If I had a coin for every AC game with a friend/back stabber rival who calls you buddy and repeatedly asks you what is your reason for fighting, i’d have two coins, which isn’t much, but it’s weird how it happened twice. And both times was great.
I know the devs dropped (or \*crosses fingers\* put on hold) the idea of both Automatons and Terminids on the same map due to technical issues and priorities, but goddamn what I would give to have a threeway battle like that. Pumped up enemy numbers with absolute chaos around you would be awesome. Injecting pure cinematic adrenaline right into our veins.

Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Why not tho? We getting next warbond with basically half armored soldier trhowing knifes and people got hyped but if we see full plate armor with a shield in one hand and morning star on the other smashing devestetors people will dislike it, because it breaks immersion
The soldiers in the jungle warbond are still identifiable as Helldivers... and light, camouflaged armour has a practical purpose. Dressing like a medieval knight doesn't.
On the contrary, it might. Remember, everything our Helldivers do is canonically recorded and edited into recruitment videos in order to get more Helldivers. Seeing an unstoppable knight in plate armor demolishing a horde of bugs would be great propaganda.
Steel plate armor would be definitively worse against the enemies we fight than the kind of futuristic alloy armors we’re using right now. A knight would get torn to shreds by scavengers alone, not even considering nothing bigger

Arrowhead, if you’re listening, please add a wild west themed warbond with a lever rifle and single action revolver. I don’t care how shitty these guns are I need to play with them.
I agree, an amazing idea! There’s so much potential:
•Silenced rifles and pistols
•sleep dart pistol (probably just useful for being stealthy. Stuns the targeted enemy (longer or shorter based on their size) and when they wake up they think nothing of it)
•Taser knife thing (I barely remember this one)
•HF Blade(s) like Gray Fox, Raiden, Sam etc (I might’ve accidentally wrote an essay-comment about those a minute ago)
•An armor set with a unique perk that includes a prosthetic hand like Venom Snake’s. Two ideas for what the perk could do, too. 1. Has a Fulton Extraction system, so you can send small amounts of your captured samples straight back up to Eagle 1 / Pelican 1 / your Destroyer for safe keeping, so you don’t actually need to successfully extract to salvage some samples after a long mission. 2. Something that enhances / adds depth to the currently lackluster melee system? Like actual takedown animations on melee kill + increased melee damage, or a way to ‘parry’ weak melee attacks (sword bots, scavengers, warriors) with your own melee, like how Snake shows many ways to counter his opponents attacks with expert CQC
•A Sneaking Suit armor set (reduces noise your Diver makes for easier stealth, and gives you mild passive health regeneration so you can save on stims?)
•An armor set or Booster that gives various minor stat boosts (sprint speed, stamina, melee damage, recoil control, a new passive regen, take your pick of anything) called “Nanomachines”
Probably WAY too far out there but an ‘infinite ammo bandana’ as a stratagem? Maybe to balance it, you can only call in one per mission period, like how the mechs have limited uses, and maybe it only applies to ‘bullet’ weapons, or only primaries, secondaries, or support weapons, and almost certainly would still mean ‘needing to reload’, just that you’d never run out of backups, or that your magazines / clips would regenerate over time so you wouldn’t need ammo boxes / resupplies if you’re not wasting too much?
WAIT! An equipable stratagem that takes up your backpack slot. Just picking it up, it’s not visible. You can’t see anything special or out of place on your Helldiver, and neither can anyone / thing else. But when you try to select that slot (like when using some of the more gimmicky things in the game to my knowledge, like the ammo backpack), you equip the Legendary, Last Word in Infiltration Technology, *The Cardboard Box!” Makes you significantly harder to detect by any enemy type, in exchange for terrible movement speed while inside it AND the inability to shoot or anything of the sort. You can dial in a Stratagem, but must exit the box to throw it.
Come on Arrowhead, make it happen! Metal Gear inspired mechanics, warbond and stratagems would be so fun, and an awesome love letter to such an iconic franchise
Plus, comparisons have been made between this game’s core mechanics and what you can do in MGSV, movement and shooting wise. They’ve got some shared DNA that very few other games can claim, so I like to think you guys are fans :)
The crest. They represented the soldiers’ rank, some were front to back and others one side to the other, for intimidation as they made the soldier appear taller.

depending on how far into the future HD2 is actually set, the people of Super Earth might not even know what a Knight is lol.

On the contrary, an entire army of soldiers completely devout to their cause and willing to do anything to further it. Soldiers that fought for honor and discipline. Super Earth would love that and would absolutely try to push it as propaganda

You don't want knight armor with covered with glowing lines that shimmers due to an energy barrier when struck? A longsword that burns with the heat of a star? A mighty glowing shield that projects an energy barrier off to each side to shield allies firing from behind it despite not protecting your legs as well as the ballistic shield? Given their previous war bond performance, that means we'll get heavy plate armor with the scout perk, and a two handed sword with less damage than the liberator AR.

A mech that is basically an Space marine? Melee sword to fight chargers and a bolter in the other hand that is basically a mini pre nerf eruptor.
Emphasis on *secondary weapon.* A melee primary might sound fun on paper, but it would almost certainly never see use in anything requiring effort.

Like actual takedown animations on melee kill + increased melee damage, or a way to ‘parry’ weak melee attacks (sword bots, scavengers, warriors) with your own melee, like how Snake shows many ways to counter his opponents attacks with expert CQC •A Sneaking Suit armor set (reduces noise your Diver makes for easier stealth, and gives you mild passive health regeneration so you can save on stims?) •An armor set or Booster that gives various minor stat boosts (sprint speed, stamina, melee damage, recoil control, a new passive regen, take your pick of anything) called “Nanomachines” Probably WAY too far out there but an ‘infinite ammo bandana’ as a stratagem? Maybe to balance it, you can only call in one per mission period, like how the mechs have limited uses, and maybe it only applies to ‘bullet’ weapons, or only primaries, secondaries, or support weapons, and almost certainly would still mean ‘needing to reload’, just that you’d never run out of backups, or that your magazines / clips would regenerate over time so you wouldn’t need ammo boxes / resupplies if you’re not wasting too much? WAIT! An equipable stratagem that takes up your backpack slot. Just picking it up, it’s not visible. You can’t see anything special or out of place on your Helldiver, and neither can anyone / thing else. But when you try to select that slot (like when using some of the more gimmicky things in the game to my knowledge, like the ammo backpack), you equip the Legendary, Last Word in Infiltration Technology, *The Cardboard Box!” Makes you significantly harder to detect by any enemy type, in exchange for terrible movement speed while inside it AND the inability to shoot or anything of the sort. You can dial in a Stratagem, but must exit the box to throw it. Come on Arrowhead, make it happen! Metal Gear inspired mechanics, warbond and stratagems would be so fun, and an awesome love letter to such an iconic franchise Plus, comparisons have been made between this game’s core mechanics and what you can do in MGSV, movement and shooting wise. They’ve got some shared DNA that very few other games can claim, so I like to think you guys are fans :)

i think Knight helmets are cool, but idk if it would fit into this universe/lore 🥲 depending on how far into the future HD2 is actually set, the people of Super Earth might not even know what a Knight is lol. either way a couple helmets with such design wouldn't hurt :)
On the contrary, an entire army of soldiers completely devout to their cause and willing to do anything to further it. Soldiers that fought for honor and discipline. Super Earth would love that and would absolutely try to push it as propaganda
