Reptiles, thanks to their cold blooded nature have the innate ability to cut off circulation to limbs in the case of amputation. Chances are, the croc will go on living with only the smallest of inconvenience. They're also highly resistant to infection.
Thatd be attributing a subconscious function too much credit. In the vital time it would take for a procedure like that to be activated severe bloodless would make it possibly too slow.
It's very much just a function cold blooded bodies have, an advantage to the tradeoffs. It's like you saying breathing automatically is something you (always) do manually. Crocodilians for example have to breath manually, meaning they arent ever completely unconscious.
They're killing machines by instinct, they've barely changed for hundreds of millions of years and there are many reasons for that.
I think it's more of a biological thing where the blood vessels contract and collapse quickly. I don't think there is a value that has a mussel that closes off the blood flow.
Just want to point that not all reptiles are cold blooded. In fact more living species of the crown group of reptiles are warm blooded than cold blooded. Even crocs are only secundarily cold blooded. Meaning their ancestors weren't cold blooded.
Ancestral Mesotherms based on recent bone histology studies. Or in other words, like tegus, they could create their own body heat but didn't have a "fixed" body temperature.
Holup, you can't claim "going along with it" credit when your comment has been corrected.. My reply's been done dirty! Shenanigans, that's what this is!
Alot of predators have well evolved clothing, safer break-off points, heart rate/BP decreasing, local vasoconstriction or other similar adaptations for injuries if intraspecies violence is common in their behavior.
IKR?! He's just like - "I cant belive you have done this! ..... You know she throws a meat to all of us right?" D:

No, but the offending croc looks guilty as Hell... He can't even look him in the eye after that.
🐊💬 - "Yeah, I know, Dave... I just heard something land in that vicinity, and I was hungry... Plus, you smell different today : I didn't know that was you."
idk really, i have never been with a crocodile. but with my judgement of the animals i have saw in the wild, most of these acts are just natural instinct. you may be righ but crocs eyes arent that bad to not be able to differenciate between whats food and whats another croc limb
Me, watching the dumb croc that missed the meat thrown at it and gnaws at the ground. *Rewatches 3x
On second watch, me wondering why the arm is still attached.
Ok watch 3 I noticed it's just a small piece that came off.
In Croc society, this is considered a dick move
stubby agrees *"quit calling me that guys!"*
What about in Hey Dude society?
*Really Jeff?*
I seen many of those vids but I always wondered why it never bleed ? Bro got his arm ripped off and he doesn’t care much nor bleed

I would love to know how it works in brain, like: "oh my limb is gone, shut the valves, this is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill!"

I wonder how do they know that crocodiles breathe consciously/manually?
*same was as dolphins!*
So can vets or animal control not sedate a croc without it dying?
This guy crocs.
Lizard brain: no thought, only survive

Yeah, birds and crocs are both archosaurs which are mainly ancestrally mesothermic or endothermic.

Damn, that's amazing that how they can turn missing limbs into small conveniences
Grammar but going along with it, that other croc got a convenient snack.

God they’re apex as fuck no wonder archer was terrified of them
Small inconvenience? He can’t walk straight. Everything is with a limp.
> the croc will go on living with only the smallest of convenience ...You mean inconvenience?
I did, I wasn't really watching the grammar of what I wrote, it was late.
It’s only a flesh wound!

And always seem like it’s a just nuisance, but not like they just had a traumatic life changing accident…
He ain’t got time to bleed
Son of a bitch is dug in like an Alabama Tick
I went up to my girlfriend's the other day and I said "You know, I'd like to get a little p*ssy" and she said "Me too, mines as big as a house!".
You know, she wanted a little one, because hers.....
Was as big as a house?
That’s a real nasty habit ya got there
Sergeant Slaughter approves this message
Because dinosaurs
If you loose a arm you want it pulled off not sliced. Because the veins are stretch and self close from the stretching.
The way it looks over after like "what the fuck dude"

The look he gives at the end like "really, Bob? My arm? That's what how today is gonna go?"
This section make me think of the youtube section where i've saw this video
Bro doesn't even look that pissed off.
Just disappointed.
"Really Carl, really?"

Are they blind? Just really bad depth perception? The one “near” the fish was acting like he got it and was no where near it
They’re like a bunch of sensitive mouse traps.
Why is this so funny and incredibly accurate lol
natural instinct i believe.
On further examination it looks like maybe the sun could be playing a role?

It was a misinput, MISINPUT YOU CALM THE FUCK DOWN!
Ah yes because throwing a single piece of flesh in there for more than 3 crocs is perfect

Yeah there’s certainly a better way to feed them. This seems like a chode move.
Thanks for helping us understand that Coyote Peterson.
He didn’t look like he cared and was just like “Again Tom? This is the third time this month.”
He really did have the vibe that this was just a recurring inconvenience
Tough as nails
Pro tip: don’t put your arm in a crocs mouth. Even if you are also a croc.
Does this apply to Killer Croc In Suicide Squad?
Likely and maybe especially
Lol
Your arm’s off

Crocs are so uncharismatic.
Best attack name ever
Maybe he shouldn't have put his arm in the other crocs mouth?
You always blame the victim? S/
Bruh😐
So that's what eating a bro out means
Me, watching the dumb croc that missed the meat thrown at it and gnaws at the ground. *Rewatches 3x On second watch, me wondering why the arm is still attached. Ok watch 3 I noticed it's just a small piece that came off.
Tis but a scratch
I don't think I ever saw this without the bs rappaport voice over
Wrong snack pal
Really Larry!?
The baby crying xD
It'll grow back like a frog.
The way he looked at him in the end like: “Bro… you did NOT just rip my arm off!…”
My guys like: Y bruv?
Will it grow back?
Nein
Ribs grow back! (no zey don't)
“Damn wtf is your problem today, Earl?”
"Goddammit, Frank"
Croc: You're full now? All good my homie.
I love the victim's response " did you just .....excuse me....sir......SIR... don't swal.......ugh..."
Once again proving we missed out on all the cool traits 😭
"Bruh"
Is there anything other than a fucking steel beam that can withstand a death-roll?
Croc woke up n chose violence
“What the fuck Jerry!” “…”
I had to watch it twice bc the first time I was too focused on the guy in the back eating the fish so heartily
“My expectations for you were low but holy shit, Robert”
Do they not bleed from a torn off arm?
Croc: Larry? Again? This is getting old now. Croc 2: Sorry. Won’t happen again. Croc: You said that LAST time!
Serious Q - do crocs attack each other like this much?
