Every time I win a round with Axl the announcer goes "Slash!" but i don't see him anywhere. Must be a bug or something

not_all_kevins

reminds me of how Conan O'Brian's show had a running joke where anytime they would show a URL on screen instead of a / it would be a little picture of Slash. That should be a PC mod where a picture of Slash pops up when the round ends.

M_toi

Bro are you a fucking genius

NEONT1G3R

Unannounced dlc

ProxyDamage

He doesn't even single "Welcome to the jungle" or "sweet child 'o mine". What a waste .

GIVE THIS MAN SOME GOLD. SOMEBODY. PLEASE\~

AlisaTornado

Typical G&R

Ryumi678

Each Full Combo only nets you one Perfect? What a strict rhythm game...

Incendia123

Man some people just take mosh pits to far.

DiamondPup

Potemkin player here. There is no neutral, only mosh.

thejonslaught

It’s FISTing time!

SGSMUFASA

Honestly as a long time fg player but first time gg player this makes so much sense lol

D3dshotCalamity

Worst Mumford & Sons concert ever.

BenjaminCarmineVII

whoa I forgot about mumford & sons *shudder*

smiling_samurai7

Same honestly. I was playing this black Japanese jazz musician named Nagoriyuki, but for some reason he plays a katana, not a guitar, and if he plays too many notes, his blood pressure rises, so the other player has to give him a pill, but for some reason they hand that pill over pretty violently. Like, with weapons and stuff.

[deleted]

I appreciate this so much. Than you for the smile.

bite_teh_dust

Literally unplayable

Elfinary_

Wait wasn't this a fishing game?

WholesomeCurbstomp

WTF? Why do they make the complete anime series even available for purchase when they upload every episode on their own youtube channel for free? This is Bullshit BLAZING!

aigiswav_

You can watch the whole story mode online? That’s kinda lame for the people who bought strive with the story mode being one of the reasons.

ZachityZach

Wait till you find out about TV and movie piracy

Beholdmyfinalform

I'd like to issue my condolences to anyone who spends £40 for a five hour cutscene

Penzed

Its kinda lame but what can you do

glittertongue

Thats a character specific minigame. Depending on how you've spent your game time thus far, your confusion might well be justified.

Grandpa_Noogie

I see you haven't been listening to the lyrics tentatively. The key to enjoying the community is to #STRIKE BACK!

[deleted]

GET EXCITED

tigerkneez

Guilty Guitar Hero Strive only has one playable guitarist smh

VeryBottist

This is what communicating with server does to a person

Lummah

Guilty Gear is a mosh pit. Punch and kick until it is done.

k2i3n4g5

Had me in the first half ain't gonna lie

DAHLiciousWafflez

The amount of woosh moments are oddly enough just as funny

Professional_Buy2872

I just wanted to buy this J-rock album and now some stupid pirate keeps throwing dolphins at me this is bullshit

Embrychi

Unironically though, rhythm game communities are toxic af so this is actually par for the course.

PissedOffPlankton

Rhythm game communities are super toxic? I dont play any but I figured those guys wouldn't have anything to be toxic over

rapidemboar

From my experience, most of the toxicity comes from the clash of different rhythm game fandoms. Friday Night Funkin' fans have a heated rivalry with Etterna fans which have a heated rivalry with Osu fans, etc. There's so many different games with similar gameplay but wildly varying design philosophy, and with the genre as niche as it is I think that drives certain people to toxically gatekeep fans of any game that gets even remotely popular. Otherwise, I think the rhythm game section of an arcade is one of the chillest places on Earth. It helps that rhythm game multiplayer usually lacks in-game player interactions entirely. You're much less likely to get dragged out of the arcade and beaten in an alleyway like a young Daigo playing a rhythm game compared to a fighting game.

Penzed

Friday night funking is the Super Smash Bros of Rythm games, no one respects Fnf as a rythym game cus the mechanics are too different

rapidemboar

It’s not the first time this has happened. I’ve heard the phrase “DDR is just Guitar Hero for your feet” more times than I can count IRL. The criticisms I see towards FNF are more or less the same ones I’ve seen directed at Guitar Hero and Osu in the past.

Penzed

The internet is repeating itself.

Embrychi

tbh idk I don't play rhythm games either, but they're usually a combination of anime and gaming fans so I thought it was a safe bet to call them toxic.

funkyfelis

People on the internet really love making super confident statements of fact and then immediately "actually I don't know anything about what I just said, I was just guessing" lol

qaasi95

I'd say it's more odd that they admitted they didn't actually know, instead of agressively doubling down to preserve ego.

Dasky14

Usually **very** competitive, but I wouldn't call music games inherently toxic. It's not direct team-based competition like in League of Legends or CS:GO that breeds toxic behaviour.

mrmojoz

Ah team games, where you get to hate the asshole opponents *AND* your dickface teammates.

darktraveco

wtf

Kraines

They aren’t. Rhythm game communities are very similar to the FGC. Everyone has their game/games of choice and like to feel smug about it, but ultimately we’re all just glad to see more people playing. Talk of growing community is the biggest discussion point in both.

Embrychi

Is there a discord or something for new players? I've kinda wanted to get into rhythm games but I played Osu a while ago and didn't love it, but I don't really know what else is actively played.

Kraines

You can go to /r/rhythmgames as a starting point, but you’ll be better off looking for specifically what you want to try/play. The games are as various as you can imagine, from guitar hero/rock band and clones, dance games like DDR/ITG/PIU/DRS, key games using 1 button like Rhythm Doctor up to 9 in Pop’n Music, mobile tap games like Cytus and Phigros, and some hard to categorize things like Chunithm and Beatmania IIDX. My best advice for finding something is taking a look at a handful of these and finding out which you like the look of the most and which you can play without a lot of time/money investment.

sneakpeekbot

Here's a sneak peek of /r/rhythmgames using the [top posts](https://np.reddit.com/r/rhythmgames/top/?sort=top&t=year) of the year! \#1: [Some madlad on discord](https://i.redd.it/r95fm8091lp61.jpg) | [112 comments](https://np.reddit.com/r/rhythmgames/comments/mef0qh/some_madlad_on_discord/) \#2: [When you want to play Maimai but quarantine won’t let you go outside](https://i.redd.it/04yz64g6e9e61.jpg) | [17 comments](https://np.reddit.com/r/rhythmgames/comments/l7qkcl/when_you_want_to_play_maimai_but_quarantine_wont/) \#3: [High bpm is love, high bpm is life](https://i.redd.it/fyq6j82wn6b71.png) | [14 comments](https://np.reddit.com/r/rhythmgames/comments/ok4qio/high_bpm_is_love_high_bpm_is_life/) ---- ^^I'm ^^a ^^bot, ^^beep ^^boop ^^| ^^Downvote ^^to ^^remove ^^| [^^Contact ^^me](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=sneakpeekbot) ^^| [^^Info](https://np.reddit.com/r/sneakpeekbot/) ^^| [^^Opt-out](https://np.reddit.com/r/sneakpeekbot/comments/o8wk1r/blacklist_ix/)

rapidemboar

The great thing about rhythm games is that everything's pretty much single-player, so you don't really need an active playerbase to enjoy it compared to a multiplayer-focused game like a fighting game or FPS. Here's a bunch of my personal favorites if you're looking for a good place to start... I personally got deep into the genre with [Stepmania](https://projectmoon.dance), which is basically Dance Dance Revolution but open-source and extremely customizable. It'll be a bit of a hunt for song packs, but there's plenty of active simfile communities on sites like [Zenius -I- vanisher](https://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/). [Etterna](https://etternaonline.com) also exists if you'd like an active playerbase with competitive leaderboards, though I personally don't play it since it's basically a Stepmania fork with stricter scoring and an unappealingly minimal UI. There's plenty of other simulators for other rhythm games, like Sound Voltex and Beatmania IIDX/BMS, but I found those to be a bit harder to set up and get songs for. If you're looking for PC games on Steam, Muse Dash and DJMAX Respect are some really solid ones, still active with new song updates/DLC from time to time. Both are also really easy to get into if you're new to the genre. Also, don't discount the massive rhythm game selection on mobile- Some of these games, like Arcaea, Voez, Seven's Code, and Deemo, are arguably much easier on a tablet, but Tone Sphere, Cytus, Muse Dash, Groove Coaster, and Pump It Up M play really well on a phone. They're usually free or really cheap too, though be warned that the DLC can get pricy over time. Also, if you have a Nintendo Switch, most of the games I mentioned above have ports that usually include all the DLC, though be warned that these games can get pretty pricey in the $30-$50 range. (Groove Coaster on Switch is really good, but it's so dang expensive...) And if you're feeling adventurous, check online to see if you've got a Round 1 arcade somewhere nearby. These places pretty much always have a massive selection of arcade rhythm games such as Dance Dance Revolution, Pump It Up, Beatmania IIDX, Maimai, Groove Coaster, etc... Pretty much everything you find here is gonna have an unconventional control scheme, like dance pads, massive buttons, and that giant mat Dance Rush has, and it's gonna feel like learning how to play video games from the start again, which is honestly one of my favorite parts of picking up a new rhythm game. Also, everyone here is really chill, and many skilled players are excited to see new people playing the game for the first time. That was a massive infodump, but the good news is that pretty much every platform has a wide selection of rhythm games to find and enjoy. Don't be afraid to try anything that looks interesting or has music that sounds cool. Almost all rhythm games are extremely easy to pick up and play at the lowest levels, and if you're having fun at that level that's all that matters. Don't feel obligated to play on the highest difficulties, play at the difficulty that's fun for you. Over time, that "fun difficulty" will get higher.

massayoung

DEEMO and Cytus are my 2 favorite rhythm games

massayoung

Miku project diva future tone or Dj max respect are both actively played

Zeomn

I second dj max respect

hardwarecheese

I just learned how to use a fight stick with sfv a couple of months ago and this game is alot more enjoyable than sfv to say the least. I guess I just have to practice and not give up.

Fishsk

hi :) read the rest of the post

Kureizy_Diamondo

Man, you don't deserve the downvotes Yes, you didn't get the joke, but you weren't mean like some other people in this comment thread, but for some reason people still dogpiled you

WholesomeCurbstomp

You're right. No one should expect to get **All Perfects!** when they play a new game. I'll keep on practicing instead of making excuses. Gotta Self-Reflect and Stop Blaming Others. I know there are others out there that can appreciate your well-intentioned post and upvote.

chunganoid

I didn't get that this was a joke until i looked at some comments

ProMarshmallo

Man came to the extra spicy mosh pit looking to head-bang with the homies like an amateur.

[deleted]

Learn to play defensive maybe? You gotta learn to turn the pressure around. It's a pretty fast paced game but you just have to learn to shut down the monkeys. But if you're not having fun regardless then you should stop playing the game.

onemeanspleen

I think you missed the joke

[deleted]

Oh yeah I did haha. Jokes on me.

Lnoob427

I mean if you want to jam to the music becoming a parry god doesn't seems like a bad idea.

kappaway

Well Seymour

[deleted]

This is honestly how I fell out of Smash (from the transition of 4 to ult) and found real fighting games to fill that void I felt.

[deleted]

Go play the club penguin disco minigame. Much less cancerous and you even get paid gold for it!

rpgtourguidejr

Wooooosh

MakiMaki_XD

Some jokes are so unfunny that we can't even perceive it as a joke. I think that's what happened here and I find it understandable.

Live-Depth-537

Makimaki knew that he could not change comedy, so instead of reflecting on themselves, they blamed OP

RedRocketRick

C O U N T E R ! !

MakiMaki_XD

Now that is humour I can relate to. Kudos.

Fishsk

Damn bro you must be so funny are you a comedian or something every joke you tell must blast people out of their seats when is your next show dude I'll be there

MakiMaki_XD

Mh, no thank you, I try to avoid people who call strangers "bro" or "dude" and horribly fail at being sarcastic, but thanks for the compliments nonetheless.

Fishsk

Holy shit dude I can't breath that was so funny, do you have a patreon or something I spend for more top tier gut buster comedy splashes like that???

MakiMaki_XD

No, sorry. I share my joyful demeanour for free. However, I do offer coaching sessions in which I correct your spelling and punctuation.

Fishsk

k

therealsonichero

How much for a Spelling lesson Bro-Bro!? : )

bloodhooof

sounds like people try to avoid you for every reason possible lmao

MakiMaki_XD

Mh not really, no.

Mopey_

How can you not perceive this as a Joke? Did you even read the post?

MakiMaki_XD

Of course I do know that it's supposed to be a joke. Though I view it as unfunny to such an extent that by exaggeration I argued that some might misunderstand (like Mcstringflow) or like me, wouldn't even consider it a joke. Reductio ad absurdum.\^\^

Plappyplap

(I think it was supposed to be a joke my friend)

TheKingOfRandom3

Is this satire or are you for real?

geo_tracker

its satire

ianstl

So because u get beat because people beat u up in a fighting game we r toxic

Curious_Donkey_9878

The joke: ✈️ Your head 🧔

Toon_Sniper

This fishing gatcha game is keeping me from accessing the true endgame. Greedy publishers. 0/10.

crusaderzimn

wait, a MUSIC game? i thought it was a fishing game

wowme93

No worry most gg game have dead server anyway might as well play offline

Shradow

Is it too much to ask for that a man enjoy his rock soundtrack and anime movie in peace?

Winter_Eternal

Is it weird that every gaming community it's toxic? I feel like I'm seeing a trend

DogRaider

I just played set vs Chipp I lose 73:2, he playtime 40h, my 200h I just want to kill my self, so enjoyable

SerialFreeloader123

The only character you can really rock with is I-no lol

AnomalousStoryteller

This post has the same vibes of a Jiyuna video

KyuuketsukiKun

You gotta be careful of the mosh pit

TheBanimal

You had me going for the first half I won't lie.

musashihokusai

If you never stop rocking and rock out all the time when the announcer says “Let’s Rock” won’t matter.
