He thinks he's addicted.
He thinks.
My brother in plastics.
The plastics deity already stole your wallet when you decided to put on those stickers.
Welcome to the hobby, champ. May your backlogs stay reasonable.
Hell yeah fam. I’m similar—only ever done smaller kits, but I’ve got an unopened MG Build Strike Gundam box in my closet waiting for me that I’m really excited for

Ya think? Soon enough you're gonna end up with more than you think.
Yoo man, repeat after me
Our Lord of Gunpla, who art in Bandai,
Hallowed be thy backlog.
Thy model kits come, thy builds be done,
On Earth as they are in Bandai.
Give us this day our daily Gunpla,
And forgive us our backlog debts,
As we forgive those who buy the last kit on the shelf.
Lead us not into temptation to buy duplicates,
But deliver us from poorly molded parts.
For thine is the hobby, the creativity, and the glory,
Forever and ever, in the world of Gunpla.
Amen.

3 months in 😂 PG and HGs not pictured here but yes, it is addictive
try some more of the recent RG, like the Hi-Nu or Sazabi, if you like the 1/144 scale. They are designed a bit more like 1/144 scale MGs and are really good builds. Compared to the early RG, like the gramps and justice, most MG are a lot easier to build and a bit sturdier, as well as having more noticeable details simply because of the size.
HG are fun to build but most only take an afternoon to build because of the simplicity, some of the newer ones from WFM and Seed Freedom are a bit more detailed though. They're great if you want to try painting or customizing, just because of the simplicity and cheapness in comparison to RG or MG kits.
some mgs work perfectly as a centerpiece, especially the ones that come with an led part out of the box (unless you mod smds yourself) eg sazabi, nu and hi nu ver ka
The strike mg was also one of my first kits! It has 0 decals, no panel lining, and is full of gate marks 😅 It gets even more addicting when you start experimenting with learning these techniques and I find that it becomes a piece of art you appreciate (and prolongs the amount of time spent on the kit so you don’t blast through them).
Take a trip to Japan at least once in your life and find the galore of vintage kits, p bandai kits, and gundam base limited editions as well!
Bro, I started with a Small one, A warhorse Nobunaga something that I bought from toy kingdom then im hooked.. im still struggling where i can buy its partner.. anyway i after i built that i immediately jumped over to an MG RX-78-2 Ver. 3 kit. LOL. Cheers to us. 🤣
Need a filer to take off the nub marks left behind on the parts. I recommend raiser glass, it’s pricey but it works real well, you can find it on newtype.us
I’m one step behind. Just finished Force impulse spec II RG. May move to Supernova Heavy Arms Custom MG, Deathscythe Hell Mg or Exia Avalanche MG. Can’t decide yet.

Hahahaha they said "reasonable backlogs"
What backlog? I always build my kits as soon as I get them, because I have no concept of patience.
Only when you buy 4-5 kits at a time will you know true addiction
I would probably do that, IF I collected HG kits. I'm a MG enthusiast.
Hell yeah fam. I’m similar—only ever done smaller kits, but I’ve got an unopened MG Build Strike Gundam box in my closet waiting for me that I’m really excited for
that one is really good, have fun

I see you're a fellow follower of the Church of Kira Yamato
Well it appears that we have similar tastes, lol. The one on the right was my front runner for my next one.
I'm one behind you! What did you think of the build here? Did you add any custom additions or is the kit basically as-shown?
Basically as shown. I didn't do any modifications. I really enjoyed the build and it went really well, few mistakes but nothing unrecoverable.
Does the kit come with these decals? The pictures of the kit online look bare. sorry, just trying to figure my next move :)
It came with the decals. Have fun!
Then after that one MGEX strike freedom
Strike (RM) is definitely a good starting point to get you *addicted* with MG, or gunpla in general.

The additional handle is backwards from official image
I prefer MG's and PG's done RG's but more of the bigger kits

A glimpse into the future lol
Yeah, worst part is I have 11 kits in my backlog 💀
Is that FA Unicorn base custom or can it be purchased?
It can be purchased! I got it from taobao
How do you feel about MGs compared to RG?? I started with RG RX-72 and RG Justice, I'm not sure I want to go HG now but MG looks interesting.

Put it this way: I love the larger MGs because I have room to display them. If you don't have much display room, it's hard to get many of them.

How did it take for you to complete it?
I would say probably 8 hours total.
Only 8 huh, sorry it just i never build any mg grade gundam so im just wondering
That being said there are many levels of "done" this comment section has been a treasure trove of info to prove just that.

Which one is this i only built some hg from witch from mercury sofar but this one looks awsome ^^
I was lucky enough to get the Perfect strike base version in march, Its def behind the newer MG but was still a gem to make.
Welcome to model building lmao… it gets addicting…
10 years ago I finished Strike RM as my first ever MG too! What a kit to start a decade long hobby!
That was also my first MG! Very good kit.
Famous last words
Are mg's standart with such detail or did you make those yourself?

Pretty sure this guy was my first MG as well. It's a good example of the middle ground of MG kits. Not divine, but still a solid kit.
Welcome to the club

Then you will find out that the are some big ass RGs and you'll be back where you belong, among us RG elitists.
Need to panel line it and fix the stickers
