I literally said same thing few hours ago in replies here on Reddit under some post as that guy in OPs post. It seems like community is also connected on telepathic level.
This is the same trick every other company uses lol It really isn't difficult however it does show just how out of touch Sony is to their customer base.
Because MBAs require no actual experience or sense. You have a bunch of people that just go straight from a bachelor's degree in some useless field into a master's degree, then they work at some dumbfuck consultant agency that tells companies "yeah, if you layoff half of your workforce, your Q2 profits will be massive!"
Then they move on to the next bloodbank to suck from. MBAs have unironically ruined the world.
Even Sony would find a way to screw that up. There was a playstation exclusive gun for Destiny (or Destiny 2, can't remember, might not matter tbh) where this handgun was just the absolute best handgun outside of a few absurdly high rated endgame weapons.
When the game went onto Xbox, they made the gun for everyone, but they nerfed it so hard that it was more useless than your starting base level gun at high levels.
Even if Sony were to give someone an exclusive anything, they'd find a way to screw it up.
Yep said it at the start of the whole thing as well. Imagine how many more PSN signups they wouldve had if they just gave us incentive to do it, instead of forcing our hands. But Sony execs are incapable of thinking creatively. Completely out of touch with anyone outside their office.
Let's be real it's not just Sony execs, if more execs actually did think, then more businesses would actually be staffed effectively for a significantly improved long term. All they care about are the quarterly numbers
Yep. Its the only metric they are measured on. Theres no metric that asks how many positive experiences you created for your customers etc. Its just MONEY. Thats all. So it does make sense for them to only focus on the metric they are measured on. But its sad that it is that way for sure.
It's not that everyone can see an obvious solution, it's that *everyone has already seen this solution.* Many many times over. Pretty much every mobile game does this with various forms of social media, some of the big players like Riot games did this with allistar/tristana/j4 skins. It's not just a random idea being thrown out, it's a tried and true solution with a long list of samples to pull from.
They're both obvious solutions. In fact, Sony has done this with Spider-Man. It's not like Sony chose some obscure method with HD2. The method they chose works for every other game that has account-linking on game launch, the issue is that they turned it off and sold the game in restricted regions. Let's not pretend that had linking remained mandatory from the jump, this would've been a big issue. People in restricted regions would've realized what was going on and just refunded within the grace period.
it would go from, 'were going to ban you if you dont make an account with us' to 'heres some free shit, have at it'
they could have just bribed the problem away.
ive said it before, currently i have 0 reasons to make an account that i have no use for. i dont want another account i'll have to reset the password for if i do ever need it in the future because i'll forget it if i dont use it
atleast epic gives me half decent free shit every now and then for annoying me with their exclusivity deals
*Would have been a simple trick
Doubt this alone would solve the issue now, they got to accept their mistakes, fix it, and show an effort to rebuild trust.
It's not necessarily a fix at this point, so much as a "anyone else watching, learn from Sony's mistake" kind of suggestion.
An initial carrot always would have been better than later on getting a stick. Sony opted for the stick.
What's funny is...Sony did exactly that in the past...With GTA 5.
Having a linked PS account with the game gave you an exclusive Submarine back then.
Some people even made a business of selling PSN accounts with GTA 5 on record to PC players so they could unlock it.
In a phone game I play you can get 200 crystals for linking your facebook account. For context, 200 crystals is worth like... $1.40 or so if you buy them through the game. Or worth roughly the same as doing 1/5th of the daily activities. Almost everyone has their FB linked as a results.
I wish I got into Sly Cooper as a kid. Might have to grab a PS3 and play through them (before someone says "just stream on PSplus", Australia didn't get PS3 games or streaming in our PS Plus subscriptions. And they refuse to upload the PS2 versions of Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, etc.)
Cool as that would be, too many simulations are tied to hitbox, so changing the dodge animation so drastically would be *extremely* shit insofar as balance goes.
Like, just as an example; going prone reduces explosive damage, and *doesn't* have I-frames, so suddenly having a dodge *with* I-frames but *no* reduction to explosive damage (because not going prone) introduces a whole *slew* of problems.
Doomguy is owned by Xbox now so that is unlikely to happen. You could make good God of War-themed spartan armour by filling in some of the gaps to keep the faceless expendables theme consistent.
Do you really expect publically traded corpo execs to do the logical thing, that could mean a sustainable model, instead of trying to maximize profits for shareholders asap?
i remember saying this when the whole thing started

Have someone take a day or less to make a cape and give everyone it for free? That might bankrupt Sony having that one cap designed. “Just give us your email so we can spam it and sell it to other companies and have a data breach
There is the issue that people don't want to be left without an option. If people are given an ultimatum, they'll often respond very negatively.
I think there wouldn't even have been as big an issue if they'd kept the PSN requirements from the start. There are already plenty of games that require extra accounts, and while people aren't fond of it and it probably leads to fewer sales overall with different region locks, if they're honest and clear about it up front then most people will be fine with it, because they can just not buy the game if they don't want to do it.
But tell people you're going to revoke their access to play a game unless they do something that wasn't an immediate and clear requirement, then people are going to get upset.
Also that distinction may have ended up being legally relevant if Sony has stuck to their guns, so it's not without reason what people assign it extra weight.
Yeah, sadly Sony either didnt think of that or plain rejected it because they thought people just do it, now though they would be at a point at which they would have to admit its a shitshow, and god knows Corporations hate admitting fuck ups.
Don't forget, they never anticipated this level of success. They planned for 40K players and got 400K.
Also, this would never have been a problem if they hadn't turned off the PSN requirement. Anyone who bought the game in an unsupported region would have just gotten an immediate refund once they realized they couldn't make a PSN account.
I do honestly wonder if the game ever would have had this level of success if the PSN requirement had been active from the start.
The thing they don't mention is how many of the connection login and stability issues were caused by constantly checking the PSN logins. That's why it got disabled in the first place.
And why it continued to stay disabled. Turning it on apparently puts stress on the server, which would have made things worse in the early weeks. Had Sony handled this a little better, they could have gotten their psn accounts with less drama by keeping it optional. Forcing everyone to do so was never gonna go down well.
>Forcing everyone to do so was never gonna go down well.
Would've worked fine if the servers could handle it and they left it on. That was the only issue. Having mandatory account-linking before you can play the game never stopped any other publisher.
Yes people would just created a fake psn account and play but people would still bitch about the connection issue and review bomb the game like they did
It is weird they went this way when every other game of theirs has such cosmetic incentives. If you look on their site all PC games are available on Steam+Epic and have cosmetic rewards for linking, except Helldivers. They must have an unique contract with them or something
There's nothing wrong with their original intent. It never stopped people from playing GTA5 or RDR2, for example. The issue is that their original intent didn't play out. They turned off the requirement at launch and people bought the game thinking there was no requirement. That's the only issue.
As for why they chose the mandatory rather than incentive method, it's rather obvious. You get 100% of accounts playing linked.
I didn’t expect the response they gave
https://preview.redd.it/pixsbi6w4tyc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=47b497b2ca398970c18d33adbbbd02bb9686f780
Japanese corporations in particular will never admit they fucked up. All of the pushback is likely just strengthening their resolve to force account creation.
Sony probably wants 100% accurate player stats, full moderator control, stuff like that.
If only 75% of the playerbase makes a PS+ account, Sony doesn't get what they're looking for.
30% is coming off the top immediately via unsupported regions. Then they're losing people who have been disillusioned and people refunding in support of people we lost. They're coming away with a much smaller slice of the pie.
This is correct. From a data perspective you want everything you can get your hands on.
Having any of it optional will just create data that is much harder to interpret. So yeah, even though making it rewarding to sign up for PSN will reduce the rage it wouldn't serve Sony's purposes.
Also people who can't make PSN accounts will be complaining that they can't get goodies, although the backlash would probably be significantly less
Some padded armor or a cape/helmet aren’t worth throwing a fit over. It’s a small irrelevant bonus. Makes people that can more likely to. People who can’t probably won’t see it much anyways since they’ll be playing with others in their region
It's funny because Mojang/Microsoft already did the 'free thing if you do X'.
They gave people "Migrator cape" when they converted to microsoft account.
I’d be ok if they rerelease the blue armor and call it psn armor and give it away to anyone that links their account if it meant all this depressing stuff goes away.
https://preview.redd.it/ftxzn8pplpyc1.jpeg?width=702&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0249ba1741649be80459d322fd9058b0baf19a22
I just want to go back to the old days mannnn before this stupid psn thing man without worrying about getting banned cuz I’m not on the countries that has psn support, I was so hyped for the warbond and had friends that was going to join soon but can’t cuz region lock hit, its bullshit.
You won't get banned, the reason that Chinese player got banned is because his account was hacked. Not because he used a VPN/link PSN to helldiver.
SONY has always turned a blind eye to unsupported region registering PSN.
People here have been saying this for days. It's not this big revelation. Sony is just stupid. Games do this all the time. "Hey, free item. Link your account." You get good will and can freely sell their data after.
I'm just upset that people are leaving the game. I love the game. And I'm sure everyone else that has been playing it loves it too. That's why it hurts so frickin much that Sony screwed this up and making people leave, either because they don't have psn in their region, or because they don't want to create or link their account.
I was in a depressive state for awhile, and no video games (which is a hobby of mine) really were clicking with me. This game changed that and I met so many cool people and made more friends online. It felt good to game again, with such an amazing community. I'm am so frickin sad to see people leave, it hurts. And it's not even their fault for leaving either....
You know that blue armor?
Make one that's a Playstation armor. You get a lot more actual accounts that way.
At least that becomes a conversation of "Welp, I can't get the Playstation exclusive armor."
Probably a little drama and memes, probably a couple of idiots killing the ones with the blue cape or something (we have seen it done before, remember the cape we got for free?), but that should have ended there.
It's literally that simple. It probably would have had something like a 70+% sign up rate. Instead they will cull 30% of their base immediately once it becomes unplayable in all unsupported regions, permanently alienated many of their playerbase, and started a movement debilitating one of the studios they working with.
And why? Because this was about asserting the power they held over AH. I can promise you one of the first handful of suggestions on the table from AH devs was exactly this. It's such a common tactic that pretty much every single mobile game employs it in one form or another. And mobile gaming makes up *the majority of the gaming market.*
Imagine armor inspired by Kratos, ratchet and clank, Ghost of Tsushima, and more. Kat from gravity rush and Patapon would get me so hyped but those would never happen.
This was exactly what I was thinking. People hate being forced or being punished. Giving pc players an incentive to do it instead of making it mandatory and not doing so would stop you from playing a game you paid for would have caused little to no controversy
Problem is, this was not just about the numbers.
Both sony and the some people at arrowhead, wanted us to sign the sony terms of service, that would allow them to ban what they considered toxic players.
These would be people steam do not ban, because according to them they are not toxic.
It was about control.
Why do they think controlling the players are more important than making a good game or making money?
No idea. But apparently they put it higher on the list of wants.
And they where willing to lose I guess 10+% (people outside of sony zones) of the player base, to do it.
I do not think they expected this much of a backlash, but they where still willing to throw away at least 10% of plaer base and money to do it.
I think it's going to be significantly more than 10%. I know people personally that play on steam and have psn accounts, but are now refusing to link the account, just because of all of this. If I know like 3 people personally, imagine how many more out there are doing the same. Honestly, Sony needs to fix this shit, but unfortunately I don't believe they want to.
Hell I havent touched my PSN account in about 10 years since I gave away my PS3. No way on earth I'm going to go digging it up out of some crypt just to play the game.
SONY decision is probably not made specifically for helldivers. But for a long term and bigger plan like the how to capture PC market with SONY/PS ecosystem.
To SONY it's important to set the expectation that PSN is needed to play a SONY game online. In the long run this will allow them to smoothly introduce PC audience to new PS services since they probably already have a PSN from playing SONY titles. Tbh SONY is years late on this after Ubi and EA already tried and kinda failed.
See xbox game pass where everyone already has microsoft account.
In future SONY might even setup their own store on PC, so they don't need to pay steam 30%.
This is what I’ve been saying, if they had just released it and added a good cosmetic or weapon as a reward for linking it everyone would go out of their way to do it and then you’d have to whole playerbase signing up for PlayStation accounts on their own free will.
I was thinking this last night. "What am I getting for linking my account?" Nothing.
"If Sony had offered me some super credits per month for linking (some games give in-game currency for setting up TFA) would I be willing to?"
My answer was "Maybe." Getting Sony specific cosmetics for linking would have been a much easier pil to swallow, and instead of making it mandatory, you "bribe" people into linking and don't lose much PR.
Sony's CEO needs better advisers..
Like I said, there aren't games that let you install them but then require Steam to run.
They provide a service and people think it's worth using, no enforcement required.
Apparently a lot of places with power that want more stop trying to make a good product/service and just focus on squeezing every last penny out of their consumers.
This person and anyone who agrees gravely misjudges the online community, there absolutely would be backlash, not as severe but there would be a lot.
Any country with no access to PSN immediately loses access to the cosmetic, some people will refund whole games just because of Eula agreements, they would not be happy with this either.
This goes to show that not a single person in charge over there has the players' interests at heart. They just see them as a number on a metric and not someone trying to enjoy media. There's no love in the industry outside of indy dev teams.
Remember that time sony secretly installed a root kit on your PC if you bought their movies or music, so you couldn't rip them to your hard drive?
They haven't changed.
If this was done literally nobody would have cared, some steam users would 100% sign up for the cape while others wouldnt. But sony wouldnt have gotten what they wanted. To uo their numbers as much as possible by forcing every pc player to sign up to their platform by using one of the most popular current games 🤣 would have been more succesful than it ended up to be at least.
Yeah, I just want it to go away. Met someone online and they are really cool, and now I'll never be able to play with them again because no psn in their region. It fucking sucks and it hurts.
They did this with minecraft they gave capes altho there's still some friction but not as big as this. And they gave players 2 years before they purged the accounts that dont have a microsoft account linked to it.
But again it's still not comparable as making a microsoft account is available on alot of countries compared to the PSN abhorrent exclusivity
I think the problem Dan is forgetting is that people like him don’t become executives. Usually most of these people are yes men and getting the job done by any means necessary type of people. They don’t make room for people who want to feel something for the community. You don’t rise to the top by gaining everyone’s trust… you gotta step on some to get there.
These people are always looking to make fast money and deal with the backlash later.
Arrowhead, get in a meeting with Sony and convince them to change it so that it is like this instead of mandatory (if you can do that, I really do not know how this works)
CDPR did it for cyberpunk, you got a wolf t-shirt and a sword for v. Even gacha games know that it's easier to convince users with prizes, which is why many of them give pulls if you enable TFA. Sony is way behind in terms of understanding their community.
Honestly idk what they could do for that, also it would be asking the arrowhead to basically apologize for Sony by making content for it. Everyone gets the same stuff to work with in Helldivers and that’s what’s great about it. But Sony should have given some kind of benefit for creating an account. But really they fucked everything up from the start by selling the game in non psn countries so there’s almost nothing that they can do except cave because that’s horseshit.
It's a simple trick but effective People don't like being told what to do but people love gifts and prizes It also solves the region exclusivity
I literally said same thing few hours ago in replies here on Reddit under some post as that guy in OPs post. It seems like community is also connected on telepathic level.
Ditto! I had mentioned just throw in a pretty cape if you sign up or sign in with psn account lol. WE CAN BE BRIBED. lmao
Lol, that's literally the same idea I posted as well. How is it we were able to figure this out but the MBAs butt fumbled it?
This is the same trick every other company uses lol It really isn't difficult however it does show just how out of touch Sony is to their customer base.
no they just want the data sony has exclusive wings for genshin impact so they know about that stuff
Because MBAs require no actual experience or sense. HELLDIVER TO HELLDIVER COMMUNICATION
Yeah but why bribe people and spend time and money when you can treat them like shit and just brute force them to obey and like it? /s
Even Sony would find a way to screw that up. We aren't telepathically linked, we all just share the same singular brain cell. Now give it up, your 30 minutes with it are up and it's *my* turn
Your 30 minutes are up, it's my turn
Here you gggg-uh-oooooooo-...
Moo-ooommm, he's hogging the brain cell! It's MY turn!
MUAHAHAHAHA I'VE STOLEN THE BRAINCELL
It would have also been fine if PSN was mandatory to use crossplay, i'd just play without crossplay.
it would go from, 'were going to ban you if you dont make an account with us' to 'heres some free shit, have at it' they could have just bribed the problem away. ive said it before, currently i have 0 reasons to make an account that i have no use for. i dont want another account i'll have to reset the password for if i do ever need it in the future because i'll forget it if i dont use it atleast epic gives me half decent free shit every now and then for annoying me with their exclusivity deals

honestly something like Helghast armor or some other iconic PS character armor probably wouldve done the trick, still needs to be optional though
Jak 2 Krimzon Guard Armor would've been dope
*shooting down Automaton dropships* THIS IS A NO HOVER ZONE!
Fine, ill play the Jak Trilogy again
![gif](giphy|r4GLXaCAVCaqCcewcL)
Everytime I go "I'll play the Jak trilogy", I 100% Precursor Legacy no problem, get to the mining station in Jak 2 and go "yep... I'm out. Fuck this".
Oh hey, it's me and the tank missions in Sly 2.
SURRENDER!
Fuuuuuuuuck now that's a trip down memory lane
Wait, were the bugs just metal heads all along???
Omggg yes
I would worn that exclusively for the style regardless of the passive
The yellow armor would be perfect as far as color scheme goes.
Goddamn man what a sudden wave of nostalgia. The Jak series was so good...
God you just gave me flashbacks
I’ve literally been replaying the Jak trilogy these past two weeks, in between delivering democracy of course, bc the games were on sale for $7 each
I would’ve paid money for helghast armor
Same ![gif](giphy|l378fa5CTuMWv5AVq)
Bloodborne helldiver Edit: It's light armor that replaces your dive with a quickstep and has a few I-frames. Thoughts?
Can't change the gameplay like that lol. But maybe Bloodborne cape that has collars up all cool looking.
A diver must dive
Don't think too much about it. Just get out there and kill a few bugs.
Sony would sooner drop the account requirement before giving PC players anything Bloodborne related.
Can I Upvote this multiple times?
Feathered crow cape!
I see your logical and reasonable argument, but I counter you with this: it'd look so fucking sick
Would be funny if the armor paired with a chance of a "You Died" animation when you are killed.
Helghast armor would have me running to get it linked. Its way better from a PR perspective.
A helghast armour would have me linked in a heartbeat. I love killzone, and I find the helghast armour cool as fuck
Doom guy armor or god of war armor lol
Doomguy is owned by Xbox now so that is unlikely to happen. You could make good God of War-themed spartan armour by filling in some of the gaps to keep the faceless expendables theme consistent.
Honestly, just a helmet with Kratos tattoo on it would have been enough for me.
That's what Destiny did for their Kratos armouor
To be fair, they already had a Master Chief-themed armor set as a Discord drop.
God of Democracy *
If they had an actual Helghast armor I'd even go as far buying a PSN+ sub for a month
Ace Combat protags to replace Eagle 1 (they all sound suspiciously like her)
I would happily sign up if I got Helghast armor. It's so perfect for Helldivers.
The carrot and the stick, a tale as old as time. And somehow corpo suits are still surprised whenever people react negatively to the stick.
They became corpotards because they weren't intelligent enough to have a useful role in society, simple as that.
Typically because they’re non human, they just don’t get it
Do you really expect publically traded corpo execs to do the logical thing, that could mean a sustainable model, instead of trying to maximize profits for shareholders asap?

Yeah, just give some dumb minor cosmetic or some SC and like 99% wouldnt even complain.
Have someone take a day or less to make a cape and give everyone it for free? That might bankrupt Sony having that one cap designed. “Just give us your email so we can spam it and sell it to other companies and have a data breach
Primary reason for all this starting was people couldn't play the game anymore. Not the hassle of creating a PSN.
Nah man… before PSN locked regions became a known issue shit was hitting the fan over just having to create an account
There is the issue that people don't want to be left without an option. If people are given an ultimatum, they'll often respond very negatively. Japanese corporations in particular will never admit they fucked up. All of the pushback is likely just strengthening their resolve to force account creation.
Ngl I thought he was gonna say if he was a Sony executive he would kill himself
He probably originally wrote that and chuckled then wrote this. Love me some Dan's Gaming.
I would give them my kid's social security number for a shiny helmet
this made me laugh on my break from work
Sony probably wants 100% accurate player stats, full moderator control, stuff like that.
They might only get 75% now anyway. At least they'll have 100% of that though.
25-30% is more likely now at this point.
Sony, probably. https://preview.redd.it/o1joyeasipyc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7bff5992493918969fce5d8cfaa305393af2e84e
All to "moderate" a pve game 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If they still viewed Xbox as competition, they would probably be more careful about angering the base, but where would frustrated console players go?
It's funny because Mojang/Microsoft already did the 'free thing if you do X'. They gave people "Migrator cape" when they converted to microsoft account.
Xbox needs to stop fucking around
I’d be ok if they rerelease the blue armor and call it psn armor and give it away to anyone that links their account if it meant all this depressing stuff goes away. https://preview.redd.it/ftxzn8pplpyc1.jpeg?width=702&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0249ba1741649be80459d322fd9058b0baf19a22 I just want to go back to the old days mannnn before this stupid psn thing man without worrying about getting banned cuz I’m not on the countries that has psn support, I was so hyped for the warbond and had friends that was going to join soon but can’t cuz region lock hit, its bullshit.
This makes me so genuinely sad... 😢
Same. Almost convinced a friend from a "bad" country to get helldivers. Had to stop him from getting it
ngl badass ship name
You won't get banned, the reason that Chinese player got banned is because his account was hacked. Not because he used a VPN/link PSN to helldiver. SONY has always turned a blind eye to unsupported region registering PSN.
Give me a god of war inspired armor with the red paint styled after Kratos tattoo
Couldn't this open up the doorway to PSN exclusive weapons, or PSN players get early access to Warbonds? I highly doubt Sony would stop at cosmetics.
People here have been saying this for days. It's not this big revelation. Sony is just stupid. Games do this all the time. "Hey, free item. Link your account." You get good will and can freely sell their data after.
They also do account-linking on start up all the time. The only issue was that they turned it off because of server load.
Thats how a normal person thinks, money hungry corporations have a completely different mindset
Or even just require it for crossplay
That would've been smart too. Then at least everyone would still be able to play the game.... smh
That’s what I thought it was for
Sony really wants peoples data to sell.
It would have been so easy, but that's not how corporations work. They want people to do whatever they demand.
free cosmetics are honestly the best/easiest way to get gamers to sign up for your third party account. Everyone wants a cosmetic for free
The weirdest thing is games like returnal did this, I don't know why they changed this
Fuck. I probably woulda done that. He's right.
Honestly, why not a cool psn themed cape or helmet, jeez it wasn't that hard
This was exactly what I was thinking. People hate being forced or being punished. Giving pc players an incentive to do it instead of making it mandatory and not doing so would stop you from playing a game you paid for would have caused little to no controversy
The dirty, dirty whore in me knows this to be correct.
Crossplay progression is what it should really be by linking the playstation account
If i could wear N7 armor in this game It would feel like a wet dream
You know people wearing the cosmetics will be accidentally killed more often.
That's bogus but if that was the case just turn off cross play for those who don't link simple
I have a PSN account, I am refusing to link said accounts. Many people I have played with are doing the same.
You guys remember all those Baldur's Gate 3 drama of the Steam version requiring a Larian account? Oh wait, it didn't...
Do you have to provide your real name, address and potentially photo ID to make a Larian account? Or can you just call yourself Cockgobbler500?
bro is a genius
hell, I'd probably still make one if they did this.
But if they do that after this drama, people will start shooting whoever wearing PSN armor in the game. I know, i'll shoot them on sight too.
You know what's funny, they probably can't even get away with that now.
"If Sony had offered me some super credits per month for linking (some games give in-game currency for setting up TFA) would I be willing to?" My answer was "Maybe." Getting Sony specific cosmetics for linking would have been a much easier pil to swallow, and instead of making it mandatory, you "bribe" people into linking and don't lose much PR. Sony's CEO needs better advisers..
Like I said, there aren't games that let you install them but then require Steam to run. They provide a service and people think it's worth using, no enforcement required. Apparently a lot of places with power that want more stop trying to make a good product/service and just focus on squeezing every last penny out of their consumers.
this is exactly what i was saying last night with my friends. they should have provided incentive instead of punishment
No. This is better. Finally. Free of cheaters.
This person and anyone who agrees gravely misjudges the online community, there absolutely would be backlash, not as severe but there would be a lot. Any country with no access to PSN immediately loses access to the cosmetic, some people will refund whole games just because of Eula agreements, they would not be happy with this either.
mans a genius
Yeah but Sony wants everyone to have one because the whole point of this is so that they don't need to go through valves ecosystem to ban people.
This goes to show that not a single person in charge over there has the players' interests at heart. They just see them as a number on a metric and not someone trying to enjoy media. There's no love in the industry outside of indy dev teams.
Carrot beats Stick, almost every time
Mans should be a Sony executive!
A kratos spartan armor would cook!🔥🔥
Giving a free warbond would make the Amish sign up for PSN
Fire resistant armor for linking PSN account. Bam. Everyone in countries that have PSN available would link their accounts.
That would have been the best way to go
That's a simple win-win strategy from day 1 and everyone get what they wants.
Only Sony’s guys would have won this way. Especially considering there is no cosmetic system in HD2.
Isn’t this kind of what everyone else does?
THATS WHAT I SAID LMAOOO
Incentives? No no, just forcing.
Worked on me with CoD and Amazon prime
Yeppppppppp 😑
Is this game any good ?
Yeah, nobody would have a problem with that as long as it's OPTIONAL. So you know, half of the world doesn't lose access
was also spammed in comments over reddit last 3 days
Literally Like a Blue Helldivers Armor
And this guy is... who exactly?
Make this guy CEO!
From the start it would've been the best option, and now after the bombing I don't know how good of an option it is now
The problem isn't account linking. The problem is fucking over your loyal fans because they don't like in a privileged enough country. Fuck Sony
Yeah, I just want it to go away. Met someone online and they are really cool, and now I'll never be able to play with them again because no psn in their region. It fucking sucks and it hurts.
And now Theoden King lies dead. These are dark days
Who the fuck is Dans Gaming
Bunch of Mentally Ill Complaining to the point of boycotting the game, but if there was a free skin it would all be ok. Hypocrites.
You act as if this actually happened.. You ok there bud? Unironically, have you taken your meds?
Sony’s ego won’t let them go back. It’ll be like the PS3 torpedo all over again. Except it’s HD2 that’s doing the dive and not a giant enemy crab.
I won't sign up for snoy no matter what they offer..
Offer me the Blue armour and a matching cape and I’ll do it. Loo
These people are always looking to make fast money and deal with the backlash later.
a shitty cloak would tide many over.
The PS executives don't play games.
Give me a free Premium Warbond and I'll do it lmao
Like EA did with Mass Effect?
Arrowhead, get in a meeting with Sony and convince them to change it so that it is like this instead of mandatory (if you can do that, I really do not know how this works)
CDPR did it for cyberpunk, you got a wolf t-shirt and a sword for v. Even gacha games know that it's easier to convince users with prizes, which is why many of them give pulls if you enable TFA. Sony is way behind in terms of understanding their community.
Yep then I might have signed up but nah they had to be bloody children bout this shit and blew this game up
Honestly idk what they could do for that, also it would be asking the arrowhead to basically apologize for Sony by making content for it. Everyone gets the same stuff to work with in Helldivers and that’s what’s great about it. But Sony should have given some kind of benefit for creating an account. But really they fucked everything up from the start by selling the game in non psn countries so there’s almost nothing that they can do except cave because that’s horseshit.
