Same with Skirk and her fishbones dress, or the designs for the perfume lady or goth girl that we may never get... I hate this part of the flood :/
There are a million reasons why concepts that may look better on paper donāt make it to the final version. A few of those Nahida concepts from that leak for example donāt follow design conventions for playable characters at all and would never actually be implemented in the game. If that makes you sad then I suggest you stop looking at them because itās just gonna make you more disappointed.
Or, just add a new base body type once in a while. There is no possible way to create Varka, based on his descriptions, with the current base playable types. I don't really care if it means a bit more storage for mobile. 150lb or smaller men are not buff or titans, they are just low bodyfat small to average people.

The Skirk design is a curious one, I wouldn't write it off just yet. Childe's Foul Legacy transformation is something he learned from Skirk specifically. Skirk is the servant/underling of an entity known as "The Foul", or Surtalogi, after all.
Skirk has her own Foul Legacy transformation, which if you pay close attention to her design, it makes that quite clear. The arms and legs of her model almost seem made for additional pieces of armor to be summoned over them, in particular. We might even see the fishbone tail as part of her Foul Legacy transformation.
That's a crazy nice idea!!!!
There's just one problem though... we'll never get that form as a playable version ;-;
I hate how hsr has all the cool stuff, Dan Heng can have another playable version where he's a god, but our boy Childe can't have his foul legacy electro version :c
I wouldn't be surprised if Skirk does get her Foul Legacy playable, as her Burst form. I'd imagine her as a character like Xiao or Cyno, in that her Burst would involve a long duration buff that changes her model.
As for why Skirk's Foul Legacy could be playable and not Childe's? Well, it's not like Childe's Foul Legacy isn't playable because it would be too strong, we have Neuvillette around now. Even in his Foul Legacy form, Skirk considers Childe to be very weak, but is happy to talk to Traveler and Neuvillette.
Since Childe's Electro powers come from his Delusion and not Foul Legacy, and Skirk doesn't possess a Vision, I would assume Skirk is supposed to be the same element as Dainsleif, and thus there'd be no "dual element" aspect to Skirk's Foul Legacy. Lastly, Childe is a character who challenges himself deliberately, and fights without Foul Legacy or his Delusion on purpose because it's fun, but we have no indication Skirk holds back for fun or to challenge herself.
Sumeru and Inazuma was just model dumps. There wasn't anything more than that. The characters all show up in the story so the models are in the beta. The Fontaine one was different because someone stole an artist's credentials and used it to download whatever they had access to.
We had the images of cast coming. It featured Kokomi as Mimi. That was inazumas and it had Sayu and some others

No, we only got Sumeru character leaks in 2.7.
We had the original designs for Kokomi, Kazuha and Sayu; they were in that famous 8-character leak page from 1.X (that also had Rosaria, Shenhe's original model, Yun Jin, Hu Tao and Yaoyao).
We also had Thoma and Ayaka.
Besides them, we got Raiden leaks in like 1.5, and then we got the models in 1.6 patch/2.0 beta.
The leak is a little awkward so it's not surprising if people didn't see the notes from the leaker. If you are thinking the one that looks like Gallagher is his concept, yes, you are correct. That's Gallagher. The notes implies he is being used as a reference for some characters.
So the Varka concept is the white haired character you see.

Body type or size, I'd guess. HSR has an additional model type for slightly larger men, so if they want to do something similar in Genshin they might as well use the finished products in HSR as reference.

Because otherwise, there really isn't much to imply this is him, and I've seen people say the reference image is *the* reason they trust this leak. And looking at it, besides colours, there aren't any other aspects of the design that imply it's based on a Templar Knight specifically.

I don't think we'll ever gonna get a more male mommy-er male mommy than Thoma. He took care of the young Ayaka, while Ayato was fighting to keep hold of the power of the Kamisato clan. Thoma keeps Ayato's estate in order, cleans, cooks for him, and for Ayaka, and takes care even of the stray animals, and the other workers of the estate. He is a proper malewife.
And then there is Kaveh, who just like Thoma, cooks, cleans, decorates the house, and takes care of all of the domestic errands (Kaveh character stories). He nags at Alhaitham to put things away after himself, and packs him food, so the scribe won't starve himself reading all day. He constantly threatens to leave Alhaitham, and his house, and plans to take all the house decoration with him. XD
In the end this seems like it might be early concept art. We saw how Clorinde, Skirk, and Emilie had a lot of very different designs for concept art, so it's possible that's the case here too.

Probably fake but not a bad start if he has the Wrio bod; he's got scars, a bit of scruff and the older guy eye lines. The hairstyle could be more distinct though. I've been expecting something Siegfried-ish so this isn't far off.

And the knight is self explanatory even if no kof has red in their armor, but that can be justified as a rank thing or changed later.
