It made me realize how bad the inquisitous bastard is as an enemy.
I stood still in front of it for at least 30 seconds and the dude couldn't kill my active character off, he just exists to put up a shield and stall if you didn't bring the correct color.
This is the way. I used Zhongli, Waterboy (XQ), Nahida and Kuki.

My life is for the archons and Ei in particular which I finally got C3 on her last banner (basically one C per banner with some luck on the side).
Chev + Ei + Benny + XL decimated first half.
Did it in one go, no retries. I love hyperbloom. Hyperbloom all day every day.
Zhongli shield and burst + Nahida 3 NA + CA combo. Her CA has no ICD and chunks down the shields.
When they spawn, you can run to the 9 o'clock spot in the arena and after about 5 seconds they'll be next to each other.
So Nahida can NA+CA both at the same time when their shields are up.
Similarly, dendro (Nahida) works wonders against the Baptist as well for the electro shield.
Honestly, such a comfy and versatile team.
Sometimes I swap out Zhongli for XL or Thoma for different enemy comps. Throw in Fischl for more electro. Or Yelan as well. Kaz or Venti or Sucrose fit in nicely too with Sucrose being nice comfy driver for consistent swirls.
My Kuki has about 800 EM and uses the thundering fury to help reduce the CD on her skill so I am not starved for healing. Ofc it's not optimal but it works well enough for me.
Istg only the pyro lector is the good one because we have so many good hydro characters and also the pyro lector doesn't have any annoying gimmick. Meanwhile both cryo and hydro heralds being meele just keep running/spinning away and the electro lector saps ur energy.
Just want to add, cryo being able to slow your atk spd especially when using a main Pyro dps and icds makes me wanna die inside when facing cryo heralds especially if there's more than 1.
oh boy, the hydro heralds were the worst. they are released before dendro so their biggest weakness was cryo and we had very few good cryo appliers. yes, ayaka and ganyu were already released but they are a dps so many people who already have another good dps could skip them back then. oh boi, it was a nighmare using a lvl 60 kaeya to kill them. cryo herald and electro lector were both weak to fire which pretty much the meta back then so they weren't really a problem, atleast not as annoying as hydro
It's an element check enemy. I don't mind them unless it's a couple of them of different elements to which they can spam elemental reactions on me. The debuffs they apply are often the worst.
We could really use some shield piercing mechanic in this game, something physical or geo could be good at

The new fatui girls that somehow don't stay quiet for 5 seconds(and I'm pretty sure the cryo one does the spin attack that has super armour if they stay CC'd for a long time just to stop it)
And abyss lectors, i don't like most cryo characters, i hate those shields, and i always get the worst RNG possible and the boss keeps teleporting away after 2 shields
I play on my iPhone and sometimes I have a hard time seeing the fatui girls cause they have a similar color pattern as the abyss. When there’s a bunch of reactions and visual effects going off, I literally can’t see them sometimes. I wish Hoyo would make them a different color for the abyss.
I play on 2k screen on PC and believe me bro... I can't see no shit either when fighting those 2 girls. I specially can't keep track of the cryo girl coz she keeps zapping around here and there all the time.

Double Lectors whooped my ass, I really hate them in the Abyss. It's kinda my fault too since I went in without checking the enemy list.
I 36 starred it using the same team in the past few abyss cycles. It's mainly used Neuvillette hypercarry and Navia hypercarry. Certainly more difficult than the previous one though but barely managed to beat it in time.
Same, 12-2 was ridiculous, can't use Dendro because of Specters, can't use pyro because of whopperflowers, can't use Shield because of the quartet of cucks, so it was a "Well bring Neuvillette or Kazuha, else get fucked"
This one has no gimmicks, you only ever need Pyro and Hydro, which considering every body and their mother has Xingqiu, Bennett and Xiangling built is just a matter of putting any other unit to do a team and claim the easy 36\*.
Due to my unfitting pool of characters it was really hard, actually the hardest one since 3.7 (the only built ousia char is wrio but he's ass to play at c0 and the only well built pyro dps is OPPA) so I had to build tankfei for neuv and put yaoyao there for extra stack and electro dudes

Gaming still slays. But 12-2-2 has to be one of the most annoying chambers ever. Like Constipated Dendro and Electro beasts are lethal af but just one hit of those Lectors messes with your entire rotation and potentially the next chamber.
First half was a bit awkward since I don't really like Coppelia. A lot of teams work but eventually went with aggravate. It was okay but very tedious. Cryo shields were annoying.
Second half was very fun with Lyney vape. The amount of dmg you can frontload on the Baptist dude in third chamber is almost enough to kill him immediately after pyro shield drops.
I finally made it past 11-3! Usually, I'd get stuck at 11-3 and use up all my time there. I'd try those videos where Sevy tells you which 4* units to use, and I would barely scrape on by on floor 11. Recently, a fellow Genshin player came by and helped me out. He helped me choose my teams, taught me the rotation, and it all helped me to get past 11-3. Couldn't do floor 12 as my characters were sitting at +0 artifacts. He said if they were +20, I could have done floor 12.
Congrats! The thing with Sevy is that she’s using well built C6 4* with nice artifacts and she’s amazingly good at dodging, things that a new players might not have or be able to do. I remember being stuck in floor 11 and leveling up my Kaeya because of her showcases, when I had Ayaka and Shenhe sitting right there, unleveled 🫣The most important is to remember the placement strategies and type of element teams she offers in her videos. I hope you’ll manage floor 12 soon!
Ah thanks for the info! The player that helped me said the same thing. I'm not a beginner player, been sitting at AR 60 for over a year now... Just not an Abyss player (cause I never really got it, couldn't make it pass floor 10 too). But after getting the needed help that I needed, I did good. I was shown the different ways of hyperbloom.
Had to repea Chamber 3 second half cause my Neuvi team could not deal with the cryo shield lol, swapped to Aggravate Keqing and she deleted the shields so fast the baptist just stood there and flopped
Nice, Keqing Fischl Nahida trio can deal with any shield combination in general. It tends to be viable even against any lector shields (likely only need grouping vs the electro lectors), where vape/national tends to struggle a bit against the hydro lectors. Baptist is okayge because his hydro shield is a lot weaker than lector's.
I had to try a couple of times before i got to teams that could do it, and using Arle, because i wanted to use Arle.
Ended up with Arle bennet chiori zhongli for the first half and alhaitham nahida XQ and kuki for the second half.
12-3-2 was not fun, dealing with the cryo shield with only kuki's electro application was not fun, but I managed to do it first try, since my first half was really fast.
Used Yelan, Aloy, Jean and Furina First half and Arle, Kazuha bennet Xinqui second. Hat to reset a bunch on the second floor, but it worked out in the end
I was a bit bored with the old enemy set up they had going on, oh do I regret my words, this Abyss is a challenge, I guess all I can do is succumb and become meta´s slave, time to go upgrade my Arlecchino if I want those last 3 stars.

Spent hours of experimentation on this, and I hurt two of my fingers when I slammed my desk out of frustration. Never thought I'd rely on Hu tao to 36 star a spiral abyss cycle.
34 stars, and I just don’t see it getting better. First time in a while I won’t 36 star the abyss. I don’t have good Cryo and Pyro, and of course the abyss is littered with enemies requiring both. Enemies that require one type of element to beat are the biggest bullshit in this game. I haven’t been so pissed off at this game in a while.
Same, got 34 (3-2-2). There’s no pyro character in the game right now that I like, so I just completed it with my usual Tighnari and Neuv teams and called it a day. I refuse to build Bennett or XL and if MHY wants to bait me into rolling Arle, they can fuck right off.
Coppelius' shield gets instantly broken by neuma attacks, and the iniquitous baptist has a fire, cryo, and electro shield so a vape team should break it pretty quickly. If you build your teams around those requirements it shouldn't be too bad, the multiwaves on 12-2-2 might need you to consider positioning depending on your team tho
It was super weird and had to retry like 8 times. I mistook how many waves there would be and then started saving ults only for there to be more of them. Happened on two floors. And then the Lectors... Grouped them poorly twice, before finally doing it properly. Team composition was also a bit suspect as I was running low on energy.
34 stars. But the Baptist kicked my ass quite a bit and the Dancer didn't help since I don't have anything in particular that's great against Cryo shields.
Originally brought my Neuvilette team for Floor 12 second half, did virtually nothing to the Lector and Baptist shield.
Tried experimenting for a bit with different teammates for Neuvilette, including swapping my first half Arlecchino into second half, but turns out my Alhaitham Hyperbloom teams did the job good enough while keeping Arlecchino in first half.
Had to try several different teams for each chamber just to get 36 Stars. Chamber 2 was probably the hardest. Beating the boss in phase 1 was pretty easy but they could do the same to me and even with more than 2 minutes left to clear phase 2, my Ayaka Freeze barely beat the Lectors in time with 2 seconds left cause of their shield. Chamber 3 was probably the easiest since phase 1 was all AOE/Crowd Control centric and the Inquituous Baptist's shields were easy to destroy.
Any time I see the damn lector I just run a burgeon team and it works like a charm. All the elements on the team negate his shields and do a ton of damage as well
Not bad, much easier than last time since i remembered coppelius gets fodderized by furina, so my eula/raiden furina team made short work of it. Ran arlecchino/yelan/kazuha/bennett on the other side and it also was pretty painless since my artifacts are not relatable and i could just kill things before they hit me too much
I forgot how to use Furina’s ousia attack and was struggle bussing on first half 😂
Also got so used to playing Neuvillette national team feels like torture now
I just used neuvilette and arlecchino and it was pretty easy, the most annoying thing is having both aoe and ST in both chambers, but i prefer this abyss than wenut or serpent abysses

I cleared first half with Lyney-Furina-Bennett-Lynette, seeing Lyney shredding Coppelia's husband was so satisfying, as well as the genkis, then Hu Tao-Yelan-Albedo-Zhongli second half, that team is literally good in any abyss I cant
36 stared on mobile cause I'm away from my house, and let me tell you, I really struggle with playing on mobile. The open world is sometimes hard for me so I'm surprised I managed to pull it off
With the release of Arlecchino, my Itto team now gets a break from Abyss for the first time since about 2.4.
I ran zhongli, furina, baizhu, neuvi on first half. Second half was arlecchino, kazuha,yelan, bennett.
I didnt put much thought into putting zhongli on first half, normally i have kazuha there but was running him with arle. And neither side needed zhongli’s interupt res, mainly used him for the elemental res shred on his skill
And that was very comfy, and quick, 36 star first clear. Nice and clean :)

First attempt 34 stars. Surprised on how fast Arle was melting everything but the Abyss guys screwed me over because their shields took ages to take down.
1st half : Neuv, Furina, Baizhu, Dehya
2nd half : Arle, Nahida, Zhongli, Yelan
Pretty easy. Nahida was very crucial for 2nd half with all those electro shield.
And not gonna lie, burgeon Arle is bonkers.
Chamber 2 most annoying. I just took down Coppelius shield and he already got it back again. Luckily they don't have much hp. Double electro Lectors also annoying. Took me a few times until I figured out how to group them.
First try with 34 stars. Neuv 1st half and Alhaitham hyperbloom 2nd half. The Cryo shield on the dancing robot cooked my time since Neuv was the only one doing damage.
The pyro buff for this abyss is really strong. I had pyro on both sides of the abyss, and even though I completely messed up my rotations, I still got 36\* first try.
First time I had to change my team for a chamber since 3.6. Got the full star clear in the end but I found this abyss much more annoying than many of the past ones. Could also be bc of me playing on a tiny laptop with worse specs than my desktop pc and with higher ping.

I liked abyss this time coz it is skill check this time instead of dps check like last times. Earlier enemies had millions of hp and repeated gameplay. This times it's low hp high DMG characters which needs specific elements to defeat.
Struggling, I’m happy with my main carries (Raiden and Arle) but they share so many teammates that I’m struggling to make two teams. They both want Kazuha, they both want bennett, they both want chev(if I had her). Both good with xl, both good with XQ. It’s rough out here.

As usual, i didnt play it. The chances of me finishing 12-3 (finishing mind you, not 3 starring), are near zero at this point. I feel its getting harder each time. I wonder how new players are doing this without whaling.
First half: Neuvilette, Kazuha, Xianling and Bennet.
Second half: Nahida, Xinqiu, Yelan and Kuki.
It was a fun abyss. Xianling and Bennet with Kazuha swirling pyro was more than enough to take care of that shield of Coppelius. The vapes on Neuvilette were extra spicy with this team.
Nahida hyperbloom is fun and easy to play, and yet, so so strong. Didn't even need the abyssal blessing because the damage output of this team is too high.

I'm already pretty familiar with all the enemies.
I also cleared it twice. First was with neuv, but he's ez mode so it doesn't really feel earned.
Rough. Really rough. I managed to 36 star it but only after like 15 tries.
I have the raw damage to clear it no problem. Beat 12-1 on the first try with 3 stars. And 12-1 has by far the most total hp out of all the floors. It’s like a combined 8 million or something like that while all the others have 5 million combined or less. It’s the gimmicks and elemental application that were the problem.
Pyro application being borderline necessary on both sides FUCKING SUCKS. I only have one good pyro team, and it has to use either Arlecchino or Hu Tao as the carry. I can’t do them on different sides bc I don’t have the necessary supports for 2 full pyro teams. That’s on me not on the game, but still.
So I ended up using Arlecchino, Yelan, Venti, and Bennett on top half. And Alhaitham, Xingqiu, Shinobu, Nahida on bottom half. I wanted to do it backwards and save Arlecchino for Iniquitous baptist, but I had to swap my teams over to the opposite side so my dendro team could deal with the electro lecters. Which made floor 1 much harder imo.
As a side note, venti + arlecchino works amazingly against groups of moveable enemies. Perfect grouping. Got me through floors 9-11 in a flash. And even in floor 12 this is insanely useful. Plus the additional energy from his infused burst helps against bosses who don’t drop as much energy. I could have used sucrose for better vape damage but Venti offers convenience and my arlecchino doesn’t really need more damage.
You pretty much NEED a pyro on top half. Because copellius is completely invulnerable while his cryo shield is up. And unfortunately I don’t have any good built electro main dps characters to drop his shield with my hyperbloom team. I have a Keqing decently built, but nowhere near as strong as my Alhaitham, so she would have had a ton of trouble clearing other chambers.
The electro lecters probably took me the longest time. The sheer amount of elemental application needed to destroy their electro shields is frustrating af. Especially since they don’t stay grouped. And them stealing a ton of your energy on hit means you can’t use your burst for additional application. And most enemies you can dodge fairly easily, but with 2 electro lecters at once, they will wear down your stamina super fast and then steal energy when you can’t dodge anymore. Had to reset a good few times to get enough rapid application with my nahida alhaitham team. Which is insane.
Then floor 3 was surprisingly no problem. As soon as I 3-starred the second floor, I managed to do the 3rd floor in just 2 tries. The first one was a dud bc my support bennett died and I had to reset. But after that it was no problem. And thankfully my hyperbloom team was able to output a ridiculous amount of damage, because iniquitous baptist’s cryo shield was a pain to deal with, as Shinobu was the only character who could damage his shield on the team and her electro application is slow.
I wouldn’t say Pyro is necessary on the top half. I used Navia, Furina, Xianyun, & Ningguang. Then Arle, Yelan, Bennett, & Layla on the bottom half.
2nd chamber was difficult with the lectors, though. That’s where I stalled. 12-1 & 12-3 were easy. I missed one star on 12-2. Even switched teams, but Arle wasn’t as good against the dancers (Furina’s Ousia NA disables their shield with one hit). I finally just used Alhaitham hyperbloom (with Raiden, Koko, Nahida) on the 2nd half to get rid of the lectors & get the last star. Went back afterward with my original teams & was able to 36 star with them as well on that next run.
Ez, except for the last chamber (skill issue). Though I still had 1 min remaining when I got it right, it took plenty of restarts to get there. I used Arle (c1r1), Benny, Yelan, Zhongli for the first half, and Neuv (also c1r1), Fischl, Mona, Kazuha for the second.
I have to change my team twice since I didn't realize there were lectors on 12-2-2 and the same with Coppelious I didn't realize it was the version with the cryo shield so my Neuvilette/Nahida/Layla/Kazuha just stared at it.
After that I cleared it but its still was one of those abyss they do to stall time with all the multiple waves and shields. Which is annoying.
this was the first time i ever played with an ayaka melt and neuvi/furina combo. still had to mess around to find the best rotations myself though, but it worked out.(and costed me some sleep, i barely slept 4 hours today bcs of this and some other projects related to my studies)

36 starred on second or third try. The electro lector pair is obnoxious af as nearly all lectors are but good thing it isn't with another lector of another element or a herald. The 3.7 hydro lector + cryo herald combination was the most frustrated I've ever been in the Spiral Abyss.
Easiest one by a large margin since Fontaine started.

First try no stress, which is a nice change of pace from the last abyss, that 12-2 was the unholiest shit I've ever seen on Genshin.

Somehow managed to max star it with these teams after a lot of tryhard. 2nd floor first half where spinning dancers boss is gave me most trouble. Arlecchino getting decimated because i can't dodge shit, and she's getting interrupted so much... but it was fun. I couldn't break ice shield on 3rd floor 2nd half so i just waited until boss ended it haha, still managed to make it in time somehow.
Definitely a lot more challenging than previous iterations from 4.X, but it was also the most fun. I generally use Raiden National and some Wanderer hypercarry variation, but this time around with Arlecchino, I had the chance to try something new.
I don't quite know what elements to bring. I put Arle on first half and Alhaitham on second because dendro is good at breaking hydro shields. But then the baptist guy didn't put a hydro shield up.
Plus, I cant help but feel his shields functions differently from last time. Instead of 3 shields in a row before a decently long down time. The sields were one at a time with significantly shorter downtime between each. Though, I don't 100% remember what he was like last time. Guy's still a pushover though so it's fine.
I had no problem with the bosses or heralds but god damn the two bond of life fatui are so tanky. I couldn’t kill them in time with my best alhaitham hyperbloom team
Went Neuvi team first half, and Alhaitham team second. Missed 1 star in floor 2 because I forgot Coppelius puts up an ice shield, so I wasted too much time waiting for it to go down. I'll have to bring some other team to clear it.
Was able to use Gaming on one side of 12 and that made me really happy. Though, I did only 8 star on my first because I lost my third star on Chamber 2 by literally one second... Altered my parties a bit because I just wasn't breaking the first half shield all that quickly. Furina on the wrong side. Lol
i kinda gave up on doing the abyss if i dont summon for the characters for that patch. my artifact luck is too terrible, none of my characters ever have above 200 CD and i'm always missing one of the characters you need for every team. i wish there was something else to do in this game 😭

So I was completing my spiral abyss in the last 20 mins before it resets. The moment i completed floor 12 the floor got reset and i couldn't claim any of my primos.
Is there any hope that the support will help me?
I did it easily but I invested basically all my inazuma/fontaine primogems for Neuvillette and Wrio C6 (I didn't forget sumeru. I actually rolled for few characters there. Something I really didn't do for inazuma and Fontaine so I had many rolls)

The abyss is actually... More annoying than hard overall. You gotta need to bring comps to take down shields which is kinda annoying. If you have a good pool (in terms of different element) of built characters you should be fine. In this abyss feels like what really matter isn't even the stats you have on your artefact but how many character with different elements you have built.
Note: I had to use the sword that apply ousia to take down Coppellius shield. I gave it to Kazuha.
I had fun with off-meta teams. First half i had a burn team. And second half i had a unbuffed Ayato-team, with Ganyu burst support, venti for CC, and Thoma to deal with the ice shield on last boss. But I 36 stared it anyway.
First part with alre mono Pyro (and zhongli so I don't get one shot) and hyperbloom in the second part, did it first try!
I genuinely thought I wouldn't get full stars at floor 2 since there were a lot of waves and I cleared it at the last second, it worked though!
Abyss lectors suck. Got 35 stars on my first run-through.
The Baptist melted like butter against my Arle team (Yelan, Bennett, Layla), but I had to try several times against those lectors on 12-2-2. And even switched teams, trying my Navia, Furina, Xianyun team (though Arle on first half didn’t seem to do as well; having Furina break the shield on the dancers made them easy). Finally gave up & used Alhaitham hyperbloom against the lectors to get the last star.
*Then* I went back just for the hell of it to try to full clear with my Arle team & did it that next run. Maybe I was less stressed cuz I had already 36 starred, I don’t know. But it seemed easier that last time.
Ik what you mean and I felt the same too but then I just thought fuck it and tried Raiden National in the first half and Neuvi (with dehya in team instead of zhong). With these teams it suddenly felt easier again. (Raiden National for some reason ripped through the first half)
(and the having fun part yea.. I really did have more fun this time around, even when trying out different teams and all)
36 stars after 100+ attempts. 6 different teams, though mostly dendro/eleectro with XQ or Furina, and Bennett thrown in for 12-3-2. I should build a proper pyro DPS team
Same teams as always since almost a year now. Just brute force smashing aside whatever shenanigans Hoyo expects us to do in the current cycle.
Except I misjudged in which order to use them and actually had to finish in 16 battles (got 3/3/2 at first attempt) rather than 12.

Surprisingly easy, 36 stars in 1 run, not a single restart, I usually run the 12th flor 2 times with different teams and several restarts to 36 star it
Considering I was smart enough to bring countermeasures for those annoying Abyss bastards, pretty damn easy. But I can see 12-2 being one of the most hated chambers in Genshin history...
I do admittedly have quite a few characters so I certainly have an easier time than most people. But I did really like this abyss. Used arle XQ beidou fischl first half and international second half. Did die a couple times but it was just skill issue. Baptist can be annoying but it’s a lot better than last time it was in abyss. I also just always love whenever triple kenki is in abyss. Also both the harbingers tend to be very fun to play when they’re good
Found 12-2 to be harder/tighter than 12-3, had completely forgotten Ousia could break Coppelius' shield. Also that they had 90% anemo res for some reason.

Neuvi, diona, Xingqiu (for resonance, I don't have furina yet) and Xiangling (normally Kazuha, but needed to get rid of shields in 3.2, was pleasantly surprised how well she performed in that team).

For first clear I used some fairly stacked teams, am already thinking of some weirder stuff to use on the 16th and next month. I WILL use Klee to clear this abyss at least once before 4.7 drops out of spite for this rotation shutting down Ayaka on both sides...
I only have 2.5 teams. Neuve Hyper Carry, Nahida Hyperbloom, and a scuffed Navia plunge team with Bennet and... XL.
Can't even beat the 1st chamber because someone gets oneshotted on the B side.
Easy. Nothing changed. Still a one run no retry abyss. I did get caught off guard by the flying robots because I went full melee, but that's it.
I use Neuvi-Furina and Hutao double Hydro. I still don't have nahida or any dendro characters unfortunately.
Funny enough, hardest floor for me was 12-1. I managed to full star 12-2 and 12-3 in one go, but had to reset 5 times for 12-1. Mostly it was due to chamber 2, I just hate enemies that comes in waves.

First tried everything because im a Pyro main but I did have to reset on the Baptist once because I was being too free with my dehya dps cds before the cryo shield. Big oopsies.
Easy to do with "meta teams", but hard to have fun eith due to all these shields and number of waves. You need to answer too many problems at once. Enemies that steal your ult charge aren't fun either.

As usual no retry what I like to say but I have to retry 2 times cuz my c0 Neuvi always get blown away in phase 2 w/o shield ofc (my Zhongli in phase 1 with Hu Tao). I forgot to use my built Dehya with Neuvi. I can't bear clearing abyss without my XL. It's either XL or Dehya and I picked XL. Welp, next abyss reset it's Dehya turn. More comfort for my Hydro dragon this way.
A breeze, 36* first run. It's just an element/team building check but people want to try and brute force it anyway. Arle/Yae/Beidou/Chevy first half, Klee/Furina/Kazu/Baizhu second half.
It made me realize how bad the inquisitous bastard is as an enemy. I stood still in front of it for at least 30 seconds and the dude couldn't kill my active character off, he just exists to put up a shield and stall if you didn't bring the correct color.

He does hit hard with long charge attacks if you don't break the shields fast enough. Basically one-shotted one of my characters because I'm a idiot.
Hyperbloom deletes him pretty quick.
This is the way. I used Zhongli, Waterboy (XQ), Nahida and Kuki. (Day 1 rare BP enjoyer) With really suboptimal artifacts he goes down pretty quick. My life is for the archons and Ei in particular which I finally got C3 on her last banner (basically one C per banner with some luck on the side). Chev + Ei + Benny + XL decimated first half. Did it in one go, no retries. I love hyperbloom. Hyperbloom all day every day.
How'd u manage against the electro lectors in chamber2 2nd half
Zhongli shield and burst + Nahida 3 NA + CA combo. Her CA has no ICD and chunks down the shields. When they spawn, you can run to the 9 o'clock spot in the arena and after about 5 seconds they'll be next to each other. So Nahida can NA+CA both at the same time when their shields are up. Similarly, dendro (Nahida) works wonders against the Baptist as well for the electro shield. Honestly, such a comfy and versatile team. Sometimes I swap out Zhongli for XL or Thoma for different enemy comps. Throw in Fischl for more electro. Or Yelan as well. Kaz or Venti or Sucrose fit in nicely too with Sucrose being nice comfy driver for consistent swirls. My Kuki has about 800 EM and uses the thundering fury to help reduce the CD on her skill so I am not starved for healing. Ofc it's not optimal but it works well enough for me.
I got reminded again why I hate both lectors and heralds especially when they're in pairs.
Istg only the pyro lector is the good one because we have so many good hydro characters and also the pyro lector doesn't have any annoying gimmick. Meanwhile both cryo and hydro heralds being meele just keep running/spinning away and the electro lector saps ur energy.
Just want to add, cryo being able to slow your atk spd especially when using a main Pyro dps and icds makes me wanna die inside when facing cryo heralds especially if there's more than 1.

oh boy, the hydro heralds were the worst. they are released before dendro so their biggest weakness was cryo and we had very few good cryo appliers. yes, ayaka and ganyu were already released but they are a dps so many people who already have another good dps could skip them back then. oh boi, it was a nighmare using a lvl 60 kaeya to kill them. cryo herald and electro lector were both weak to fire which pretty much the meta back then so they weren't really a problem, atleast not as annoying as hydro

It's an element check enemy. I don't mind them unless it's a couple of them of different elements to which they can spam elemental reactions on me. The debuffs they apply are often the worst. We could really use some shield piercing mechanic in this game, something physical or geo could be good at
I got 33 stars. I now find I despise abyss lectors of any variant. I don’t know why I couldn’t do it, but it’s just 50 primos, it’s not a huge deal.

Same This abyss has everything i hate the most The new fatui girls that somehow don't stay quiet for 5 seconds(and I'm pretty sure the cryo one does the spin attack that has super armour if they stay CC'd for a long time just to stop it) And abyss lectors, i don't like most cryo characters, i hate those shields, and i always get the worst RNG possible and the boss keeps teleporting away after 2 shields
The fatui girl can kick rocks why're they so tanky and the last wave literally making it annoying as all hell to beat them.
I play on my iPhone and sometimes I have a hard time seeing the fatui girls cause they have a similar color pattern as the abyss. When there’s a bunch of reactions and visual effects going off, I literally can’t see them sometimes. I wish Hoyo would make them a different color for the abyss.
I play on 2k screen on PC and believe me bro... I can't see no shit either when fighting those 2 girls. I specially can't keep track of the cryo girl coz she keeps zapping around here and there all the time.

I 36 starred it using the same team in the past few abyss cycles. It's mainly used Neuvillette hypercarry and Navia hypercarry. Certainly more difficult than the previous one though but barely managed to beat it in time.

Same, 12-2 was ridiculous, can't use Dendro because of Specters, can't use pyro because of whopperflowers, can't use Shield because of the quartet of cucks, so it was a "Well bring Neuvillette or Kazuha, else get fucked" This one has no gimmicks, you only ever need Pyro and Hydro, which considering every body and their mother has Xingqiu, Bennett and Xiangling built is just a matter of putting any other unit to do a team and claim the easy 36\*.
Due to my unfitting pool of characters it was really hard, actually the hardest one since 3.7 (the only built ousia char is wrio but he's ass to play at c0 and the only well built pyro dps is OPPA) so I had to build tankfei for neuv and put yaoyao there for extra stack and electro dudes

First half was a bit awkward since I don't really like Coppelia. A lot of teams work but eventually went with aggravate. It was okay but very tedious. Cryo shields were annoying. Second half was very fun with Lyney vape. The amount of dmg you can frontload on the Baptist dude in third chamber is almost enough to kill him immediately after pyro shield drops.
Ousia attacks instantly break his cryo shield. 1 NA from Furina in dps gang mode.
Took me around 50 tries to get 36 stars. The second chamber took the longest time to get 3 stars
I finally made it past 11-3! Usually, I'd get stuck at 11-3 and use up all my time there. I'd try those videos where Sevy tells you which 4* units to use, and I would barely scrape on by on floor 11. Recently, a fellow Genshin player came by and helped me out. He helped me choose my teams, taught me the rotation, and it all helped me to get past 11-3. Couldn't do floor 12 as my characters were sitting at +0 artifacts. He said if they were +20, I could have done floor 12.
Congrats! The thing with Sevy is that she’s using well built C6 4* with nice artifacts and she’s amazingly good at dodging, things that a new players might not have or be able to do. I remember being stuck in floor 11 and leveling up my Kaeya because of her showcases, when I had Ayaka and Shenhe sitting right there, unleveled 🫣The most important is to remember the placement strategies and type of element teams she offers in her videos. I hope you’ll manage floor 12 soon!
Ah thanks for the info! The player that helped me said the same thing. I'm not a beginner player, been sitting at AR 60 for over a year now... Just not an Abyss player (cause I never really got it, couldn't make it pass floor 10 too). But after getting the needed help that I needed, I did good. I was shown the different ways of hyperbloom.
Had to repea Chamber 3 second half cause my Neuvi team could not deal with the cryo shield lol, swapped to Aggravate Keqing and she deleted the shields so fast the baptist just stood there and flopped
Nice, Keqing Fischl Nahida trio can deal with any shield combination in general. It tends to be viable even against any lector shields (likely only need grouping vs the electro lectors), where vape/national tends to struggle a bit against the hydro lectors. Baptist is okayge because his hydro shield is a lot weaker than lector's.
Would have 9 star first try if it wasn't for chamber 2. Arlecchino with no shielder against those stupid robots.
I had to try a couple of times before i got to teams that could do it, and using Arle, because i wanted to use Arle. Ended up with Arle bennet chiori zhongli for the first half and alhaitham nahida XQ and kuki for the second half. 12-3-2 was not fun, dealing with the cryo shield with only kuki's electro application was not fun, but I managed to do it first try, since my first half was really fast.

34 stars, and I just don’t see it getting better. First time in a while I won’t 36 star the abyss. I don’t have good Cryo and Pyro, and of course the abyss is littered with enemies requiring both. Enemies that require one type of element to beat are the biggest bullshit in this game. I haven’t been so pissed off at this game in a while.
Same, got 34 (3-2-2). There’s no pyro character in the game right now that I like, so I just completed it with my usual Tighnari and Neuv teams and called it a day. I refuse to build Bennett or XL and if MHY wants to bait me into rolling Arle, they can fuck right off.

Coppelius' shield gets instantly broken by neuma attacks, and the iniquitous baptist has a fire, cryo, and electro shield so a vape team should break it pretty quickly. If you build your teams around those requirements it shouldn't be too bad, the multiwaves on 12-2-2 might need you to consider positioning depending on your team tho
It was super weird and had to retry like 8 times. I mistook how many waves there would be and then started saving ults only for there to be more of them. Happened on two floors. And then the Lectors... Grouped them poorly twice, before finally doing it properly. Team composition was also a bit suspect as I was running low on energy.

Bring anemo grouping to 12-1-2. 12-2-1 ousia breaks cryo shield instantly 12-2-2 C6 Bennett wrecks electro lector's shield. National works great.

34 stars. But the Baptist kicked my ass quite a bit and the Dancer didn't help since I don't have anything in particular that's great against Cryo shields.
Originally brought my Neuvilette team for Floor 12 second half, did virtually nothing to the Lector and Baptist shield. Tried experimenting for a bit with different teammates for Neuvilette, including swapping my first half Arlecchino into second half, but turns out my Alhaitham Hyperbloom teams did the job good enough while keeping Arlecchino in first half.
I failed at first try. Changed some characters and rotation and I was able to made it with 24 seconds left.
I keep forgetting how much I hate Abyss Lectors.
Had to try several different teams for each chamber just to get 36 Stars. Chamber 2 was probably the hardest. Beating the boss in phase 1 was pretty easy but they could do the same to me and even with more than 2 minutes left to clear phase 2, my Ayaka Freeze barely beat the Lectors in time with 2 seconds left cause of their shield. Chamber 3 was probably the easiest since phase 1 was all AOE/Crowd Control centric and the Inquituous Baptist's shields were easy to destroy.

Any time I see the damn lector I just run a burgeon team and it works like a charm. All the elements on the team negate his shields and do a ton of damage as well
Not bad, much easier than last time since i remembered coppelius gets fodderized by furina, so my eula/raiden furina team made short work of it. Ran arlecchino/yelan/kazuha/bennett on the other side and it also was pretty painless since my artifacts are not relatable and i could just kill things before they hit me too much
I get 9 stars easily up to 11-3, then I've never been able to SURVIVE 12-1, let alone clear or get a single star.

I just used neuvilette and arlecchino and it was pretty easy, the most annoying thing is having both aoe and ST in both chambers, but i prefer this abyss than wenut or serpent abysses

Arle mono pyro first half Hu Tao double hydro + Layla second half It was a fun abyss and I had plenty of time to spare for 36\*. The blessing helped out a lot. 30% res shred at all times for free is no joke
I cleared first half with Lyney-Furina-Bennett-Lynette, seeing Lyney shredding Coppelia's husband was so satisfying, as well as the genkis, then Hu Tao-Yelan-Albedo-Zhongli second half, that team is literally good in any abyss I cant
36 stared on mobile cause I'm away from my house, and let me tell you, I really struggle with playing on mobile. The open world is sometimes hard for me so I'm surprised I managed to pull it off
With the release of Arlecchino, my Itto team now gets a break from Abyss for the first time since about 2.4. I ran zhongli, furina, baizhu, neuvi on first half. Second half was arlecchino, kazuha,yelan, bennett. I didnt put much thought into putting zhongli on first half, normally i have kazuha there but was running him with arle. And neither side needed zhongli’s interupt res, mainly used him for the elemental res shred on his skill And that was very comfy, and quick, 36 star first clear. Nice and clean :) Itto my boy, you may now take a rest <3

I pulled Xianyun also on this account especially for that purpose and never used it in fact. Result, I simply did one rotation against the 3 Kenki and didn't expect that xD
First attempt 34 stars. Surprised on how fast Arle was melting everything but the Abyss guys screwed me over because their shields took ages to take down.
1st half : Neuv, Furina, Baizhu, Dehya 2nd half : Arle, Nahida, Zhongli, Yelan Pretty easy. Nahida was very crucial for 2nd half with all those electro shield. And not gonna lie, burgeon Arle is bonkers.

Chamber 2 most annoying. I just took down Coppelius shield and he already got it back again. Luckily they don't have much hp. Double electro Lectors also annoying. Took me a few times until I figured out how to group them.

The pyro buff for this abyss is really strong. I had pyro on both sides of the abyss, and even though I completely messed up my rotations, I still got 36\* first try.
Its okay, my eula still can clear it so im happy. Elemental shields sucks tho
First time I had to change my team for a chamber since 3.6. Got the full star clear in the end but I found this abyss much more annoying than many of the past ones. Could also be bc of me playing on a tiny laptop with worse specs than my desktop pc and with higher ping.

36. I liked abyss this time coz it is skill check this time instead of dps check like last times. Earlier enemies had millions of hp and repeated gameplay. This times it's low hp high DMG characters which needs specific elements to defeat.
I tried a lot with arle team in 1st half, but couldn't make it happen. After that I put arle in 2nd half and 9 star first try.
Struggling, I’m happy with my main carries (Raiden and Arle) but they share so many teammates that I’m struggling to make two teams. They both want Kazuha, they both want bennett, they both want chev(if I had her). Both good with xl, both good with XQ. It’s rough out here.

As usual, i didnt play it. The chances of me finishing 12-3 (finishing mind you, not 3 starring), are near zero at this point. I feel its getting harder each time. I wonder how new players are doing this without whaling.
First half: Neuvilette, Kazuha, Xianling and Bennet. Second half: Nahida, Xinqiu, Yelan and Kuki. It was a fun abyss. Xianling and Bennet with Kazuha swirling pyro was more than enough to take care of that shield of Coppelius. The vapes on Neuvilette were extra spicy with this team. Nahida hyperbloom is fun and easy to play, and yet, so so strong. Didn't even need the abyssal blessing because the damage output of this team is too high.
Pretty tough! I was able to get 36* with my level 79 C1 Arlecchino with 6/2/2 talents and 2pc/2pc! Hu Tao, Furina, Xianyun carried the first half.

34\* Those damn Abyss Lectors and Mirror Maidens make me mald.
Rough. Really rough. I managed to 36 star it but only after like 15 tries. I have the raw damage to clear it no problem. Beat 12-1 on the first try with 3 stars. And 12-1 has by far the most total hp out of all the floors. It’s like a combined 8 million or something like that while all the others have 5 million combined or less. It’s the gimmicks and elemental application that were the problem. Pyro application being borderline necessary on both sides FUCKING SUCKS. I only have one good pyro team, and it has to use either Arlecchino or Hu Tao as the carry. I can’t do them on different sides bc I don’t have the necessary supports for 2 full pyro teams. That’s on me not on the game, but still. So I ended up using Arlecchino, Yelan, Venti, and Bennett on top half. And Alhaitham, Xingqiu, Shinobu, Nahida on bottom half. I wanted to do it backwards and save Arlecchino for Iniquitous baptist, but I had to swap my teams over to the opposite side so my dendro team could deal with the electro lecters. Which made floor 1 much harder imo. As a side note, venti + arlecchino works amazingly against groups of moveable enemies. Perfect grouping. Got me through floors 9-11 in a flash. And even in floor 12 this is insanely useful. Plus the additional energy from his infused burst helps against bosses who don’t drop as much energy. I could have used sucrose for better vape damage but Venti offers convenience and my arlecchino doesn’t really need more damage. You pretty much NEED a pyro on top half. Because copellius is completely invulnerable while his cryo shield is up. And unfortunately I don’t have any good built electro main dps characters to drop his shield with my hyperbloom team. I have a Keqing decently built, but nowhere near as strong as my Alhaitham, so she would have had a ton of trouble clearing other chambers. The electro lecters probably took me the longest time. The sheer amount of elemental application needed to destroy their electro shields is frustrating af. Especially since they don’t stay grouped. And them stealing a ton of your energy on hit means you can’t use your burst for additional application. And most enemies you can dodge fairly easily, but with 2 electro lecters at once, they will wear down your stamina super fast and then steal energy when you can’t dodge anymore. Had to reset a good few times to get enough rapid application with my nahida alhaitham team. Which is insane. Then floor 3 was surprisingly no problem. As soon as I 3-starred the second floor, I managed to do the 3rd floor in just 2 tries. The first one was a dud bc my support bennett died and I had to reset. But after that it was no problem. And thankfully my hyperbloom team was able to output a ridiculous amount of damage, because iniquitous baptist’s cryo shield was a pain to deal with, as Shinobu was the only character who could damage his shield on the team and her electro application is slow.
I wouldn’t say Pyro is necessary on the top half. I used Navia, Furina, Xianyun, & Ningguang. Then Arle, Yelan, Bennett, & Layla on the bottom half. 2nd chamber was difficult with the lectors, though. That’s where I stalled. 12-1 & 12-3 were easy. I missed one star on 12-2. Even switched teams, but Arle wasn’t as good against the dancers (Furina’s Ousia NA disables their shield with one hit). I finally just used Alhaitham hyperbloom (with Raiden, Koko, Nahida) on the 2nd half to get rid of the lectors & get the last star. Went back afterward with my original teams & was able to 36 star with them as well on that next run.
Ez, except for the last chamber (skill issue). Though I still had 1 min remaining when I got it right, it took plenty of restarts to get there. I used Arle (c1r1), Benny, Yelan, Zhongli for the first half, and Neuv (also c1r1), Fischl, Mona, Kazuha for the second.
I have to change my team twice since I didn't realize there were lectors on 12-2-2 and the same with Coppelious I didn't realize it was the version with the cryo shield so my Neuvilette/Nahida/Layla/Kazuha just stared at it. After that I cleared it but its still was one of those abyss they do to stall time with all the multiple waves and shields. Which is annoying.
this was the first time i ever played with an ayaka melt and neuvi/furina combo. still had to mess around to find the best rotations myself though, but it worked out.(and costed me some sleep, i barely slept 4 hours today bcs of this and some other projects related to my studies)

surprisingly enjoyable
36 starred on second or third try. The electro lector pair is obnoxious af as nearly all lectors are but good thing it isn't with another lector of another element or a herald. The 3.7 hydro lector + cryo herald combination was the most frustrated I've ever been in the Spiral Abyss.
Easiest one by a large margin since Fontaine started. Raiden + Xiangling + Bennet + Yelan on A Hu Tao + Furina + Xianyun + Xingqiu on B First try no stress, which is a nice change of pace from the last abyss, that 12-2 was the unholiest shit I've ever seen on Genshin.
First half: Arlecchino Xinqui Kazuha Bennet Second Half: Raiden (em) Neuvillete Barbara Nahida Somehow managed to max star it with these teams after a lot of tryhard. 2nd floor first half where spinning dancers boss is gave me most trouble. Arlecchino getting decimated because i can't dodge shit, and she's getting interrupted so much... but it was fun. I couldn't break ice shield on 3rd floor 2nd half so i just waited until boss ended it haha, still managed to make it in time somehow.
Pretty easy, though limiting on who you can play
Definitely a lot more challenging than previous iterations from 4.X, but it was also the most fun. I generally use Raiden National and some Wanderer hypercarry variation, but this time around with Arlecchino, I had the chance to try something new.

I don't quite know what elements to bring. I put Arle on first half and Alhaitham on second because dendro is good at breaking hydro shields. But then the baptist guy didn't put a hydro shield up. Plus, I cant help but feel his shields functions differently from last time. Instead of 3 shields in a row before a decently long down time. The sields were one at a time with significantly shorter downtime between each. Though, I don't 100% remember what he was like last time. Guy's still a pushover though so it's fine.

I had no problem with the bosses or heralds but god damn the two bond of life fatui are so tanky. I couldn’t kill them in time with my best alhaitham hyperbloom team
Moreso annoying than hard, have to unbenched my Yanfei just for fast clearing the shields on second half.
The issue is that all my best teams want Zhongli

Was able to use Gaming on one side of 12 and that made me really happy. Though, I did only 8 star on my first because I lost my third star on Chamber 2 by literally one second... Altered my parties a bit because I just wasn't breaking the first half shield all that quickly. Furina on the wrong side. Lol
i kinda gave up on doing the abyss if i dont summon for the characters for that patch. my artifact luck is too terrible, none of my characters ever have above 200 CD and i'm always missing one of the characters you need for every team. i wish there was something else to do in this game 😭

Guys quick question. So I was completing my spiral abyss in the last 20 mins before it resets. The moment i completed floor 12 the floor got reset and i couldn't claim any of my primos. Is there any hope that the support will help me?
I did it easily but I invested basically all my inazuma/fontaine primogems for Neuvillette and Wrio C6 (I didn't forget sumeru. I actually rolled for few characters there. Something I really didn't do for inazuma and Fontaine so I had many rolls) (I actually didn't get C6 for Wrio. Waiting for the last cons during the rerun) Room 1: Kazuha Neuvillette Mona Zhongli Room 2: Nahida Wrio Xingqiu Thoma The abyss is actually... More annoying than hard overall. You gotta need to bring comps to take down shields which is kinda annoying. If you have a good pool (in terms of different element) of built characters you should be fine. In this abyss feels like what really matter isn't even the stats you have on your artefact but how many character with different elements you have built. Note: I had to use the sword that apply ousia to take down Coppellius shield. I gave it to Kazuha.
I had fun with off-meta teams. First half i had a burn team. And second half i had a unbuffed Ayato-team, with Ganyu burst support, venti for CC, and Thoma to deal with the ice shield on last boss. But I 36 stared it anyway.
Got 33 first attempt and tried a few times w diff teams but got it same day
First part with alre mono Pyro (and zhongli so I don't get one shot) and hyperbloom in the second part, did it first try! I genuinely thought I wouldn't get full stars at floor 2 since there were a lot of waves and I cleared it at the last second, it worked though!
I'm just glad that rift lord or PMA isn't here. Two of more frustrating bosses for me.
4 hours 💀 My longest abyss clear from 9 to 12 never been longer than 30 mins (for last 2 years), avg is 20-23 and fastest is 14
Abyss lectors suck. Got 35 stars on my first run-through. The Baptist melted like butter against my Arle team (Yelan, Bennett, Layla), but I had to try several times against those lectors on 12-2-2. And even switched teams, trying my Navia, Furina, Xianyun team (though Arle on first half didn’t seem to do as well; having Furina break the shield on the dancers made them easy). Finally gave up & used Alhaitham hyperbloom against the lectors to get the last star. *Then* I went back just for the hell of it to try to full clear with my Arle team & did it that next run. Maybe I was less stressed cuz I had already 36 starred, I don’t know. But it seemed easier that last time.

Ik what you mean and I felt the same too but then I just thought fuck it and tried Raiden National in the first half and Neuvi (with dehya in team instead of zhong). With these teams it suddenly felt easier again. (Raiden National for some reason ripped through the first half) (and the having fun part yea.. I really did have more fun this time around, even when trying out different teams and all)
36 stars after 100+ attempts. 6 different teams, though mostly dendro/eleectro with XQ or Furina, and Bennett thrown in for 12-3-2. I should build a proper pyro DPS team

Same teams as always since almost a year now. Just brute force smashing aside whatever shenanigans Hoyo expects us to do in the current cycle. Except I misjudged in which order to use them and actually had to finish in 16 battles (got 3/3/2 at first attempt) rather than 12. Would have been 12 again if I had realized earlier which order I actually needed

Surprisingly easy, 36 stars in 1 run, not a single restart, I usually run the 12th flor 2 times with different teams and several restarts to 36 star it

Considering I was smart enough to bring countermeasures for those annoying Abyss bastards, pretty damn easy. But I can see 12-2 being one of the most hated chambers in Genshin history...

I do admittedly have quite a few characters so I certainly have an easier time than most people. But I did really like this abyss. Used arle XQ beidou fischl first half and international second half. Did die a couple times but it was just skill issue. Baptist can be annoying but it’s a lot better than last time it was in abyss. I also just always love whenever triple kenki is in abyss. Also both the harbingers tend to be very fun to play when they’re good

Found 12-2 to be harder/tighter than 12-3, had completely forgotten Ousia could break Coppelius' shield. Also that they had 90% anemo res for some reason.
Knave, John Lee, Yelan and Benny. Neuvi, diona, Xingqiu (for resonance, I don't have furina yet) and Xiangling (normally Kazuha, but needed to get rid of shields in 3.2, was pleasantly surprised how well she performed in that team). Second try 36, had to replace Kazuha for Xiangling. Alrecchino destroys Kenki.

I only have 2.5 teams. Neuve Hyper Carry, Nahida Hyperbloom, and a scuffed Navia plunge team with Bennet and... XL. Can't even beat the 1st chamber because someone gets oneshotted on the B side.
Easy. Nothing changed. Still a one run no retry abyss. I did get caught off guard by the flying robots because I went full melee, but that's it. I use Neuvi-Furina and Hutao double Hydro. I still don't have nahida or any dendro characters unfortunately.
Funny enough, hardest floor for me was 12-1. I managed to full star 12-2 and 12-3 in one go, but had to reset 5 times for 12-1. Mostly it was due to chamber 2, I just hate enemies that comes in waves. Edit: Spelling

First tried everything because im a Pyro main but I did have to reset on the Baptist once because I was being too free with my dehya dps cds before the cryo shield. Big oopsies.
Easy to do with "meta teams", but hard to have fun eith due to all these shields and number of waves. You need to answer too many problems at once. Enemies that steal your ult charge aren't fun either.
Pretty okay First half: Itto, Gorou, Albedo, Thoma Second Half: Neuvillete, Barbara, Xiangling, Zhongli Just had to redo Second Chamber ‘cause I was 1 second late (literally). Other than that this Abyss is fine.
As usual no retry what I like to say but I have to retry 2 times cuz my c0 Neuvi always get blown away in phase 2 w/o shield ofc (my Zhongli in phase 1 with Hu Tao). I forgot to use my built Dehya with Neuvi. I can't bear clearing abyss without my XL. It's either XL or Dehya and I picked XL. Welp, next abyss reset it's Dehya turn. More comfort for my Hydro dragon this way.
