your hook and keep your eyes on your target. Seems like you’re flailing it as far out as you can and looking in a whole different direction. Calm down, chin down, breathe with each shot, and keep those hands up!

White-runner

Eyes on the target when you're throwing those video game haymakers. Also keep your not haymakering hand up, you open your chin completely up when throwing all of your punches. Keep it up! It's great cardio for sure.

- Your stance seem a bit loose, remember power comes from the legs. - Rotate your hands (like if you're pointing at someone, palm facing down) so you hit the bag with your 2 bigger knuckles (index and middle). - Pull your left hand back a little faster, like you do with your right, after your cross. - Throw your hooks from your guard (face height), and if you want to load them up turn your torso before throwing, rather than swinging your arm behind you. These are all easy mistakes to fix, if you look up a couple of videos on youtube you'll learn in no time.

Rainbowcowpig0

I really appreciate the detailed explanation! This really helps my brain comprehend how to perform better!

yosoymeme

Learn to use your hips when throwing a punch, right now you’re using all arms, you’ll be surprised how much more power you can generate when you actually put your lower body into it.

Rainbowcowpig0

My hips crackle ha! I need to grease them. You are right though!

DankManPro

Use hips to generate power, you’re only swinging arms rn

choi2212

One week of actual boxing gym, even group lessons, will significantly improve your foundation. Id wager even one class will make significant impact.

vicvega88

Relax, breathe, and pretend you’re boxing someone.

IndependentUseful739

Keep that left up when you throw the hook, and keep it under control. You got a little wild and left your chin open. Overall, dude, you look pretty dam good.

Rainbowcowpig0

Thanks bro! I still have a lot to learn!

SmoothIndependent416

I recommend a boxing gym membership, or some youtube training videos on how to keep your guard up and how to throw a hook. Good luck and never give up! 😁

Rainbowcowpig0

Thanks brother! Never will give up! I dig that ha

Marston_vc

Brother you’re on a fast track to hyperextending your right elbow if you keep round house swinging at it like that. Not a pleasant injury/tweak to recover from.

Rainbowcowpig0

I’m aware of this problem. I naturally hyperextend. My Physical Therapist told me to me careful. You are right and now I’m more aware ha thank you

Usernameofthisuser

Here is the sub you want, good luck! r/Amateur_Boxing

Cookiemonster975

when you throw your back hand you wanna twist your back foot in the same timing, you'll get more power.

Rainbowcowpig0

Oh! I’ll try that! Thanks man

fanazz0

We can see that you have started boxing not from a long time, all I got to say is keep it up! It’s a wonderful sport for the mind and for the body, the only thing I’m suggesting you is to start learning in a boxing gym whit someone that can guide you in an intelligent way, but either way good job buddy

Rainbowcowpig0

Thank you brother! I’ll keep it going

Sweet-Palpitation473

I know everyone in the comments wants to seem like a pro n everything but legit if you're interested in boxing even a little, sign up for a course. It's phenomenal.

Rainbowcowpig0

LivinInWalmart

PLEASE get a coach

Milous273

Ehh... So First of all endurance, second Is your Stand, you Are too open, next place your joints near core And hand fully cover your head back, if you dont do that your oponent ll punish IT by Fast punch to head without any defender leading in k.o. instantly, next train suqats And then jumping squats to use floor as your co-worker you Stand on thé ground but you ignore it, yet you can use legs from bottom to goinup Faster creating heavier momentům which can be lethal fór oponent (So be respectful too And avoid using IT if not necrssary) Also train your evade, use sticks, strings And backup squats on one leg to train goin back from oponent punch, IT can make oponent unbalanced puttin oponent in disadvantage, Also your punch must be straight, punch from side Is opening your skull And Is less defensed, fór better advices i would recommend to sign in boxing classes, but rule Nu.1 should be "Always respect oponent , since your every punch can be lethal with proper training"

Shellstormz

For the noise(we all hate it) put a piece of tatami underneath it and itl be easier to focus

askingforarefill
