I'm forever praying for a Tranzit remake, I love that map so much even if people dislike it. Town alone is one of the best zombies maps ever.
EDIT: OH MY GOD I JUST READ THE POST. I DIDNT EVEN SEE A TRANZIT REMAKE IS APPARENTLY COMING
Well, if we're considering special editions, Black Ops 1 launched with 6 maps. WaW remakes were included in a special edition of the game, and eventually I think they were added to the season pass.
For that, the WAW maps were eventually packaged with Moon to form the Rezurrection DLC. Heard if you bought the collectors edition, you get Moon for free. But if you didn’t get the Collectors Edition, you can get both THE WAW maps and Moon like the standard COD DLC packs.
IIRC, Yes it was at launch, just locked in the Season Pass, which is in the vain of The Giant locked in the Season Pass/Special Bundle Edition and would release later during the lifecycle
The giant launched with bo3 though. You had to have the season pass but it was still there at launch. I don't remember anything about Nuketown zombies at the launch of bo2 until later on in the year.
Pentagon back then was goated. Actually just because of the tightness and its thematic ambient. I wonder how true the leaks are. I hope so much to see a Zombie Themed 9/11 Map… (is it wrong to hope for it?)
I mean.. yeah.
I think the better approach would be to theme it around a fictional terrorist event, at the least. Like Terminal from MW2 or Picadilly from MW2019.
They could do something like Free Fall from Ghosts? Like a collapsing building just after a disaster, or the freshly made debris like BF4's Shanghai.. but I don't know how to feel about *actually* basing it off 9/11
Nah I want 911.
Bush, Kanye, mark Wahlberg, and a depressed office worker are the 4 players
Round 1 takes place on one of the hijacked planes
The 4 heros beat the terrorists who then turn into zombies and cause the plane crash.
Pack a punch is in the other plane and you have to get to the 2nd tower to pap your guns
This could be like die rise but actually good this time
And black ops 3 which most consider the best zombies in the series launched with 2.
I would rather have 2 great maps than they spread the zombies team too thin and get 4 mediocre at best maps as a result.
The Giant was Der Riese for familiarize players and new players playing the basic experience to get the gist of COD Zombies.
Also fun fact, The Giant was meant to be on BO2 Zombies from a canned BO2 DLC 5 before it got pushed into BO3 Zombies as the bonus map.
Yeah, I know, and also read it lately that it was supposed to be BO2 DLC, that’s cool, wish to play that version someday.
But still, The Giant was only a standalone buy between DLC 1 and 2 i think, i remember absolutely hating SoE after it being the only map for a while
There’s a [BO3 Community Patch](https://github.com/shiversoftdev/t7patch) that works if you want to play online safely with friends, if you play Zombies.
IMO IX, Voyage of Despair and Classified were all bangers. Blood of the Dead wasn't even that bad either, just not as good as the original Mob.
BO4 definitely had the best launch for me. Quality AND quantity.
It was literally the only redeeming factor of Cold War. I'm 100% on the fence purely for zombies. I bought MWIII because of the carry forward and zombies. But 100% regret getting it because Zombies is another afterthought that gets zero love.
Well maybe because it shouldn't. A game that costs $60 or $70 should come with at least 3 or 4 curated zombie maps on release, considering how widely knowns and usually liked round based zombies is in Call of Duty, specially in the Black Ops games.
2 maps is a joke and you can very easily tell that they intend to release more maps slowly in order to hold the interest of players.

Im not much of a zombies fan so not sure how it always worked, but its easy to assume that people would love to have more maps. If Multiplayer has lets say 10 maps, why should zombies mode only have 1-2 maps.
And they can easily afford it, lets face it.

Rule 10. Please refrain from any toxic behaviour. Console wars will be removed and any comments involved in it or encouraging it. Any hate against YouTubers, influencers, leakers, journalists, etc., will be removed.
that's not how Zombies development works. only Treyarch handle Zombies, on top of the shift to seasonal releases. simply be patient and play another CoD game with Zombies.
that’s definitely how it works, they didn’t put ton of different studios to help CoD for nothing, Treyarch gets a ton of help and we still get barebones games on day one
Launch maps went 1-2-2-2-4-1 and now 2. There is 0 reason for a game 6 years later to have half the maps with far longer development time but I guess people are just conditioned to "at least it's more than what we got with the last 3 games"
But at the same time, they were getting the hands of using the MW Engine to get their Zombies assets in the ground up + getting 4 years of dev time after Vanguard was a disaster.
I’m been thinking for a while why are we saying this West Virginia map is going to be a tranzit remake besides seeing bank and police tape assets in the files
Also, a Church, PowerPlant, Underground Labs and a Bank.
Don’t forget that Tranzit was supposed to be on BO4 Zombies aswell with Die Rise and Buried before they got under purgatory (the assets of the maps are finished but are under hold due to BO4’s failure.)
Yes that too being the main reason, after Sledgehammer and Raven had creative differences that got their Cold War game dropped out. Black Ops 4 was supposed to have a Year 2 content but too bad the Zombies community was shredding Chaos Story and the gameplay mechanics apart..
No Problem.
But, I have to respect Treyarch clutching out Cold War, even if under the time constraints and short dev time thanks to Sledgehammer and Raven not getting their bs together working on COD 2020 that got Treyarch to force takeover to work on Cold War by ATVI, they managed to pull Cold War off.
Cold War is safe to say a game that had a short dev time but is a decent COD game. The Zombies part is diverse, but the gameplay there is a massive improvement compared to BO4 Zombies.
They actually said this in Cold War Zombies, as CWZ Mechanics are coming back. If you don’t want to start with a AR or Shotgun, you can select your Pistol as your loadout to have that classic zombies feel.
You could do that in CW, right? It just wasn’t the same as starting from nothing.
Having abilities in zombies was also kind of extra. Not a bad change per say, it just kind of diluted that element of being “caught off guard” when you forget to reload/ get stuck in a corner and a swarm of zombies just piled in. Having that from the beginning kind of took away the sense of danger in the early rounds
Yes really. Given the rarity system that you start with a really weak gun of your loadout at the start, you can go to a wallbuy with a specific rarity, the box that can give you a weapons with that rarity, or go to the Arsenal to upgrade your starting loadout to reach the highest rarity.
Round Based Maps are going to make their grand return, but Cold War Zombies mechanics are going to make a return, given that many loved the gameplay. I know many don’t like it because of the “Too Easy” aspect, but casuals alike really like CWZ.
I definitely agree, I did enjoy outbreak but because I could kinda control when I wanted a challenge. I do prefer round based and am curious if there’ll be a larger round based gameplay option where it’s kinda a mix of both
Cold War was pretty good in terms of gameplay. I actually much preferred the perk system over BO3. Only didn't like that you started with a crazy strong gun and even stronger melee. Atmosphere and creativity of the maps sucked, but gameplay was solid.
Will they be good ol classic round based maps though, or the insane, sprawling, super long and linear corridors so much so that we had to add tele-porters to the map round based maps
Mixture of both, given that the COD Zombies community expects the EE main quest in both these two maps and Round Based making their full return.
I expect the Terminus Island to be somewhat a mixture of Classic Round Based and the Liberty Falls map being the Shadows of Evil/Tranzit
Just give me the confirmation this isn't warzone weapon tier open world slop trash like the last """"zombies"""" have been in other cod games and maybe ill buy it. Fuck what they did to zombies, please go back to BO3 style.
While this is true and Warzone is mostly responsible for COD’s true downfall, the Zombies portion should be in its roots, even if Cold War Zombies mechanics make a return.
Vanguard and MWZ were testaments of bringing Zombies assets in the MW engine (even though those experiences were mixed bags or in vanguard’s case, bad) + 4 years of development for Treyarch’s game help them a lot to craft them to a good COD game. Zombies should be fine as long it appeals both casual and hardcore players.
What is really needed is a standalone zombies game with all previous maps from each previous game, a good bunch of new maps and mod workshop. BO3 is the closest thing to that, but it just won't do it because it doesn't properly work online.
Bluntly put, it's so fucking stupid to spread this one game mode across decades in a bunch of games and multi-generational platforms with the same age old connection and security problems. I know the smallhats need their 600 gigazillion dollars to comfortably bathe in, but it'll always remain a misanthropic release model.
While a Standalone Zombies game would work, they said in the past that they wouldn’t want to push a standalone COD Zombies game due to jumping the shark and COD is based on what modes players would play in-between.
I haven’t played zombies much this year or the last few iterations. But is there no hope of classic zombies mode coming back? I hate the new one (personally, not an attack on anyone who likes it). Just want to manage expectations… any hope classic zombies comes back?
Not sure why you’re suggesting that BO4 having four maps at launch (three free and one paid) was a bad thing. It offered way more variety. I love zombies, but playing the same map over and over again gets dreadfully boring quickly. It’s nice to switch up the scenery. It didn’t “split up the community” any more than every CoD game does when it introduces DLC zombies maps. At least everyone who owns the game has three entire maps for free.
Technically, BO4’s development was a mess behind the scenes.
The reason people are saying 4 maps at launch was bad because two maps were a new story while the other two were reimagines of two maps of an ongoing story. Basically, it split the community of a new story and an ongoing 10 year old story.
Chaos was a flop but heard from leakers from the COD Zombies side that Chaos was Treyarch’s new map ideas and Aether was meant to end with a Zombies Chronicles 2 with Reimagines, given they hit a crossroads that creating new Aether maps opens up story gaps.
Yep, it’s insane since most of the Zombies team focus on the main mode. David King mostly works on Dead Ops in their free time, so it’s pretty funny but a blessing in disguise, given that Dead Ops is a sub-series.
I don't get why people are mad about 2 maps, that's always been the standard.
ah.. Kino and The Pentagon. Loved that
Also Tranzit and Nuketown, Shadows of Evil and The Giant
I'm forever praying for a Tranzit remake, I love that map so much even if people dislike it. Town alone is one of the best zombies maps ever. EDIT: OH MY GOD I JUST READ THE POST. I DIDNT EVEN SEE A TRANZIT REMAKE IS APPARENTLY COMING
Nuketown zombies wasn't there at launch.
It was technically if you have the Special Edition or the Season Pass
Well, if we're considering special editions, Black Ops 1 launched with 6 maps. WaW remakes were included in a special edition of the game, and eventually I think they were added to the season pass.

Was it? I remember the Nuketown zombies map not being released until later on in Bo2's lifecycle.
You had to pre order or get a special edition of the game
IIRC, Yes it was at launch, just locked in the Season Pass, which is in the vain of The Giant locked in the Season Pass/Special Bundle Edition and would release later during the lifecycle
The giant launched with bo3 though. You had to have the season pass but it was still there at launch. I don't remember anything about Nuketown zombies at the launch of bo2 until later on in the year.
I bought the hardened edition of bo2 at launch and had nuketown at launch.
I just googled it and the Nuketown zombies map released a month after launch.
It was there, i played it day one because i bought the hardened edition
It was included in the season pass! I know for a fact it was available at least by December of 2012, so maybe a month after launch?
Pentagon back then was goated. Actually just because of the tightness and its thematic ambient. I wonder how true the leaks are. I hope so much to see a Zombie Themed 9/11 Map… (is it wrong to hope for it?)

Five is my favorite map. Call me insane but I’d love a remake of it in this with Clinton, Gore, Saddam, and Cohen.
They'd probably do Powell over Cohen. Powell is more well known and was in the trailer.
I was going to say him but I said Cohen only because I think Bill was closer to him.
I loved it because the banter between the characters was absolutely top tier.
What about Nacht der untoten ? Did you give it a chance, did you?
i never had bo3 unfortunately:(
That was World at war bruh
Didn't play that either, first result i got on google was bo3 lol
it was dlc for bo3 also
There was only 1 at launch for Cold War and Cold War zombies was awesome
And black ops 3 which most consider the best zombies in the series launched with 2. I would rather have 2 great maps than they spread the zombies team too thin and get 4 mediocre at best maps as a result.
well it had 2 if you had season pass; the normies had to run SoE until the first DLC dropped lmao

Black Ops 3 also has Steam Workshop support for the PC version. Just a shame that the old COD games on PC are legit a security risk

Bo4 zombies is goated, it's quite different so I see why people don't like it but if you like the new changes I think it's better than bo3
Oh man I read that wrong, forgive me
It was literally the only redeeming factor of Cold War. I'm 100% on the fence purely for zombies. I bought MWIII because of the carry forward and zombies. But 100% regret getting it because Zombies is another afterthought that gets zero love.
Was literally the worst Zombies.
I don’t mind tbh

2 maps is the barely minimum, they should add at least 4 now
ever heard of quality over quantity?
they can do both, they have a ton studios and money working on this
that's not how Zombies development works. only Treyarch handle Zombies, on top of the shift to seasonal releases. simply be patient and play another CoD game with Zombies.

Nine pregnant women can't make a baby in one month. They're still on a yearly time constraint.
>Nine pregnant women can't make a baby in one month. maybe because nine women can't make a baby at all, especially if they're already pregnant 🤓🤓🤓🤓
last time we got 4 maps at launch half of them were awful.
it's crazy people think having more maps is bad, we can have more and good maps they are not a indie studio
The last time they did that it was bad. Black Ops 4
If you asked me, IX and Classified were good fun maps. Voyage and Blood are heavy mixed bags, but Blood felt kinda a downgrade to Mob tbh.
As a massive Mob fan I'm right there with you. Blood was a huge disappointment.
Launch maps went 1-2-2-2-4-1 and now 2. There is 0 reason for a game 6 years later to have half the maps with far longer development time but I guess people are just conditioned to "at least it's more than what we got with the last 3 games"

Do they mean an actual remake of tranzit or like tranzit elements in a new map sort of? Because tranzit takes place in Washington
Tranzit Elements apparently. I’d be shocked if the Liberty Falls has a Tranzit Sub-section area that was ported from that supposed BO4 Tranzit.
BO4's failure? The source I read refer to Treyarch being used as an emergency support studio for a different COD developer. Perhaps Cold War.
Yes that too being the main reason, after Sledgehammer and Raven had creative differences that got their Cold War game dropped out. Black Ops 4 was supposed to have a Year 2 content but too bad the Zombies community was shredding Chaos Story and the gameplay mechanics apart..
Ahh yes that makes sense! Thanks for clarification
I just want it to be starting pistols

Oh it's cold war mechanics? Well RIP zombies then I guess.
Well, at least we’re actually getting a Crew and Operators being optional
RIP Zombies? The mechanics is what made Cold War feel fun and fresh. Something Zombies really needed
I hope the Transit Remake is real I really loved that map
Having to leave teammates for dead by hopping on the bus to get away was always the funniest tragedy
It was the original "say thank you to the bus driver", I loved kniving him to try to make him kick me out but glitch myself to stay in
"Door privileges have been *fucking* revoked!" Tranzit Bus Driver was absolutely amazing.
If the two maps are good, then great. There's no need to overdo it with more maps if they're just okay
I hope it's like more traditional zombies and not like Cold war for example.
I do prefer round based and am curious if there’ll be a larger round based gameplay option where it’s kinda a mix of both
I've been playing since WaW, I adore Cold War Zombies. It's so much fun, I had a blast playing it with my friends.
Cold War was pretty good in terms of gameplay. I actually much preferred the perk system over BO3. Only didn't like that you started with a crazy strong gun and even stronger melee. Atmosphere and creativity of the maps sucked, but gameplay was solid.
If it's a tranzit remake, will we get separate minimaps like in BO2? they had each location playable separately
That's good, now if only we could get actual characters in it Hell I'd be fine with just getting old ones back to play as
Fine by me. I wonder if we’ll get a new round based zombie map every two seasons or every 3 seasons. I’m still unsure if Outbreak is returning.
Will they be good ol classic round based maps though, or the insane, sprawling, super long and linear corridors so much so that we had to add tele-porters to the map round based maps

Cold War Zombies mechanics return mostly. A lot of players really enjoy Cold War Zombies because of its accessibility and gameplay.
probably not for me then, zombies died with cold war, that shit is we want the warzone crowd bait.
While this is true and Warzone is mostly responsible for COD’s true downfall, the Zombies portion should be in its roots, even if Cold War Zombies mechanics make a return. Surely they should go on longer than just 2 rounds
Nice, kino Der toten 2.0 and five 2.0
[удалено]
You mean 3.0?
I'm happy for this!
2 works for me. As long as round based is back im happy
TRANZIT! god i hope that is real, i don't care what anyone says, that map slaps.

Was Cold War the classic start w no guns mode?
Basically like bringing your loadouts like a rifle or shotgun at Round 1. Treyarch did say you can start with a pistol like in classic zombies.
Awesome. Thanks!
I dont even care if its a single map as long as its SoE or ZiS levels of good. I just want them to be bangers like they used to.
Wasn't TranZit on the West Coast? Why would a TranZit remake be in West Virginia?
Transit will be the only reason I'll buy a COD since 2014
Peak! ![gif](giphy|uvVERUy0XwVvLrbXkD)
Please remake/expand on Der Riese. My all time favourite zombie map.
I feel like this and Kino are the safest maps to remake. They’re both pretty simple and it would bring older fans in.
If it's a Tranzit remake, I'll be happy! I missed a Zombie mode like that.
Better not have to solve a long ass Easter egg to play an Eminem song.
Just give us a Tranzit

Also im sure we wil lget dead ops arcade then again that was david vahn mode idk if they gonna carry it on
Vahn left Treyarch a year ago. Dead Ops is made by one person who works on the Dead Ops series in their free time
Dead ops is made by david king only? Wtf I thought the zombies team worked on it together that’s acc crazy
Yep, it’s insane since most of the Zombies team focus on the main mode. David King mostly works on Dead Ops in their free time, so it’s pretty funny but a blessing in disguise, given that Dead Ops is a sub-series.
