I want to learn to play the solo from "You Only Live Once" by Suicide Silence. It's the song that made me want to learn guitar and if I learned the solo of it, I have compleated the song.
Funny the one son I really wanted to learn when I first started taking guitar seriously as an instrument was Boots of Spanish Leather by Bob Dylan, with the finger picking I think I quickly moved on to more beginner friendly songs but I really should take another look now I am a much better player.
Angeles by Elliot Smith. I always get the first couple seconds down then give up because there’s too much going on. My goal this year is to finally learn it.
The Hendrix one is the trickiest of them all.
Shawn Lane only wanted to play a solo over this version, and things got out of hand. I have full respect for Jimi, Shawn, and Stevie.
I was trying to trick you into just learning the hendrix one. I am learning SRV atm, and i noticed tgat i need to setup my guitar better 😅 and then i will continue to learn it(i got distracted and learned purple haze...)
I got through the first few measures at about 30% speed, and made the decision to put it aside. I'm not ready yet, and the fingerstyle course I'm working through deserves my full attention. I really love the tune. I'll come back to it one day.
Recently been getting alot better at shredding so hopefully tender surrender by steve vai after I get better at a few more patterns. Best guitar solo I think I ever heard.
Angelina by Tommy Emmanuel.
It's my first ever piece with hybrid picking, and articulating the melodies properly is tricky in itself.
While I can play up until a couple of bars before the first chorus, this is going to likely need work for months to get nearly perfect.
You can use music like this as long-term projects and it can really pay off.
Greetings. Always nice to see fellow Glaswegians in different subs. :)
Cheers, it's a bloody tricky piece for sure.
Have had a stab at it a few times and this is the first where I am making some actual progress and can play stuff at full speed, but without proper dynamics and ideal articulation.
Decided to just learn each bar one at a time very slowly until it's in my fingers, and then focus on two to four bar chunks and build the chunks up to speed. Been at this for a few weeks, but progress is around one bar a day, and will need a lot of polish after I can finally play through it all.
Uggh.
Seven by Symphony X Blind Faith by Dream Theater Wonderful Slippery Thing by Guthrie Govan Rock You by Dirty Loops (bass)
Mudvayne - Happy. It's an absolute beast of a song to play.
Cliffs of Dover and dance of death
A new level solo, tornado of souls, domination
Not a single one. Every now and then I'll hear a song that I feel like learning, but most of my playing time is improv with a looper.

It's very doable! Just take it slow [Here's the video series I used to learn it](https://youtu.be/xBGov-r7tAM?si=74y9nhZx7qeKIAMd)
Little Wing, started learning it years ago but I keep getting distracted by other things. It's a little embarrassing by this point.
Jimmy or SRV?
Hendrix, but I also wanna learn the Shawn Lane version. Only difference is that would require substantial amounts of practice.
i don't know the shawn lane version 😮 So, the hendrix one does not require much practice then?

Keep in mind, I'm a Shawn Lane fan so that one I'm well aware of
This is Shawn Lane improvising over the tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80LR5ev2gSw
Sultans of Swing. I'll never get there.
I Drink Alone - George Thorogood
Octavarium by Dream Theater.
Calico Skies by Paul McCartney
Cliffs of Dover. I'll never master it but it's a wonderful challenge
The acoustic intro to [Crazy On You](https://youtu.be/SuiDF5EX4bQ?si=hQBLCAuvfgm9USIV).
[The Fisherman](https://youtu.be/YBdQdJqMjSw?feature=shared) 190 bpm quarter notes? WTF Leo?
It's difficult, but not impossible. You can get there with proper fingerings, a good relaxed right hand, and walking it up with the metronome.

Creeping death
Headless by Dog Fashion Disco. It's deceptively hard - the timing is NOT intuitive at all.
Recently been getting alot better at shredding so hopefully tender surrender by steve vai after I get better at a few more patterns. Best guitar solo I think I ever heard.
Chocolate Jackalope by Dance Gavin Dance
Spellbound by Siouxsie And The Banshees. I've never been much into picking but I love that song and Mcgeochs playing.
Anything Segovia basically

I made it to about half speed through a couple of riffs, full speed intro before I gave up. Good luck. Also, greetings fellow Glaswegian.
