Its such a cool kit. It really can’t look bad. Mine was sitting stock on my shelf for almost 7 years before I finally decided it was time to start customizing it. I have enjoyed it all 7 years.
The skill on display here is incredible. I've been inspired to herringbone my pg Astray by gunpla_enthusiast's work (see below), the busy-ness is alleviated by lengthening the block in the pattern. To be clear, my novice scribing is hilariously substandard and I mean you no disrespect!
Yeah! I definitely used this for inspiration. I tried changing up a bunch and added some PLA plates. It was so cool I had to try it. I also watched Studio G’s PG Astray video too.
The first time I saw the herringbone it completely changed the game for me, and your work has inspired me to get back to practicing - looking forward to the update mate
Agreed on changing the game. I never thought a pattern on a Gundam would look good. I might have thought about it, but never would have actually done it.

I’m actually building mine too as we speak. I wish I had your skills. On the pictures online,it shows some metallic accents and I wanted to try it out so I just used a marker on the top of the foot. It looks okay I guess. Show us your finished product when you complete it. It looks awesome.

I tested different sized patterns on 1”x1” PLA plate. I originally tried to do half this size and it was just too small.
Did you use tape as a guide or do you use like the metal stencils?
Pencil and guide tape.
