Favorite weapon is probably Junkyard Dog. The lighter design is super fucking cool and shows a side of Sol that, to me, is really interesting. Plus any weapon that loads “cartridges” into it automatically gets extra points from me. Least favorite would probably be Kliff’s oversized butter knife. Doesn’t exude any personality or give an insight into his character. It exists as a novelty for novelty’s sake. And in a series where people are using giant anchors, blade-size changing scythes, coffins with aliens in them, shadow monsters, and your literal hair, Kliff’s weapon is kind of just there.

Cat_the_Girl

Kliff's sword is reminiscent of his character, the fact that it's old fashioned is because *he's* old fashioned (and just old). A novelty sword for a novelty man. Also, that blade was used to kill a dragon. If I killed a dragon, I'd keep that thing on me just to flex.

CoffeeMain360

Weapons that you load cartridges in like that are so fuckin cool I really love gunblades like Squall's/what Gunbreakers use, the ones that use the cartridge to make the blade cut better shits so fuckin badass and i want one so damn badly

Swift_Scythe

Or Potemkin's Gungloves. He reloads them in his victory animation back in GGX

Jigdakm

My favorites are Ram’s swords. They’re basically dual giant gunblades, and I think that is SUPER sick. Honorable mentions go to Millia’s hair and Goldlewis’s sarcophagus on a chain with an alien inside. I mean, what’s not to like about that? Least favorite? Uhhh probably Happy Chaos’s gun. Afaik it’s just a regular gun. Nothing particularly cool about its design and I dislike being zoned by it from fullscreen.

Narit_Teg

HCs guns are pretty interesting design wise, as far as guns are concerned.

Jigdakm

I actually just took a closer look at crescent moon on google images lol. I don’t disagree with you, it is an interesting design for a gun. It’s really hard to notice any of its details in the context of playing the game unfortunately.

CoffeeMain360

SIX BLACK HEAVENS GUNS

DeWarlock

Oh wait, I just realized that song is about HC's gun(s)

CoffeeMain360

I dunno if it's specifically about his gun and the others in all dimensions, but i think it actually is.

Rat_fucker_42069

I think the one HC has is just a replica of one of those six correct me if im wrong tho

BunnyWifALaptop

He has two guns, one is the real one, the other is a replica. He only uses the replica to shoot.

Halo_Chief343in

Except for **DEUS EX MACHINA**

Rat_fucker_42069

Ah shit right I forgot Deus Ex Machina exists and he actually has two guns. So one replica, one of the six guns and the other 5 are scattered through the dimensions.

Dastankbeets1

I love big chunky revolvers

CoffeeMain360

Chunky revolvers are something i fucking LIVE FOR If i could i would have a hand cannon from the destiny games

Dastankbeets1

Revolvers that have semi-realistic looking handles and barrels but the rest of them are practically fucking rectangular go so hard. Shoutout to Ultrakill and Billy thé Kid from ZZZ

achedsphinxx

reminds me of vash's gun.

bunnthefair

I wanted to. Play Ram when I played guilty gear for the first time. I think her design is very stylish and imposing. The swords are pretty unique despite the fact that they make me have a stroke in the corner. They remind me of crossbow/throwing weapon mechanics from other games. You know, you have to pick up the weapon that does a lot of damage before using it again?

Cratersmash

"For his neutral special, he wields a gun"

Mr_Ruu

Funnily enough, that's why I like HC's weapon: it's literally *just a gun*. Granted, some magic properties, but it's still just a bog-standard gun. It fits with how Happy Chaos operates: dude can literally level the entire cast and then some, but chooses to gimp himself by using a gun (that he, by self-admittance, has zero skill with) because he finds it more entertaining than if he were to simply eradicate everyone with his omnipotent powers.

Independent_Mud_4963

if you've seen the concept art, its one of the most nonsense gun designs from a practical point of view the drum is close to the end of the barrel which would massively decrease accuracy since there's way less barrel for the bullet to travel it's got both a revolving drum with 6 shots *and* a 1 bullet mag in the handle it's got a slide despite being a revolver and (speculation entirely based on how the gun works when playing them, i haven't paid that close attention to the fire animation yet) a release trigger its an overengineered nonsensical stupid gun and yet it perfectly makes sense that chaos would wield the replica and not its godgun magic original

horseduckdotmpeg

Happy chaos don’t even got a Glock. 0/10

Munin7293

While the gun itself is meh, I think the thing he does in story mode where he uses magic to make bullets out of the same material/magic/whatever as Nago's regeneration preventing sword is cool as hell

melodium_

mhm mhm yup regular gun that only a few of exist in the entire multiverse and he has one and *doesn't use it,* opting to use a replica that i'm convinced doesn't actually shoot bullets and he's using magic to *pretend* to

[deleted]

I’m the complete opposite. I think it’s cool and hilarious that there’s gigantic gun blades, two ton M60s, (a fucking magic yo-yo, seriously?) a fox spirit, giant scythes but happy chaos just pulls out the future equivalent of a magnum.

KerryAtk

I'm still a personal fan of Order Sols weapon of choice since its just a god damn slab of concrete he picked up and found. However I actually hate Kliffs sword, since it looks like a oversized chef's knife and I just can't like it.

bunnthefair

So pretty much Cloud's Buster Sword?

KerryAtk

Yeah, its just a worse buster sword due to how fucking huge the blade is compared to the handle.

CoffeeMain360

I want a Guilty Gear anime or something (if that exists please tell me) or at least a clip of Sol going "Behold, my stuff"

Dastankbeets1

Thé mechanical detailing on Ram’s swords are awesome, especially the way they mimick the shape language of katanas, The detail on Nagoriyuki’s sword handle and the way it locks into the sheath is also sick. I think Bridget’s yo-yo is seriously underrated, it looks really cool to me and the technical chunkiness contrasts nicely with the softness of the rest of Bridget’s design. I also love her animations with it- the hits of the Yo-yo lack impact, but it’s meant to be a light weapon, and her athletic dance performance with it is really expressive and fun to look at imo.

LuRo332

I love when Bridget walks in Strive its like she's walking a pet. Also, the fact that she can drive on that yoyo is sick.

Dastankbeets1

Yuss

EinotWhyNot

The walking yo-yo thing is actually a real yo-yo trick called "walk the dog"! So are some of her other moves like Loop-the-Loop, Stop and Dash, Kickstart my Heart, and etc! Without Roger and looking completely different*

PeeInAJar1234

My favorite is either A.B.A's key or Goldlewis's coffin. They both ooze personality because both are sentient and I love cool sentient weapons Least favorite is either Chipps armblade or Johnny or Baikens swords. There just boring weapons, but there's nothing wrong with them. I like every guilty gear weapon to some extent

Jigdakm

I was thinking Baiken’s sword is very generic too, but she does also have the mechanical arm going for her

bunnthefair

Baiken has a massive ensemble of weapons. A chain, a flintlock, a katana, a flail, etc. I think her diversity puts her above a lot of the cast. It kind of reminds me of D&D fighters.

KuroUsyagi

Hsien-Ko energy

Saqvobase

The coffin is so badass. Plus aliens. The literal area 51

bunnthefair

I actually kind of like Johnny's sword. It's completely a flashy weapon and is kind of impractical. It appears to be made to be a conceal carry blade. It feels like a mall ninja weapon, which gives Johnny that overly bombastic attitude he has. He could settle for a weapon that's more functional, but no- he *has* to look cool.

DeWarlock

Ummm...Johnny's sword was a real historical thing lmao

Blackshadowspon

As someone with a passing interest in firearms Happy Chaos' guns **infuriate** me /hj. Legit like at least half of it is just useless metal weighing it down, the firing mechanism has to be a nightmare, and the cylinder is put so far up the gun that the barrel length is only like half an inch lol. Before anyone mentions magic, I know I just don't care, overanalyzing things is fun. in terms of favorite I would have to say Milia's hair.

[deleted]

gunbros when the character whose sole life purpose is pissing about and having fun has a gun that's intentionally showoff-ey and impractical

Charnerie

It's worse, only one of them was made by Chaos. The other, which the second was based on, is an artifact and still looks dumb.

[deleted]

tfw the magical gun from the borderlands dimension that manifests pentagrams and summoning circles doesn't look like a cop revolver from 1954 why are gun people like this

[deleted]

oh shit I never even looked, bro got the reverse bullpup, that bullet must have no velocity, or it tumbling lol

Mr_Ruu

Considering HC gimps himself on purpose to draw out more entertainment, it seems on brand for him to use a gun that's also unwieldly to make it more "challenging" for him.

yaboioioioioioi

Is this just gonna be a gag where you always find some way to shit on bridget 😭

daawn52

can we have shit on bridget saturdays 🙏

CoffeeMain360

no, you will not shit on the little one. she is under my protection. NOW JUMP BEFORE ME.

zedzilliot

I mean other than being actually good trans representation shes pretty uninteresting for a guilty gear character

thirdMindflayer

She all about making them racks she’s got no time for character arcs

yaboioioioioioi

Oh I agree she's not interesting at all, but every post this dude has made has been shitting on bridget

bunnthefair

Saying I don't like bridget's design isn't shitting on her 😔

KoS_7

>Bridg mr redditor mr redditor can the next post be about something completely random like "what guilty gear foods look the most tasty" and then just finish with something about how bridget is the worst lmao

AbiMaeve

oh wait damn it's just been the same guy for all these posts I was wondering why the consistency of these random posts lmao

TallaFerroXIV

Yeah, makes me never want to praticipate in discussion of my char in most spaces. Like, yeah, I get it, y'all hate her. Guess I'll have to just enjoy the character on my own.

yaboioioioioioi

No one hates her she's just kinda boring compared to the rest of the cast (mainly cause she doesn't get a chance to have much character development due to being irrelevant to the story)

PuddingImpressive810

Don't take it so personal my brother

AdreKiseque

Yo-yo slander smh Btw it's the Thunder*seal*

bunnthefair

I'm sorry I forgor

highbringer666

i personally love potemkin since his wrist gun things are badass

evencrazieronepunch

GYORDAI IMPACTO

Sporelover105

My favorite weapon is definitely Venom's pool cue. Not only is he one of the coolest characters in fighting game history but also one of the most unique characters I've ever come across. Nothing screams badass more than a mysterious assassin who is able to manipulate billiard balls. It is incredibly cool that you can control Venom's netrual depending on where you place the billiards and how they ricochet across the screen. Not to mention that you can control the momentum too. Venom is definitely one of the coolest executed characters I've seen in a fighting game and the pool cue is perfection. My runner-up goes for A.B.A. I found Paracelsus as a giant key axe pretty damn hilarious while adding a Halloween factor since A.B.A. is technically Frankenstein in nature. It's like she found her own personal bodyguard to help keep her company. I love his googly eyes and stitched mouth. Praying that these guys come to Strive soon! As for my least favorite, Kliff's Dragonslayer. While I am aware of the lore behind it, the design doesn't match the description. I find the design and lore behind it painfully generic and cliche. The sword looks pretty cheap in nature and the weight is off and doesn't flow smoothly. That giant blade could fall off at any moment. The wooden crossguard and handle throws it off entirely.

bunnthefair

I like billiards irl so the theming of Venom is awesome to me. It's even more unconventional than Bridget's yo-yos but executed a million times better. Also, Venom just looks and behaves way cooler than Bridget too. I want him in GGST so bad.

GuyMontag95

Ramlethal’s swords are so cool. They are big as hell first off, then they break into a cannon to fire lasers, and **then** you realize she doesn’t even use the actual blades of it until her instant kill. I remember using the model viewer at times to just stare at them. Sin’s flag is also really good, but I didn’t really like it until Strive. The way that fabric flows when he does his combos is magical. I’m glad they were finally able to achieve that with this game. It has also has a funny lore behind it. The Bedframe is fucking amazing. It’s like a transforming mecha and a horror monster at once. It makes the simply designed bed siblings stand out in a great way by taking up most of the screen. Least favorite? I guess Axl if I have to say something. It’s weird that a guy that doesn’t like death or killing is using long range blades. Doesn’t feel fitting.

thirdMindflayer

If it counts, probably Bed since it was just a robot in Xrd. If not, probably either I-no’s guitar, Axl’s sickles or Asuka’s book just because they’re all so cool

bunnthefair

I mentioned this in another post, but the Bed deserves style points. Its design actually makes me feel uncomfortable and uneasy. It's kind of like how seeing the maw of a whirling machine or woodchipper would make you uneasy.

bostonian38

KABARI *fshing* KABARI

Stokz_Craft

I like bridget's yoyos quite a lot (because i'm a very big fan of yoyos myself). They can float, serve as a way to move around and they look cool. My favorite weapon is testament's scythe tho, it just looks very cool and very powerful

MetaPop567

There's something about the most anti-death character in Guilty Gear using sickles that makes me happy

Obl1v1on390

I think lore wise it’s Happy Chaos’s guns. Supposedly it’s a gun made by an all powerful entity and it has unmatched power that can kill/hurt any being. Only 5 were made in the entire universe and he has one of them. But you might be thinking, you’ve stated that only one of his guns is this super weapon but doesn’t he have two of them. Well here’s the thing about the other one… it’s a fake

bunnthefair

Thank you for clarifying, Rad Chad.

acceptable_enough

Probably Goldlewis’s coffin. It’s great on its own, but seeing the concept art where it was at one point a missile, and learning that the design got *more* unhinged instead of less makes me love it. Special mention to Zappa and Slayer even though they don’t really use weapons. I just like that with Zappa they found a way to make spectral possession into a move set. And Slayer’s just cool for being like “I’ll fight these swords with my fists because I’m bored.” Worst? Maybe Chipp’s arm blade (which I just learned is apparently called the gauntlet blade) just because I often forget he has it.

dark_holes

Coolest weapon? Gold swinging around a coffin containing an actual alien that he denies exists Least cool weapon? Ky’s normal sword (idgaf about the lore here it’s a blue sword) Honorary mention to i-no fighting with a guitar

SilverGaming456

Best are prob ram swords and all of sols weapons, worst is probably chipp

Poulutumurnu

The Bridget hater strikes again

NajimiAppreciator

A man of the people

tallmantall

I love all the wacky stuff Millia’s hair and Eddie doo, such silly animations that look good

ViewtifulJam

Baiken's arm cannon is why I play the character. I don't think that it's the best weapon design but it deserves a mention.

Former-Special4978

I like asuka's gravity staffs. They look cool juar wish they lasted longer

internetdweller19

I like how clean Nago’s swords are

ShanMeMan

bed counts as a weapon right. im going with bed

AbiMaeve

Bridget's yoyos are hella cool imo due to the concept of magical yoyos just rather neat. I find it a lot more interesting than a basic sword or anchor. I still gotta go with I-no for favorite though, love a woman who hits people with a guitar

bigfrickenhorse

day like 10 of this guy posting bridget hate

mamamarty21

I’m a big fan of Ram’s thighs… I mean swords. Ram’s swords

JagoMajin

If she kicks, the thighs are considered weapons too

mamamarty21

You make a very solid point

MrASK15

Thunderbrand? What is this, Fire Emblem? /jk Jokes aside… Top Favorite: Sol’s Junkyard Dog Mk.III Least Favorite: Chipp’s arm blade (sorry, Mr. President…)

TAB_Kg

Sol's outrage mk.2 is one of my favorite swords period

Am-pr

A destroyed and malfunctioning mechanical bed that's "fighting heedless of its own destruction" is pretty fucking metal to me

Venoxz123

A gun.

PlasmaLink

Does Kum count as a weapon?

sharknipples420

Obviously a bit biased, but the giant Blood Scythe is so fucking rad. Goldie’s coffin is way too cool not to mention and I-No beating people with a guitar is cool as fuck too.

Phernaside

Scythes are generally terrible irl as weapons, but like....Bridget has a fucking yoyo, bro. A yoyo.

bunnthefair

I think Bridget is the weakest character in guilty gear lore if I'm not mistaken. Might have something to do with the fact that she uses yoyos as a weapon.

GuyMontag95

I would say that would go to Zappa. At least Bridget can defend herself and shown to be crafty enough to take advantage of other’s weaknesses. Zappa is just a victim.

AkfurAshkenzic

Gosh we get it, you get hard constantly posting shit on Bridget. Just please for God's sake just calm down a moment on it.

bunnthefair

I dedicate like 3 or 4 lines of text for Bridget. The rest is talking about what I like.

urbandeadthrowaway2

She’s not weak, it’s just hard to keep up with Gears, guys armed with the US military industrial complex, magic users, ki, and Potemkin.

bunnthefair

Baiken has a sword

urbandeadthrowaway2

She also has a gun, a grappling hook, a tatami mat, and a burning desire for revenge (until another story)

am_sphee

didn't she at separate points canonically hold up against a duel with sol, ky, and johnny?

its-4-russi4n-t4unt

Hard to say because her storymodes are in dubiously canon games. In the GGXX storypaths that are probably canon to her story, the people she fights against are taken by surprise and simply do not want to fight her (Ky and Dizzy). In the games that are 100% canon (Vastage and Strive) it’s been established that the characters she does fight hold back against opponents in duels (Sol and Ky respectively).

bunnthefair

Nope

Inevitable-Will-6185

The favorite? Definitely Junkyard Dog. The worst? Definitely Bridget's yoyos

MR_MEME_42

Every Weapon is so cool it is hard to pick a favorite but my least is May's anchor it's just an anchor with nothing special about it. The only thing interesting is small girl with big weapons that is all.

MOEverything_2708

Honestly my fav doesn't come from strive cuz it's elphelt's guns. For some reason i love angular and stocky gun designs and it hits just right for me, plus they're better than chaos' cuz they're pink My least fav would also have to be from Xrd and it's raven's fucking finger spikes. Just... why But if we're only limiting ourselves to strive, then I guess fav would be Nago's sword because of the "buckle" it has to fully attach to the scabbard (and 2nd fav HAS to go to testament's scythe), and least fav I'd have to say leo's... whatever those are

Gooper221

Favorite goes to Faust's giant scalpel because tiny scalpels hurt enough, now imagine a giant one just grazing your skin. Let alone stabbing you. Least favorite I don't know Bridget's yoyos, those are pretty lame. They're toys

Chiffonades

Faust is both my favorite and least favorite, it’s kind of a dumb oversized medical tool but the way Faust uses it oozes personality, using it as a Pogo stick, fishing rod, spinning around on it etc. the fact that a lot of his moves make it feel heavy gives it a lot of character it otherwise wouldn’t have if he just used it like a spear.

JagoMajin

He gives me Yoshimitsu vibes, and that's neat

Necessary_Bison_5184

Well technically yoyos didnt start as toys they're based off a hunting tool used in some areas

DankerTron2

Favourite is probably Leo's dual cross blades. Those are pretty sick Least favourite is probably Anjis sensu's because that's literally all they are. At least Kitana from MK has blades at the end of her sensu's

Thin-Gene-2128

Honestly? Faust. IDK if that’s a hot take or not but I liked his older suits more than what he has right now

ValeM1911

Sir we are talking about weapons

Thin-Gene-2128

…so I might have missed the “weapons” part in the title cuz I’m kinda dumb

MrSnak3_

Best AND worst is the concrete slab of a weapon Order Sol uses. It’s just some big ass man made rock he slams people over the head with

Puzzleheaded-Fix2349

Asuka’s staff

Munin7293

Bridget's yo-yo literally is a revolver drum. There are bullets inside it with text stating they're bullets MADE for yo-yos. And that just. Never gets touched on, in her moveset or otherwise My favorite weapon is probably the tome of origin, especially the form it takes as Asuka's staves, where the hands used to hold weapons or make strikes in his normals wrap around eachother to form circles and grasp a simple pole. Don't think I can point out any as my definitive least favorite, though not a fan of Venom's pool cue, and really wish Leo used his metal magic more on his swords and that Ram ever unsheathed her swords

raivin_alglas

Nobody mentioned Holy Order Sol's cool **rock** that he carries around?

Desperate_Drama3392

Leo's sword thing, Bridget's yo-yo, Ram swords, Baiken's Tatami

BetterCloneAlt

Coffin

SunnyDeeeeeeeeee

The ThunderSeal and Outrage Mk.II are some of my favorites but I think Sin’s flag is gonna take it for me. The story behind why he uses it is funny and it makes him instantly stand out from the rest of the cast as well as facilitating his one of a kind play style.

Easily-distracted14

I love Chipps arm blade and I think arm blades in general are sick as hell. Chipp in particular is cool though because he actually fights with it like it's an Impractical arm blade unlike Strider who wields his like a short sword which is kinda cheating if you ask me. Still love Strider though

Able_Conclusion3128

Guilty Gear weapon design really is underrated now that you mention it. They made potemkins gauntlet that shoots explosive s just as cool as a man wielding a pool stick 😂 My favorite has to be Raven, the claws just match his un-sane attitude 100/100

ProfesserQuacks

Honestly my favorite might be sin's flag in strive, it fits his character so perfectly. The flow it adds to his animations, the idea that he is specifically using it to be flashy, the fact that it is literally just a flag and sin is basically hitting you with a less effective stick. It's perfect for him. If I had to pick a least favorite it would be baiken's sword I guess? It's the least interesting part of her arsenal but also she couldn't really have any other weapon.

Color-Me-Brackets

Favorites: \- A.B.A's sentient key-axe (Paracelsus/Flament Nagel) \- Goldlewis's coffin (and the alien buddy inside) \- Faust's scalpel \- Kliff's Dragonslayer They're all some flavor of goofy lmao. Para and the coffin also have personalities of their own, which is a plus. Various spins on the concentrated essence of **BONK™** **Not a huge fan (I don't really "dislike" or "hate" any of them):** \- Ram's swords \- HC's Crescent Moon (Gun\[s\]) A bit... *much* for my taste. And blocky.

Gymlosh

Easy peasy, Faust spear thats actually a fishingrod thats actually a golfclub. You can Close the thread now.

wheremylukecostume

Insulting the buster and master sword is something i absolutely cannot get behind.

bunnthefair

Weep.

GrimoireOfAlice

I started serious... And got silly... Sorry. Iconic: Thunderseal/Fireseal Your immune system manifesting as reflections of your mother and father. Great: Testament's scythe Nagoriyuko's Katana Baiken's Multiple Weapons Jack-o's own children Goldlewis's basically wielding american tendancy for obsession with conspiracies as a weapon. Happy Chaos's Guns Good: Bridget's Yoyo May's Anchor Emphelt's Guns Ramlethal's Swords Junkyard Dog Kliff's Dragonslayer Asuka's Staff S-ko using the body of some boy she found. Shadows have rights too. Neutral: Chipp's armblade Valentine's Balloon Faust's scalpel Tangled 2: This time she wants blood. Eh: Johnny's Katana Aba's Key

holgrim

Favourites gotta be the goldlewis coffin and elphelt guns Least favourite is problably kliff's dragonslayer or leos swords, the fact they look like crosses is cool but thats about all they got going for them

JagoMajin

Jack-O's walking around with a leg iron attached to her ankle like an escaped inmate and hitting people in the head with it whenever she kicks, not just any leg iron, but it's also a robot head designed like a jack-o-lantern that can swallow entire people whole. Can't say I've seen anything like it anywhere else
