That's...an amazing idea actually. Like one objective could be "Kill X Bugs within the designated zone", the zone being where the camera drones are setup. Another could be "Plant the Flag" on top of a tall (and heavily defended) bug hive.
It would be kinda cool if there was a halo theater type recording of your last 5 or so matches from the perspective of a stealth drone hovering around you.

I've been playing Ghost of Tsushima on PC lately.
I'm not a big photo guy but oh my, freezing the game at almost any moment to create an epic cinematic screenshot with in-built effects just pumps a bit of freedom hormones in my democratic brain.
I know for Helldivers that is a no-no, just saying that having creator tools can feel so fun even when one is not deep into the topic...
It should be a situational one like the flag or a hellbomb. Call in a news team to record your glorious exploits in defending democracy. Bonus point if they survive!

Man, i wish I would have had a camera a few days ago. Was using the inc mines and apparently my friends could not see them when I deployed them. I ended that mission with 12 accidentals. You can imagine how it went.
Player weilding camera support weapon: when holding down fire, a recording, including in-game audio and voice is made. Post processing adds a randomized anchor intro a banner bar with ticker, including location, and current major order.
This recording is saved as an mpg4 to a folder in the helldivers 2 directory so it can be shared.
ETA: If a 60-second video is made in a hot zone, 100 xp is added to base xp for the mission.
I saw awhile back talk of a camera or video recorder stratagem..it might have been a leak? Little fuzzy on the details but I remember it being talked about. Would be perfect for this mission

For propaganda we'd need different difficulties to have more intense objectives. On lower difficulties you can't die else the footage is tainted and you have to start again. For higher levels you would have certain objectives that you have a good chance of dying to (primed hell bombs), and dying to one would give a chunk of footage progress at the cost of a reinforcement.
We have to be either untouchable or sacrificially heroic, with no lives lost that weren't planned. Would make for some interesting missions.
You get requisition slips for doing emotes like hugs, head butts, salutes at each objective. Have to call in the recording beacon at the recording site.

That way, if the camera operator dies, you have to go get the camera because you’ll fail the mission if you don’t extract the footage.
Call down a camera, someone has it as a support weapon and is forced to abandon their role in combat and to shoot footage. Give various different objectives so each mission is random. Examples include:
**- Record the Helldivers slaying 250 bugs.**
**- Record the Helldivers clearing 10 bug holes.**
**- Record the Helldivers slaying 3 Bile Titans.**
**- Record the Helldivers making heroic sacrifices. (5 Deaths by Super Earths Enemies)**
Literally gives the power to have people complete mission objectives on their own terms, gives extremely thematic and hilarious missions that could end with a great story for the evening, and would be a great way to break up the routine of missions we have now.
NGL though I would absolutely love it if when you do extract like others are saying, it switches to some news channel showcasing the various clips recorded from POV of the camera-man while the end music plays with a ticker at the bottom saying '\[PLANET NAME\] UNDER SIEGE, HELLDIVERS GIVE THEIR LIVES FOR FREEDOM!'
I really get that this is a lot of work for like 30 seconds of just memes, but man would it make those missions insanely memorable.

I think I cool addition would be needing to either extract the camera itself or to upload the footage at a radar station. It would add a whole ‘nother degree of tension.
So you’d have to balance and choose between diving in to crazy situations to get the shots you need and risking loosing the footage when the cameraman dies and drops the tape.
The flag raising missions *ARE* propaganda missions
You're going down to a terminid-infested planet, to a prop village set up by Super Earth, to raise a flag of Super Earth while *BLARING* music to attract all the terminids for a flashy propaganda video of you "defending" a Super Earth settlement from a Terminid invasion.

Level 4 missions are nuts right now from the POV of a new player. Was playing last night with someone new to the game (just the two of us) and by the liberty gods, we would barely take out a patrol when other two spawned, and then another and another - I would open the map repeatedly and just see those red dots pop in again and again...
For experienced groups I think the current spawn rate can be fun at D7+ but for new players they might be a bit much even on lower difficulties.
THANK YOU, I can't believe no one else is saying this, it seems like the most obvious thing to me. They only shoot warriors in small groups the whole time, which are the bugs used for target practice in the tutorial, except for the one bile titan
level 4 and 5 you can get "Kill bile titan" as a mission objective. They become a potential reinforcement enemy starting at Diff 6.
Same for the Factory Strider on the bot side of things.
Yeah tbh I think people drastically overkilling with Liberator and other ARs is one of the reasons why many people struggle with them. In a [situation like this for example](https://imgur.com/PIEhR7B) I think most people would just let it rip full auto and sweep across the scavengers instead of just onetapping them all.
You just need a little bit more... finesse. Know when to tapfire, burstfire, fullauto. That makes your mag capacity go a much longer way.
Similarly I could never stand the Sickle at all because of it's spool up time and [hilarious inaccuracy](https://imgur.com/a/nzeKrjm). I just wanna click on a guy and have him be dead, not wait a second for my gun to spool up and then pray to God, Allah, Buddha, Thor, Ares/Mars and whatever that Scientology Alien is called that one of the first 15 bullets fired finds its mark lol.
the machine pistol on single-fire made it objectively better than the standard pistol in every way. More ammo in the magazine, same damage, less recoil.
Now that the standard pistol does more damage per shot, it has its own value.
The spool time on sickle is more than meets the eye, I don’t use it for that reason
The spool time means no killing hunter as it jump at you (melee parry only)
And also no burst firing one by one
And no run to reposition and look back to shoot asap, you need to dive instead because if you run you have to face the spool up time again
You’re basically forced to hold the trigger and mow them down instead
You can tell because all of the guns used don't have magazines nor any form of recoil like seen in-game. You even see the machine gunner actor not evening acting recoil from his machine gun and even poking a dead terminid with the gun barrel.

My headcannon is that it was shot on a secured planet, bugs weakened or hindered in some way. You can see that some of their guns don't have magazines in them, indicating they're either in complete safety, or in a studio with a lot of VFX.
What propaganda? It sounds like you're implying that the ultra-patriotic citizens of Super Earth need to be "tricked" into joining the Helldivers, and I don't like it one bit.

Man, i wish I would have had a camera a few days ago. Was using the inc mines and apparently my friends could not see them when I deployed them. I ended that mission with 12 accidentals. You can imagine how it went.
Player weilding camera support weapon: when holding down fire, a recording, including in-game audio and voice is made. Post processing adds a randomized anchor intro a banner bar with ticker, including location, and current major order. This recording is saved as an mpg4 to a folder in the helldivers 2 directory so it can be shared. ETA: If a 60-second video is made in a hot zone, 100 xp is added to base xp for the mission.

The amount of live syou have is heavily reduced as we can't have a lot helldivers dying on camera.
I saw awhile back talk of a camera or video recorder stratagem..it might have been a leak? Little fuzzy on the details but I remember it being talked about. Would be perfect for this mission P.s I would definitely role play the camera guy from starship troopers

Those "Raise the Flag" missions already have camera drones with them.
For propaganda we'd need different difficulties to have more intense objectives. On lower difficulties you can't die else the footage is tainted and you have to start again. For higher levels you would have certain objectives that you have a good chance of dying to (primed hell bombs), and dying to one would give a chunk of footage progress at the cost of a reinforcement. We have to be either untouchable or sacrificially heroic, with no lives lost that weren't planned. Would make for some interesting missions.
You get requisition slips for doing emotes like hugs, head butts, salutes at each objective. Have to call in the recording beacon at the recording site.
Camera Stratagem, one player recieving it like a support weapon, aim to focus on a helldiver, "fire" to keep rolling.
Progress gained for filming enemies being destroyed, progress lost for filming Helldivers get killed.

Yes! The camera HAS to be something we use! That way, if the camera operator dies, you have to go get the camera because you’ll fail the mission if you don’t extract the footage.

They used to be, but a few updates ago, they enabled them on high lvl missions
Call down a camera, someone has it as a support weapon and is forced to abandon their role in combat and to shoot footage. Give various different objectives so each mission is random. Examples include: **- Record the Helldivers slaying 250 bugs.** **- Record the Helldivers clearing 10 bug holes.** **- Record the Helldivers slaying 3 Bile Titans.** **- Record the Helldivers making heroic sacrifices. (5 Deaths by Super Earths Enemies)** Literally gives the power to have people complete mission objectives on their own terms, gives extremely thematic and hilarious missions that could end with a great story for the evening, and would be a great way to break up the routine of missions we have now. NGL though I would absolutely love it if when you do extract like others are saying, it switches to some news channel showcasing the various clips recorded from POV of the camera-man while the end music plays with a ticker at the bottom saying '\[PLANET NAME\] UNDER SIEGE, HELLDIVERS GIVE THEIR LIVES FOR FREEDOM!' I really get that this is a lot of work for like 30 seconds of just memes, but man would it make those missions insanely memorable.

You’ve completely nailed how this mode should go - I wish I could play it right now lol I think I cool addition would be needing to either extract the camera itself or to upload the footage at a radar station. It would add a whole ‘nother degree of tension. So you’d have to balance and choose between diving in to crazy situations to get the shots you need and risking loosing the footage when the cameraman dies and drops the tape.
finally, a use for our 4th homie that manages at most 10 kills a mission (with roughly 4 of them being team kills)

The flag raising missions *ARE* propaganda missions You're going down to a terminid-infested planet, to a prop village set up by Super Earth, to raise a flag of Super Earth while *BLARING* music to attract all the terminids for a flashy propaganda video of you "defending" a Super Earth settlement from a Terminid invasion. Level 4 missions are nuts right now from the POV of a new player. Was playing last night with someone new to the game (just the two of us) and by the liberty gods, we would barely take out a patrol when other two spawned, and then another and another - I would open the map repeatedly and just see those red dots pop in again and again... For experienced groups I think the current spawn rate can be fun at D7+ but for new players they might be a bit much even on lower difficulties.
That stuff was obviously shot on the Mars installation. They used a few of the target bugs for most of the shots
THANK YOU, I can't believe no one else is saying this, it seems like the most obvious thing to me. They only shoot warriors in small groups the whole time, which are the bugs used for target practice in the tutorial, except for the one bile titan

I just did a level 5 with a buddy and we killed over 700 bugs. No titans tho.
level 4 and 5 you can get "Kill bile titan" as a mission objective. They become a potential reinforcement enemy starting at Diff 6. Same for the Factory Strider on the bot side of things.

Theres no way, his liberator killed something in a short burst, the bugs are paid actors.
No lie put your liberator on single shot, it one taps the tiny bugs and 2-3 taps the hunters.
Yeah tbh I think people drastically overkilling with Liberator and other ARs is one of the reasons why many people struggle with them. In a [situation like this for example](https://imgur.com/PIEhR7B) I think most people would just let it rip full auto and sweep across the scavengers instead of just onetapping them all. You just need a little bit more... finesse. Know when to tapfire, burstfire, fullauto. That makes your mag capacity go a much longer way. Similarly I could never stand the Sickle at all because of it's spool up time and [hilarious inaccuracy](https://imgur.com/a/nzeKrjm). I just wanna click on a guy and have him be dead, not wait a second for my gun to spool up and then pray to God, Allah, Buddha, Thor, Ares/Mars and whatever that Scientology Alien is called that one of the first 15 bullets fired finds its mark lol.
Yeah For a long time I put the uzi on single fire and would whip it out to deal with flocks of the little dudes.
the machine pistol on single-fire made it objectively better than the standard pistol in every way. More ammo in the magazine, same damage, less recoil. Now that the standard pistol does more damage per shot, it has its own value.
I did not know they buffed the standard pistol. I occasionally bring the verdict but have been enjoying the bushwhacker.
The spool time on sickle is more than meets the eye, I don’t use it for that reason The spool time means no killing hunter as it jump at you (melee parry only) And also no burst firing one by one And no run to reposition and look back to shoot asap, you need to dive instead because if you run you have to face the spool up time again You’re basically forced to hold the trigger and mow them down instead

You can tell because all of the guns used don't have magazines nor any form of recoil like seen in-game. You even see the machine gunner actor not evening acting recoil from his machine gun and even poking a dead terminid with the gun barrel.

My headcannon is that it was shot on a secured planet, bugs weakened or hindered in some way. You can see that some of their guns don't have magazines in them, indicating they're either in complete safety, or in a studio with a lot of VFX.

I always thought of it as like a green screen since none of the guns have mags. They just put the sound and flash in during post production.
