If they were I’d hope they’d be redesigned, their models & textures are too “Beta-esque.” I think they should get redesigned like the Combine Dropship from Beta to release, since they looked very close to the other synths in the Beta, but by release their models were much improved. The Crab and Mortar synth just don’t look up to date enough, looking too meaty and ugly (from a design standpoint).

Rather than wishing for more appearances I actually want more enemy interactions, infighting, or combinations. Like when the antlions are invading city 17 it would be incredible to have seen an antlions climbing on top of striders to take them down ect…
Atleast during the city 17 uprising, collapse of citadel, and some of the forest levels would be more metro cops, I get a lot of them would have ditched the combine and joined the rebels but I imagine many others would still be loyal to them, I get they wouldn’t change much in terms of game play but would be neat to see them still fighting even as far as white forest showing their elegance to the combine
I get yeah that by the time of white forest in episode 2 that most metro cops would have been killed from the citadels collapse, decided to fully ditch the combine, or even given combine soldier gear since they’re so dedicated even without enhancements but atleast a few popping up would be a nice addition
More synths. The crab and mortar synth are seen a few times in game but never fought. Same with the flamethrower dudes. I'd like to at least see them in hla but you don't see them even once, let alone fight them
More zombies.
Not the typical zombie, poison, fast, or zombines, but more variations of headcrabbed victims. Like a fast or poison zombine. Or a zombigaunt that's, like, always radiating electricity. Or maybe even a headcrabbed antlion. Zombies in different outfits. Zombies with woman voices. Fast zombie-hunter or two.
I was so upset that you couldn’t take the pheromones in episode 2. Storming nova prospekt with a swarm of ant lions was one of my favorite parts of HL2
Don't know about yall i just love fighting metro cops their notbthe weakest yet not the strongest bullet sponges evn tho they appear in 5,4 chapters in the game it really was too little for me soi keep coming back playing the early chapters for that juicy balanced action
Probably the Stalkers you encounter in the Core in EP1, there is only a few that you fight and that's it. Though story-wise it makes sense.
Also the friendly orange rollermines that Alyx reprograms, honestly EP1 has a lot of original content
Race X, but they are a tricky enemy not because they were difficult or anything, but it's because many don't belive the expansions are cannon and therefore they don't exist in the half life universe
I’d have loved to see the alien assassin (and zombie assassin) in the actual game. They looked really interesting in the beta and would have reinforced the idea of the Combine being a sort of assimilated alliance of species modified enslaved by this more powerful species. I also think it’d make for some interesting levels!
I gotta agree the Antlion guards I always found their design very unique and they posed such a threat watching them take out combine squads with ease. This might be an unpopular opinion but, I kinda wish there was another chapter with a similar vibe to ravenholm. Not necessarily an exact copy but something similar to another dead village where the monsters have made their home, maybe add some old monsters like bullsquids and even a gargantua that have completely made a town or city impossible to live in along with headcrab zombies to really give the horror aspect another chance.

I think the combine would have eliminated all the gargantuas, but it would be cool to see some alien grunts with really beat up armor
Or maybe have the zen creatures be in more remote areas, where the combine doesn't care if they cause problems. Maybe in the sewers too cuz why not
The gargantuas are too powerfull to be eliminated their probably suffering the same fate the striders did
I don’t think they would be too powerful, and I’d imagine there wouldn’t be too many left on Earth. Keep in mind we only saw two gargantuas in HL1.
