The boss fight isn't completely representative of their fight. Kratos fights both times mostly using his fists and the Leviathan. And, no, Ganon isn't the same way. The Master Sword is needed but Kratos can just brute force his way to victory like he did both times against Baldur

It's all part of a very strict mythic cycle, it will repeat until eternity because the three parts of the Triforce are never destroyed, only separated. It _has_ to happen this way.
That's why I think there are some things Kratos needs to do before being able to fight Ganon, and it may be more or less difficult.
Once Kratos is ready, of course, Ganon gets destroyed easily, there's no question about that.

I told the Zelda group the same thing. I don't think Kratos ever has Holy elemental weapons or magic, and that's the only thing that kills Dorf. Sure he has a lot of godly weapons throughout the series, but it has to be Holy weapons. That being said, how many people have survived a fight with Kratos that you could say are winners? Even Baldur gets his ass kicked every time. He'd turn Dorf into a bruised lump of flesh every time he gets up

He swam thru the Styx I think he'll tank it. Most he'll be sent to a different realm and show up a week later, with countermeasures to those arrows. Light arrows might be a problem if his sins still count.

I told the Zelda group the same thing. I don't think Kratos ever has Holy elemental weapons or magic, and that's the only thing that kills Dorf. Sure he has a lot of godly weapons throughout the series, but it has to be Holy weapons. That being said, how many people have survived a fight with Kratos that you could say are winners? Even Baldur gets his ass kicked every time. He'd turn Dorf into a bruised lump of flesh every time he gets up

God Of War 3 Kratos has significantly more divine magical Items at his disposal one of which (BoO) is arguably just as deadly or even more so than the Master sword. Kratos makes more hot headed decisions sure but he is still a legendary spartan that I'd argue is only slightly less resourceful but 100% more versatile and agile than Ragnarok Kratos and is still relatively similar in physical strength.

In a lot of Zelda timelines, ganon can only be harmed by the master sword - simler to Baldur , and he would shrug off any blows from anything else. Ganon is basically a big "Mary sue" - unless you have and can use the master sword . The master sword in question, In most timelines, can choose if you can use it or not - it kinda deems if you are worthy or not. I think it would be a longshot for kratos to even get the master sword - link is no slouch after all. Even if kratos did somehow get the master sword - I find it very unlikely that the master sword would choose to work for kratos considering all the shit he has done. Which leads to a simler situation of Kratos having to fight Baldur but with no mistletoe. While I think kratos is probably a better combatant than ganon - he wouldn't be able to finish him off without a working master sword - and ganon would eventually outlast him. Ganon wins - but purely on the basis of him basically being an unkillable "Mary sue" without the master sword.

For example, the incarnation of Ganondorf is important, and where in the story this incarnation is. Will it be a head on battle, or will ganondorf do a OoT and try and wiggle his way in kratos good graces before attempting to take over. It is a fun idea to think about though, I give you that OP.
