My girlfriend and I recently went to Tambour Tavern on James N. It might not be a “steakhouse” but they offer two different steak for 2 platters that are super good, cooked over wood fire. Highly recommended.
Their Caesar salad is the best, but it will remove every ounce of moisture from your mouth as you sleep overnight and you'll wake up like a fire breathing dragon.
It's the garlic in the salad; and maybe their awesome garlic bread might have something to do with it.
Not a steakhouse per se, but Le Tambour’s steak platter for two is fantastic. Order that, a bottle of wine, and a few other things to share and you’re all set!
They used to have a great varied steak menu but they’ve since done away with that. That being said the steak that remains in their menu is quite good but I wouldn’t classify the mill as a steakhouse anymore
Bluebloods or Jacob’s in Toronto if you want top of the line and $$$$$ but would probably want to get a hotel as well. Depends how rich you’re feeling.
Edgewater Manor much closer, probably a better option for you.
Shakespeares is amazing but you’ve already mentioned it so rule that one out.
Bluebloods is definitely a splurge worth doing once if your pockets are deep enough. It’s actually in Casa Loma, so you get some of that castle-vibes to go with your steak.
I’ve been, and while it is probably one of the best steak dinners I’ve had, I don’t feel the need for a second run.
For my money, my celebration meals tend to end up at La Palette on Queen West. Swanky enough for me.
I went to BlueBlood recently and actually was not impressed at all. Our striploin was tough with a huge tendon down the centre, and the wagyu was dry and flavourless. Jacobs however is phenomenal and so is Oliver’s Steakhouse in Oakville.
Redstone does a nice steak for two and has a solid menu that changes often. Pearl Morrissette is extremely good, but getting a reso is more of a process.
Carriage house in Burlington. It’s not specifically steak but it’s often on the menu. It’s expensive, but you get a great meal and outstanding service.
Victorias would be my choice for Hamilton but other options if you are willing to travel
Chop Steakhouse has good prime rib, closest is Oakville though
Ruth Chris - my favourite but I believe the closest now is by the Toronto airport

Seconded! Very good steak frites and tatare!
Napoleon’s Steak & Seafood on Fairview Street and Lord Nelson Steak House on Plains Road in Burlington.
Both are often overlooked. Lord Nelson's interior is a trip back to the 1970s, but both the food and service are fantastic.
Lord Nelson's always gets my vote :)
Napoleon's is top shelf & I came here to say it.

Isn't it fantastic? Lol

Victoria’s is certainly legendary… If you did want to keep it local, Le Tambour Tavern does a fantastic Steak Frites for two. Great vibes as well.
I second Le Tambour! If you are looking to venture to Niagara, Root and Bone always has amazing steaks.
Def a bit overpriced for what you get.
Shakespeare's downtown is the real OG. It's what Victoria's is trying to become.
Victoria's is great, realty enjoy going there
It nice the service is first class but all the clients are old
Ancaster Old Mill had a great steak. I haven't been in a while.
They used to have a great varied steak menu but they’ve since done away with that. That being said the steak that remains in their menu is quite good but I wouldn’t classify the mill as a steakhouse anymore
We've had no luck when we've dined at the Old Mill. It's always been a disappointment for us.
Big Pete’s Steakhouse in Caledonia
Cherry House Restaurant in Burlington is quite good
This is the only right answer ☝️if we’re including surrounding area
I third this, love that place
Glad this got mentioned. I’m a shakespeares fan but this place had a killer bison steak the one time I went.
Bison Ribeye was phenomenal
The Lord Nelson is my pic! Service is amazing love how they make the ceasar salad right at the table
I enjoy purple pear, the owner is great
Agree… inside is a bit dated, but food (steak) and staff are top notch.

The carriage house in Burlington is amazing
Le Tambour was just there for my 6 year ani and it was amazing. The Côté was fantastic but my favourite was the ginger cake lol
Edgewater in Stoney Creek
Shakespeare’s without a doubt.
My vote would go to Spencer’s at the Waterfront; especially for some seafood with the steak. Especially for a dinner out- the view is also beautiful.
went there for lunch it was underwhelming and got sat facing the street
Fat rabbit in St. Catherines. Best steak I have ever had
La Castile in Mississauga.
If you are from Hamilton, I say support hamilton busineses 1. Rapscallion 2. Conversate steakhouse 3. Victoria's
had some incredible steak at Rapscallion
Cherryhouse, Burlington
Highly recommend Zoro’s. Next to Pearson, but worth the drive. Edgewater if you want local in Hamilton/Stoney Creek.
Some new names on here I’ll have to try!
Redstone does a nice steak for two and has a solid menu that changes often. Pearl Morrissette is extremely good, but getting a reso is more of a process.
I don’t know if you like to gamble, but way back in the day, my dad would get a tonne of vouchers for the 21 Club at Fallsview.
Shakespeare’s decor is dated, but you always get a great steak. Go porterhouse.
Carriage house in Burlington. It’s not specifically steak but it’s often on the menu. It’s expensive, but you get a great meal and outstanding service.
Recently went to Victorias steak house an highly recommend! They give you two oysters in the beginning of your meal instead of dessert at the end!
Edge water manor!!!! Top notch food right on the water off fruitland rd.
I had an incredibly good experience at the French. Great steak. Everything we've had from there was awesome.
If you want unlimited steak we love Brasa in Niagara Falls or Copacabana Toronto (avoid the one in the Falls).
When they have steaks. Brothers grim was great. Lobby had a great steak too.
Big disappointment at BroGrimm. Maybe their steak is alright, but we didn't think the food was worth the price.
Their prices have gone up and the quality has gone down for sure.
Awh. That’s too bad to hear. It was a favourite. But haven’t been in a year.
Victorias
Do sous vide at home and you won’t be able to go anywhere else.
Victoria’s/Le Tambour
In Niagara you have Ruth's Chris and Morton's.
Over priced chains IMO.
I haven’t been in a long time, so I don’t know if it still is, but charcoal steakhouse in Kitchener used to be good.
Conversate steak house
Victorias would be my choice for Hamilton but other options if you are willing to travel Chop Steakhouse has good prime rib, closest is Oakville though Ruth Chris - my favourite but I believe the closest now is by the Toronto airport
Conversate on king William for the best steaks imo
Victorias is really excellent. I haven't had other steaks in the area but can say its one of the best steakhouse steaks I've ever had.
