He was measured at the combnie at 6'0.5 and 170lbs. So looks like he will become a lot bigger than his old man. I'm sure the 126lbs was an old listing. But at this pt, size shouldn't be a concern with Aatos.
I love that he is Saku's kid as much as the next person. I'm no expert and haven't seen enough video either. But I don't see him as a #2 Center. He may not even be an NHL'er from what I have seen. But, I'd still take a shot on him in round 3+
I wonder, where would you rank him?
I don't really follow prospects (other than the top profile ones), but on eliteprospects he's listed (by different sources) at 60, 94, 104.
If we go with the optimistic one (#60), well our 2nd rounder is #57, I think his name is worth 3 positions!
If he's closer to 94 or 104 then it may be too big a reach I suppose.
I don't have him ranked. He's having a year basically on par with Oliver Kapanen in his draft year. 1.11 PPG in the U20 sarja and invisible at the U18s Worlds. So that's his range I guess.
I didn't watch him in Finland so I cant speak for that part but I saw all his U18s and like I said, he was invisible.
Doesn't mean he won't turn out to be something but I personally ranked 80 something players ahead of him.
I did mock him as an early 3rd rounder to the Habs a few months ago and here's my analysis of him
"If we skip him I will riot, bloodline above it all! In all seriousness he's his father's son on the ice, intelligent and providing continuous puck support. He's pretty lean but in his case he's a physical work in progress considering his late 6 inches growth spurt. Fluid skater that has made many steps in the right direction this year even earning Liiga call ups a couple time."
Another name to look for in this late 2nd/early 3rd range is Luke Osburn. The kid is 6 days away from being a 2025 draftee and has played big minutes in Youngstown this year. Very long project as he's committed to Wisconsin ... in 2026-27, sometimes the long game pays big!
I say take a flyer on the kid past the 2nd round. We know where he comes from and what heart he has. It's not guaranteed he'll make it. But fuck it, we had Connor Crisp and Alex Avtsin and even traded up to get Brett Lernout at some point. We can afford one sentimental pick with all the picks we have.
Draft him now
Doesn’t Aatos weigh like 140 pounds?
Cole wasn’t much bigger when he was drafted, if memory serves
I saw him listed at 126lbs at the start of the year lol. Seems to have gained about 40lbs though, 6'0 165lbs isn't so bad.
40lbs in 6 months? no fucking way lol

Good frame though. He’ll be a late bloomer but there’s no reason he can’t be 185-190 lbs when he’s 21.

Most guys picked outside the first round don’t end up being NHLers. Stil, I hope we pick him in round 3 or 4 then he turns into a star centre.
I'd have my fingers crossed for sure.
This is all I care about. Don't care who goes at 5 and 26, this is my boy, even if he never ends up playing in the NHL I do not care.
What if we get him @26

I don't dislike the player but boy I would be disappointed to use a 2nd on him.

I have him as a 3rd or 4th, similar to Miro Satan Jr. But I very much want him.
We have a few extras, don't we?
Don't we have only one 2nd round pick ?
You're right, we actually don't have our own pick, just Colorado's second.
Boom or bust on Poirier with our 2nd plz

> I did mock him Really oughta change that to *mock-draft* him, haha.
An ex-gf babysat that kid. This year’s draft ages me.

man you are taking me back with some of those names lmao. Dan Quailer should be making the show any day now…
Steve Quailer, I think ? The next Pacioretty 😂
Heyyyy Conor crisp is a cool name and I had hope.
>Se voit comme un futur centre numéro 2 dans la LNH like father like son (love you sak)
