Feb 20 2023.
Was bored waiting for Lightfall, so I tried Genshin. Lightfall turned out to be Lightmeme 2077, so I just committed to Genshin and quit Destiny 2 on the spot
Funny to hear I'm not the only one that went from Lightfall to Genshin haha! I left after season of the Deep, game got too repetitive and boring so I came here and haven't played since, this is now my favorite game \^^
How is Destiny 2 nowadays?
I think PlayStation has given away expansions Beyond Light, Witch Queen and Lightfall thru PS+ (WQ was Extra). Makes me think of hopping back, but my last hop back was in PC and the game was barely recognizable after all the sunsets they did.
I haven't played it since middle of last year, so I wouldn't know personally. I've heard that the Final Shape was pretty good, but I didn't check anything about it. Witch Queen was very good, Beyond Light was mediocre and Lightall was terrible, but if you got them for free it might be worth checking out in a few months. Personally I'm happy enough with Genshin \^^
In between 3.4 - 3.5
Saw the free weapon in the event screen and tried to speedrun the game but kept getting railroaded by world lvl restriction on AQs
1.0 but I stopped a little after the first event ended. I just wasn't feeling it. I didn't like Liyue which was 50% of the map, didn't like the Liyue arch in quest, didn't like most of the Liyue characters. There was no Zhongli shield so I hated the combat as it was dodge or die and thus felt abusive.
Came back when I saw Eula gameplay footage.
3 days before Venti's banner was going to end, somehow got Venti on my friend's account with the free pulls and he never knew what a life without a drunk bard was lol
Then 3 days later I found my first target, Klee and cleared the whole damn 1.0 map and quests and everything in 20 days for her and got her :)
August / September 2021 when inazuma got released. The feeing of being teleported into a whole new world never feels the same and the waifu / gacha addiction is beyond fix. Still likes playing the game tho
i started like 2 and a half years ago when my friends at the time kept talking about it. i’m not friends with one of them anymore and neither continued to play it but it has remained my favourite game.
1.6
But I stopped when Inazuma came out due to a lack of motivation to hut AR 25 to finish Liyue.
I then came back around 4.2 when I got a better phone and said "might as well".
Judging by when I got Amber was 2 October 2020, but every other starting character 3 October 2020, I must've played it right before midnight 2 October.
Guess I'd be a day 5 player, though more day 6 I guess.
Finished Mondstadt Oct 5, started Liyue Act 1 Oct 9. (I checked my achievement dates)
Damn, it really has been that long!
September 27, 2020. I went in taking notes so I could later complain about how Genshin is a Chinese Breath of the Wild knockoff, then I reached Liyue and the rest is history.
I started playing in September 2021. I had some periods where I didn't play for a while though. From 2.5-2.8 I didn't play at all. I came back in 2.9 and played consistently until 4.2, and then took a break again until just recently with patch 4.6.
end of january 2022 !! adhd causes me to go weeks or months at a time without playing it so i def feel like i could be farther/have better built characters but i think being ar56 aint too shabby 👍🏼
3.3, 4-th day of the patch (december 11, 2022), so today is my 555 day. Started to 100% world out of boredom (+ i wanted primos badly) on summer of 2023, clearing abyss since idk maybe fall of 2023. Since there i also started (and abandoned) several alt accounts, which are was much more lucky, than my main somehow. The only 2 things that are never was my concern are co-op and achievements. Today i clear abyss in the reset day, clear map/quests within first hours of patch, other days i log exclusively to spend resin and do commisions, guess this is what overplayed boredom does.
I played in the first week when the game released I think... but I got freaked out by the Ruin guards so I could... Only to come back on Itto's banner (Love the guy, had to get him - but I only managed to get him when I skipped Wanderer)
Not sure exactly when, but I remember waiting for Yanfei and Eula to come out and I remember Childes was on the banner and trying him out. So either in like 1.1 or in 1.4, I've been enjoying Genshin for a solid majority of it's life span.
Started somewhere in 2021 or 2022 (I think) for 10 minutes because my phone couldn't handle it.
I downloaded it for real in the summer of 2023, at the start of July when my parents were on a trip. It took me about 12-13 hours to download everything. Started playing, hit a record of 32 hours without sleeping.
I think around launch. I remember seeing the "botw ripoff" thing go around and as a huge fan of botw I just wanted to play a game that had that s a me feel. And was hooked after 4 hours of playing. Then I rerolled on October 31st of that year and got keqing and thus that account became my main one.
The first Lantern Rite! Registered an account during the first Zhongli banner which is December 2020(?) but only actively played during the first Xiao banner (since I pulled for him and got him so might as well play the game). Stopped for a year(?) right after the onset of the Raiden Shogun’s archon quest but came back just in time for Neuvillette’s banner.
One and a half years ago, in 3.3 during Ayato's second banner appearance. So sometime in winter between 2022 and 2023.
Wanderer's quest was on the events screen, and there were some limited time events in Sumeru that I had to miss. The game wanted me to complete something called "Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises" in mere days to participate, but I was too busy fighting Stormterror and solving the case of the Dark Knight Hero.
I've been playing actively ever since. It's the only game I've played in the last couple of years, and I still love it. I do things at a snail's pace, mainly because of being busy with work and my own projects, and I only play when I want to relax, but I have done and completed almost everything. I can't wait for Natlan.
Since February 2021, played on and off in the beginning to playing pretty much daily. I was looking for an anime style game that's not too generic.
Never did I think I'd embrace the grind in a game that much, at this point I'm basically hoarding artefacts, primos and other mats since I'm not building all characters I got. Waiting for a couple people to appear maybe more, we'll see...
Around the time when the Electro Archon Quest was new. Then the game kind of fell off for me due to the whole gacha aspect and the amount of time to grind for good artifacts (at that point I completed the Geo Archon Quest before leaving the game). Then Furina happened. One glance at the character, and I knew I needed to come back. Unfortunately, I was a few days late when coming back to the game (because of me trying to platinum "Spongebob: Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated"), so I missed out on Furina. However, "The Two Musketeers" Event started shortly after, so I speedrunned the Interlude Chapters, Electro, Dendro and Hydro Archon Quests, and all the Major World Quests featured in Liyue, Inazuma and Sumeru (including, God forbid, the 12 hour Aranara World Quest which I completed before entering into Sumeru City for the first time), while also taking my time to process the stories in the Archon Quests and Interlude Chapters. After all of that, I only had less than 24 hours to get through "The Two Musketeers" story and complete everything the Event offers before it ended. I've managed to complete and obtain the Event rewards. Now that Furina's coming back on her rerun, I've prepared myself well for her rerun.
1.4 during childe banner. I've only missed out on festering desire and windblume ode event weapons! I wish I could've been there because I like collecting them lol
I installed it when hu tao’s first banner was around but i didnt stick with the game. Reinstalled November last year n it finally clicked, played almost every day since then.
During 3.1! Felt very lucky that in my confused newbie state I didn’t pull on Albedo/Nilou banner because both of those characters would’ve been hellish to build looking back (pulled Nilou on her re-run and now I love blowing everything up with an actual bloom team)!!
Introduced to game: end of 1.4
First account: literally the last day of 1.6, mom deleted it during 2.1
Second account: sometime around 2.4, got caught and deleted in 3.0
Third account: sometime around second half of 3.2, got busted again and deleted in 3.5
Current account: made on 4.0 release date, although haven’t logged in since 4.6 second half
Back in October 2020, my friend told me it's a very good game and a huge open world but for me personally i was just curious about the meme on the internet where i thought Paimon was really an emergency ration/food. 😂
I joined some time in June 2021 around 5 days before the klee banner ended. Eventually after a few months, the ping magically became worse so I moved to the Europe server. Then the same thing happened so I moved to Asia server around 2.0
around when dragonspine released, I don’t have the exact date, but I did take a break almost immediately after getting the game so I still don’t have festering desire
some time in march of 22 i think, in between Inazuma and Sumeru.
a friend of mine had started playing and fell in love with Kaeya, so she wanted me to play too so i could see him
oh the irony
it was either launch day or the day after...
Same, but many long off-periods
Same
Same
Same
same
Same
The minute the game launched in Sept 2020.
February 2021. Still love it, even those quiet days of playing for just 10 minutes doing dailies.
About same for me, but I had phases when I played like 2-5 months and then quit genshin for half a year
I'm a 1.6 player, though I never got to experience the first GAA. I was still doing newbie things and didn't unlock it.
I started at the end of 1.5 and just barely got to experience GAA. It’s some of my very first memories in the game :)
Same here. I was able to do some of the minigames to get the Barbara outfit, but not the story.
Feb 20 2023. Was bored waiting for Lightfall, so I tried Genshin. Lightfall turned out to be Lightmeme 2077, so I just committed to Genshin and quit Destiny 2 on the spot
i quit playing d2 around witch queen, when i realised paying like £40 every new dlc wasn't worth it
Funny to hear I'm not the only one that went from Lightfall to Genshin haha! I left after season of the Deep, game got too repetitive and boring so I came here and haven't played since, this is now my favorite game \^^

Today. :)
Welcome, Traveler. Hope you enjoy the ride :)
A week after launch
From ancient times
Dec 2nd 2020, some time after Genshin won GOTY for Google Play (iirc)
1/1/2021, apparently
1.0, but I stopped during the first lantern rite and only came back in November
November 2023. I heard a lot of negative stuff about that game, and thought "It can't be THAT bad." It turned out to be good actually.
30th of September 2020
Ayyy that’s my birthday! (Off topic, sorry)
The fact that it’s off topic makes it funnier
Launch day.
As someone who started playing during 4.3 Phase 2, the amount of older players here is astounding.
In between 3.4 - 3.5 Saw the free weapon in the event screen and tried to speedrun the game but kept getting railroaded by world lvl restriction on AQs
3.5 or something like that. I definitely remember missing the whole Windblume event and getting Hu Tao as my first 5 star
3.8
The 30th of January, 2023.
I think it was March last year. Just in time to lose my first wanted 5\*, Eula.
Nov 8, 2020.
Sometime in 4.3 I think, during Xiao and Yae Miko’s last rerun
End of 1.2 just late enough to lose my first 50/50 for ganyu and miss festering desire by like a week.
6/9/2022 coincidentally, while bored on a trip.
Lisa’s Birthday
Day 1, I got Amber on the 28th september 2020.
October 2020? A week or so after launch. And just happened to miss my birthday so i didn't get the first cake.
October 1 2020
if i remember correctly 3.6, about the same time sumeru’s desert was dropping
I played about a week after the game launched, but I took a massive break before Inazuma, and came back about 2 weeks after Fontaine started lol
1.5, then I left and came back in 3.4
Like 4 days ago lmao
3 days before Venti's banner was going to end, somehow got Venti on my friend's account with the free pulls and he never knew what a life without a drunk bard was lol Then 3 days later I found my first target, Klee and cleared the whole damn 1.0 map and quests and everything in 20 days for her and got her :)
day 1
It will be a year in few days. Time flies by so fast.
End of Febuary 2021.
October 20th 2020
About two weeks in. Venti was on-banner, but it soon changed to Klee.
Nov 2020 iirc
Just before or during raiden Shoguns first rerun 2.4 i think
August last year, because i was going on a car vacation and wouldn't have much to do during the rides (i thought Genshin could be played offline lmao)
23rd December, 2020
March 10 2024 ish
5/10/2021 during Kokomi's first banner
I’m American and I was so confused while reading that lol
1.5
18th of November 2020
I would check but I'm not at home to do so but around Yun Jins release I believe
June 2021 patch 1.6. The first summer island adventure.
August / September 2021 when inazuma got released. The feeing of being teleported into a whole new world never feels the same and the waifu / gacha addiction is beyond fix. Still likes playing the game tho
last year, when my brother introduced me the game
1.6 but i stopped after like a week or so and came back on itto's banner
1.4 and my first 5 star was kazuha. He has always been on my team ever since.
Launch day, as soon as my pc finally managed to download the game, that was such a pain in the ass lol
i started like 2 and a half years ago when my friends at the time kept talking about it. i’m not friends with one of them anymore and neither continued to play it but it has remained my favourite game.
Since 3.6
October 10th of the year it was released
1.6 But I stopped when Inazuma came out due to a lack of motivation to hut AR 25 to finish Liyue. I then came back around 4.2 when I got a better phone and said "might as well".
Literally yesterday
Around mid-August 2023.
First week till first anniversary
February 4, 2024.
Not right at launch but before the first event
Around the first lantern rite
I started at launch then stopped for a while until I got my pc then started a new main account in 2.3 during Eula’s rerun
1.0
14 April 2022
When did kwite post his first genshin impact video on YouTube
Last year
Eula’s first banner! Thought Klee was adorable and it got me into the game, happy she had a rerun pretty soon after that
Judging by when I got Amber was 2 October 2020, but every other starting character 3 October 2020, I must've played it right before midnight 2 October. Guess I'd be a day 5 player, though more day 6 I guess. Finished Mondstadt Oct 5, started Liyue Act 1 Oct 9. (I checked my achievement dates) Damn, it really has been that long!
Halfway through Chiori’s banner
around when neuvillette's first banner was out
two weeks ago
1.6
Like two days ago
mid 1.2 ,early ganyu banner
September 27, 2020. I went in taking notes so I could later complain about how Genshin is a Chinese Breath of the Wild knockoff, then I reached Liyue and the rest is history.
feb 1, 2024 wouldve started earlier but didn't have enough storage, then i remembered about geforce
Idk, a couple of months after launch
When we had the Navia banner.
Launch day... and pretty soon after launch time too
The last week of venti's banner in 1.0
I... just don't remember. My memory sucks af..
Nahida, stopped next phase. Started again at Wriosley.
Launch hour, i seen it all experienced it all. It’s crazy to see Genshin grown so much since
I started playing in September 2021.
At launch and then left until inazuma release
3.3, 4-th day of the patch (december 11, 2022), so today is my 555 day. Started to 100% world out of boredom (+ i wanted primos badly) on summer of 2023, clearing abyss since idk maybe fall of 2023. 3.0. AR 60 now. Time sure went fast.
Not sure exactly when, but I remember waiting for Yanfei and Eula to come out and I remember Childes was on the banner and trying him out. So either in like 1.1 or in 1.4, I've been enjoying Genshin for a solid majority of it's life span.

It took me about 12-13 hours to download everything. Started playing, hit a record of 32 hours without sleeping.
idk but i think it was the update of or directly after sumeru released. all i remember is some of the first banners i saw being ganyu and kokomi
My favorite bard's first banner
Late 3.4
2.2 or 2.3
I think around launch. I remember seeing the "botw ripoff" thing go around and as a huge fan of botw I just wanted to play a game that had that s a me feel. And was hooked after 4 hours of playing. Then I rerolled on October 31st of that year and got keqing and thus that account became my main one.
Week 1 of launch
Summer 2022. had one of my best gaming times ever.
I think it was a little after the release of inazuma? But I had to take a break from the time sumeru released up till Fontaine then came back.
Early 2021 but I gave a long pause and returned right before Fontaine release
During Liyue. I remembered hyping for Inazuma
Around Dec 2021
The first Lantern Rite! Registered an account during the first Zhongli banner which is December 2020(?) but only actively played during the first Xiao banner (since I pulled for him and got him so might as well play the game). Stopped for a year(?) right after the onset of the Raiden Shogun’s archon quest but came back just in time for Neuvillette’s banner.
Probably the last week of the eternal ayaka banner. I got her
Day 1 Baby..
1/1/2021
Three weeks ago
Around the festering desire event. Didn’t have enough knowledge to grab the sword tho…
On 1.6 if I'm not wrong
Technically right before Inazuma but I took a long break up until 4.0 Because I was commited to playing other games.
One and a half years ago, in 3.3 during Ayato's second banner appearance. So sometime in winter between 2022 and 2023. Wanderer's quest was on the events screen, and there were some limited time events in Sumeru that I had to miss. I can't wait for Natlan.
I tried it on launch day but my couldn't handle it at the time. Came back right before 2.0.
Roughly 2 weeks after launch. I did some homework first and convinced some bros to play too.
around yae/the irodori patch
Either 1 or 2 days after launch don't remember
Launch day, 28 September 2020. And I haven't missed a single login ever since
4.1, during Neuvi’s first banner
Mid February 2024
When there is darkness 40 feet away from you
about 2nd day after launch.
A week after launch. Was rerolling to get a 5 star headstart. Got Qiqi, but she carried anyway.
I started playing during Ganyu's first run, and quit part way through Sumeru
March 2023. My first anniversary feels so recent...
Version 3.7, on Yun Jin's birthday (21 May 2023)
June 1st, 2023
A week after launch
Around November, a few months after the game’s release. I even got to do that event that first showed Scaramouche.
Day 1, haven't stopped since. My UID's at the 10k range. Missed a few logins here and there though (too drunk to login)
January 29 2021. Started playing because of Ganyu
Probably within the first minute of launch.
I believe right before sumeru, but I took a break til right before fontaine
Around the time when the Electro Archon Quest was new. Then the game kind of fell off for me due to the whole gacha aspect and the amount of time to grind for good artifacts (at that point I completed the Geo Archon Quest before leaving the game). 1.4 during childe banner. I've only missed out on festering desire and windblume ode event weapons! I wish I could've been there because I like collecting them lol
When Liyue just came out
when enkanomiya came out! that’s beautiful
Last October. It's been such a blast!
March
A couple days before yoimiya’s first banner was out. Pulled twice got Jean as my first 5 star, I still yet to have yomiya to this day :c
October 10th 2023
The banner of eternity
Some point early Inazuma
I installed it when hu tao’s first banner was around but i didnt stick with the game. Reinstalled November last year n it finally clicked, played almost every day since then.
A little bit after the launch. One of my friends suggested it and I thought what the heck. Then I was addicted by that night 😂
Albedo first banner
Give it a rest we have this conversation every week
Day 2 Lol
i joined in the last days of venti's first banner
January 2022
When there was 18 days left of Zhongli’s 2nd banner so 1.5 I think.
day 1, haven't missed a day
Around 1 week after launch.
Tried at launch then wait until 2022 and haven't stopped playing since
During 3.1! Felt very lucky that in my confused newbie state I didn’t pull on Albedo/Nilou banner because both of those characters would’ve been hellish to build looking back (pulled Nilou on her re-run and now I love blowing everything up with an actual bloom team)!!
I created my account when servers were down between 2.4 and 2.5. So technically, I started in 2.5 but I thought it was cool to share that.
Dec 2020.
Introduced to game: end of 1.4 First account: literally the last day of 1.6, mom deleted it during 2.1 Second account: sometime around 2.4, got caught and deleted in 3.0 Third account: sometime around second half of 3.2, got busted again and deleted in 3.5 Current account: made on 4.0 release date, although haven’t logged in since 4.6 second half
December 2020
Klee's very first banner. I didn't pull for her cuz I already got Diluc as my first ever 5* just after 18 pulls on the standard banner.
October 6, 2020.
Back in October 2020, my friend told me it's a very good game and a huge open world but for me personally i was just curious about the meme on the internet where i thought Paimon was really an emergency ration/food. 😂
2 weeks before patch 1.6, it was during Zhongli'r rerun (he's my 1st 5-star).
may 2021
Currently probably like a couple weeks in the future. Maybe not though. That’s my current plan though.
I joined some time in June 2021 around 5 days before the klee banner ended. Eventually after a few months, the ping magically became worse so I moved to the Europe server. Then the same thing happened so I moved to Asia server around 2.0
When Eula’s og banner dropped
around when dragonspine released, I don’t have the exact date, but I did take a break almost immediately after getting the game so I still don’t have festering desire
Friend start playing genshin and invite me
some time in march of 22 i think, in between Inazuma and Sumeru. a friend of mine had started playing and fell in love with Kaeya, so she wanted me to play too so i could see him oh the irony
When i found out furina existed
Kazuhas first banner, I liked Sucrose and Klee
During the penguin event in Fontaine! Super fun and I’ve had pretty good luck so far!
Day 1.. and not miss a single day.
I joined when the first yelan banner had 3 days left. Played until the dehya banner, took a pause and returned just before the clorinde banner.
Version 1.1
