I believe if a Fugazi reunion was going to happen, it would have already. It's not about money. We are talking about one of the most principled bands to ever come around. They would do it for those who never got the opportunity to see them live, or even just because they wanted to.
I think if I Fugazi reunion happened they’d likely do all new material. And that would piss people off. And everyone would shit on it and they know this and that’s why they wouldn’t do it.
Problem is accommodating their audience demand with their "rules" as a band of only all-ages and never more than 5 dollars. It's a guaranteed loss for any promoter and a gigantic headache, and if those demands aren't met (virtually undoable) they would refuse to play.
If they go back on their ethics, it undermines the whole thing and they know it. It's never happening, as much as I'd kill to see them.
They could easily book the show themselves if they wanted. They are all still active in music and have plenty of connections. Since they would probably play a handful of shows at most it wouldn’t really matter if they weren’t money making ventures. It would be so easy for them to play even if it didn’t make any money.
Yeah, but you can go see Coriky instead, with Ian MacKaye and Joe Lally, doing something similar, but different and new.
Fugazi is prolly my favorite band, but they were of a time and place that is long over and I’m glad they don’t do reunions.
Still don’t think this one is entirely out of the realm of possibility - did they ever confirm it was done or are they still on indefinite hiatus or whatever. Either way, would love to see them.
you’re right. look at every other band from that sound and era and how they fell off; citizen, movements, turnover etc. it’s probably a good thing they called it at their peak imo
Your comment is heart-breaking because it's so true. My first punk-adjacent show was The Story So Far, Turnover, Citizen, and Movements in 2018. It feels like a completely different and lesser era of music for those bands now. (The new TSSF stuff is awesome, though.)
Nowadays, I really admire the ability for bands to step away. I think the hardcore scene has shown me that, even though it took me some time to understand, especially when Gulch quit lol. But it's really better to burn out than fade away.
At this point there’s so much hype out there wishing they would come back that they almost can’t. If the fans desire for their reunion wasn’t enough up until this point nothing will be.
I caught them on their second or third last ever show in Chicago. Thought nothing of it, saw Title Fight were playing and bought a ticket. Didn’t know that would be the last time I saw them.
Idk i suspect theres more behind the scenes stuff that will keep them apart. I’d love to be wrong, but Tom basically publicly shoots down the idea any time its brought up on his ig questions.
I dont know if that will ever happen with Elijah passing away, but they were fucking awesome. Really cool guys too from the few interactions ive had with them.
The blood is unfortunately REALLY bad there, and every few months Jordan likes to make sure no one forgot. Maybe far, far down the line, but definitely not anytime soon. I like and enjoy both bands that came out of the split, and I know everyone likes to shit on Keith, but sobriety looks and sounds (vocally) great on him.
The Memphis scene back in the late nineties was so gross. Some rad bands that I still listen to, but I can still smell some of those squats and “venues”
Rob said he can’t be in the music industry anymore. It’s too stressful and will end up pushing him back to his vices.
They were supposed to do something with Pete from 100 Demons, but that never came to fruition.
That’s actually pretty awesome. I remember when he was living in Detroit after Boston and then having to bounce out of here. His addiction was wild from what I heard. Good for him for recognizing that and focusing on himself.
He’s such an honest person, it must be torture to be completely aware that “oh this thing I love, I can’t do it cause it’s just going to drive me insane.”
Why is this so low on this list. This band is criminally underrated during their time and presently.
Don't come at me with "pEoPlE lOvE tHeM nOw!". the fucking mongoloids have more upvotes than cursed.
Saw Expire in Atlanta in Atlanta in 2014. It was Backtrack/Harms Way/Expire/Turnstile/Freedom/Downpresser. Suburban scum may have been there but can’t remember. Vitalo kept telling people to move up because people weren’t close enough to catch people diving
It was hot as shit in the venue at Georgia tech. Windows inside all fogged up.
I was listening to Axe to grind (I think) and I swear they mentioned brand new have done some secret shows for fans and friends and would more than likely, at some point he doing shows again.
There was an interview with one of the guys where they said that if they ever did a reunion show, they’d probably have a female vocalist since any other guy would try too hard to sound like Peter Steele
Tim and Jesse are recording together with a new band Doom Regulator right now. They also played Sound System together in LA at a benefit show a year or so ago. I think an Op Ivy reunion at Riot Fest or No Values in the next three years is coming.
I think Jesse Michaels and Tim Armstrong occasionally get together. I can't see a full blown reunion, but I could imagine a Rancid set where Jesse shows up and sings a few Op Ivy songs.
Lol fr, there’s just too much hype. I’m willing to bet that their “breakup” will end up being like Bane’s and they’ll come back together every couple years or so to tour.
I've known Elliot for a very long time and I would be surprised if Gulch came back for more than a one off here and there
lots of us that came out of the SJ/SC scenes considered Gulch to be The Beatles of hardcore (in a good way) and if we couldn't talk them into sticking around I don't know how it's happening, literally everyone tried
The Cro-Mags with Harley JJ, Mackie, Doug and Parris. I was lucky enough to see them play their first ever UK gig and still one of my favourite gigs ever.
So many dope bands that I really miss seeing live but these two I’m fairly certain will never do a reunion show.
Go It Alone… Mark Palm is too content doing all his other passion projects.
Champion… ya, knowing what ol Jimmy boy was up to and that it’s all out there I don’t think he’ll ever be welcomed back into the scene even for a reunion show.
Fugazi
I believe if a Fugazi reunion was going to happen, it would have already. It's not about money. We are talking about one of the most principled bands to ever come around. They would do it for those who never got the opportunity to see them live, or even just because they wanted to.

lol. I love this take.
I paid 8 to see them. Sell outs.
Hope you got your money back!
Ian wouldn’t even talk to me. Rock star attitude smh.
They could easily book the show themselves if they wanted. They are all still active in music and have plenty of connections. Since they would probably play a handful of shows at most it wouldn’t really matter if they weren’t money making ventures. It would be so easy for them to play even if it didn’t make any money.
came here to upvote/say this I guess there's a chance because they do get together and jam sometimes but fuck me if the chance isn't low
MacKaye doesn’t strike me as the kinda guy who revisits his own projects. I think he’d prefer to preform whatever he’s working on now
They have been on hiatus longer than they were an active band.
Yeah, but you can go see Coriky instead, with Ian MacKaye and Joe Lally, doing something similar, but different and new. Fugazi is prolly my favorite band, but they were of a time and place that is long over and I’m glad they don’t do reunions.

Entombed
LG’s death was a fucking huge loss and I feel like death metal has a huge void from it
title fight
Give it time. I sense they will go to Have Heart route and reunite after a decade and play major fests.
I will join you in denial. It feels better than giving up hope. We'll see em someday :')
my take is that they went out on top and shouldn't come back. love em Though I am biasd as I was able to see em a bunch
you’re right. look at every other band from that sound and era and how they fell off; citizen, movements, turnover etc. it’s probably a good thing they called it at their peak imo

It’s way too early to write them off… folks never thought we’d see Have Heart again.
CarryOn
foundation
Just like Title Fight, it’s probably too early to write them off. I was convinced I’d never get to see Have Heart again.
Idk i suspect theres more behind the scenes stuff that will keep them apart. I’d love to be wrong, but Tom basically publicly shoots down the idea any time its brought up on his ig questions.
Inside Out
They posted on IG a while back they would be doing something this year. Never said what or who would even be in the band though.
[удалено]
Zack didn’t even fulfill his promise to RATM fans.
He didn’t even come out with the solo album that was promised.
Heard they just released a film. Forgive me.

I saw them at Riot Fest in Chicago. Lemmy's voice sounded rough, but it was still badass.
Seen them a bunch of a bunch of times. Never could bring myself to go to those last shows they did.
Saw them, Slayer, Slipknot, and Anthrax together in like 2013. I’ll never forget that
minor threat
Black Breath for me. I saw them at their album release show for Heavy Breathing and they just got better and better but I haven't seen them since
I dont know if that will ever happen with Elijah passing away, but they were fucking awesome. Really cool guys too from the few interactions ive had with them.
Worthwhile 🥲
They should’ve been bigger. Carry On Kid has no skips.
YOOOO love them. unlovable still in my que
love this band so fucking much
Wow this hurts to think about.
Real
Drive Like Jehu
I was lucky enough to catch them at Riot Fest 2015 while they were on their brief comeback.
Thankfully had a chance to see them twice when they reunited in 2014-15. INCREDIBLE shows. I’ll miss them.
Poison Idea with Pig and Slayer
Not without some serious smelling salts and a heater
Acid Bath
The Chariot
This, unfortunately
Long live
I can’t ever see a Backtrack reunion happening given what James is doing now
Came here to say Backtrack. I would LOVE to see them, never got the chance.
I'm outta the loop, what's he doin?
He runs the company that manages both Turnstile and Knocked Loose…and Basement and I think Harm’s Way… But ya, those first two
Hüsker Dü
Right now, probably Joshua Fit For Battle
Most screamo bands from that era are reuniting so nothing would surprise me anymore.
Necrophagist
Man came in, dropped 2 game changing records and dipped into the abyss.
Dystopia
Guns Up!
Cro-Mags AOQ Line up I actually don't even want it to happen anymore. But the question is what I love and won't ever reunite. So there's that.
Riot Fest, when they’re all in their 70s. It’ll be great, then they’ll either starting fucking or killing eachother
I love the AOQ Cro Mags, but John and Harley are two of the stupidest individuals out there. So self-absorbed.
JJ is way worse than Harley
Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza
Super fucking awesome show when they had that danza 1 and 2 lineup. That bass player was just gnarly to watch.
ETID
Maybe the Buckley brothers make up down the down road, but yeah, not the most hopeful sadly.
This might be the answer.
This IS the answer
Came here to say the same
Heartbreaking.
The carrier
His Hero is Gone
The Memphis scene back in the late nineties was so gross. Some rad bands that I still listen to, but I can still smell some of those squats and “venues”
Some absolute gems out of Memphis
Blood for blood
Rob said he can’t be in the music industry anymore. It’s too stressful and will end up pushing him back to his vices. They were supposed to do something with Pete from 100 Demons, but that never came to fruition.

He’s such an honest person, it must be torture to be completely aware that “oh this thing I love, I can’t do it cause it’s just going to drive me insane.”
There’s a reason for that…
There always is. Some reasons are better than others.
Gaza
Final Fight, Down to Nothing, Go It Alone, Allegiance, Set It Straight, Bent Life, Sharptooth 😭 God I have a whole list I’d revive
Damn I forgot to add Cruel Hand & Defeater 😭
Saw Defeater at outbreak last year. I cried
Cruel Hand still does a show or two every year, just gotta go to Maine to see em lol
I would probably pay upwards of 1k a ticket to see Final Fight again. Definitely number one on my "gone too soon" list.
Some Girls
Bolt Thrower
ty
Beastie Boys
Charles Bronson
Nah. It’ll make my unopened Youth Attack box set go down in value.
Cursed
Why is this so low on this list. This band is criminally underrated during their time and presently. Don't come at me with "pEoPlE lOvE tHeM nOw!". the fucking mongoloids have more upvotes than cursed.
Set it straight
Guns Up!
Modern Baseball 😔
First one I thought of. I hope they’re all taking care of themselves though.
Reign Supreme... I mean maybe they could have a reunion in the future idk
I did get to see their singer front for Shia Hulud at furnace fest a couple years ago that was dope
The mongoloids
And Kids like us and Casey Jones while we're at it.
Casey fucking jonessssss
Casey Jones would be sick, I’d be stoked to see Boys No Good do something again too. Never Felt Better is a banger of an album
Fuck, what I wouldn't give for that reunion
Set your goals
expire unless they do what suburban scum did. to see the pendulum swings live would be life changing. Same with bent life.
I'm sure Austin wouldn't mind fronting a 30th band. Someone get him on the line!
Saw Expire in Atlanta in Atlanta in 2014. It was Backtrack/Harms Way/Expire/Turnstile/Freedom/Downpresser. Suburban scum may have been there but can’t remember. Vitalo kept telling people to move up because people weren’t close enough to catch people diving It was hot as shit in the venue at Georgia tech. Windows inside all fogged up.
Pendulum Swings was the first hardcore album I really got into, I’d kill to see it live (minus the scumbag obviously)
Casey Jones
Good clean fun
I’ve been waiting 20 years for that reunion tour we were promised
They did the promised tour in 2010, in Europe, though.
The swarm
Brand New
I was listening to Axe to grind (I think) and I swear they mentioned brand new have done some secret shows for fans and friends and would more than likely, at some point he doing shows again.
Reddit suggested the brand new subreddit on my feed and it was a post that it was just Jesse Lacey playing a private show, not brand new as a whole.
You know the Brand New concert at Epstein's Island hits different
They're 100% playing shows again. It's an open sercet
Type O Negative
There was an interview with one of the guys where they said that if they ever did a reunion show, they’d probably have a female vocalist since any other guy would try too hard to sound like Peter Steele
Got to see them on Halloween at the troc in Philly off October rust and it’s still one of the best shows I’ve ever been to.
October Rust is such a banger. Possibly my favorite Type O record.
Killing the Dream
Bad seed
I miss Verse 😔
Punk, but Op Ivy
This would be amazing
Tim and Jesse are recording together with a new band Doom Regulator right now. They also played Sound System together in LA at a benefit show a year or so ago. I think an Op Ivy reunion at Riot Fest or No Values in the next three years is coming.
I think Jesse Michaels and Tim Armstrong occasionally get together. I can't see a full blown reunion, but I could imagine a Rancid set where Jesse shows up and sings a few Op Ivy songs.

Disagree man I really dont think it’s happening.
They did play that surprise set at the end of last year.
Trial
Why did I discover NoMeansNo super late 😢
I got to see them one time in 95 in Toronto. Amazing show.
You lucky bastard 😁

Leeway and Black Train Jack...or at least it wouldn't be with the original singers. RIP Eddie and Rob.
Oasis
Title fight 😢
Jukai
Betrayed
Seeing Rude Awakening again would be dope
The Cro-Mags with Harley JJ, Mackie, Doug and Parris. I was lucky enough to see them play their first ever UK gig and still one of my favourite gigs ever.
As annoying as CM drama can be, that lineup was untouchable live. Saw them twice on AOQ and it was insane.
BANE
Bane is playing Furnace Fest this year
And they also just released a new single
The weakerthans
Where Eagles Dare (AZ). I was obsessed with their album To Come From Nowhere in the 00s.
ETID
The Kinks
Also a shame that this is one of the few bands from that era that nobody covers now. But yeah I’d be in the pileup for Muswell Hillbilly and Victoria.
G.L.O.S.S.
Blitz & Warzone
Killing the Dream unfortunately. Boys Night Out, Horror Show also
Fear before & Casey jones
Warzone!
His Hero Is Gone
