“Gods help us all” Otto’s reaction was absolutely hilarious, even he couldn’t believe the cartoonish shit he was hearing 😭😭

oftenevil

In my own head canon Otto absolutely switches to Team Black in the middle of his tirade towards the feckless, insolent pup Aegon—and no one can convince me otherwise.

rocklizard55

Whoever wrote the line calling it a "prank" is genius.

vl_lv

LOLLL I giggled when I heard him say that, I didn’t realize it was a medieval phrase

oftenevil

It wasn’t. At least not that I know of. It was just used in this fantasy show’s setting.

Hairy_Combination586

early 16th century (denoting a wicked deed). A little post medieval.

oftenevil

Sarah Hess is pretty good at her job wot wot

HumanPerosn

Let’s be honest, the plan was dubious at best and Cole pulled it out of his ass and was clearly grasping at straws but it still came close as hell to working

ashcrash3

I don't the plan was bad in the chance foe it to work. The issue was that it wouldn't have had as much as an effect that Aegon would have wanted. Like the war still would have gone on through her kids, they would be even more upset then before, and now the greens would lose another member of the kingsguard with ability for petty vengeance.

Ill_Implement_2708

It worked better than Daemon's plan, less moving parts. Better in the sense that he came close to actually killing the intended target, but B&C (and Larys) ended up causing a lot more chaos.

KnowledgeOverall5002

I like how much of a shitshow tg has been

oftenevil

It’s so adorable how they think they’ve secured the moral high ground and are (somehow?) beyond criticism. Like a first year grad student or something. You almost have to admire their level of delusion.

Many-Sprinkles-418

His "brilliant 😃" sent me to the floor.

MottyTheClown

Otto in that scene: ![gif](giphy|tI3QtlK328o8M)

ZBaocnhnaeryy

Otto wishing he’d married one of his own sons to Rhaenyra:

strangemary

I think even Rhaenyra’s proposed match between Jace and Helaena sounds reeeeaaally good now.

Kellin01

It was crazy. Considering that any servant or knight who just recently saw Erryk in some other part of the castle would have immediately suspect smth wrong.

nagidon

If Arryk had been wearing a crime cloak instead of prancing around in his Kingsguard armour and drawing attention, Mysaria would’ve never noticed. Once again, greens beaten by their own arrogance.

NectarineQueen13

💀💀💀

AlexanderCrowely

These people never heard of assassins ? Just faceless men right across the bay.

DagonG2021

Faceless Men are extremely rare and costly tho

Fantastic_Sympathy85

There isn't likely anyone richer?

SuckOnDeezNOOTZ

They're portrayed as being insanely costly for anyone, meaning that they will enact a toll on the purchaser that will not be forgotten easily no matter if it's Loren Lannister.

turell4k

In GOT it seems like the cost is having someone commit suicide and offer themselves to the Many-Faced God, but the specifics are never explored. Even if it doesn't matter who it is, that seems kinda difficult.

AlexanderCrowely

Rare ? You can knock on their damn door and ask for them.

randu56

This template is funny af

SCBeauty

Just making sure I'm not thinking the wrong way: Mysaria ran back and told Erryk that she just saw Arryk heading towards the Queen's chamber, right? That's how he knew to run back inside to confront him?

vl_lv

She told one of the guards

Mnwolf95

Once aegon said it, he even realized how stupid of an idea it was 😂 but that man isn’t stepping down on his beliefs

Chance-Soft-5702

TBH it's so silly but it was almost a success.

MESH-IO

If Otto had overseen the assassination, it would have been a huge Victory, but they hurried the order.

Blazeddit

Killing Rhaenyra might've been a success. But it still leaves her children alive and kills the "Rhaenyra the cruel" propaganda along with her.

mangokolla

Gods otto be regretting days he wasted making his daughter seduce viserys when he could've wooed rhae

ProfessionalRace2823

TG whining about Aegon would never agree to this when he's exactly as impetuous and impulsive in the book as well, described as "quick to anger & slow to forgive", hanged all the ratcatchers there too and would absolutely think this is a good idea out of sheer thirst for vengeance. The show had his character pinned. The other thing was ppl saying Otto tried to send Westerling too...wanted to assasinate Rhaenyra too"..when the Blacks didn't yet know Viserys was dead & the Greens had the element of surprise with them! Two totally different situations. Media literacy dead smh.

Gaslight_Joker

A move so stupid no one saw it coming

Pure-Drawer-2617

“Looney tunes ass plot” they got an assassin into Rhaenyra’s room and only got saved by pure luck, I don’t think we can really mock the idea.

KapiTod

If it's stupid and it works it's not stupid, and that plan worked like a dream until it fucked up.
