It would be really funny because it will be our faults. We decided what order to liberate the planets in and we could have easily gotten Hellmire out of the way first and not have to deal with any potential Hive Lords.
That would actually be good news. When it turns into a super colony we can blow the whole planet up and start sending those who only dived on that planet into a mental asylum.

Would actually be kind of cool to have enemy modifiers... Maybe one where flame damage does 25% less or something, or maybe takes more from flame damage..think Destiny 2 nightfall modifiers but for helldiver missions.
Conceptually, yeah. Sounds neat.
In practice, less so because fire isn't great vs bots and making the bugs resistant to fire (even sometimes) dumpsters a whole swathe of guns and strats resulting in less variety in builds
Could have some flavor text for the modifier be like, "flame resistant carapace - the terminids on this mission have evolved to have a flame hardened carapace, resisting 25% of fire damage dealt"
Could be cool to have them rotate like destiny does, so one week maybe fire weapons don't make that much of a dent and need to switch up the strat/loadout. Could do the same for bots " automatons on this mission have shielded circuitry, preventing 25% of electric damage dealt"
Could allow for more people to try different weapons and or stratagems every couple weeks along side the modifiers we have already, or have mission and enemy modifiers. 🤔
Small issue with that being that generic explosives (quasar, recoiless, eagle strikes) are generally the best strats that get spammed and not fire/electricity

What if the extra spores are going to move the terminids to another part of the Galactic map to make space for the Illuminates to come through the portal.
