The zaku is quite interesting too cause it's made of used tea leaves to give it the green color. Personally I really the gunpla and zaku kun sets cause they're fascinating experiments with molding materials.
Yeah gunpla kun and zaku kun kits are experiments with more environmentally friendly materials. Gunpla kun is made with limex and has a texture kinda like vinyl but is more brittle. They're really interesting. Not quite good enough for a full size kit yet but cool that they're trying to find better alternatives.

We really take plastic for granted, I briefly tried using 3D printed resin pieces for kitbashing and while the pieces didn't break, they were definitely more brittle than normal plastic and the tolerances were always slightly off so it was an utter pain in the ass
I have this kit as well and had better luck, it’s really neat actually, the material has a cool to the touch feel to it, and weighs a bit more than regular plastic. I keep it in the “model kit” mode and don’t mess with it much.
I bought my son this little dude when we went to Fan Expo New Orleans at the beginning of the year. That was also the same time I got an RG Epyon and discovered the gunpla money put.

Watch out when handling the gun, it's insanely frail.
I never broke a single piece of any kit I built, ever and I'm very careful when handling stuff...and it snapped in half to my absolute surprise, lol.
Also no a fan of the scrawny limbs but I think if you display it in its "runner" form it looks quite amazing!

At first glance I thought this was an SD, which I haven't grown a taste for, but then I noticed it was different and this is a way better chibi take than SD in my opinion. I could totally buy a couple of these.
I just finished mine! I’m displaying it the other way though. I really like the feel of the material, it has a nice weight to it. I wonder if they could strategically use it on things like the legs of the inner frames, to help make other gunpla more stable?

It's definitely different. More brittle, my stand connector broke quite quickly

Definitely, the feel is a bit different, the colors are generally lighter than usual. Also it's significantly heavier than standard ABS

I have one myself, it is cute. If you don't have one already, you could try the SDCS RX-78-2, it has thicker limbs.
