Grail watch, no doubt. And a great way to commemorate your retirement. Congratulations.

Congratulations on your beautiful new SBGA413 (Shunbun). The Shunbun is one of my favorite Grand Seikos; it's an amazing watch!

Amazing! I saw it in the store and didn’t look pink at all. Is it supposed to come out in certain light? https://preview.redd.it/bsocehmxeh9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9cb375b25f037a497d8f7d832c95611de59dcdf5

Yes. Under the bright lights in a Grand Seiko Boutique, you don’t see much of the cherry. But I find that as I walk around the house, from room to room, the varying light does cause the dial to show itself off!

Thank you! I’m going to pick it up tomorrow then! I didn’t see any of the cherry and didn’t get it. I think how it changes, but didn’t see the pink come out.

It is subtle. The cherry springs out only in the right conditions, which suits me. At a glance, in “clinical” lighting, you’d think it’s white. To me, it also wins in terms of the texture of the dial. If you simply want a pink dial, this one may not be for you.

Most of the time it looks white and in certain much less often it looks pink? I think that would make it more useful in everyday wear, but wanted a different color watch.

This is so moving and beautiful. I think it’s telling how these watches can hold so much. They have the soul to reflect milestones, relationships, the people we strive to be. I’m sure that would seem crazy to some, but I understand it completely. Every time I wear my GS, a part of me will think about picking it out with my wife on our anniversary in Japan. Congrats on your retirement and a moment well earned.
