My last show was Weird Al too, Mandatory Fun tour in Burlington, VT nine year ago! Going to Hozier next week with my kids, excited to see a big outdoor show again, in the same spot I saw the first tour of Lollapalooza.
Nice! I saw SP in Anaheim then in LA a few days later but in December.
When they played San Diego back in 2015, I won the silent auction for Ogre's stage worn suit. I donated it to Martin Atkins' Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music in Chicago in 2021. It would have sat in my closet until I died then been tossed into the skip with the rest of my stuff. I figured it was better to share it with everyone who visited that museum than to be in my closet.
They put on an excellent show. They called it quits as a band so no more SP, but the Kevins (Ogre and Cevin Key) will be doing their own projects still.
I saw Jane’s in Anchorage years ago. They played during a flash flood but it was still an EPIC show. It was in the parking lot of a pizzeria and I had to drink my beer in the porta potties because it would fill in rain water before you could drink it.
I haven't seen IG since the mid-1990s, but during COVID I did watch a few of their streaming shows to help support them. Really enjoyed those. Have followed them on FB for years and always like seeing their setlists before each show. If they were to swing through my area I'd probably go again.
I remember Indigo Girls playing at my university(undergrad) before they were big. 2 years later saw them at a proper huge venue and it was so different, but still amazing.
I hadn't heard of them until 1989, when Closer to Fine broke on college radio. But we were all into them from that point on, at least into the mid-1990s. I still love those first several albums and Rites of Passage remains one of my favorites.
Does stand up count? If so, Marc Maron.
If not, Manic Street Preachers and Suede (fuck yeah)
Next is The Roots, Digable Planets, and Arrested Development
And after that…the mother of all desired shows…PULP…we are flying to Chicago for it and not a damn ragret.
I just got back from French Quarter Fest & Jazzfest in New Orleans yesterday. Saw something like 62 different performances in a month. Monday night it was Papa Gros Funk with Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes. Tomorrow I'll see some nobody local Dead cover band I've never heard of if I don't get motivated to drive 90 minutes tonight to see Eggy.
I am apparently not very with it ... the last concert I attended was the Tallis Scholars singing Renaissance choral music and the next concert I'm going to is Romeo et Juliette by Charles Gounod, performed by a visiting opera company.
But I swear I am cool and also totally go to rock concerts!
If you don’t count Blues festivals and bands at small clubs, probably George Clinton and the P Funk Allstars. That was over ten years ago and I had a backstage pass.
I saw JJ Grey and Mofro a couple weeks back at a theater venue. I haven't been to a stadium show since Lollapalooza in '96, I think. That said, I'm going to see Neil Young this Saturday, and that's a big venue.
Last concert I went to i took my 14 year old to her first concert. Some dude named Noah Finnce. Terrible but the opening band was awesome Action/Adventure.
Next up is The Punk in Drublic festival with NOFX
Last concerts I saw were Sierra Ferrell and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and also Tenacious D
Next up: Amigo the Devil, Bridge City Sinners, Cake, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats (again), and a few others.
Last: The Noodles (local grateful dead cover band) - Sunday
Next: Cosmic Coyote (different local grateful dead cover band). - Saturday
Last "big" concert: Black Crowes (was pretty disappointing, though we saw them a year or so ago and they were great) - About a month ago I think.
Next "big" concert: Dead and Company (at the Sphere in Las Vegas) - 3 nights over memorial day weekend and another 3 nights July 11-13
Wife and I saw U2 at The Sphere, U2 was ok, but The Sphere was amazing!!! Not a Dead fan, but I can only imagine how fantastic their visuals would be on that giant display!
Have a friggin blast! We sat up in the 400 section. 300 would have been a bit better, but so would being more in the center. Our seats weren't bad, but it would have been a bit more immersive being more centrally located.
Nice! I have not come across many folks who went to a show there for either U2 or Phish that didn't say it was amazing. Very much looking forward to it - particularly pleased that so many people said it was the best sound they have ever heard at a show, in some ways that is even cooler to me than the visuals!
We're on the floor for the first three nights (wife and I are wire to wire dancers at these shows) but trying out seats for the July 11th show on my birthday. Still have to decide what to do for the 12/13 - but I'd wager we end up back on the floor for those two nights.
From what I've read/heard from friends, it is two totally different experiences.
Floor is a party atmosphere and more like a regular concert. You can't really take in the visuals w/out wrecking your neck.
Seats are more like taking in a show with music you really like. The visuals are really powerful and you'll be amazed at how great it looks!!
I hope you have a blast in each experience! please report back on both floor and seating experiences!!
I saw Brian when he first did PS and then again when he did SMiLE. He didn’t look uncomfortable/unhappy but was definitely suffering.
When I saw him with Al on the tour you probably saw, it was sad. He really didn’t want to be there and was struggling- Al kept close proximity the whole night and Blondie Chaplin came out which put some pep in his step but the whole concert seemed forced
I think it was the Kills, but it's been a couple months.
This year I have tickets for the following though;
Social Distortion & Bad Religion
Peter Hook
PJ Harvey
Metallica
The Rolling Stones
Fontaines DC
We saw New Order at Hollywood Bowl back in 2017, then in May of 2018 we saw Peter Hook & the Light. So it two shows and several months, but we got to see "all of New Order"!!
Peter puts on a great show!!!
I got to see PJ Harvey open for U2 many, many years ago.
Porno for Pyros, most recent.
Billie Eilish up next. (My daughter asked me to take her. Some Billie Eilish slaps, some of it seems very mediocre mumbling/whispering ASMR bullshit with a Casio accompanying it).
last festival: Black Angels, All them Witches, Witch (JMascis drumming), Earthless @ Austin PsycheFest
last night: Mr Bungle
next: Lightning Bolt with Big Business
AJR are super fun live, saw them in Glasgow a few years ago. TØP are fantastic live, we saw them on the Trench tour too. Off to see them again next year.
Last two shows in the last 6 months were Steve Hackett in STL and Mastodon with Gojira at the same venue. Next one on the books officially is King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard in Chicago, but that's not till September.
Last show was Peter Frampton in March. Seeing Heart next week. Have at least 8 more shows by the end of September.
I never stopped going. Live music is the best thing.
Last show: The Canadian Opera Company's *Electra* by Luigi Cherubini with Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role.
Next show: Teatro Real (Madrid, Spain) doing a different *Electra* by Marc-Antoine Charpentier.
I haven't been to a pop/rock concert in decades. It's all classical these days.
Saw Death Grips in San Francisco last year. At the end of the month Drowning Pool will be playing in my town for a motorcycle rally, I am thinking about wandering over and seeing the show since it is free.
Judas Priest a couple weeks ago!!! Killer show for both the band and people watching.
For this summer: Bad Religion/Social D, Guided By Voices, The Church/Afghan Whigs
Last big one was U2 in Feb. Was supposed to see Neil Young last week but it was postponed. Not sure who’s next but always a lot of options where I live.
I went to a festival back in February, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hozier, Macklemore, Young the Giant, Matt and Kim.
Next up will probably be Alanis Morissette or Glass Animals. But I haven't bought tickets yet.
In the month of April, my girlfriend and I saw: Ministry, Gary Numan, Frontline Assembly: Front 242, Nitzer Ebb: English Beat and Adam Ant (Adam Ant cancelled last second due to rain/outdoor venue): Mission UK.
Three of those four shows were in a four day period. Exhausting. And back in November/December we travelled to see Skinny Puppy's last few shows.
We're taking a break. I don't know what our next show will be. Possibly OMD later this year, but I'm not sure.
Not counting an old college band that still plays a local bar once in awhile, the last true live act I saw was the Digital Hardcore Tour in around 1997-98.
Atari Teenage Riot, Shizuo, Ec8or.
Live music has never really been my thing.
Last week saw Bad Religion (Social D was the opener but Im not a big fan of them) that was a nice old folk show lol
Tomorrow its the Decembrists. Later in the summer 311, Aquabats, the Descendants/Circle Jerks/Buzzcocks
My last concert was James Barker Band last summer. My next concert is Justin Timberlake in October but we’ll likely pick up tickets to catch a show or two over the summer.
Most recently, Journey. But that was like a year ago. I have no current plans to go to any other concerts. My old-ass ears just aren't ready for that anymore.
Rakim w/ DJ Jazzy Jeff and Ravi Coltrane.
Next up is Weezer, but that's in a few months, so there might be others before that. I just haven't bought those tix yet.
Last gig was Fields of the Nephilim, an auld goth band and my favourite band of all time. Next up a Pink Floyd tribute band, then Slipknot, next Wardruna and then twenty øne pilots.
VNV Nation last month (hubby's first time seeing them!). Not sure what's next but our local watering hole does live music all the time so probably whoever catches my ear next time I'm out. Looked into The Sisters of Mercy for September but the prices are way out of my budget.🌹
Last concert was Khruangbin and Hermanos Gutierrez in ABQ.
I'm not exactly sure what the next show is. I have tickets for Sierra Ferrell in August, and ACL Festival Weekend 2 tickets as well. Oh and look at that! Victor Wooten in June.
Vienna Philharmonic. Bernard Haitink conducting R. Strauss' *Don Quixote* and other works. That was over 20 years ago. Sigh.
I might go see the Kansas City Symphony performing Mahler's 2nd in June.
Nekrogoblikon! Might see Born of Osiris or Social D next, but have tix to Animals as Leaders later this year. Oh and I bought a ticket to see 10 Years. Not a huge fan, but it was cheap and they're playing at a venue two blocks from my house. And I need more live music.
Last concert was Motley Crue w/ Def Leppard & Alice Cooper but that was for nostalgia only.
My favorite recent concert was GHOST last fall. And just got tickets to RITE HERE RITE NOW the Ghost Movie!
Last concert was Eggy, a mediocre jam band. I left half way through because it was a Wednesday and 10pm and I need sleep. Next week is Cake which I’m really excited for, I’ve never see them live.
My last concert was My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, that was in March. The next show is Green Day, also have some local shows coming up, bands from the 90’s that still play. Fragile Porcelain Mice, Sinister Dane. And I’m seeing Ministey, Filter, Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper later this year.
Silversun Pickups and next is The Decemberists, then Fleet Foxes, then Wilco. It's the spring of big bands I haven't seen. Then, of course, Merge35 in July.
Music only? I attend a lot of comedy gigs and was at one that was mostly music (Bill Bailey) just last night.
Last: QOTSA in November
Next: Pet Shop Boys, then Garbage two days later
Violent Femmes at the 9:30 club in DC
I haven’t seen them in 25 years - they were great then!
Neil Young and Cowboy Junkies
You lucky dog!!
Primus, last night
Primus sucks!
KMFDM sucks!
Kill MotherFucking Depeche Mode
Kill Me For Drug Money was always my favorite.
Hello fellow A villain
I was in Asheville for sleep token!!
I just saw Flaming Lips for the first time a few weeks ago.
I saw them last year for the first time (was not really familiar with any of their stuff). I was completely blown away!
They have been putting on great shows since the 90's. Lovely group of artists.
How were they? I am going to see them open for Weezer
Open for Weezer? Interesting.
Yeah also Dinosaur Jr. Should be a trippy show
I saw Weezer and the Pixies a few years ago. pixies we’re good but Weezer blew me away
Last was Brian Jonestown Massacre in the fall. Next will be Johnny Marr & James!
Nice! We saw Johnny Marr a few years ago, well, before covid anyway!! We also saw James and Psychedelic Furs together a couple of years ago.
I’m going to get tickets to see Johnny Marr when they go on sale Friday…I think I’ve seen him 3 times. He makes his playing look so effortless
I'm all over that Johnny Marr and James show. I saw James in San Francisco maybe 10-15 years ago. Last was New Order in 2017.
Last concert: Ministry a month or two ago Next concert: Sunny Day Real Estate this Sunday
Saw Weird Al a couple years ago, that was fantastic! I don't have a current show planned but would love to see Reverend Horton Heat again.
My last show was Weird Al too, Mandatory Fun tour in Burlington, VT nine year ago! Going to Hozier next week with my kids, excited to see a big outdoor show again, in the same spot I saw the first tour of Lollapalooza.
I saw RHH in a small club in Dallas in 1995… pretty awesome :)
Skinny Puppy last November, Bad Religion and Social Distortion tomorrow!
Thank you for doing that!
I missed Skuppy when they were around town. Saw them many years ago- are they holding up?
They put on an excellent show. They called it quits as a band so no more SP, but the Kevins (Ogre and Cevin Key) will be doing their own projects still.
I also saw Skinny Puppy last November. What an amazing show!
Last one: Shannon and the Clams Next one: L7
L7- fuck yeah! I saw them open for someone in the late 90s and they destroyed the headliner
I discovered Shannon and the Clams a few years ago, during Covid, and love them!
Shannon and the clams are excellent. Underrated talent in that group.
Welcome to Rockville-4 day metal fest in Daytona-I’m here now-starts today!
Damn! Have fun and stay safe. Motley Crue, Judas Priest, and Anthrax tonight. Imagine that back in the 80s? Holy shit!
Jane's Addiction last year, Cruel World this Saturday (can't wait)!
I saw Jane’s in Anchorage years ago. They played during a flash flood but it was still an EPIC show. It was in the parking lot of a pizzeria and I had to drink my beer in the porta potties because it would fill in rain water before you could drink it.
Last week: A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, and Primus ("Sessenta Tour") Next up: Bruce Hornsby in July
Jealous of Sessenta
I saw it too. That setup was so dope, the way they just moved from one band to another seamlessly. And the ending jam(s),holy sh\*t!
Ice Cube last Saturday. Next up is Slick Rick in a week and a half, then Snoop, then Stick Figure, then Springsteen.
Last show was Indigo Girls, always a great show. Next is Cage the Elephant with Young the Giant.
I haven't seen IG since the mid-1990s, but during COVID I did watch a few of their streaming shows to help support them. Really enjoyed those. Have followed them on FB for years and always like seeing their setlists before each show. If they were to swing through my area I'd probably go again.

Cage the Elephant put on a great show!
Last - Weezer on 12/30 Next - Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid on 9/11
Be sure to set a calendar invite so that you’ll never forget 😉
Does stand up count? If so, Marc Maron. If not, Manic Street Preachers and Suede (fuck yeah) Next is The Roots, Digable Planets, and Arrested Development And after that…the mother of all desired shows…PULP…we are flying to Chicago for it and not a damn ragret.

I just got back from French Quarter Fest & Jazzfest in New Orleans yesterday. Saw something like 62 different performances in a month. Monday night it was Papa Gros Funk with Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes. Wife and I saw U2 at The Sphere, U2 was ok, but The Sphere was amazing!!! Not a Dead fan, but I can only imagine how fantastic their visuals would be on that giant display! Have a friggin blast! Last saw: Sun Volt Seeing next (August) : Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr.
Last: Interpol, Next: Iron and Wine
The last show I went to was X in Oxnard. No firm plans for a future show.
Last was U2 at the sphere in Las Vegas Nov 2023. Next Miki Berenyi in June
Melvins. It will always be Melvins as much as I can.
Last - Beyond Frontiers in March. Journey tribute band fronted by the lead singer of Anthrax. They're amazing. Next - Echo and the Bunnymen next week.
Babyface and it was amazing.
I saw [Wednesday](https://www.wednesday.band) recently, going to see [The Chats](https://www.thechatslovebeer.com) this weekend.
Last concert was The Swans Next up in order: Bonny Light Horsemen Julia Holter Pixies/modest mouse Johnny Marr / James Phantogram Justice Airiel
Vienna Philharmonic. Bernard Haitink conducting R. Strauss' *Don Quixote* and other works. That was over 20 years ago. Sigh. I might go see the Kansas City Symphony performing Mahler's 2nd in June.
Last one, Nick Cave. Next one Tenacious D, I think this might be a bit more upbeat...
Sierra Farrell was the last. Great fucking show. Next is TBD.
Pearl Jam. May 4th and May 6th. Next one coming is Ashes of the Leviathan Tour with Lamb of God and Mastodon.
Last concert was Motley Crue w/ Def Leppard & Alice Cooper but that was for nostalgia only. My favorite recent concert was GHOST last fall. And just got tickets to RITE HERE RITE NOW the Ghost Movie!
Skinny Puppy - last year PJ Harvey - in September
Last concert was Eggy, a mediocre jam band. I left half way through because it was a Wednesday and 10pm and I need sleep. Next week is Cake which I’m really excited for, I’ve never see them live.
Early this month I saw The English Beat and Adam Ant in Albuquerque.
Last: Red Hot Chili Peppers Next: Pearl Jam
My last concert was My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, that was in March. The next show is Green Day, also have some local shows coming up, bands from the 90’s that still play. Fragile Porcelain Mice, Sinister Dane. And I’m seeing Ministey, Filter, Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper later this year.
Tool. Not sure who is next.
They Might Be Giants last July. Seeing Stray Cats in August.
Last: QOTSA in November Next: Pet Shop Boys, then Garbage two days later
Tenacious D on their tour Last year!
