The last few major updates for darktide has really made it better. It's still lacking in some ways, but it is much closer to what I expected of it now.
There needs to be more maps. Same thing over and over and over, they are GOOD maps, but you do so much better putting new ones out from time to time.
There also needs to be more classes.
The developer doesn't seem to understand that if you don't ride the wave you get left behind.
Did you ever hear the Tragedy of Konrad Curze the Night Haunter? I thought not. It's not a story the Imperium would tell you. It's a Chaos legend. Konrad Curze was a Primarch of the Night Lords, so powerful and so ruthless, he could use fear and terror to control entire star systems. He had such a knowledge of the dark arts, he could foresee the fate of those around him...and manipulate it. He became so feared, the only thing he was afraid of was his own demise...which, inevitably, came to pass. Unfortunately, he taught his sons everything he knew. Then his own legion betrayed him and abandoned him to his doom. Ironic. He could foresee the death of others...but not his own.
It’s both almost certainly. Legend of total war’s reliable insiders didn’t cover the Star Wars game but they did directly confirm not only the existence of 40k total war but that it’s progressing rapidly and I think he said it’s almost feature complete.
The starting factions are Space Marines, Orks, Eldar, and Chaos Marines if it is to be believed and will be released sometime in the next 2 years or so, which does line up with another new leak that states that Total War Warhammer 3 only has about another 1.5-2 years of support.
Additionally they confirmed that the WW1 game also exists but has hit bad roadblocks and budget bloat and such due to it being developed on a new engine which I believe 40k will use as well to help support the massive leap in gameplay design needed to do 40k Justice.
Star Wars I imagine is in early conceptual stages and barely starting development. I just don’t see them leaping over 40k to do Star Wars when a lot of the same rigging and animation, art, and many other things can be ported into 40k from fantasy, like orks. Orks basically just need some slightly different armor and guns, and some vehicles and the faction is done.
I also find it hard to believe that the Star Wars game has been completely hidden for *this* long, if we were to imagine it’s nearly completed. The 40k total war game has been sort of an assumed and almost open secret I think amongst the community and CA and it’s more of a when not an if that it gets announced probably within a year.
All of this to say I am slightly coping and hoping that 40k is first but there does seem to be genuine evidence of such, it just sort of makes logical sense to move from fantasy with its smaller but now bolstered and fanatical fans and open them up to 40k and then begin gathering all of those fanatical 40k fans who will buy literally anything 40k.
Edit: for clarification I would adore Star Wars TW and that would be baller as hell, I just want 40k WAY more.
