If i read it correctly, DNF Duel was never made to succeed. Nexon put a lot of money into DNF Duel as basically a marketing stunt to further promote their Dungeon & Fighter online game. They didn’t even plan for any additional DLC or Season Pass because, as said, it shouldn’t have been more than just an expensive ad. But after the game garnered some surprising attention in the EVO scene, they decided to add some DLC‘s in afterall. That’s why Guilty Gear finished it’s 3rd season while DNF Duel only finished it’s first.
Mannnn, this is both scummy AND dumb. The kind of player that each game caters towards is so vastly different from each other (A fighting game with a gimmick around MP skills VS a MMORPG that doubles as a throw back to the beat'em up games of the old) that trying to use one to boost the player base of the other feels completely nonsensical since it's very likely that the few who do decide to give DnF a shot will quit the game after playing it until level 30 or so and deciding it's not their thing.
The South Koreans say that practice is pretty common there. I admit, i tried D&F after DNF Duel because i *loved* the unique playstyle of Duel and wanted to give the OG game a try too, only to find out that yes, not really my taste. Which makes me even more sad as a DNF Duel enjoyer
Man i love dnf and its kusoge gaming. I am not sure if its worth buying a battlepass on a game where i can only play it if the people to ask on discord are awake.
Am I the only one who finds the size of the breast of those anime characters a bit ridiculously unrealistic? There are women with breasts of that size and even bigger, but usually, those women are also fatter.
Really thin women have smaller breasts. And this one is not even the worst example I've seen.

I swear with the amount of times I’ve seen the: “I’d play DnF if it was active” comment, the game could actually be active.
I get that the game kinda fell off pretty quickly with no communication or support until a while later, but it just seems that everyone’s excuse to not play now is, “nobody else is.”
Well, yeah? I'm not sure what you'd expect lol. I can't just say "hey everyone, let's all play the game" and make the player count magically get higher. If there's no one playing for me to match with then ofc I won't play it.
Or we all recognize there will be a decent sized player base once we all individually agree to play the game. You don’t have to get other people to play the game, all that matters is you, the person reading this, plays the game. If only 10 people all individually decide to play despite the low active player count, the game doubles in size, does it not?
It's *really* sad how DNF was handled, considering it had the potential to be, at the very worst, fun side-game for a lot of players to enjoy. I used Dragon Knight and absolutely loved how free-form she was, and while balance wasn't perfect with characters like Swiftmaster (at the time), what fighting is? Especially at launch.
The slow dlc release and balancing really killed what little hype DNF had started out with, and while Capcom can afford to have 3 characters dominate the meta for year (due to Street Fighter being the most sustainable fighting game and Capcom Cup's prize money keeping top shelf players active) and Tekken 8 can weather some harsh criticism (because there's really no other 3D fighters out there nowadays), Nexon needed to handle DNF with near perfect precision...which they totally did not.
DNF and Undernight 2 (because, *wow*, where did that game go?) are some of the most unfortunate fighters this past year.

I played a bunch of DFO but not DNFD but yeah I would not be surprised, if DFO still got more players than DNFD.
It's a just a way to expand the series. Like Guilty Gear has a rpg beat em up too.
