A with most real world artillery, it comes down to accuracy by volume of fire. The more rounds you have incoming, the more likely you are to land a hit
Absolutely worth it. Makes bile titans super easy to deal with. Just make sure you have their aggro, stand close to them and throw just in front as they stop to spew. Dodge spew, stand up, salute, watch them get 1 shot
Okay it's smaller than I thought. I thought it was a huge ass keypad until I saw your hand pressing it. But then again, you could be a giant and I wouldn't know.
I am not the biggest fan of macros but I agree that these are cool and I give you 2 thumbs up on making these. Use them to your hearts content cause you've earned it.
WHATS UP GUYS ITS YA BOI HELLDIVER BACK WITH ANOTHER REVIEW/UNBOXING/TUTORIAL I WANNA SAY THANKS TO TODAYS SPONSOR PCBWAY AND BEFORE WE GET INTO THE VIDEO I JUST WANNA SAY SMASH THAT REINFORCEMENTS AND 500KG BOMB BUTTON, ALRIGHT, LETS GET INTO IT. *2 minute long dubstep stinger*
Are these the world's most crispy stratagem?
Let's find out.
[Helldiver looking at the camera for 1 minute straight while the intro music plays.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVSaFHk6aVk)
Okey, Here ne Out, create an big, red "oh Shit"-button, and when you slam that big, shiny, red butten. You Not only activate the 500kg bomb, you also automatically throw it at your own Feed and Salute. Die in Style, For Super Earth
Make them smaller! And put every single one in the game on one board!
You should be able to hit the wrong thing like the rest of us in the heat of battle!
There are only two Democratic means of calling in stratagems: inputting the Dance Dance Revolution code or big honkin' button. Anything else is anti-liberty and definitely not a Brasch tactic.
I couldn't pass up the fun of smashing a giant button on my desk to call in the bomb. I posted all the files over on makerworld so anyone can print whatever buttons they like!
My brain somehow immediately committed the reinforcement input to subconscious memory. I can call it in right away if I don't pay attention to the input. But the moment I try to enter it deliberately, it takes like 3 tries minimum. Wtf...
Because I don't use macros I have a chance to fail using a stratagem either by error or delay, while you just use a workaround to instantly get them 100% of the time. This reduces from the comedy of the game as you do not get trampled as easily while trying to save the team or even accidentally call in the wrong one due to a hectic moment. That is the spirit of the game as it doesn't have a simple directional input or hotkey for the stratagems like the stims. I also personally feel like it's a bit sweaty in a fun co-op game with all these opportunities to kill yourself or your team in so many amusing ways
the "sweaty" equals bad debate needs to die, people take all kinds of games seriously and try really hard to become the best in it.
i know there has been some controversy but most just wanna optimize their experience and as long as they don't affect you negatively that should be totally fine
Irrational hate from the community is funny.
You want your team mate to fumble your clutch reinforcement? That is what you want? No? You OK with a macro in that situation? Thought so.
Because it kinda goes against the spirit of the game. The chaotic fights are part of the charm, and the way we drop stratagems contributes to that chaos, making it a macro just makes this game closer to a generic pve shooter. And sure, it may not be noticable if one person on your team uses macros, but if the community wasn't against it, more people would use them, and personally I think playing with 3 people using macros just wouldn't be as fun as playing with 3 people not using them.
>The chaotic fights are part of the charm, and the way we drop stratagems contributes to that chaos - -
I once tried to call a reinforcement and dropped it right on top of us, turns out my fingers decided that it was time for an airstrike instead. Only I survived.
Yes, but that's the keyword. Practice. If highly skilled players in a shooter game can hit every shot, does that justify using an aimbot? After all with practice you can achieve pretty much the same effect.
Notice how I didn't mention pvp at all. Would you be fine with people using an aimbot in HD2 then? It's not pvp, it is also an unfair advantage, albeit a more extreme one than stratagem macros.
"albeit a more extreme one" Also, not an unfair advantage. The difference between macros and aimbots is that aimbots actually do ruin the experience for other players. You can't even notice when people use macros. You only know people use macros because people said they use macros. You wouldn't care or know if no one said anything.
Yea frankly I play on PS5 and wouldn’t know how to use macros even if I wanted too but frankly at least for me it doesn’t really bother me one way or another if my team is using them
Macros make the game accessible (I'm dyslexic and it takes me a minute to read them because the arrows are so similar 😭😭😭)... Plus KB&M players literally can't call on stratagems whilst moving like controller players can, so it kinda balances timings out (see also: it's a pve game. It's not net limiting, it's not hacking, or otherwise cheating... And even if it was, you're only cheating yourself).
Kb&M players can move while calling them in, you just need to change the keybinds, ideally to the arrow keys, which still limits you by taking a hand off the mouse but it means you can still move a little. Took me a while to get used to the swap but I’m pretty much as proficient with the arrows now as I was with Wasd inputs if I just take away how I sometimes put my hand in the wrong place, but I feel like that’s just me not being used to my keyboard.
noob question but I just got this keyboard and I can't seem to macro strategems (like maybe the first 2 directions work then nada). How did you macro yours?
It works best if your record the macros your self, then tweak the times between the button presses to speed it up. If it gets entered too fast, it won't work. I would take a screenshot of my macros for you, but I'm a couple of hundred miles away from my PC right now
Macros on macro buttons are valid. You get away with i this time, soldier.
Jokes aside, I do really love the idea of smashing a huge button just to get a teammate back on the field or for a mini-nuke strike x)
I think in this case 2 macros are fine, plus this project is creative!
Where I think macros become a problem is when you macro *everything* and completely take away the experience of getting the combos right. It would be like making a script that auto-blocks or parries at the right time in a soul-like combat game.
On the flipside, I totally understand needing macros for people who are disabled, where doing the combos might not be entirely feasible.
I think they'll change their minds once they experience being surrounded by 3 tanks, 3 hulks, a small army of red eyed socialists, a few rocket spamming douchebags, and having to enter their stratagems 10 times under fire because of orbital fluctuations.
That's pretty fucking cool btw.
The only thing I wanna know is, can I smash them with some real force? and does the reinforcement button also work for letting my teammates know I'm death again cause they called an eagle on me?!
I would never approve of such bot behaviour.
But hear me out, what if it's like a side keypad like this. XD

Gotta make the 500kilo button change all bedroom lights to red and have an alarm sound. True panic button.
Nah that would be for the 120mm and the 380mm HE Orbital. Notorious for hitting you and/or your teammates and nothing else.
The trick is 3 people throwing a 380 at once with one person throwing the orbital laser. Nothing lives anywhere
Sounds spicy, now i'll just have to try and convince the others to run the 380
A with most real world artillery, it comes down to accuracy by volume of fire. The more rounds you have incoming, the more likely you are to land a hit
380mm has the CEP of a battleship shooting at maximum range.
Is the 500kg worth it? Seems like only one use per mission wouldn't go over well.
It's not 1 per mission, it's 1 per re-arm of Eagle (2 with a fully upgraded hangar)
Absolutely worth it. Makes bile titans super easy to deal with. Just make sure you have their aggro, stand close to them and throw just in front as they stop to spew. Dodge spew, stand up, salute, watch them get 1 shot
the shredder would wipe the whole screen in HD1 :( i hope it returns for HD2
Look. If you have to smash them in fine with it. I wanna hear you smash them tho
Yeah I think as long as OP's smashing the button every time it's valid.
Like a super villain pressing a button he either has to slam his fist down on it or slowly reach down and press it while maniacally laughing
Like J. Jonah Jameson smashing his desk, demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
its very cool....but seems suspiciously AUTOMATon
` NOTHING HERE SEEMS SUSPICIOUS AT ALL, FELLOW HUMAN `

What??? You must be blind to not see the banned workings of Issac Asimov in this creation. It dreams of electric sheep, i reckon!

*british or other european accent*
Need me a big red danger button for calling in 380mm.
Can you make 4 of them? Each one with a big white arrow in a different direction.
BRB, 3D printing a finger sized DDR mat.
> 3D printing a finger sized DDR mat *The arrow keys sitting un-used since you first bought your keyboard 4 years ago.*

While I cannot condone the use of macros, I do approve these buttons
Those are awesome
Honestly I can input the reinforcement stratagem so fast I don't need a macro
Haha yeah that one I also have at the ready.
Very cool!
God tier macro maker
Traitor detected
Make them smaller! And put every single one in the game on one board! You should be able to hit the wrong thing like the rest of us in the heat of battle!
It's cute and it must be cool to smash them but it's still too easy.
There are only two Democratic means of calling in stratagems: inputting the Dance Dance Revolution code or big honkin' button. Anything else is anti-liberty and definitely not a Brasch tactic.
Play to have fun. Macro buttons are fun.
Cheating
That’s a clean design, but I would have done resupply instead of 500kg bomb. Also macros? Sounds like a skill issue.
I couldn't pass up the fun of smashing a giant button on my desk to call in the bomb. I posted all the files over on makerworld so anyone can print whatever buttons they like!
Those are cool. However, macros are weak af. I am conflicted.
why the fuck do people care about macros???
People seem to think that their ability to remember a handful of directional inputs is a skill.
The amount of times I’ve messed up a button input for stratagems is too high because I can’t remember any of them :/
My brain somehow immediately committed the reinforcement input to subconscious memory. I can call it in right away if I don't pay attention to the input. But the moment I try to enter it deliberately, it takes like 3 tries minimum. Wtf...
Omg sameeeeeee
this is so dumb like it doesn't impact anyone negatively and only benefits the user
Because I don't use macros I have a chance to fail using a stratagem either by error or delay, while you just use a workaround to instantly get them 100% of the time. Assuming we wouldn’t die to stand up for our beliefs is rude
It's Helldivers, we just die
It is what I want
Those are actually really cool, frankly in a co-op game I don’t understand why people care so much?
Because it kinda goes against the spirit of the game. And now you have a story, you wouldn't have one with a macro :)
Exactly!
I doubt you'd even be able to tell the difference. With practice, people can input the arrow keys pretty fast.
Yes, but that's the keyword. Practice. If highly skilled players in a shooter game can hit every shot, does that justify using an aimbot? After all with practice you can achieve pretty much the same effect.
Oh, I didn't realise Helldivers 2 had a pvp mode where you can get an unfair advantage over players. That's definitely a good comparison /s.
Notice how I didn't mention pvp at all. Would you be fine with people using an aimbot in HD2 then? It's not pvp, it is also an unfair advantage, albeit a more extreme one than stratagem macros.

Goes against the spirit of the game, why cheat in a coop game?
Dunno frankly a team mate comes in a match with these I wouldn’t know one way or another. Doesn’t bother me.
Macros make the game accessible (I'm dyslexic and it takes me a minute to read them because the arrows are so similar 😭😭😭)... Plus KB&M players literally can't call on stratagems whilst moving like controller players can, so it kinda balances timings out (see also: it's a pve game. Rebind your keys... I put mine on arrow keys and now I can move and use them.
Even opening the stratagem menu stops all movement... I can give that a shot next time I'm on, but Idk if that's it
It only stops movement if your strategems are bound to wasd. Once you rebind them, wasd allows you to move always
This is the way.
Oh shit, that's wild LOL
Kb&M players can move while calling them in, you just need to change the keybinds, ideally to the arrow keys, which still limits you by taking a hand off the mouse but it means you can still move a little. no idc if you use macros, everyone should be allowed to play the game like they want, barring extreme cases like hacking/cheating I guess
noob question but I just got this keyboard and I can't seem to macro strategems (like maybe the first 2 directions work then nada). How did you macro yours?
It works best if your record the macros your self, then tweak the times between the button presses to speed it up. If it gets entered too fast, it won't work. I would take a screenshot of my macros for you, but I'm a couple of hundred miles away from my PC right now
I see! Thanks. I'll try using 500ms as base per stroke then adjust from there

Despite what the “gatekeepers” say, these look good (and fun). Super Earth approves of your ingenuity soldier.
How is it gatekeeping? Unless you have a valid reason to, don't.
Oh the irony
That’s not how the game was intended to be played it was made with inputs for a reason and is without a doubt cheating
Again, the irony
You aren’t using that word right
I am, I assure you.
I think they'll change their minds once they experience being surrounded by 3 tanks, 3 hulks, a small army of red eyed socialists, a few rocket spamming douchebags, and having to enter their stratagems 10 times under fire because of orbital fluctuations. That's pretty fucking cool btw.
Hell nah
A vice with the best craftsmanship that can be offered is still reduced to only a vice in the eyes of liberty
Now I want to see Stratagem keycaps for escape button or something like that.
Was already thinking about it! Good job!!
The only thing I wanna know is, can I smash them with some real force? and does the reinforcement button also work for letting my teammates know I'm death again cause they called an eagle on me?!
You can smash as hard as you want.
Thank God! If only I had a SO that would say that.
I need to hear a squad mate scream “PUNCH IT” before a large piece of ordinance slams into the earth.
You better be hot mic-ing and I better hear you smash them. Or I swear to God, I'll report you to the Democracy Representative.
Anyone else notice that reinforcements is an infinity sign?
Make it a 50x50cm square with 4 changable buttons, then we will talk, I wana slam that button with my fisr and call it down from the sky
Can you strap it to your wrist?
Wish I could use them on ps5 tbh
I would never approve of such bot behaviour. But hear me out, what if it's like a side keypad like this. XD https://preview.redd.it/edymkc8cx1mc1.png?width=771&format=png&auto=webp&s=909ddbbb0d73fff8ed11b0660868780f77e863c6
As long as it sounds like you're actually hitting the big red button
...okay these are allowed
i hope theyre rock solid, i would hammer these buttons hard and often
Wait could I do this with an elgato streamdeck?
