In my current state, I'd be freezing to death in the cold, desolate wastelands of Ontario, Canada, assuming I'm not taken to city 17 in this scenario. I won't die immediately, so long as there isn't many xen fauna; but, considering HL2 most likely takes place in November, I won't make it long without help from a population which likely doesn't exist anymore.
It may be possible to find old clothes and scavenge enough to make it through the winter, but once the xen fauna come rolling in around spring, it won't be long before I get jumped in my sleep or ambushed by a headcrab, assuming I don't die from a myriad of other adversities. The chances of finding another human in my part of Canada would likely be very slim, if North America is as fucked as HL:A makes it out to be.
What makes you think it takes place in November? I think I don't remember any clues to that. I do remember however hearing frogs croaking in Route Kanal/Water Hazard, and maybe even crickets, so it makes me think the game takes place between spring - early autumn, not late autumn - winter. The way characters are dressed is also a bit inconsistent.
