I love my sig. Iām a better shot with it than my glock. Iāll admit they had some design flaws, but Iāve loaded my sig, threw it at the ground several times and it didnāt go off (I know, bad safety practice). But letās be real, thereās a reason I carry my glock 90% of the time and leave the sig at home lol. Not taking a chance.
One that doesn't hurt as much if TSA loses it. Haven't lost one yet, but have had stuff stolen from my luggage with a gun in it. I have no faith in those low IQ, power hungry sloths.
Iāve never seen a requirement for insurance. There are FAA regulations, TSA rules, and Airline Policy. You have to satisfy all three, and probably educate some of the folks at the airport on their own rules. I always bring a folder with the relevant documents relating to each set of rules.
Itās a project.
G48 MOS/EPS carry/TLR7sub/T1C holster. Using a Hunter Constantine belt, I can carry with gym shorts, which makes it a little bit more comfortable in this heat.
Itās so much better. The versatility alone is enough for me to buy another one should I ever need it. I was hesitant on the price when first buying but itās been amazing and itās been a great upgrade for me. Very very comfortable compared to a stiff belt.
We usually take trips to places that donāt allow firearms by law or company policy (that we would actually give a damn about being banned from). If weāre doing a road trip or something I got my 43 tucked in the arm rest for easy on/off and comfort when carrying.
I carried my g48 for a hot minute in Utah bear country, got chased/stalked by a bear for about 3 miles on an archery elk hunt. We knew he was there, and he wasnāt coming too hard and fast for us, but I immediately went and bought a 10mm. And that is just our little black bears.
For wildlife defense, with 9mm, I carry [Underwood 115grain +p+ Xtreme Penetrator.](https://underwoodammo.com/9mm-luger-plus-p-plus-115-grain-xtreme-penetrator/) The solid monolithic Lehigh bullet. Itās 1,300fps at 465ft/lbs of energy.
Is that a good wildlife defense round? Is the Buffalo Bore 147g +p mentioned above a better option? Would that be 1,100fps at 395ft/lbs of energy?
I would purchase this [Underwood 147g +p+ FMJ](https://underwoodammo.com/9mm-luger-p-147gr.-full-metal-jacket-flat-nose-hunting-ammo/) if it were ever in stock. 147grains at 1,175fps at 451ft/lbs.
Does the heavier 147g bullet at 395ft/lbs make a big enough difference over the 115g at 465ft/lbs?
Iāve never actually used my 9mm against an animal. I mainly walk my dog in rural areas and would take her with me when camping, and worry about my dogās scent attracting predators and want to be able to protect here.
Around here all I have to worry about is wild hogs, coyotes, unleashed and aggressive dogs, and maybe the occasional panther/couger/big cat.
Wondering how well those 9mm options would perform against the animal threats listed above, but am also curious as to how well they would perform against larger threats like a bear or mountain lion.
Iād probably want to buy a Glock 20 and carry spicy wildlife specific 10mm Buffalo bore or Underwood if I was camping in an area full of dangerous predators for an extended period of time. But I doubt Iāll be in that situation, Iād probably camp out west for a week at most if I ever even did it. So realistically Iād most likely carry my Glock 19 with whatever the best 9mm load there was for wildlife defense. I just canāt justify buying a 10mm for a niche situation if my 9mmās would be enough.
Take a look on the Buffalo bore page for this ammo for a lot of info. My homies in Idaho turned me onto these rounds. Again lots of details on penetration for thick bones critters, good background.
Usually my LCP Max for deep concealment, or my G48. My X Macro stays home (17rds/threaded barrel, blah, blah, blah). Still parts of my rotation and train with them regularly.
Ima receive hate for this but honestly Iāve been traveling with my shield plus more than anything. Itās real light and can carry in shorts. Donāt get me wrong I can carry my 47,19x or 43x but I pack light. Now I took my 19x with 19+1 when I traveled to Chicago this past year but every other place Iāve traveled has been warm so itās been my Shield plus.
What allowed you to travel to Chicago without a license? (Assuming you donāt have one, maybe wrong) I have family up there and would love to carry when I visit
Iāll take my chances. Iām not out there often was visiting family. Iām not telling anyone to break the law but Iām a rather be safe than sorry person. I respect everyoneās personal decision but Iām willing to take that risk traveling with my young children.
Agreed, absolutely nothing wrong in my mind with choosing to carry in places you arenāt legally allowed to do so, but itās another thing entirely to say, āyes you can legally do soā when you cannot.
Im on vacation right now and carrying my G19.5 (as always) in a tenicor holster and Nexbelt. I am only wearing cargo shorts or Arrowhead Tactical shorts since itās so hot.
Depends on where
Beach during the day? Maybe a LCP
Beach area at night? Glock 27
Mountains? Glock 27 with hard cast rounds
Any big cities during nightlife hours.. Glock 19 with Glock 17 mag
I donāt go to any state that I canāt conceal carry a weapon. I live in Montana so I always have a 10mm in my truck for grizzlies or when Iām hunting. I have a suppressed SBR in my camper with 10/22ās for the kids. My EDC is either a macro or g19
Not at all. I live in MT which is one of the best places to fish and hunt, which my family enjoys the most. When they want to go to the beach or see Mickey we go to Florida. We just got back from 3 weeks in Europe so Iām not afraid to travel without my EDC. I just try to avoid the places where I canāt carry. I have zero need to visit California or NY. Theyāre both shit holes, I was born in Cali and lived in NY so yeah, I can relate.
Truth be told - I carry a weapon in every state I go to. I just prefer to carry it on me vs in a lock box, in my vehicle and separated from my ammo.
So let me edit what I said āI try not to go anywhere without my EDCā.
We still have a home in Santa Barbara and I do like to visit Cali - Yosemite, Santa Cruz, Tahoe mostly. I just hate to see the greatest state at one time totally destroyed from within.
I brought my G26 and G43. I could have carried my 19, but didnāt want to sweat all over it. The G43 did well in my water proof fanny pack while kayaking or at the beach
My normal EDC, a Gunsite G45, and a rifle in my bag. Usually a 10.5 AR, unless I'm on my bike, then I have a 12in Draco with a side folder in my saddle bag.
If I ever got to go on vacation I would take my 43x mos. Same thing I carry everyday.
I definitely wonāt carry something with a huge light on it. I would get a light that doesnāt stick out past the muzzle or dust cover for more comfortable carry.
If my 43x wasnāt around I would take my stock gen 4 19. All it has is Glock night sights. Hides nicely.
Ruger LCP Max, itās a lot to travel with my G19 edc cuz I have to pack my holster and a belt and all that stuff but I can just throw this right in my pocket
When traveling I CCW a Glock 43x with EPS Carry Green dot, the PSA 15rd mag with Federal HST 124grain +p or Underwood 115g or 124g +p+ hollow points. I have a couple of extra 15rd mags and OEM 10rd mags in my vehicle and bags, and I have a mag holder in case I ever feel like I need to carry an extra mag in some situation. But since Iām usually traveling for business or vacationing itās always in nice areas, so no need to strap up.
I usually go with maximal concealment and light weight. No weapon mounted like, no bulky holster, and no mag sidecart for the holster. Just a slim AIWB holster and my 43x.
If Iām at the beach I donāt carry my pistol, or if Iām somewhere touristy it is always a nice and upscale place, so I usually donāt even CCW at those places.
I drive for most of my travels, so in my truck I have a Glock 19 MOS with Holosun SCS, TLR7A, and also use Federal HST 124g +p or Underwood 115grain/124grain +p+ hollow points, and keep a few extra mags in my truck.
For vacationing in the wilderness I carry the Glock 19 above with the SCS, TLR 7a, and have my AIWB holster along in with an outside waistband holster for when Iām camping and remote, and a magazine holster for 2 extra mags. I use wildlife defense rounds like the Underwood Extreme Penetrator +p+ and 147grain +p+ FMJ-FN. With a mag or 2 of 124grain +p/+p+ hollow points for human threats.
G43x when I took my family to Orlando as that was a 1 week trip, but decided on my LCP to my sister's wedding in Miami because I was there for just 2 days. Can't carry in Puerto Rico but that's fine as I grew up far from the dangerous San Juan metropolitan area and visit my family in the much safer countryside. And my wife is from northern Portugal where crime is so low everyone keeps their doors unlocked, keys in the car, and leave their shit on the beach to go have lunch.
Planning to get my slide cut for an rmr in a couple months. Itās the only thing I feel like Iām missing. Training with irons is good for marksmanship anyways in the meantime. What optic do you run?
I hope you go through Wage, heās got the best turn around times and is praised here. It depends on my day, usually itās my SCS. My other 19 is fitted with an Aimpoint Acro P2. If Iām going to the city or going somewhere new I prefer the smaller footprint but if itās familiar territory or somewhere that recognizes my CCW then itās the Acro.
Sounds like a solid setup. And yeah was definitely going to go through wage. Iād like to get top slide serrations too. Iāve been looking at the Acro P2 and I canāt tell if itāll feel too bulky or not compared to an rmr
Honestly people will say the P2 isnāt bulky but for my body type it is bro. I went chose it over the RMR because Iām not bout to unmount to change the battery. Call it lazy or whatever but thatās just me. Thatās why my main carry since I work in health care and chase my kiddos around when Iām not is my G19 with the SCS.

Thatās pretty awesome ngl
What did it say? It's deleted now
Iām not looking forward to that as my wife and I are going to Mexico next month.
Only the criminals with guns. Just how liberals like it lol
I very rarely leave the U.S., I carry my 19 everywhere. If Iām feeling dangerous Iāll carry my 320 so I can shoot my nuts off
"shoot my nuts off" š¤£
Shoot them one at a time and you can have twice the fun!
Brave of you to assume I have two nuts
Two nuts LEFT I mean And two to the right, too Four total?

I love my sig. Iām a better shot with it than my glock. Iām just here for the sig jokes man
I'm in the exact same boat. I shoot my 320RXP like Rob Leatham, but I carry my g19 EDC.

Cheddar Bob is the new 320 model

Don't know. I would imagine so. They left the gun, but took pharmaceuticals, hair gel, a belt and a knife. I just filed a report, nothing came of it.
Maybe if someone were to contact the ATF?
You do need insurance on your firearm & to check it separately usually when traveling

Glock g19gen5 with Buffalo bore 147 grain, hard cast fn , 1100 fps. Heading to MT backcountry. Bear spray #1, wifes Annie Oakley š¤£š [Buffalo 9mm +P](https://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=388)
Side subject but how do you feel confidence-wise about carrying 9mm in bear country?
I carried my g48 for a hot minute in Utah bear country, got chased/stalked by a bear for about 3 miles on an archery elk hunt. We knew he was there, and he wasnāt coming too hard and fast for us, but I immediately went and bought a 10mm. And that is just our little black bears.
Bear spray option 1 and 2. Iām confident in my response, that model, aim and the ability of that round to do what itās built for.

I have a ccw from my home state and serval others. As long as you have one from the home state you can carry in your vehicle.
Hellcat micro for summer carry š³
You traveled to Chicago with a gun, legally? I didnāt think that was possible. Are you an Illinois resident?
Yes you can legally conceal carry a firearm in a vehicle if you have ccw permit from your home state. You can read it online.
Be careful, itās only valid if youāre traveling THROUGH
Iāll take my chances. Iām not out there often was visiting family. Iām not telling anyone to break the law but Iām a rather be safe than sorry person. I respect everyoneās personal decision but Iām willing to take that risk traveling with my young children.

Same thing as every day š¤š» Critical Duty. Nice. Did you know those in āthe knowā call it Crit Doots?
So wait, what countries can we travel to from the US with our pew pews, and can legally carry there?
I donāt travel guns are life
45 for the City 10mm for Woods
Carbon copy of that except all black with a EPS green
Critical duties goated
LCR just like I do when I am not on vacation.
Driving: 13.7 and a Glock 17 Flying: normally to ca or ma. Nothing unfortunately
Glock 17 gen 3
Solid choice. Been wanting to try a gen 3
Get one bro this shit is amazing. Sold my Taurus after 7 months and got the Glock 17
Maybe after I get an rmr for this gun. Other than loads of ammo and training thatās my priority is getting the slide cut for an optic
How long have u had the paint job and is this your edc?
About a week. Technically my edc yes; I canāt carry at my workplace but everywhere else it comes with me
Cool, been thinking about a painting on my frame just been nervous
Get an lcp max for your pocket at work
What did you paint it with? Curious as Iāve been wanting to do this.
Just rustoleum khaki
Just came back from Mexico yesterday and letās just say I am glad I live in the us and can actually defend my self.
Glock 43 pocket carry
G45 with Hornady critical duty.
I usually carry my 26 mos while traveling. But it usually has a grip sleeve with a 15+1 capacity or a 12+1 depending on the situation and clothing.
I usually bring two, G19 and lcp. I carry the 19 and keep the lcp for if Iām walking out of the hotel/air bnb for something. I just like choices.
I brought my G26 and G43. I could have carried my 19, but didnāt want to sweat all over it. The G43 did well in my water proof fanny pack while kayaking or at the beach
I vacation in an oppressive state where they would arrest me if I had a gun.
Wait, people still get vacations?! What else haven't I been told?!
I usually bring two. My emergency/go-bag gun(Glock26.3) and my compact p320 with a manual safety.
All of them
Usually, I'm on a cruise ship, but the two times I've gone out of state, I kept my 10mm S&W PC. Flat, accurate, and plenty of stopping power.
I vacation with the same pistol I carry everyday. Why would it be any different? One gun one holster.
I carry everyday but my g19 is the one that comes with me when I go out of town itās the one I trust the most to get me home
Lol I carried the exact same thing on my vacation 2 weeks ago. Fde frame G19 (non MOS) x300 inside a TXC Ally holster with a G17 spare mag.
G26.5 MOS with FCD plate , RMR, and GPT is my dedicated travel carry
G17 as usual
Same thing I carry everywhere. Glock 43x MOS with a Holosun 507k in Tenicor Certum.
You guys are getting vacations?
Either the 43x or the g19. Depends on what activities ill be doing.
Usually my taurus 856 on me and my glock 19 in the car since I'm fishing alot on vaca.
Take a real vacation. From your worries/problems.
I carry that one Glock
I bring both my 43x and 19
43x MOS
Glock 29 better to stay ready then need to get ready
Snub .38 in the pocket.
My normal EDC, a Gunsite G45, and a rifle in my bag. Usually a 10.5 AR, unless I'm on my bike, then I have a 12in Draco with a side folder in my saddle bag.
I see you have a flat trigger on the Glock. How does it feel?
Feels great! I just got the trigger shoe but it decreases takeup quite a bit
Its a light with a gun attached lol jk nice setup. G30s for me.
Well. When I travel itās usually to japan. Hard to bring a gun.
I bring a g45. I always do my best to fly direct.
The same one I EDC - S&W Shield Plus
If I ever got to go on vacation I would take my 43x mos. Same thing I carry everyday. I definitely wonāt carry something with a huge light on it. I would get a light that doesnāt stick out past the muzzle or dust cover for more comfortable carry. If my 43x wasnāt around I would take my stock gen 4 19. All it has is Glock night sights. Hides nicely.
Glock 43x the 10 rd magazines make it less complicated for some States
How long do I have until mine starts fading like that
Glock 26. Tried and true, legal in commiefornia
HK vp9
G19 gen 3, does itās job and isnāt too big.
Big ass 21
Ruger LCP Max, itās a lot to travel with my G19 edc cuz I have to pack my holster and a belt and all that stuff but I can just throw this right in my pocket
When traveling I CCW a Glock 43x with EPS Carry Green dot, the PSA 15rd mag with Federal HST 124grain +p or Underwood 115g or 124g +p+ hollow points. I have a couple of extra 15rd mags and OEM 10rd mags in my vehicle and bags, and I have a mag holder in case I ever feel like I need to carry an extra mag in some situation.
I carry my G45 almost exclusively.
The same thing I usually carry; my glock 30. But if I'm on a nature trail I'll go with my 21 or my Taurus 65
Glock 48 mos and an MP5 in my briefcase
why would a vacation necessitate difference from regular EDC? dumb premise.
Glock 19.5 MOS all day everyday. Whether Iām traveling alone or with my wife and kids I do whatās necessary to conceal it.
Planning to get my slide cut for an rmr in a couple months. Itās the only thing I feel like Iām missing. Training with irons is good for marksmanship anyways in the meantime. What optic do you run?
