He played a LOT of Final Fantasy online and has played almost every Final Fantasy game there is. He knows the grind lifestyle LOL.
But yeah, hes pretty neat. But I think Genshin is the only game he plays anymore.
My mind: “why is a 9 year old on Reddit? Tf2 came out in 2007, that’s only like 6 years ago……. Wait………… that’s 16 years ago…….. I am turning into dust”
Word of advice from a 35yrold gamer: hit the gym. Get a standing desk for work/gaming. Your body will thank you.
*shakes fist* slow down and use inverted cross hair controls!
I tried showing my dad tf2 once when i was 10. I didnt think he appreciated the death cam where you could see my decapitated head and guts.
I was also justifying why i liked the game because i could burn people with a flamethrower. Dont think that helped his perception of the game
You have one purpose: “Give us peloton!”
Jokes aside keeping that dots uptime is crazy considering how I can’t even keep up my Higanbana and gets flamed by random df people for it.
I only just recently got into RDM. For years, I tried and tried and tried but the whole back and forth resource management just wasn’t doing it for me. Turns out, it was just as simple as switching abilities around to be a little more neat and coherent. Now I’m loving it lol. Can’t wait until I have my first backflip death moment and embarrass myself in front of the squad
Actually one time I randomly asked him which characters he finds most attractive. His reply:
"I like Jean because she looks like an actual woman. Most of the characters look like young girls, like teens. Jean looks like an adult, so I think shes the most attractive."
no, that guy just loves to generalize shit based on 0.000001% sample
bro saw couple of degens on reddit/twitter and think those are "most" genshin fans
Awfully defensive, aren't you?...
I'm kidding, I truly wish better for humanity than that guy being right.
Also there's the generally weird opinion that anyone who finds young characters cute is also a fucking fiddler, when you can generally just think characters like Klee and Nahida are adorable because kids can genuinely be fun to be around. Sometimes. Not often.
It's a very Western or American thing, to immediately think you're a predator or something. Asian cultures are way more comfortable expressing adoration for children
My point is more about the assumption.
Generalizing something without a single proof is in general very bad. Maybe I don't like it because I'm a Law Student and I learnt to be very specific and don't generalize things because you can't be more wrong about that.
Like even if the generalization is true. What is 'most'? Is there a specific percentage or a deceiving perception of a vocal minority? I just hate seeing generalizations because they are very surface level regardless of right or wrong.
He's played on my accoubt before when he's had free time, but after a while I stopped playing in general. He would play the game for me and grind my account when there was nothing to do on his own acc.
I'm 26 and my grandma used to play Zelda lol. However she would also always ask my brother for help when she got stuck 😅
Hopefully my daughter doesn't mind having a sweaty gamer mom 💀
It's funny because my daughter is in her big roblox phase right now which I don't mind because there's some fun unique games on there but man I can't wait till we're playing like pokemon games together or something. That'll be awesome. I know she has an interest in pokemon but where she's living currently they don't "believe in video games" really so she's not allowed to play much.
Man that's cool !!!, I've always wanted to play FPS / MMORPG with my families but none of them are interested sadly
\*sigh, time to finish L4D and Borderlands on my own
I’m 38 and my kids (11, 16) are also gamers. My dad was a gamer but can’t play anymore due to his health condition. If he were able to, he would. It’s the one thing he misses the most.
I'm 35 and both my dad and my grandad used to play video games. I remember my grandad used to be so amazed at the graphics and all the mechanics, I remember watching him play the first tomb raider. I wish he'd lived long enough to see VR develop - he would have loved it. I miss him a lot.
No offense taken!
He has a lot of 5 stars, some of them multiple constellations, and has 100 percent every single region in the game. When Fontaine came out he 100 percented exploration within the first week. His characters are also extremely well built
He knows what he's doing better than I do 😭😭😭 He used to play Final Fantasy a lot. I'm jealous of his skill.
As for who he's saving for Alrecchino, and I think Dainslef as well. He also doesn't buy any of the wishes, any money he spends is like gift cards from birthdays or Christmas.
Congratulate him for having a stronger will than like 60% of the playerbase. I know I'd probably fold and splurge on a banner (If I wanted the banner 5 \*) with that many wishes saved up.
Any time i get past 200-300 i start pulling on things i don't need but kind of want.
got 18 c0 5stars at this point and probably gonna keep going this way, i prefer to build wide instead of tall since abyss is more about picking the right comps then the strongest character possible.
There are a few 5stars i will never pull since i just can't see myself ever using them, mainly klee and albedo.
I also like building wider instead of taller honestly, but it's because I like to try to play every single thing possible in a game. It's just fun to me idk lol. Lots of characters I wish I had for this reason (i really wanna try mono pyro with Lyney and I'm also gonna try to make a few overload comps with Chevreuse)
That's the main reason I have two accounts till this day (since 1.0). Playing with every character and having a chill time managing my resources (matz and primos) is what keeps me playing, aside from lore.
Probably meant it like, decide if they WANT to try wishing/pulling for a character, not actually using a game mechanic to choose a 5*, just making a decision whether to "choose" to pull for a character.
Heh, are you my kid? I’m also a father. Both my kids play Genshin but my account is by far the strongest.
I’m currently at 400 wishes saved. I will be getting one copy of Raiden (to go from C1 to C2) and I will save the rest for upcoming new characters.
Maybe, not sure. I think he only ever buys Welkins, and how often he does I'm not sure. I know that he's just very responsible with money.
Plus, if he's always spending money on Genshin, how would he ever buy new fishing gear? 🎣
Yeah I only asked cause I had a guild maybe in another game about my age (but no kids) he had a $100 budget for the game and bought that much in bundles at the monthly reset whether there was something he wanted to pull or not. So he also had a staggering stockpile of premium currency some months.
The only money he has spent is when we give him some PS5 gift card money. He does every quest, exploration, etc. and has not wished in MONTHS. I don't even know the last 5* he got, all I know is that he has quite a few and they're well built. The ones I remember he has are Itto, Zhongli, Diluc, Ayaka (I think?), Wanderer, I believe he has Shogun, and more I cannot remember.
Had the same amount of 600+ pulls before Furina and Navia, pulled both at cost of losing 50/50 late into 80+pulls each 5*, pulled Navias weapon too, lost 2 times before guaranteed and got 2 swords at 50+ pulls, now sitting on 200+ pulls, waiting for cloud retainer and other gals. Had that amount with a lot of breaks from game, cuz after getting Yelan I was not interested in anyone from 5*
I have a feeling I’m close to your dad’s age. I just ended up spending all my twenties and half my thirties playing video games before thinking about kids. So now I have a one year old. It’ll be cool to see if he likes video games like me and his dad do, too.
My dad is 49 :) I remember as a kid always jamming to the music from when he played Final Fantasy online and other Final Fantasy games. I watched him spend DAYS on that supposedly super hard dungeon in FF14, and he even gave me his old PS3 when he found out I modded my old one.
I grew up playing video games and it's cool having a dad who likes them too, even if he only really plays MMOs.
I’m this dad too. My kid never wants to play GI but I got a few nephews playing lol. I spent 200+ pulls for Furina. Now saving up for Neuv rerun and Furina cons then saving for the upcoming archons.
Recently got back into the game, finished up Sumeru after taking a long break once it came out...
Now I'm primobroke and I have 2 whole nations to explore and get stuff from!
Right after I speedrun the aranara quests...
Your dad has transcended and realized new characters don't really mean anything since there is barely any challenge. May his enjoyment of the story and mini games be ever lasting.
It’s awesome having parents that are into the things you are into. I’m 24 and my parents are 53f and 57m my dad (rip) was probably one of the og hood weebs and my mom likes stuff too but to lesser extent so it’s cool seeing stuff like this
My daughter is 10 and I can't get her to play this game cus she says it takes too much effort. I'm AR60 and have like 5/6s of the characters. I can't even talk to people my age about this game cus idk anyone as old as me that plays it.
Well all the characters started looking like they were part of some baroque circus. None of them really seem interesting. Too bad, I too have around 300 wishes that accumulated over the years until I stopped playing.
He thinks most of the characters are interesting and likes most of them. He simply doesn't pull for a character unless he's saved for them and thinks they're going to be really good for his team and strong (Playstyle wise)
Oh thank God. My friend sent me this earlier with no context and I thought he'd spent way more money than he had and was worried about his financial situation
Your dad is like me. I also exchange every 1600 primos to fates. Easier to keep track how much I have. Was sitting at 550 wishes, now at 470 after getting Verdict.
I think all of this is just from playing the game. He is very financially responsible :) though I think he buys Welkins very occasionally.
He also gets PS5 gift cards on Bdays/Xmas and uses those for Genshin because he plays no other games.
I was like 24 primo? Then i saw it
So many wishes, I thought they were the primo for a second. Then I saw the actual primos and I did a double take and my mind kinda shat itself
106,904 to be precise
I can barely get my dad to play Mario Kart, your dad is super cool!
He played a LOT of Final Fantasy online and has played almost every Final Fantasy game there is. He knows the grind lifestyle LOL. But yeah, hes pretty neat. But I think Genshin is the only game he plays anymore.
Man I remember being 3 sitting on my dad's lap as he played tf2. I tried showing him genshin but he's not into rpgs or anime artstyles lol
My mind: “why is a 9 year old on Reddit? Tf2 came out in 2007, that’s only like 6 years ago……. Wait………… that’s 16 years ago…….. I am turning into dust”
Remember, 20 years ago wasn't Final Fantasy I, it was the golden age of the PS2. Fellow ancient, we pass together into the void.
I’m only 26 and I’m floating away
Word of advice from a 35yrold gamer: hit the gym. Get a standing desk for work/gaming. Your body will thank you. *shakes fist* slow down and use inverted cross hair controls!
Why inverted though?
Yeahh I don't think I'll be taking that last bit of advice
Kids these days. /s
I grew up I'm a gaming world before they let you change the inversion with menus. Was a poorly worded old people joke.
I mean i did as well, but havent used inverted since the 90s N64 games
Response from a 37-year-old gamer: my archless feet do not thank you for the chairless desk.
May I recommend selling your soul for some Doc Martin's. A soul for a .... *checks notes* sole... I'm sorry. I'll leave now.
i have archless feet as well and my docs are one of my more painful to wear pair of shoes. they look really cool though
What class does he main
Spy
Baller
Engi, when he used to play
I tried showing my dad tf2 once when i was 10. I didnt think he appreciated the death cam where you could see my decapitated head and guts. I was also justifying why i liked the game because i could burn people with a flamethrower. Dont think that helped his perception of the game
My dad doesn’t play anything except candy crush..
“Birds fly, sun shines, grass grows, and brotha I hurt people.”
Ask him what’s his FF14 main
You didn’t ask me whatsoever but I’m telling you anyways. Bard 4 life
Playing gachas —> playing a class that has a random mechanic on its skills. Yep checks out
I hate you for making me realize this. I thought I just liked movin and groovin 😔
You have one purpose: “Give us peloton!” Jokes aside keeping that dots uptime is crazy considering how I can’t even keep up my Higanbana and gets flamed by random df people for it.
Pipeline
Red mage is where it's at, you can annoy people by putting Ver at the start of every word in a sentence
Not the “Think fast chuckle-nut” LB3 flash-bang?
I only just recently got into RDM. For years, I tried and tried and tried but the whole back and forth resource management just wasn’t doing it for me. Turns out, it was just as simple as switching abilities around to be a little more neat and coherent. Now I’m loving it lol. Can’t wait until I have my first backflip death moment and embarrass myself in front of the squad
you can also kill not only just bosses but your entire team with LB3
Ask your dad why he doesn't pull on characters that look like your mom, with mom in the room
Actually one time I randomly asked him which characters he finds most attractive. His reply: "I like Jean because she looks like an actual woman. Most of the characters look like young girls, like teens. Jean looks like an adult, so I think shes the most attractive."
Based dad
Man saw Jean before he saw Lisa.
Unfathomably based father enjoys grown women, instead of children and lolis like most genshin fans
>instead of children and lolis like most genshin fans Can you prove that?
no, that guy just loves to generalize shit based on 0.000001% sample bro saw couple of degens on reddit/twitter and think those are "most" genshin fans
Yeah, that's what probably happened
Awfully defensive, aren't you?... I'm kidding, I truly wish better for humanity than that guy being right. Also there's the generally weird opinion that anyone who finds young characters cute is also a fucking fiddler, when you can generally just think characters like Klee and Nahida are adorable because kids can genuinely be fun to be around. What is 'most'? Is there a specific percentage or a deceiving perception of a vocal minority? I just hate seeing generalizations because they are very surface level regardless of right or wrong.
Yeah bro like I'm pretty sure mommies are the most attractive anyway lol
Over 300k Raiden fans disagree with you
My moms the same, she got me into ff14 and my sister got me into genshin. They’re neat
I am also that Dad except I don’t have the willpower to save my wishes.
Does he gets your wishes too?
He's played on my accoubt before when he's had free time, but after a while I stopped playing in general. He would play the game for me and grind my account when there was nothing to do on his own acc.
your dad mustve played wow before
I've never seen my dad play any other game than Tetris
I was born in the wrong era. I’ll never know the joys of having a sweaty gamer parent
I'm 26 and my grandma used to play Zelda lol. However she would also always ask my brother for help when she got stuck 😅 Hopefully my daughter doesn't mind having a sweaty gamer mom 💀
I was playing Left 4 Dead 2 with my kids and we were all screaming at each other on Discord constantly.
Man that's cool !!!, I've always wanted to play FPS / MMORPG with my families but none of them are interested sadly \*sigh, time to finish L4D and Borderlands on my own
Apparently I should "adopt" you, but our internet connection suuuuuuuucks hard till we get a new line run.
Haha no problem !
Have a gamer grandma too and it was always a good time at her place. She has a lot of hobbies and everyone had a passion she shares. Super cool lady.
My grandma 100% the first skylanders (yes she bought all of them) and Mario galaxy on the Wii before she retired from gaming
I am 34 and i am playing video games since 5 years old. And my son happy to have a "gamer mom".
I’m 38 and my kids (11, 16) are also gamers. My dad was a gamer but can’t play anymore due to his health condition. If he were able to, he would. It’s the one thing he misses the most.
Sad when you're so sick you can't even play games anymore.
We are going to be the sweaty gamer parent
I'm 35 and both my dad and my grandad used to play video games. I remember my grandad used to be so amazed at the graphics and all the mechanics, I remember watching him play the first tomb raider. I wish he'd lived long enough to see VR develop - he would have loved it. I miss him a lot.
I tried to have my Dad play Mario Kart,He rage quit when he didn’t understand.
What era was this? I think more and more people are playing games so younger gamers have a higher chance of having parents who played video games.
Jesus I thought the primos and wishes were swapped for a good minute…
is he saving for skirk 💀💀💀
C6 Dansleif
C6 R5 dains?
Same here. 680 wishes and counting. (Plus c0 harbingers and archons for the collection)
At this point he’s pulling the welkin moon girl
Mommy Aponia
Playable Adult Paimon
When she betrays us in 7.X
Everyone forgot about the unknown god now in 9.4 ?!
She is our new companion in Genshin 2
He’s waiting for John impact
Almost 4 guaranteed 5 stars
Likely 6 because he mentioned he has 85 pity
If he wins, one 50/50, he can C6, any character?
Why are you, using so many, commas?
To emphasize how slowly Im processing it
"If he wins one 50/50... can he c6 any character?" there you go
That, is, a, good, example, however, my, game, is, on, internet, explorer
Arigato Mr. English
> 85 pity hrm.......
Dont take this negativ but does He even know how too wish? Jokes aside for who is He saiving for?
No offense taken! He has a lot of 5 stars, some of them multiple constellations, and has 100 percent every single region in the game. When Fontaine came out he 100 percented exploration within the first week. His characters are also extremely well built He knows what he's doing better than I do 😭😭😭 He used to play Final Fantasy a lot. I'm jealous of his skill. As for who he's saving for Alrecchino, and I think Dainslef as well. He also doesn't buy any of the wishes, any money he spends is like gift cards from birthdays or Christmas.
> saving for Arlecchino Based dad holy
I guess he got over Jean. > Gift Cards Sounds like the family has found a way to feed his addiction without him directly swiping.
True
Congratulate him for having a stronger will than like 60% of the playerbase. I know I'd probably fold and splurge on a banner (If I wanted the banner 5 \*) with that many wishes saved up.

lol at the klee and albedo, my two strongest characters 😭
I do that when I have more than 50 😭
Wait. You can choose who you pull? Sorry I’m kinda a newb. I’m confused
Probably meant it like, decide if they WANT to try wishing/pulling for a character, not actually using a game mechanic to choose a 5*, just making a decision whether to "choose" to pull for a character.
That is stronger then atleast 90 percent of the gacha community as a whole.
He sounds cool. Also good taste in characters.
I’m thinking that your dad might have enough to C6 Arlecchino when she comes out.
That's what he hopes for I think.
>As for who he's saving for Alrecchino Father saving for Father
[удалено]
I was about to comment man’s saving for dainsleif and he really is! Hope he has even more fun than he’s having now!
Wow your dad plays just like me. Exploration, spending, savings…
Heh, are you my kid? I’m also a father. Both my kids play Genshin but my account is by far the strongest. I’m currently at 400 wishes saved. I will be getting one copy of Raiden (to go from C1 to C2) and I will save the rest for upcoming new characters.
Sounds like a millennial father 🤣 How old are you OP, btw?
He's 49, I'm 17 turning 18 in a few months.
Ok I was wrong, he’s Gen X then. Your dad seems cool!
Yea he's pretty neat :)
>As for who he's saving for Alrecchino, Your dad: Dad's together strong
If I had to guess, he's the type that has a month budget for his gacha games?
Maybe, not sure. I think he only ever buys Welkins, and how often he does I'm not sure. I know that he's just very responsible with money. Plus, if he's always spending money on Genshin, how would he ever buy new fishing gear? 🎣
Yeah I only asked cause I had a guild maybe in another game about my age (but no kids) he had a $100 budget for the game and bought that much in bundles at the monthly reset whether there was something he wanted to pull or not. So he also had a staggering stockpile of premium currency some months.
so how much did he spend, there is no way that this is from saving with how much 5*s you said he already has
The only money he has spent is when we give him some PS5 gift card money. He does every quest, exploration, etc. and has not wished in MONTHS. I don't even know the last 5* he got, all I know is that he has quite a few and they're well built. The ones I remember he has are Itto, Zhongli, Diluc, Ayaka (I think?), Wanderer, I believe he has Shogun, and more I cannot remember.
now there's a player that understands the importance of a 401K
Man’s saving for the Heavenly Principles banner.
I was upper 200 before Furina dropped, I'm probably going to hit around 400 before the next Archon because I'm done pulling after Cloud Retainer.
I'm at about 350, gonna take a hit when I get Xiao and his weapon in 4.4. Then back to saving probably for a long time, Varka or Captain likely.
Had that amount with a lot of breaks from game, cuz after getting Yelan I was not interested in anyone from 5*
That's quite a self control there. Kinda xurious He's saving for C6 Tsarita or what?
Alrecchino and Dainself I think.
What does your father do?
He's a blue collar worker. He gets up at 4 am and does manual labor all day and then he comes home, takes a shower and instantly does his dailies. LOL
Trades, I’d assume?
Construction or something I think. I can never remember.
He's your dad - You can probably ask :p
Instill interest in your kid early on, and hopefully, it will stick.
I wish I had this many
I only got 180 wishes 😨
That's still a great haul! Who are you saving for?
Thats like 106k primos wtf
I’m this dad too. My kid never wants to play GI but I got a few nephews playing lol. I spent 200+ pulls for Furina. Now saving up for Neuv rerun and Furina cons then saving for the upcoming archons.
I can see clearly now, the primogems have gone ~
Legend 😂
Holy sh!t that’s a lot, how long has he been saving?
I can see a fellow C6 Shenhe saver
That’s how I play too. I still buy Welkin and BP but I’m pretty conservative with pulls. I have about the same amount saved.
Thats not bad, I'm closing in on 1000 myself. Wish they would put out a character I would roll for but nothing has been interesting to me.
Recently got back into the game, finished up Sumeru after taking a long break once it came out... Now I'm primobroke and I have 2 whole nations to explore and get stuff from! Right after I speedrun the aranara quests...
My dad is 49 as well, but... He isn't like that, at all. I am very jealous of people who can enjoy time with their parents
Jesus…goddamn Christ I need even just 100… (Currently saving for c2 raiden, 9000 primos!)
Can i be your mother?
Oh
Damn, I thought my 300 is a lot
Your dad has transcended and realized new characters don't really mean anything since there is barely any challenge. May his enjoyment of the story and mini games be ever lasting.
Bro saving for chp.2 of genshin 😭🙏
I thought my dad had a lot of wishes saved but holy crap.
yo i added the upvote from 999 to 1.0k lol. feels amazing
That's 60 pulls shy of a guaranteed C3 character
That's maturity with money and not falling for FOMO instead being responsible.
It’s awesome having parents that are into the things you are into. I’m 24 and my parents are 53f and 57m my dad (rip) was probably one of the og hood weebs and my mom likes stuff too but to lesser extent so it’s cool seeing stuff like this
i can only dream of having that many wishes. sheesh
Bro is saving for Paimon, destroyer of galaxies.
He needs just 1 more before screenshotting lol
Is your dad saving for C6 dansleif????
Gosh, my dad is on roughly 40 at the moment. Your dad is next level!
i thought that was like 4 wishes until i took a closer look
Could become an inheritance.
Ia he saving up for Snezhneya or something?
I thought I was patient with my wishes, but your dad absolutely blows me out of the water. What was the last character he wished for?
Damn, I got 330 wishes stacked. But I’m saving them all for the last 2 archons and their weapons.
My daughter is 10 and I can't get her to play this game cus she says it takes too much effort. I'm AR60 and have like 5/6s of the characters. I can't even talk to people my age about this game cus idk anyone as old as me that plays it.
He doesn't want characters, he wants primogems
Well all the characters started looking like they were part of some baroque circus. None of them really seem interesting. Too bad, I too have around 300 wishes that accumulated over the years until I stopped playing.
He thinks most of the characters are interesting and likes most of them. He simply doesn't pull for a character unless he's saved for them and thinks they're going to be really good for his team and strong (Playstyle wise)
I'm glad to announce, you have one of the coolest dads ever!! (My dad told me why are playing a kids game when you’re 25) 🥲
Who’s he saving for?
Alrecchino and Dainslef
That’s like 1,350 USD Edit: yes I did the math is it right I’m like 80 percent sure
Your dad?!?!
Oh thank God. My friend sent me this earlier with no context and I thought he'd spent way more money than he had and was worried about his financial situation
That's some adult money kind of shit
More Importantly,He plays Genshin?
Not me struggling to get 10-
damn look at those wishes 🥴
Your dad seems to be saving for Dainslef
Your dad is like me. I also exchange every 1600 primos to fates. Easier to keep track how much I have. Was sitting at 550 wishes, now at 470 after getting Verdict.
Saving for C6 Dainsleif
Signora main
any way i can get adopted ? your dad is rly cool
Dad: Are ya winning, son? Also dad: Either he hasn't pulled (limited banners) at all or is a Whale.
I hope he left something for Christmas lol
I think all of this is just from playing the game. He is very financially responsible :) though I think he buys Welkins very occasionally. He also gets PS5 gift cards on Bdays/Xmas and uses those for Genshin because he plays no other games.
Your dad has what?
Your dad is SO based
Yeah, rolling for characters is the worst part of the game. Who would even do that?
Spend 2 NOW!
