Barney's line about it being "dot org, it's not for profit. They really just want to get the information out there" makes me laugh so hard every single time!!
My husband isnāt big into most pop culture but he introduced me to himym. I was excited to be able to explain this joke to him so he could fully appreciate the comedy. Same with the jokes in the episode where Hurley from Lost was a guest star.
Man, having been a Lost fan, and Hugo my favorite character, seeing his first scene in himym being him saying the numbers really fast was something else
The show aired on Citytv in Canada. If you watch a rerun or stream it, the logo isn't there.
Due to Canadian regulations, the Canadian feed often replaced the CBS affiliate when the same show aired on two channels, even if it wasn't the same episode.
They still do that.
When this episode aired, however, I was living in Saskatchewan, where hoodies are known as "bunny hugs" and people are way too smug about not changing their clocks twice a year.
Because Saskatchewan doesn't change its clocks, the feed substitution only occurred between November and March... and they aired a different episode on Citytv that night. At that point, I hated the feed substitution rules. But I subsequently used it as a reason why I also hated living in Saskatchewan.

This one annoyed me because we learn that Paul Shaffer and Jason Priestly were at the game together, in Hamilton. But Priestly then says he was in Squamish.
I loved the jokes but this was a pretty egregious oversight.
Also, Winnipeg. Raspberry jelly.
I'm very proud to say I've been to every town they mentioned in this episode.
Timmy's is not good anymore but the timbits are a must for all road trips
I watched HIMYM way before I moved to Canada, so I'm always looking forward to doing or seeing something mentioned in the show
They eat them in the US too.
It doesnāt taste like sour cream. The sour cream goes in the dough. If I told you it was just a glazed cake doughnut you wouldnāt notice the difference.
"should've been the best day of my life"
Canadian sex acts dot org was one of my favorite things
Those Newfies are out of control
Manitoba Milk Bag?? The Reverse Rick Moranis??
Rick Moranis. The Reverse Rick Moranis šš

You son of a, iāve never been āāā in years!
The number of cameos in this episode was truly impressive.
āWhy does everyone think itās about me? Cut-it-out!ā
I always liked that joke

There are so many 80s pop culture references that I wonder if a lot of younger people get. I had to explain a lot to my husband.
The hockey guys always impressed me the most!
The episode is truly meta
Picking on Canadians really is the common ground that brings us all together.
Yes. For example: everyone, how many Canadians does it take to change a lightbulb?
The light is out? Oh no, im scared, please help
Read this with Marshallās poor attempt on Canadian accent
āNobody likes the darkā
No birthday wishesā¦
Criminal no one has a boston cream
Boston tho.
Maple Cream > Boston Cream
Thats my favš
"That day is now known in music history as the day grunge was born"
Well thatās disappointingā¦
One of my favorite moments on the whole show lol. Especially knowing how big of a Rush fan Jason is
Love the city tv watermark too, cements the Canadian-ness about it
100% intentionalā¦

I remember those days. Even seeing promos a lot when i was younger.

As a hockey fan, I got super stoked when I saw Luc Robitaille
It was cool they got him for the cameo!
Sudbury Honey Dip Bulldogs
Give your balls a tug
Thereās an unbelievable amount of good looking girls in Sudbury. Got a dip??
Huh?
Settle down
It was great seeing Geddy Lee here.
This one annoyed me because we learn that Paul Shaffer and Jason Priestly were at the game together, in Hamilton. But Priestly then says he was in Squamish. I loved the jokes but this was a pretty egregious oversight. Also, Winnipeg. Raspberry jelly.
Sudbury Ontario being mentioned was definitely really cool as well
Right!!
It might, no joke, be the only time in history that Sudbury is mentioned on a non-Canadian TV show.
Me? Calgary, Alberta. A box of Birthday Cake timbits. The news shook me so bad I couldn't finish the last one.
TIL that Wawa is a town in Ontario and not just the best gas station convenience store
It's not open in the winter My wife's family lives there
First of all, get some real money. Donāt know what board game this came from
As a Canadian, I resonated with that so hard
There's kids playing hockey on the here!
This one has a moose, this one has a beaver! And they all have Elton John on the back!
It's hilarious that he just sees Queen Elizabeth as Elton John š
Just watched this one lol
Nobody likes the dark!
Marshall smirkingš
The fact they leaned heavily into Canadian references and didnāt once mention the Tragically Hip is criminal.
As a massive LA kings fan, the Luc Robitaille cameo in the jersey!!!! Absolutely iconic behavior
P.s. I love you

No Sebastian Bach cameo was criminal here
And while i didn't have a service with it dumb Laff dropped the show. There, i vented and it helped.
Ed: CANADIANS ARE WEIRD!
Trebek is the toughest game show host in Sudbury. He puts buns in seats while running them up and filling them in.
This sounds like something from Canadien Sex Acts dot org.
Literally one of our favorite moments of the show. This might be my favorite episode.
I only thing I hated is how they portrayed Canadians as guns enthusiasts, when it's clearly the other way around.
I think that was just Robin and her weird father though
I think thatās the point. They joked Robin loving guns even though sheās Canadian and not American.
Most Canadians are gun enthusiasts, just not the city people. Hunting and self-defense are huge deals, especially in rural areas.
I wouldn't say most Canadians are though. I've lived all my life in rural areas and hunters are in the minority.
Yeah, the need has died down. But best believe all those folks still have a rifle or 12 in the attic.
Is that Robert Carlyle on the left, second row?!
No. Geddy Lee from the band Rush.
That was the day grunge music was invented
Kurt Cobain was rolling in his grave on that day
One of them says the tim Hortons he was in but is later revealed to have been in the crowd which doesnāt make sense
Ngl they all look like they like those donuts that they said that they were eating Omg tongue twister there sorry yall
But how could Jason Priestly hear Paul Schaefer's stomach growl all the way from British Columbia?!
People in Canada eat sour cream donuts???? Wtf
They eat them in the US too. It doesnāt taste like sour cream. The sour cream goes in the dough. If I told you it was just a glazed cake doughnut you wouldnāt notice the difference.
shouldāve been the best day of my life
So is a timbit just a donut hole?
Lol
Just don't turn off the lights
