I tend to vacation in countries that don't allow guns.

Moneyhunter09

I just got back from Colombia and man let me tell you I felt like a fish with a dick without my pistol on my waist.

juleswp

šŸ¤”... I have never heard this expression but it might just be my new fave lol

whatsgoing_on

>>fish with a dick *Kanye has entered the chat*

Kwilburn525

Yeah honestly I wonā€™t be leaving the country anytime soon šŸ˜‚

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

RareResearch2076

Can anyone do what you did? Cause thatā€™s really cool and Iā€™d like to do it too

ToWhistleInTheDark

Interested in same Also, u/Eternal_Emphasis , what is the safety situation like in Peru in general? Better than MX/surrounding areas?

Kwilburn525

Thatā€™s pretty awesome ngl

dooms25

What did it say? It's deleted now

Matty-ice23231

Iā€™m not looking forward to that as my wife and I are going to Mexico next month.

vaporizz

Only the criminals with guns. Just how liberals like it lol

Igloo_dude

I very rarely leave the U.S., I carry my 19 everywhere. If Iā€™m feeling dangerous Iā€™ll carry my 320 so I can shoot my nuts off

Code3Warrior

"shoot my nuts off" šŸ¤£

ToWhistleInTheDark

Shoot them one at a time and you can have twice the fun!

Igloo_dude

Brave of you to assume I have two nuts

ToWhistleInTheDark

Two nuts LEFT I mean And two to the right, too Four total?

Igloo_dude

Yeahā€¦ yeah something like thatā€¦

koltz117

Wait till that one dude sees this who gets personally offended at sig jokes

Igloo_dude

I love my sig. Iā€™m a better shot with it than my glock. Iā€™ll admit they had some design flaws, but Iā€™ve loaded my sig, threw it at the ground several times and it didnā€™t go off (I know, bad safety practice). But letā€™s be real, thereā€™s a reason I carry my glock 90% of the time and leave the sig at home lol. Not taking a chance.

koltz117

Iā€™m just here for the sig jokes man

kcb331

I'm in the exact same boat. I shoot my 320RXP like Rob Leatham, but I carry my g19 EDC.

2tonerickybobby

Cheddar Bob flow

Away-Card-7596

Cheddar Bob is the new 320 model

Corked1

One that doesn't hurt as much if TSA loses it. Haven't lost one yet, but have had stuff stolen from my luggage with a gun in it. I have no faith in those low IQ, power hungry sloths.

Possible_Maximum_570

Is there compensation if it gets lost/stolen?

Corked1

Don't know. I would imagine so. They left the gun, but took pharmaceuticals, hair gel, a belt and a knife. I just filed a report, nothing came of it.

unit1080

Maybe if someone were to contact the ATF?

grow420631

You do need insurance on your firearm & to check it separately usually when traveling

ArunkOner

Iā€™ve never seen a requirement for insurance. There are FAA regulations, TSA rules, and Airline Policy. You have to satisfy all three, and probably educate some of the folks at the airport on their own rules. I always bring a folder with the relevant documents relating to each set of rules. Itā€™s a project.

NoTrack2140

The same one I carry every day šŸŒž

jwise0725

As it should bešŸ¤šŸ»

Killjoy1550

G48 MOS/EPS carry/TLR7sub/T1C holster. Using a Hunter Constantine belt, I can carry with gym shorts, which makes it a little bit more comfortable in this heat.

Big_Lab9951

How much more comfortable is the Constantine belt vs a normal stiff belt?

CarloDanger42069

It's been day and night for me

Killjoy1550

Itā€™s so much better. The versatility alone is enough for me to buy another one should I ever need it. I was hesitant on the price when first buying but itā€™s been amazing and itā€™s been a great upgrade for me. Very very comfortable compared to a stiff belt.

Big_Lab9951

I think I need it. I drive all day for work.. seems like a must

klepore123

If you drive all day for work, your life will be changed by switching to the Constantine Carry Belt

Jfragz40

Yā€™all mfā€™ers out here with ā€œvacationā€ pieces? Ha!

jwise0725

Personally mine is just my edc, but ā€œvacationā€ helps with post engagement lmao

Legitimate_Wave6107

You go on vacation?

Geoffman05

We usually take trips to places that donā€™t allow firearms by law or company policy (that we would actually give a damn about being banned from). If weā€™re doing a road trip or something I got my 43 tucked in the arm rest for easy on/off and comfort when carrying.

SuperRedpillmill

You people take vacations?

Gunsling3r1988

Smith and Wesson 3913 or Glock 17

Optimal-Flatworm8261

Same one I carry when not on vacay

northcoastjohnny

Glock g19gen5 with Buffalo bore 147 grain, hard cast fn , 1100 fps. Heading to MT backcountry. Bear spray #1, wifes Annie Oakley šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚ [Buffalo 9mm +P](https://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=388)

impreza_GC8

Side subject but how do you feel confidence-wise about carrying 9mm in bear country?

silver-shooter

I carried my g48 for a hot minute in Utah bear country, got chased/stalked by a bear for about 3 miles on an archery elk hunt. We knew he was there, and he wasnā€™t coming too hard and fast for us, but I immediately went and bought a 10mm. And that is just our little black bears.

northcoastjohnny

Bear spray option 1 and 2. Iā€™m confident in my response, that model, aim and the ability of that round to do what itā€™s built for.

WhoWasThatThere

For wildlife defense, with 9mm, I carry [Underwood 115grain +p+ Xtreme Penetrator.](https://underwoodammo.com/9mm-luger-plus-p-plus-115-grain-xtreme-penetrator/) The solid monolithic Lehigh bullet. Itā€™s 1,300fps at 465ft/lbs of energy. Is that a good wildlife defense round? Is the Buffalo Bore 147g +p mentioned above a better option? Would that be 1,100fps at 395ft/lbs of energy? I would purchase this [Underwood 147g +p+ FMJ](https://underwoodammo.com/9mm-luger-p-147gr.-full-metal-jacket-flat-nose-hunting-ammo/) if it were ever in stock. 147grains at 1,175fps at 451ft/lbs. Does the heavier 147g bullet at 395ft/lbs make a big enough difference over the 115g at 465ft/lbs? Iā€™ve never actually used my 9mm against an animal. I mainly walk my dog in rural areas and would take her with me when camping, and worry about my dogā€™s scent attracting predators and want to be able to protect here. Around here all I have to worry about is wild hogs, coyotes, unleashed and aggressive dogs, and maybe the occasional panther/couger/big cat. Wondering how well those 9mm options would perform against the animal threats listed above, but am also curious as to how well they would perform against larger threats like a bear or mountain lion. Iā€™d probably want to buy a Glock 20 and carry spicy wildlife specific 10mm Buffalo bore or Underwood if I was camping in an area full of dangerous predators for an extended period of time. But I doubt Iā€™ll be in that situation, Iā€™d probably camp out west for a week at most if I ever even did it. So realistically Iā€™d most likely carry my Glock 19 with whatever the best 9mm load there was for wildlife defense. I just canā€™t justify buying a 10mm for a niche situation if my 9mmā€™s would be enough.

northcoastjohnny

Take a look on the Buffalo bore page for this ammo for a lot of info. My homies in Idaho turned me onto these rounds. Again lots of details on penetration for thick bones critters, good background.

ExplicitBoricua

Usually my LCP Max for deep concealment, or my G48. My X Macro stays home (17rds/threaded barrel, blah, blah, blah). Still parts of my rotation and train with them regularly.

Hammerjammer1108

Ima receive hate for this but honestly Iā€™ve been traveling with my shield plus more than anything. Itā€™s real light and can carry in shorts. Donā€™t get me wrong I can carry my 47,19x or 43x but I pack light. Now I took my 19x with 19+1 when I traveled to Chicago this past year but every other place Iā€™ve traveled has been warm so itā€™s been my Shield plus.

patrikstars

What allowed you to travel to Chicago without a license? (Assuming you donā€™t have one, maybe wrong) I have family up there and would love to carry when I visit

Hammerjammer1108

I have a ccw from my home state and serval others. As long as you have one from the home state you can carry in your vehicle.

Bark_Bark_turtle

Hellcat micro for summer carry šŸ˜³

_Takesonetoknowone

You traveled to Chicago with a gun, legally? I didnā€™t think that was possible. Are you an Illinois resident?

Hammerjammer1108

Yes you can legally conceal carry a firearm in a vehicle if you have ccw permit from your home state. You can read it online.

Little_Fudge8053

Be careful, itā€™s only valid if youā€™re traveling THROUGH

Hammerjammer1108

Iā€™ll take my chances. Iā€™m not out there often was visiting family. Iā€™m not telling anyone to break the law but Iā€™m a rather be safe than sorry person. I respect everyoneā€™s personal decision but Iā€™m willing to take that risk traveling with my young children.

Little_Fudge8053

Your own chances is one thing, giving out false information is anotherā€¦

_Takesonetoknowone

Agreed, absolutely nothing wrong in my mind with choosing to carry in places you arenā€™t legally allowed to do so, but itā€™s another thing entirely to say, ā€œyes you can legally do soā€ when you cannot.

Hammerjammer1108

You asked if you can legally travel with a firearm which you can.

_Takesonetoknowone

Interesting! My understanding was that you could if you were just passing through Chicago without making any stops.

Little_Fudge8053

You are correct

Jjm211992

Typically try to go to 2A friendly destinations so Iā€™ll have my xmacro

True-Grapefruit4042

Im on vacation right now and carrying my G19.5 (as always) in a tenicor holster and Nexbelt. I am only wearing cargo shorts or Arrowhead Tactical shorts since itā€™s so hot.

xanomie

Hello fellow southpaw!

jwise0725

Greetings!

Personal-Ride-1142

Depends on where Beach during the day? Maybe a LCP Beach area at night? Glock 27 Mountains? Glock 27 with hard cast rounds Any big cities during nightlife hours.. Glock 19 with Glock 17 mag

Sub1Moa

I donā€™t go to any state that I canā€™t conceal carry a weapon. I live in Montana so I always have a 10mm in my truck for grizzlies or when Iā€™m hunting. I have a suppressed SBR in my camper with 10/22ā€™s for the kids. My EDC is either a macro or g19

Sub1Moa

Not at all. I live in MT which is one of the best places to fish and hunt, which my family enjoys the most. When they want to go to the beach or see Mickey we go to Florida. We just got back from 3 weeks in Europe so Iā€™m not afraid to travel without my EDC. I just try to avoid the places where I canā€™t carry. I have zero need to visit California or NY. Theyā€™re both shit holes, I was born in Cali and lived in NY so yeah, I can relate.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Sub1Moa

Truth be told - I carry a weapon in every state I go to. I just prefer to carry it on me vs in a lock box, in my vehicle and separated from my ammo. So let me edit what I said ā€œI try not to go anywhere without my EDCā€.

ToWhistleInTheDark

Can confirm on CA/NY shithole-ness, unfortunately they also have nice places to visit.

Sub1Moa

We still have a home in Santa Barbara and I do like to visit Cali - Yosemite, Santa Cruz, Tahoe mostly. I just hate to see the greatest state at one time totally destroyed from within.

StonerMinds123

You can conceal carry in florida..

jckbck

Love the OEM extended slide release

the-flying-lunch-box

Generally always. I rarely go to a state or country that doesn't allow carry.

boanerfard

Damn this looks a lot like my G19.5 but with a surefire instead of a TLR7A

tactical_vibrations

Same thing as every day šŸ¤™šŸ» Critical Duty. Nice. Did you know those in ā€œthe knowā€ call it Crit Doots?

ToWhistleInTheDark

So wait, what countries can we travel to from the US with our pew pews, and can legally carry there?

BoysenberryFuture304

I donā€™t travel guns are life

Yettigetter

45 for the City 10mm for Woods

Significant_Sort_410

Carbon copy of that except all black with a EPS green

FuryFoxPvP

Critical duties goated

Whiskyniner

LCR just like I do when I am not on vacation.

irvingzisman47

Driving: 13.7 and a Glock 17 Flying: normally to ca or ma. Nothing unfortunately

Kwilburn525

Glock 17 gen 3

jwise0725

Solid choice. Been wanting to try a gen 3

Kwilburn525

Get one bro this shit is amazing. Sold my Taurus after 7 months and got the Glock 17

jwise0725

Maybe after I get an rmr for this gun. Other than loads of ammo and training thatā€™s my priority is getting the slide cut for an optic

ANDROID1700

How long have u had the paint job and is this your edc?

jwise0725

About a week. Technically my edc yes; I canā€™t carry at my workplace but everywhere else it comes with me

ANDROID1700

Cool, been thinking about a painting on my frame just been nervous

Little_Fudge8053

Get an lcp max for your pocket at work

johnnymeena

What did you paint it with? Curious as Iā€™ve been wanting to do this.

jwise0725

Just rustoleum khaki

Independent-Soil3859

Just came back from Mexico yesterday and letā€™s just say I am glad I live in the us and can actually defend my self.

impreza_GC8

Glock 43 pocket carry

RealisticPayment975

G45 with Hornady critical duty.

NYDIVER22

I usually carry my 26 mos while traveling. But it usually has a grip sleeve with a 15+1 capacity or a 12+1 depending on the situation and clothing.

MGB1013

I usually bring two, G19 and lcp. I carry the 19 and keep the lcp for if Iā€™m walking out of the hotel/air bnb for something. I just like choices.

pos-civic

I brought my G26 and G43. I could have carried my 19, but didnā€™t want to sweat all over it. The G43 did well in my water proof fanny pack while kayaking or at the beach

HerbDaLine

I vacation in an oppressive state where they would arrest me if I had a gun.

Shuttle_Door_Gunner

Wait, people still get vacations?! What else haven't I been told?!

Miserable_Path5716

I usually bring two. My emergency/go-bag gun(Glock26.3) and my compact p320 with a manual safety.

PhoqueMcGiggles

All of them

KidBoomah

Usually, I'm on a cruise ship, but the two times I've gone out of state, I kept my 10mm S&W PC. Flat, accurate, and plenty of stopping power.

S280FiST15

I vacation with the same pistol I carry everyday. Why would it be any different? One gun one holster.

Ok_Complex4374

I carry everyday but my g19 is the one that comes with me when I go out of town itā€™s the one I trust the most to get me home

TexasGrillDaddyAK-15

Lol I carried the exact same thing on my vacation 2 weeks ago. Fde frame G19 (non MOS) x300 inside a TXC Ally holster with a G17 spare mag.

djb399

G26.5 MOS with FCD plate , RMR, and GPT is my dedicated travel carry

vaporizz

G17 as usual

Code3Warrior

Same thing I carry everywhere. Glock 43x MOS with a Holosun 507k in Tenicor Certum.

jonnyakiba

You guys are getting vacations?

danielrpo555

Either the 43x or the g19. Depends on what activities ill be doing.

ChemSkate

Usually my taurus 856 on me and my glock 19 in the car since I'm fishing alot on vaca.

Flat-Feedback-3525

Take a real vacation. From your worries/problems.

Beneficial-Ad4871

I carry that one Glock

phistaxesandfines

I bring both my 43x and 19

munchkinfunk

43x MOS

No_Composer_9594

Glock 29 better to stay ready then need to get ready

foundonthetracks

Snub .38 in the pocket.

Esoom87

My normal EDC, a Gunsite G45, and a rifle in my bag. Usually a 10.5 AR, unless I'm on my bike, then I have a 12in Draco with a side folder in my saddle bag.

xTHEGRASSMANx

I see you have a flat trigger on the Glock. How does it feel?

jwise0725

Feels great! I just got the trigger shoe but it decreases takeup quite a bit

Basskid88

Its a light with a gun attached lol jk nice setup. G30s for me.

alecubudulecu

Well. When I travel itā€™s usually to japan. Hard to bring a gun.

maverickfishing

I bring a g45. I always do my best to fly direct.

EasyCZ75

The same one I EDC - S&W Shield Plus

jaws843

If I ever got to go on vacation I would take my 43x mos. Same thing I carry everyday. I definitely wonā€™t carry something with a huge light on it. I would get a light that doesnā€™t stick out past the muzzle or dust cover for more comfortable carry. If my 43x wasnā€™t around I would take my stock gen 4 19. All it has is Glock night sights. Hides nicely.

Jamisonjimbob

Glock 43x the 10 rd magazines make it less complicated for some States

Big_Impress4210

How long do I have until mine starts fading like that

sumguyontheinternet1

Glock 26. Tried and true, legal in commiefornia

[deleted]

HK vp9

Casp710

G19 gen 3, does itā€™s job and isnā€™t too big.

styxofsteel

Big ass 21

Coffeeandsneakers3

Ruger LCP Max, itā€™s a lot to travel with my G19 edc cuz I have to pack my holster and a belt and all that stuff but I can just throw this right in my pocket

WhoWasThatThere

When traveling I CCW a Glock 43x with EPS Carry Green dot, the PSA 15rd mag with Federal HST 124grain +p or Underwood 115g or 124g +p+ hollow points. I have a couple of extra 15rd mags and OEM 10rd mags in my vehicle and bags, and I have a mag holder in case I ever feel like I need to carry an extra mag in some situation. But since Iā€™m usually traveling for business or vacationing itā€™s always in nice areas, so no need to strap up. I usually go with maximal concealment and light weight. No weapon mounted like, no bulky holster, and no mag sidecart for the holster. Just a slim AIWB holster and my 43x. If Iā€™m at the beach I donā€™t carry my pistol, or if Iā€™m somewhere touristy it is always a nice and upscale place, so I usually donā€™t even CCW at those places. I drive for most of my travels, so in my truck I have a Glock 19 MOS with Holosun SCS, TLR7A, and also use Federal HST 124g +p or Underwood 115grain/124grain +p+ hollow points, and keep a few extra mags in my truck. For vacationing in the wilderness I carry the Glock 19 above with the SCS, TLR 7a, and have my AIWB holster along in with an outside waistband holster for when Iā€™m camping and remote, and a magazine holster for 2 extra mags. I use wildlife defense rounds like the Underwood Extreme Penetrator +p+ and 147grain +p+ FMJ-FN. With a mag or 2 of 124grain +p/+p+ hollow points for human threats.

Mark7Point5

G43x when I took my family to Orlando as that was a 1 week trip, but decided on my LCP to my sister's wedding in Miami because I was there for just 2 days. Can't carry in Puerto Rico but that's fine as I grew up far from the dangerous San Juan metropolitan area and visit my family in the much safer countryside. And my wife is from northern Portugal where crime is so low everyone keeps their doors unlocked, keys in the car, and leave their shit on the beach to go have lunch.

Buddha23Fett

I carry my G45 almost exclusively.

Orthodoxy1989

The same thing I usually carry; my glock 30. But if I'm on a nature trail I'll go with my 21 or my Taurus 65

t691

Glock 48 mos and an MP5 in my briefcase

ignoreme010101

why would a vacation necessitate difference from regular EDC? dumb premise.

vansonmyfeet99

Glock 19.5 MOS all day everyday. Whether Iā€™m traveling alone or with my wife and kids I do whatā€™s necessary to conceal it.

jwise0725

Planning to get my slide cut for an rmr in a couple months. Itā€™s the only thing I feel like Iā€™m missing. Training with irons is good for marksmanship anyways in the meantime. What optic do you run?

vansonmyfeet99

I hope you go through Wage, heā€™s got the best turn around times and is praised here. It depends on my day, usually itā€™s my SCS. My other 19 is fitted with an Aimpoint Acro P2. If Iā€™m going to the city or going somewhere new I prefer the smaller footprint but if itā€™s familiar territory or somewhere that recognizes my CCW then itā€™s the Acro.

jwise0725

Sounds like a solid setup. And yeah was definitely going to go through wage. Iā€™d like to get top slide serrations too. Iā€™ve been looking at the Acro P2 and I canā€™t tell if itā€™ll feel too bulky or not compared to an rmr

vansonmyfeet99

Honestly people will say the P2 isnā€™t bulky but for my body type it is bro. I went chose it over the RMR because Iā€™m not bout to unmount to change the battery. Call it lazy or whatever but thatā€™s just me. Thatā€™s why my main carry since I work in health care and chase my kiddos around when Iā€™m not is my G19 with the SCS.

Gamefueldragon88

I carry those exact rounds and I have that trigger as well is it an overwatch TAC?

jwise0725

TAC and critical duty 124 gr + P

penisthightrap_

ngl, I don't hassle with carrying on vacation

SteveyCee

my hands are registered weapons, if I encounter ruffians whilst on vacation, I show them exactly what I learned during my 3wk trial at Tiger Schullmanā€™sā€¦havenā€™t traveled w a firearm tbh

Plenty-Ad-9337

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ man I tell gun owners all the time. Learn how to throw hands. That gun isn't always the answer , sometimes you gotta square upšŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø

SteveyCee

same here, I live in NJ and we just started carrying hereā€¦ppl are like ā€œIā€™m not scared anymore and etcā€, Iā€™m not scared in the first place. Treat ppl w respect, mind your own business and know how to handle yourself in case you need toā€¦99.99% youā€™ll have no problems!
